I've ridden the heck out of the entire H-D touring line-up and owned just about all of them. After riding several thousands of miles on a Challenger (including just completing 10,000 miles in 14 days), I have to say it's the best motorcycle I've ever ridden. BWT, mine and the two other Challengers with me had no issues! These bikes are rock solid! Thanks Tall for a great review!

I was a long time Harley and Triumph rider. I totaled my Road Glide Ultra a couple years ago, test rode the 18 HD and the Indian Roadmaster. There was no comparison, the ride, handling, comfort, std features sold me. I haven't regretted it on bit.
I have a 2016 VIC XC I bought in '17. I have 24,800 miles on it and love it . When the days comes, I will get a Challenger unlimited . THanks for the Great Commentary on the 2 bikes~
Yep, that’s what decided it for me-local dealers, and the solid Harley culture. Now, my next bike,,,,,, I might take another look at that Indian. I think it’s a fine motorcycle.
Just bought a 2020 Indian Challenger Darkhorse, LOVE IT! You're right on everything you said too, and that's the stuff that made me want this bike the best out of the box bike off the showroom floor. In a few years there will be plenty of upgrades especially in the speed dept as Indian will be getting help from S&S as well as Lloyds. Oh and I'm in Port Huron, Michigan.
Great video TT. I currently own 3 Harley's. In this case the Challenger wins. Bang for buck. More included off the showroom floor. The biggest thing for me is the improved suspension. Harley really needs to upgrade their frame and suspension on the touring models. They did a fantastic job with the softails. Take care. Stay well. Have a blessed day.
Tall, you made the best case for both American brands. The Challenger is a new bike and experiencing some issues you would expect of a new model. Not that the Milwaukee 8 has been trouble free either. In the end, for the price, you are going to get the bike that speaks to you.

I have ridden a 2020 RG and the Challenger both in stock form and for me, the Challenger wins hands down. It is just a more complete package straight out of the box for less money then the HD. Also being from Australia we don't have to worry about all this dealership nonsense that you guys in the USA have. Any motorcycle mechanic can work on any bike down here so that doesn't factor in when picking what brand of motorcycle one rides. I am pretty sure if you guys didn't have to rely on a "dealership network" then things maybe different. Anyway nice review Tall. Enjoyed it a lot. Cheers
I love my Indian but since I was a kid I always wanted a softail, if it was not for the terrible service from the HD dealer I would be riding a HD today. To me a motorcycle is a motorcycle they have different personalities...just depends what personality you like. If I could I would own a number of different bikes for when I feel like doing something different. Great review man. 👍🏾💯🇦🇺
Nice review and honest opinions. The more I look and read about the Challenger it seems to be a nice machine but I love my Road Glide CVO. I follow you alot and look forward to more reviews and videos..... great job ...... Atlanta, Ga
I've been watching a lot of comparison videos on these bikes and this feels like the most honest and thorough. Covered all the points I'm interested in but kept it concise. Great video, thank you.
I also like how you mentioned the ride quality on highways next to trucks. I believe that’s very important. I also ride a 2017 Street Glide Special , but you much taller then I am .
I man love your channel. I’m from Miami, Florida and I ride a 2020 road glide special. I had myself a 2019 chieftain darkhorse and being my first touring bagger, I loved it. It was my second Indian motorcycle at the time, the first was a 2019 scout bobber. I went to Harley and traded it in for a 2020 road glide special and now I love Harley. In my opinion both motorcycles are great and totally different when it comes to performance and riding. But for me Harley is just more of everything, more aftermarket parts, more dealers, more shops, easier to get parts and cheaper. I also have to agree with what you said on the video, with Harley you kinda get a blank canvas which you can customize to look however you want. Great channel,.
I have considered Indian before I got my Harley. At that time I was considering the Bobber and the Harley 48. What drew me towards Harley more was not only the customization options but also the history behind the company. I never purchased the 48, I attended a demo day and rode the 48, FatBoy, SG, RK. Once I rode the SG I knew it was the bike for me. Great video Tall, and its really cool you had the opportunity to do this.
G’day Tall. Coming at this from Australia, where we have some downright crap roads, good suspension and handling is also a BIG factor. Although I have mostly owned Harleys over the last 43 years, I get frustrated with their pathetic suspension on such an expensive bike. You nailed it with great and well reasoned reviews right through. The 2021 Challenger will be the one to buy imo, as they develop options and improve the bike. God bless ya brother. Keep up the great work.

I appreciate the honest review and the end of the day, you're still supporting two iconic American companies. Listen, competition is good, the consumer always wins. Great review Traveling Tall! Love the new effects you are leveraging on your videos, nice improvements! By the way, the microphone you used at the end of video to end it sounded perfect! The sound of the main video was good but when you switched at the end, even better! Keep up the great work!
Tall fam, i appreciate your unbiased video review which is unlikely from an HD man and for pointing out the manute personal preferences that are easily resolved by switching out aparts such as the stock seat and for a slightly tinted windscreen but at the end of the day the 2020 INDIAN CHALLENGER hands down is a bad mutha it is what it is, you dig. 🗨️☝️😎💢

Loved the video man. I’m 6’8” and ride a 15’ street glide modified for my height but have been thinking about one of these challengers. Love the tall man perspective. New subscriber here!
Loving my 19 Chieftain but I miss my 120hp on my last Vic. When they drop the 108 into a Chieftain I’ll be buying that one! I hope they pick a cool name like the Tomahawk! By then, I’m sure Loyds will have a bunch of performance improvements! Thank you for the honest and classy content!
I like the fact that you are an HD owner and you were not trying to bash Indian just giving a fair and HONEST opinion. Too many HD owners just flame other bikes to make themselves feel good about their HD. You touched on dealerships, the other problem regarding Indian is that there is chance Polaris will do the same thing they did to Victory and suddenly stop making them.
Fairly new to your channel but so far I like it! You seem like a real decent dude. I'm out Dallas-Fort Worth and I still ride the one bike that fits my 6'8" frame perfectly. Victory Cross Roads, which I customized into a Cross Country. But I've been wondering about the challenger.
Nice job ! Definitely is a great bike right out of the box for sure ! Thanks for the honest review. Street glide is a great bike as well! Personal preference is what it comes down to. Thanks Tall 👊🏼
Really nice to hear and see the truth about both bikes and their company effort to get to market what meet consumer demand. Great video round about bike and traveling and thanks to you Tall for your brutal unbiased honesty in review.
In my opinion being a 1 year old Road Glide rider. The Road Glide was my first bike. The Harley is on one end of the spectrum being the last of the hotrod world. The goldwing is at the opposite end like a Lexus. In between these two is the Indian. A lexus with a hotrod look.
I buy the bike for the engine as that is the most expensive to modify. I usually do not perform any expensive mods on bikes on a depreciating asset. Harley should offer its stage kits from the factory to help prevent depreciation.
Harley dealerships, at least the ones I've been too, will install the different stages and if it's done within the first 60 days of purchasing the bike, it is included in the warranty.
@@2001redz28 The majority of buyers can't afford all those upgrades in a monthly finance charge. Plus, don't dare use a non HD part or you'll void the warranty. The Local Indian Dealership installs and warranty aftermarket parts and installation. As a consumer You and I should be getting more from a stock bike!
Great review but being an Indian owner it is what I expected. I agree with 100% of Tall’s review. Harley is a great bike, awesome dealer network tons of aftermarket and the sky’s the limit in what you can do with it. I simply purchased an Indian because straight off the floor I get more and more comfortable suspension. If I was 10 years younger decision may have been different because looks and customization would have been higher on the list. I like them both. Still a Road Glide fan! It’s simply a personal choice. They both have tons of positives that out weigh their few negatives. Would be proud to own either brand.
Best objective comparison I have heard yet. My opinion is I don't like the looks of an Indian. Even though I see a resemblance to HD, the Indian does not look as streamline. The long & short.. I am HD person pure and simple. Thanks for sharing your experience. You did right by the Indian MC company. Good job!
Great review/comparisons between the two bikes. Very in depth & honest on both pros/cons on both brands! Good, strong competition between brans will make both brands better... meaning riders are the ultimate winners!! Hopefully both brands are listing! Thanks again for sharing and big props on more quality content! Continued safe riding!!
Excellent review as I have owned 3 HD's in the past, 2 of them CVO's. I just traded my 18 SG CVO for a 2020 Chieftain Elite 2 days ago due to the quality, power, balance and light weight feeling of the Elite. Not to mention the up graded 400 wat power band stereo, 2020 model close outs discounts and standard features that HD just doesn't offer. I will definitely miss the HD culture and dealership available which Indian currently can't compete...however I am extremely happy with my purchase. Ride whatever you love and love whatever you ride!
Great review. I own a 2016 chieftain and got a chance to ride the Challenger this past weekend. It’s a great bike with lots of power and more accell than my 111 for sure. I agree that both Harley and Indian make fine bikes and it’s really about preference. From a stock perspective you tend to get a little more with the Indian but you can’t go wrong with either manufacturer. Just ride what you like and enjoy the road. Doesn’t matter what kind of bike it is as long as you’re enjoying it. I’m in Harleysville Pa, not far from Philly!
I'm glad you did this video by the way my name is will Coleman aka Big will from Lafayette Indiana... your videos have helped me out a lot and very entertaining keep doing what you do God bless brother
At this time, I ride a Kymco Like 150. I love Indian motorcycles, and the Indian Challenger is a great bike, but too large for this little, short lady. So, I am considering the Indian Scout with a few upgrades from stock. Thank you for your wonderful, informative videos, Tall. P. S.: And of course, I love your Harley.
Here from Ohio. Grew up with Harleys. I own 4 currently. But I rode the new pursuit model and I have to say, even with my road glide having the 131, the stock pursuit felt faster and a ton more comfortable. Test rode it for 8 hours and decided to sell the Harleys. I've never felt so confident leaning into sharper corners on a bagger.
With everyone talking about the speed off the showroom floor the Indian, something you're forgetting is the Harley-Davidson is a 45-degree V-Twin the Indian is a 60-degree V-Twin water cooled. The motor comparison is apples to oranges completely different the Indian motorist what they use in the Ftr it's also very similar to the V-Rod motor. The 60 degree twin in the Indian revs higher. I will say the Indian is a very good-looking bike but I still love the Harley Davidson. Good review TalI I think you did a great job brother!........Ride hard or stay home😎
Own a 17 Roadmaster and a 15 FLHP, like them both for separate reasons. But the Roadmaster is the best twin cylinder, long distance bike I've ridden, hands down. Happy I have one of each.
Great review of the Indian Challenger. I own a 2020 Ultra Limited but came from a Victory Cross Country Tour. To be honest, if the Challenger was out I wouldn't own the Harley. My Victory rode better than my Harley and it was a 2013. You are right the HD infrastructure is better but HD needs to watch out or they are going to have serious issues with Indian. Keep up the great reviews!
Hey Mr. Tall, another great video. The Indian is one gorgeous machine but your own customized HD is pretty sweet so I could see no need to jump ship. But as a shopper that is ready to let go of his aging classic sport naked and get on something for some touring the Challenger sure has my attention.
I test rode the Challenger LImited just like the one you rode on their demo day. Will continue to stick with Harley because of the extensive dealership network, customization options and just buying from a time tested manufacturer. The dealer seemed a little shady because their sales pitch was just about slamming Harley Davidson and how they suck. They had a HD Street Glide for comparison, but people started to like the Street Glide too much. It was kind of funny that they stopped allowing people to ride the Street Glide. There are issues starting to crop up with stress cracked head braces which is extremely dangerous with their touring models. Anyway, awesome video Traveling Tall!
Good vid and a great review Tall. I’d have to go with the Harley. I’ve previously owned a Street Glide and it’s a good bike. I also owned a Victory Cross Country and Polaris showed me how loyal they are... So Indian is a no for me.
Thanks for such a clear and detailed video. I like to hear different perspectives, especially from a Harley rider. I’ve had an HD in the past with a 103 and liked it. Test rode a 107 and didn’t like it. Went in today to an HD dealer after my Indian dealer didn’t even say hello when I got there… It just didn’t grab me. I am going with the Challenger at a different dealer-which is a pain since they’re so far and few in between. Thanks again!
Agreed, great review. It’s not a Harley. I have an Indian and a Harley. I love them both. Appreciate the ride for the bike that your on. I think Indian is great for the Harley market, for some good old fashion market competition. Consumer wins!
Nice video Tall I personally test drove a challenger also and I own a 2017 road king and I thought my bike was more solid then the Indian it felt like it wasn’t as sturdy as a Harley-Davidson BABY👍
Good review...... I own a indian Ftr 1200 and my dealer told me it can have warranty service done at any Polaris dealer since Polaris owns Indian ( in fact my oil filter says Polaris on it lol ) . I'm just guessing here but I'm pretty sure there are more Polaris and Indian dealers combined than Harley dealers in the USA . Have you got on the FTR 1200 yet ? It's a beast
@@billwelsh7489 I would advise u call an Indian shop and ask them details , but Polaris is / owns indian , there techs are def trained . Go dig on Indian website for more info ... bottom line is there are plenty of shops around the country to have warranty issues fixed for free . Saying that there are not that many Indian stores and that's a reason to not buy one is an ignorant statement cas if you do you research you will find the opposite . And if u do more reasearch u will see Harley lost 90 mill last quarter and is cutting back production 30 percent on there bikes and closing stores throughout the world , not gona jump to conclusions but it's not looking good for them
I had a friend who bought a Polaris jet boat and told the same thing. He moved a few states away after purchase and it broke down. He finally found someone to work on it that was 1,400 miles away. He got it fixed and turned around and sold it for a loss to the next unlucky buyer.
I sure liked this video. I have bee n looking at these bikes for almost a year and your video is truly a exelant comparison. Problem I can't make up my mind which one I have always rode Honda or Yamaha. The star venture has been dogged a lot but for the price you cannot beat it.
The Indian is a great bike and like you said it’s not like a Street Glide. At first glance it favors a Street Glide. I wish Harley-Davidson would open the M8 engine more then what it is. Definitely upgrade the suspension and include the lock bags. Harley-Davidson is a great bike and I plan on having a 2021 Road Glide Special. As always it’s a pleasure watching your channel. Ride safe and keep the rubber side down.
I will be picking up my 2021 Challenger Limited probably by the end of the week. Took the H-D Road Glide out for a spin as well as the Challenger. For me the Challenger was a modern bike from top to bottom, water cooled, plenty of power and ran great. Good review.
I think people were eager for the challenger but in the end of the day I choose the HD RG that for me is just accetics I knew if I test rode the Challenger I would have loved it so for me I didn't ride it thats probably crazy but you can't teach an old dog new tricks thanks for your review
Love the videos and reviews The quality of the challenger video was exceptional thank you I have owned a 2012 Roadglide special loved it Traded for a 16 Roadglide in denim black Traded that for a 19 Roadglide special After my wreck moved to a BMW K1600b Huge difference
You always give me a lesson about all bikes and I appreciate that greatly. Your comment about Harley Davidson being a bike that is meant to build on after purchase is correct. A Harley bike is just the down payment for what comes next. I'm not looking to keep adding to my purchase theses bikes cost enough now.
I’m test riding one today. Can’t wait. As of now, the Challenger is my dream bike right now. I’m new to the motorcycle world. I personally wouldn’t change anything on the bike🤷🏽♂️. It’s a beautiful bike. In that red is sick, but it’s something about black for me. I plan on buying a black one. Low profile.
Indian and Harley Davidson have too much Sticker Shock built into them anymore . I bought my 2002 Road King new . Would I do it again ? Probably not ..
Literally everything! A fricken low level Kia costs $20k these days. Kids walking around in $200 jeans. Not special jeans, they don’t wash themselves, just jeans!
love all motorcycles. Ive had hd's, victory's and now anIndian Challenger 2020 limited. I bought it mainly for the engine being water-cooled. It, like Victory is so well balanced. It handles like a sport bike...almost. Great review tall.

But I might pass you a time or two I live in Seymour. This is the first video But I found of your. Great video I am looking forward to see your videos.
I did my research and all your points were valid I ended up with the SG just due to parts and dealerships and price. I was looking for a used bike and just not enough out there for the chieftains. With that being said great bike and great review stay Blessed.
Indian is giving Harley a run for their money. I have a 2012 Harley SG, next bike will be Indian challenger in white or gray. Thanks Tall, I appreciate your review. Keep up the good work.
fair review . Had the opportunity to test drive HD, BMW TOUR ( wow ) and challenger . Fell in love with the power and tech of the BMW but it’s not my style and didn’t like the look. Winner was the Indian for me that beat out for overall comfort and build quality. Thanks though for your review. Very happy decision .
I like you honest approach to your comparison. One of the things you mentioned you didn’t like was that everything was covered behind the motor. That’s actually what I did like, the Harley looks unfinished in my opinion. I own a heritage softail and it’s a beautiful bike, but I like my Indian better.

I came across this video when I was browsing and man I love this host he is super underrated and I'm happy to hit that subscription button!!!
I've been riding since I was 14, I bought a Busa after Desert Storm, I love it..now I'm 60 and M.C going to cruiser.... I've tested rode a Indian Challenger today and I'm VERY IMPRESSED.....Got a feeling that's what imma get..... thanks for your information
Nice review 👍This Canadian Loves his street glide
Fairly new to your channel but so far I like it! You seem like a real decent dude. I'm out Dallas-Fort Worth and I still ride the one bike that fits my 6'8" frame perfectly. Victory Cross Roads, which I customized into a Cross Country. But I've been wondering about the challenger.
Nice job ! Definitely is a great bike right out of the box for sure ! Thanks for the honest review. Street glide is a great bike as well! Personal preference is what it comes down to. Thanks Tall 👊🏼
Thanks ABUSA. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the comment.
Great review Tall...a buddy of mine rented the big Indian from Eagle rider and loved it. BTW...I'm from the Philly area and drive a CVO Road Glide...
Tall - you put out great reviews. I enjoy your channel. Cheers
Thanks Shane, thanks for watching.
Good stuff Sir, really enjoyed this video series. Keep up the great work!! Checking in from sunny SoCal..
Good job!
Thanks for watching Paul.
When I get a bagger, the Challenger is definitely on my short list. Amazing machine!
I bought the Challenger dark horse and did a stage one upgrade with a set of 14 inch KST bars. I love it.
i love ur stuff tall ,,,,thankyou !!
Thank you, thanks for watching.
Great job brother ! Much Respect !! GOD Bless !!!
I have a 2011 Harley Street Glide and my next bike will be a 2020 Indian Roadmaster. Great review Tall!
Thanks for your honesty Tall . Love your videos God bless.
Thank you Brett, have a blessed day!
HD does the samething! LOL.................
Stress cracked frames!? Got any proof on that claim?
Thanks for the honest comparison, all things considered, the Glide is so much better looking..
Good vid and a great review Tall. I’d have to go with the Harley. I’ve previously owned a Street Glide and it’s a good bike. I also owned a Victory Cross Country and Polaris showed me how loyal they are... So Indian is a no for me.
Thanks for watching Big Smitty.
Traveling Tall your vids are really good! Great job!
Thanks for the review,I’ve enjoyed watching the videos.
Currently have a loaded Indian Scout and probably getting the Challenger next year.
Thanks for such a clear and detailed video. I like to hear different perspectives, especially from a Harley rider. I’ve had an HD in the past with a 103 and liked it. Test rode a 107 and didn’t like it.
Went in today to an HD dealer after my Indian dealer didn’t even say hello when I got there…
It just didn’t grab me.
Do the dealers stock motorcycle parts, and do they have the expertise to work on the bikes? That would be my concern?
Terrific video Tall one., Keep em coming.
What a great review! Straight to the point. Thank you!
Love the videos and reviews
The quality of the challenger video was exceptional thank you
I have owned a 2012 Roadglide special loved it
Traded for a 16 Roadglide in denim black
Traded that for a 19 Roadglide special
After my wreck moved to a BMW K1600b
Huge difference
I'm glad to see your assessment of the Indian Challenger it look like a well put together machine...I ride a 2015 HD Roadglide Special
Great review and content is always perfect
Excellent review. I own a challenger and I thought your review was honest and factual. Thanks
Good series on the Challenger! Keep doing your thing. Ride safe!
Good content and i like your delivery in speaking.....I just subscribed.....
I am planning on getting a Indian Challenger I just havr to take care of some things first. I was looking at the Scout but with me being a bigger guy I want something more my size.
With that being said great bike and great review stay Blessed.
great video tallman. I love my challenger. that 124 is awesome though.
Indian is giving Harley a run for their money. I have a 2012 Harley SG, next bike will be Indian challenger in white or gray. Thanks Tall, I appreciate your review. Keep up the good work.
A run for YOUR money!
I agree with the fact that Indian doesn't have too many dealers to visit. It was a big factor on me choosing my HD RGS
fair review .
Lol finally! Been waiting for this video since you got the Indian.
Nice review
I like you honest approach to your comparison. One of the things you mentioned you didn’t like was that everything was covered behind the motor. That’s actually what I did like, the Harley looks unfinished in my opinion. I own a heritage softail and it’s a beautiful bike, but I like my Indian better.
That was a great honest opinion, thanks so much!
Thank you tall
Enjoying the video! Love both bikes. Nice job kid
