    I would like to share another easy way guys. When you walk out go to level 3 (the top level) where the departures take place. Walk to where everyone gets dropped off and look for a Blue Bird taxi that has just completed a drop off. They will happily take you and they use meters.

      Absolutely and Kuta is 1.5km to 4km, Legain 5km, Seminyak 9km, but you pay more for waiting time than distance.
      Plus scooter useless if you have a suitcase.

      I once saw a blue bird taxi try and charge a lady to go from the airport to Ubud for IND 900,000 and I had just paid 250,000 . I've never even asked a blue bird a price since then.

      @@daveadair6983 Was it Bluebird or could it of been the almost exact looking Bali Taxi?
      (I only ask as Bluebird are pretty straight in my experience)

      @@73dlb It was Bluebird, the stand at the airport. We arrived the night before Nyepi. I had only ever paid 250,000 to ubud but that night I stayed at seminyak. Thankfully , I have friends that are drivers and told me the roads might be closed upto ubud when I arrive. But yes at the desk they told her 900,000. I think she ended up paying about 400,000 for non bluebird driver.

    Another tip is to turn right once you came out of arrivals at the airport and go up the lift to Departures. Go across the walkway and jump in a Bluebird cab that's dropping passengers off. We did this just recently in January. Got a Bluebird van that could take the 3 of us and all our suitcases/bags to Legian. Cost was AUD $7.

    Nice! Will be visiting Bali next week and was thinking by using kura kura bus to get out of the airport good thing I saw this video. So airport to seminyak should be around 30k idr via motorbike. Any recommendation on the cheapest data for 1 week, is it cheap to buy in Seminyak? Lastly money exchange, i will try to change small portion to get started in the airport any area in seminyak that has better deals? Thank you!

    • @PhilosophiesofTravel
      @PhilosophiesofTravel  5 лет назад

      yeh if you jump on the back of a gojek should be about that. Any phone plan place outside of the main tourist areas should get you a decent amount of data (around 5-10gb) for 100K. I was told once to be careful of some money exchange places because after they count out the money they sneaky drop a few notes on the floor, so be weary about high counters where you cant really see behind. But I have a bank account that lets me withdraw money without charging me fees, just simple conversion, this has been the best way for me so far. So Id say find a decent bank. Im not sure what banks are good where you are from, but look into that. Good luck!! let me know how you go :)

      As soon as you walk out and there are hundreds of taxi drivers in blue shirts hassling you to use them as a taxi, straight ahead will lead you to an underground car park, you dont want to go there, if you go left and walk for 5 minutes, you will come to another under ground car park, go through that, across a pedestrian crossing, then to another covered area where more taxi drivers will hassle you. To your right there will be the car park where the Grab and Gojek guys will wait.

    Bali, warning don't travel on a bike to save 5 to 10 bucks. I go there twice a year and have the same driver that picks up two of us and drives us to Legian for 150,000 15 bucks fixed even pulls over to pick up a couple of Bintangs, it takes anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes, no walking for miles getting lost or using app and try to get a lift or trying to get WIFI he just waits at the entrance to easy.

Ended up paying 200k to a taxi driver in a blue shirt he wanted 300k originally, but been all fun since then....sitting on beach vendor asked if I wanted a cold drink Pepsi... 20k he said, 7500 in the shop I told him lol
    So he never got my hard earned cash...went for a walk been asked if I wanted mushrooms, viagra etc
