Thankyou ... I've always looked for bluebird but did not know to go back to 3 floor and walk down the ramp ... money saved, more Bingtang !!!
I like your way of thinking, Always happy to see people save money, Thanks for feedback, We appreciate it.
Yes!! That’s the way to do it. Prices have skyrocketed recently, from transportation to hotels. Great video! Thank you 🙏
It works for us and good value, Hope it helps, Thanks for feedback.
Great tip heading up to departures to catch a Bluebird taxi! Will definitely be doing this the next time I’m in Bali.
Hope it helps, Thanks for feedback.
Excellent advice. We arrived yesterday and did exactly what you recommended. Declined all except last guy who came up and I listened to his dribble - Kuta for only 300.000. Told him he lost his chance and to his disappointment we jumped in a Bluebird cab. Was excellent and we were out of Kuta centre, which still only cost 87.000.
Thank for a great video.
Music to our ears to hear that. Love it when people can save some cash. Great to hear and worked out exactly it should.
We actually had to wait about 10 mins for a bluebird which was extremely rare.
Thanks for feedback.
You are more than welcome please keep up the good work. Thank you
Thanks for the great suggestion. Explaining how to identify a Bluebird taxi was good as the imitation ones can be deceiving if you’re not savvy. For first time visitors though it should be explained that Bluebird use a meter that is reliable unlike the counterfeit ones and that other taxi drivers quote a fare which as this video has shown can be no where near what the cost should be.
Thanks guys for informative video, will be following to watch more.
Your very welcome, love people saving money and having a good experience in Bali.

You guys use my husband trick. When he comes back to Bali from work, he heads upto departures to catch a taxi. That’s a good tip, long as it doesn’t make it harder for my husband now, haha keep up the good work. A real money saver there.
Im sure your husband will still find a taxi easy , Most people wont know that tip for a taxi. We appreciate your support. Thanks for feedback.
So clever
Live to save a few dollars, thanks for feedback.
Just wondering, there is no legit blue bird taxis in arrival hall? And why?
Airport control who can be preferred taxi company at the airport. They do it in the best interests of us im sure. (Or most likely them ) Hope you understand.
Easy pickings to when tourist arrives, not alot of competition so can charge more.
Thanks for feedback.
Been doing this for years. The local drivers don’t like people knowing this though.
100% correct, your a season traveler.
Thanks for feedback.
Great advise

Thanks for compliment, Hope it helps. Thanks for feedback
A very helpful tip 👍 My usual flight arrives about 01:30 so not sure many taxis dropping off on departures level at that early morning hour. I usually get one of the taxi guys in front of the parking lot for about 200k to Jl Tamblingan in Sanur.
Good point! As we agree at that time i would pay the 200K as that's still a ok price for that time and distance. Last flight is around 2am or so, so would not find a taxi in departures.
Thanks for feedback
@@BecMattAdventures Yeah, I think my Air Asia flight is the second to last of the night (morning). The taxi guys go for cheap because it's their last fare of the day.
Thx so much mate

Any food videos coming from Bali?😋
thanks for the clip!
Yes for sure, Stay tuned. Thanks for feedback
If I'm staying in Kuta, I always head straight to Departures to grab a Bluebird - very few people use this approach.
A couple of years ago though, I was staying in Tuban on Jalan Wana Segara - I simply walked there. If you know the direct route I took, it will only be a 9-minute stroll.
You sound like us, We know Jalan Wana Segara well. Stayed at Sulis Beach Hotela few times (same owner as Febris)
Saying that 30k Min spend in bluebird is still cheap. We like your way of thinking. Thanks for feedback.
If you want to know the exact route to walk from DPS ✈️ to Jalan Wana Segara, then search for the following on RUclips: "Arrival at Bali Airport 7 minute walk to cheap hotels". The channel is Made Fokker - the video runs for 8 minutes 22 seconds. Well worth watching. There is no talking, only background music. I reckon you pair could do your own video on this walk - would be more entertaining with Bec & Matt's commentary.
Great video, thank you for shairng this advice. I have a question though, i saw you commented below that you suggest setting up the Bluebird app in your home country. But the app wants a phone number and I will get an Indonesian simcard in Bali. So i'm wondering how it will work if i set-up the app now with my foreign number... Thanks!
Yes, absolutely. Set up in your own country as it need a phone number to send you a One time pin code, Once set up your phone no becomes irrelevant. Then you can put a indo sim in and it will still work as your phone number at start was to set the account up.
Hope this helps.
I'm looking to vlog my holiday, what camera setup have you got?
That video was shot with dji osmo action 3. Good unit, at night its not good in low light. Day time brilliant, we have just changed to dji pocket 3 , awesome unit.
If you can afford it go DJI pocket 3, if not then pocket 2 is good too and if you want more action camera the dji osmo action 3 or 4 are good.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for feedback.

I can't find your video on where to get Tourist Sim card. Any tips? I'll be staying just south of Ubud (between Ubud and Sukawati)
Hi, It's in this video at about the 1 Min 50 Second of the video. balisim2u.com/ All prices are on there. They come to you and set up. Easy at airport too but you just pay more for the convenience,
Hope it helps.
PS i think prices might have changed since video but all on website.
Great tip!!!
What is the price of bluebird taxis in comparison to a taxi ordered on the 'grab' app?? Is it much difference?
I found Bluebird to be cheaper, The issue of Grab in Bali is ive had multiple trips cancelled 4 times with grab , trips have turned out to be a nightmare, Bluebird only once i had a issue. So for us we always use Bluebird but its good to have both and use either 1 and have backup with other company, As My Bluebird app is what we use in Bali. I have found Grab to be unreliable for us at times. Advice use both but you wont be disappointed with Bluebird.
Not much different i guess but bluebird is just a bit cheaper in terms of price charge for the first 1km = Rp. 7,000 while grab for the first 1km = Rp. 8,750 but again other variables will follow: passenger seats, weather, etc. Back then online taxis (grab, gojek) used to be much cheaper than conventional taxi (bluebird), but demand increased, product improved impacting the price
We are heading to Lombok and landing at Denpasar in June. We will be staying overnight before heading to Lombok the following afternoon. Are we better to book a hotel with a pick up service? As we're arriving at night it may be easier.
Depends on what you prefer, hotel pick up is easy but expensive, depending on time you arrive, if before 9pm you should be fine doing our trick but if u want easy , could go 2nd option and just get a airport taxi ( the one with the price board in the video)
Recommend do what your more comfortable with.
Thanks for feedback.
completely ignoring the woman at the taxi booth is hilarious haha
Didn't have the heart to tell her that the prices were too dear.
Thanks for feedback.
isnt there also a Grab taxi area there too somewhere?
Yes walk out to carpark on arrival hall, its out there near the carpark. We have used them over years, Had a no show once and more expensive than a bluebird to tourist area we found. But yes you can use grab, we found our bluebird trick works consistently for us.
Thanks for feedback.
Thank you for the information... We 're in Bali late January 24 ... Very aware to use only the bluebird taxis but still coming to terms with the currency.. We will be wanting to go to Sunua so wondering if the 50.000 covers that ? Does the taxi driver know this going rate Thanks in advance...
To sanur i would allow 100,000 rupiah, $10 AUD or about $6.50 USD, just Make sure you get a Bluebird Group taxi, as there meter is genuine, any other taxi the meter wont be genuine., Have a great holiday
@@BecMattAdventures Gday .. thank you very much for your prompt reply... every little bit of information helps when youre not too savy.. On our last visit ' we pre ordered and paid Bluebird on line.. All worked OK , but unsure if its as effective as your advice... Cheers 😊
Hi guys. Thanks for the useful info and we are going in this week. We have couple of questions here. 1) Shall I ask blue bird driver before hopping in and the driver will tell the fixed price to the location or just pay as meter? 2) I have downloaded blue bird apps and would it be the same price? Thanks again.
At the airport , Being in departures just jump in a Bluebird Group taxi, he will start the meter 7500 Rp starting Fare About 50 cents USD for flag fare. Meter is 100% trustworthy and will be usually under (100K Rp $10 AUD, $6.50 USD) to most tourist areas around the airport It's around 35K to our spot in Kuta that $3.50 AUD so cheap, So just pay the meter. The Bluebird app is great and use that to book taxis once in Bali. At the airport though they don't allow the cheap Bluebird group taxis to operate even though bluebird group operates out of the airport (They call it Goldenbird , Very expensive) . But once you get to hotel and normal day to day getting around use the bluebird app to book a taxi (tip always book Bluebird van as the fleet is 95% these vehicles and not just Bluebird ( as this is car and not alot of them around and could wait a while before 1 turns up) Both are same price , so when booking on app, Book a Bluebird Van.
Hope this helps, Have a great holiday , let us know how you get on.
Thanks for feedback.
@@BecMattAdventures Thanks in millions for such a detailed advise. This is our very first time trip there and will reply about our airport taxi experience.
Hi, do bluebird taxis drive you all the way to Ubud from Dempasar airport? Appreciate your great tips 🙏🏼
Yes they can, in another comment, it was asked and did a calculation on the app, it was about 420 - 460k roughly for a bluebird to ubud. Probably similar price to a private driver.
Check other comments and its in there.
Its a 50 50 I would say, priv driver for similar money be easier.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for feedback.
@@BecMattAdventures Thanks a lot for the swift reply & help 😊
I looked at the booking app and Agoda and prices were 6 usd 9 Aud 95k idr from airport to hotel they meet you at arrivals and wait up to 90min it says . I use those apps a ton but never tried an airport transport …I used Kuta square and 10pm as destination
We have used some apps, and its been hit and miss at the airport, 2 pick ups and 2 no shows over the years.
Easy if it works though.
Thanks for feedback.
is ther any bluebird taxi que at the arrival? thanks in advance
No there is not. If you just do what we do its a great way to get a cheap fare out of airport. Goldenbird at the airport is owned by bluebird but is very expensive. The airport is very regulated, they don't allow Bluebird group blue taxis at the airport, they are cheapest and best and cars are super clean and meters genuine unlike every other taxi in Bali.
The dark blue taxis are airport taxi, fixed price from airport ( in video where there was price board)
Our taxi works long as you arrive before 10pm, if you arrive after get a airport taxi.
Hope this helps.
Thanks again, i will just follow your video. Go up to departure area and hail a bluebird there. More power to you.
Additional tip from me, 1. Dont get taxi if there an airport officer. Just get the taxi far from officer, actually this is not allowed to pick up in that area
2. Get closer to taxi driver while he busy pull the luggage to ask him if this possible
I apologize for the inconvinience and i considering this condition, please understand for condition due to high season happen only 2 times for a year. Hope you all enjoy bali.
Good to know, I havn't had any issues but its another good tip be discreet :D , Thanks for feedback, we appreciate it.
@@BecMattAdventures but, if this area crowded.. you are lucky make you easier. Your holiday is really helpful for people.. thank you for your coming
@@BecMattAdventures perhaps you could help make a video about stay in village and give information to others consider the spot tourism area get overload.
Will make a few enquiries, could definitely be on the agenda, will have to do my homework on that. Good tip, Thanks for the feedback.
@@BecMattAdventures i hope we could meet each other, still prepare my business in java and jakarta. Hope you have great day in bali
Wonderful info. Is that applicable for getting a cab all the way to Ubud? We (me and my wife with our 5 years old daughter) will be reaching Bali at around 18:00 hours and I assume another 1 hour for VISA and other formalities. Don't wish to take a risk !!
They will go to Ubud no issues, Another comment asked roughly how much and the Bluebird app said roughly 420K to 450K Rp to Ubud as a guide, So it might be easier to get a driver (if you want a recommendation at the start of our night market video, Our driver Made (marday) (called Made in Bali tour and transport on Facebook) there's a intro on him with his details and he can give you a quote, He will be there at airport and take you straight up, Otherwise i'm sure you will work it out.
Hope it all works out for you and have a great trip.
Thanks for feedback,
@@BecMattAdventures I had the same query...but you answered it well.
Just to add...if we book from klook it shows 180K from Airport to UBUD...any idea whether that includes the Rp 110K toll fee or we need to pay it separately?
Sorry, I don't have any up to date on Klook, so I can not answer regarding them, if you do go with klook, be sure to let us know as that could be a viable option, but who knows untill you try them. Just rather not people to have a bad experience especially hopping off a plane and have issues ;)
Thanks for feedback and sorry I can't answer that question as I don't know.
@@BecMattAdventures No problem...you have been of great help sir...
If I use klook, I shall surely let you know...for everybody's benefit 🤝
Do the Bluebird taxis go to Ubud and any idea on cost , thanks
Hi, I use the My Bluebird app in Bali (like Uber) and it gives you a basic cost of trip and its saying from the airport to Ubud is about 312k - 343k estimation 343k Rp = $34.30 AUD or $22.50 USD 1 way to Ubud, i have never done that trip but i'm sure it would be no problem if you choose to do it. My Bluebird app is great while in Bali , you can order your taxi and you know its genuine and cost involved, Would advise to set up the app in your country as its sends you a 1 time pin to activate your account, Then just set payment to cash. Too easy.
You might see on the TV screen (Airport taxi company- Dark blue cars) for airport taxi cost to Ubud and compare.
If you deal with them get a fixed price (so you know the firm price) as Bluebird group is only company have genuine meter and trustworthy.
Hope this helps
Thanks for your feedback.
Thanks for the reply and information 👍
would you know if these blue bird taxis would still be at the arrival around 10pm ?
Yes for sure, Alot of flights leave late. I see no issues catching a Bluebird from departures after 10pm. Hope this helps, Thanks for feedback.
@@BecMattAdventures yes it does! thank you !
Be careful with late night taxis as the last plane departs around 1 am so last arrival od passengers will be being dropped around 11 pm ( 3 Hours prior to flight departs) also most are to asian country so many come in a bus or private taxi. up to you
@@itsonlyjeremy
I have 2 big luggage with me and my hotel is in ubud do you think it will be easy for me to catch blue taxi via same method ?
In another comment , i looked up approx cost in a bluebird to Ubud was about 450K Rp ($45 Aud), With your luggage, Maybe a driver be easier and would be similar in price.
So for us we would go driver.
Kuta/Legian different story bluebird be best.
If your after a driver or get a quote, If you watch our Denpasar night market video , At the start we interview our Driver Made (Pronounce Marday) , and it shows you his details and can contact him through facebook.
He will look after you if you need a driver. Lovely man.
Hope that helps,
Be sure to let us know which way you go and if it works out whatever way you go.
Thanks for feedback.
So i can find bluebird taxi in departure area? what about using their app is that possible?
Yes , They are always dropping people off in departures. You could try the app , but i think they could get bit confused wanting to get picked up in departure. ( i use the app also , but at airport just jump in 1 at departures.) As in the video , its pretty easy just to go up to departures and jump into a Bluebird group taxi. Appreciate the feedback.
Thanks for the informations, i will do that
The My Bluebird app does NOT work at the airport, The contract bluebird have with Ngurah Rai Airport authorites only legally allows passengers to be dropped of at the airport by metered taxis, You can now book the Bluebird Electric taxis for less than quoted in the video. Kuta is 145 K @@ahmedfarag2994
Thanks for sharing a great tip, do you think I can still get a bluebird taxi from there after midnight? My flight would be landing around 12am.
Personally I wouldn't risk it. As last flight leaves Bali around 2am at the moment. You might be safer to get the 2nd option, official airport taxi, or book a driver.
You could always go up and see if any bluebird coming in and if not go back down and book a taxi if need be.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for feedback.
I'm going to take a look upstairs 👌 again, thank you for your help really appreciate it.
Can you get gojek at airport and are they cheap?
Not what we are aware of, Bali airport is controlled by the taxi mafia, I believe gojek is not allowed but can not say for sure.
I know Klook is available but easiest and cheapest we found is our trick. Worked every time for us.
As for everything else we find it's alot harder than it's need to be. Jumping in a bluebird at departures is easy and super cheap and not complicated.
Hope this helps.
If you do it another way be sure to let us know and see how you get on.
Thanks for feedback.
I know grab is available at airport, dearer than our way but that option is available as well.
@@BecMattAdventures hi. Wow thanks for the quick response. Definitely will try your method. Not travelling till early December 2024. Cheers
how much would you expect to pay to get to Sanur?
I would say roughly 120k to 150k rupiah, $12 to $15 AUD roughly.
Hope that helps.
@@BecMattAdventures thanks
Can we directly book bluebird taxi by having words with driver?
I'm not to sure what you mean, but I would say no. Best way is to exactly follow what's in the video. If you try your own way let us know how you get on.
Thanks for feedback.
We having flight drop at 12 AM midnight. Will this still work ?
I just looked up Bali airport departures and last flight is 2.15am
So I would say no unfortunately. I personally get a blue taxi at the taxi stand or just get a personal driver.
Your unfortunate that your probably just arriving too late for that too work.
2nd option is the Bali taxi stand probably next cheapest. ( where the price board in the video)
I'm not 100% sure but might be a surcharge after midnight but what else can you do.
Hope that helps.
You pay cash or card for blue bird taxi at the airport?
We always pay cash, as its always such a small amount we usually give a couple of dollars tip. Cash is still king in Bali, most places take card now though.
