The closest hotel for tourists when arriving in Bali is the Harris Hotel, enough to stay 1 night as a transit hotel, or you can also stay for a long time during your holiday in Bali, because it is close to Kuta beach... btw, the internet provider is very helpful for tourists... Thanks Gary.

I have an international data plan with my US carrier. Am I able to use that in Indonesia or do I have to buy a local SIM card?
@@MithriaFairborne i don't know about your data plan if you can use it or not in indonesia. Grab cars are available in 2 sizes from the application. Download both grab and gocar applications to make a price comparison as grab usually tend to be expensive around the airport.
Hi Gary! I love your channel and have found it super helpful. I went to the first sim card booth at the airport - the xl axiata one but it expires in 4 days. Do you know how I can get another/ or add time to it? I can't find anything online to help me. THANK YOU!!!!
It's just an option and the road is not so busy. I am just showing all the options so you can choose. 5 minutes walk from carpark to Harris hotel. Some have asked about esim but I don't really know what this is and what it is used for. I have lived in Bali for 12 years, I have 2 Indonesian phones and use xl and Telkomsel sim cards, i really don't know anything about esim.
Telkomsel sells eSIMs just outside the airport exit but I bought one from Airalo online before I came. The Airalo eSim - there are various combinations of duration and data available - is by Indotel which actually uses the Telkomsel network and is slightly cheaper than the airport option but, more importantly, it avoids getting tangled up amongst the army of eager SIM vendors outside the arrivals area after a long flight. It activated automatically on landing, has worked seamlessly so far and can be topped up online at any time if required.
Hi Gary, We are coming to Bali airport from Komodo (LBJ). We land at 14:55. That seems very tight time to collect your baggage then get transport from domestic terminal to Sanur harbour. It is doable if everything goes to schedule and you don't encounter any traffic. Ask your taxi driver to use the toll road (close to airport) and pay the extra so you avoid all the traffic on the bypass ngurah rai.
The fixed price ground transport counter shown in this video (19:51 timestamp of video) here, is that for private taxi or shared vehicle going to the specific zone in the price list per zone?
Grab & go applications are by far the best method of transport for getting around Bali, Transparant price, cost effective, safe & reliable. I only use these applications and so does everyone else I know that lives here in Bali. They are more expensive to use if using from inside the airport.
I think price shown in telkomsel and xl is data package cost. I think additional we need to pay for activation? So it may be higher than the price shown by them in video
Another very informative video Gary. Thank you so much- we all appreciate these. Can i ask what is a fully inclusive SIM? Am I correct in saying if you buy data only you can still phone on Whatsapp & Messenger?
Inclusive the data can be used for everything, prices in the airport include registration. Many sim cards from the street are split sim packages between data and apps.
I cannot confirm that as each atm machine is provided by different banks at the airport and I do not know the exchange rates as I personally hold an Indonesian bank. I would think that the atm exchange rates are the same in the airport & the city. Bank Charges do apply for atm withdrawls
I will be coming through Bali International airport on the 29th April therefore I will be able to answer this better after that as my visa is different so I don't really know how the visa on arrival system works. I will advise later.

It is: Are there POS machines in VoA counters at the airport? Can you pay the VoA fees by credit cards? If yes, any extra charges?
Sorry i cannot answer this question as i personally do not use the VOA & therefore have never being to the voa counters. This video is from the arrival hall onwards as filming is not allowed in the immigration area. It used to be payable in USD or idr now I do not know.
@@balibygary9718 It can be paid in USD in cash, I have come to know from another vlogger. The change, if any, is paid in IDR at current exchange rates applicable at the airport. I wish you had made a video from the arrivals area to harris hotel directly without stopping anywhere. it would have been a lot easier to understand the route. It's almost impossible to understand what the route to harris hotel is with this video.
I think it is very clear and easy to follow as you have to walk all the way through to where all the drivers are waiting to pick people up, then just turn right and walk in a straight line past the grab office on the left, continue straight from grab office through carpark until you reach the road then just follow the video, it's so straightforward to follow.
can i get grab/gojek to order me a ride to hotel from the airport, if i dont have the app ? i was going to buy a phone/sim card at the mall instead, then download the app ?
You can go to the grab or go car lounge and they will order you a taxi but all taxi prices from within the airport will be expensive even grab & go. You must walk to the harris hotel and use the applications or catch a street taxi for the lowest possible price. I do not recommend you catch a street taxi unless you know exactly where you are going and the approximate cost to your destination.
Anyone can you confirm whether telkomsel in airport is going to charge same rate as shown in the price banner they shown in the video? Or they are going to charge additional charge for activation ?

Do you need to buy a sim? Can you not just switch roaming off and use WiFi where available? We're coming in April for our honeymoon and find this a bit confusing
I think you can use wifi with your phone but I am not 100% sure on this as I have lived in Bali for 12 years and have an Indonesian sim card and purchased my phones in indonesia. Sim card is really for if you need to use internet access on the move.
I cannot answer this as I have lived in Bali for 12 years and therefore i only use Indonesian Rupiah. You will get charged from the bank here in Indonesia and also your home country bank. Also please note the maximum withdrawl amount per transaction here is only 1.5-2 million from most atm machines. You have to keep putting your card in the atm machine if you wish to withdraw more money adding further transaction fees. Permata bank has a 3 million per transaction withdrawl amount.
Unfortunately no. In Bali their tourist eSIMs can only be purchased at the Telkomsel booth outside the international arrivals or at the Telkomsel GraPARI outlet in Mall Bali Galeria, Kuta or the main outlet in Renon. You can buy an eSim online before you arrive from the likes of Airalo which is slightly cheaper than in-country and it uses the Telkomsel network anyway but note that the in-country Telkomsel tourist eSIM includes data and telephone whereas the Airalo one is only data. I've currently been using an Airalo eSIM for two weeks as I use WhatsApp for all my comms and it has worked just fine on the rare occasions when free wi-fi wasn't available or was down.

I think you can use wifi with your phone but I am not 100% sure on this as I have lived in Bali for 12 years and have an Indonesian sim card and purchased my phones in indonesia. Sim card is really for if you need to use internet access on the move.
How much is the ATM operator fee among the banks? Which one is the cheapest?
I cannot answer this as I have lived in Bali for 12 years and therefore i only use Indonesian Rupiah. You will get charged from the bank here in Indonesia and also your home country bank. Also please note the maximum withdrawl amount per transaction here is only 1.5-2 million from most atm machines. You have to keep putting your card in the atm machine if you wish to withdraw more money adding further transaction fees. Permata bank has a 3 million per transaction withdrawl amount.
@@balibygary9718 oh I didn't know the limit is that low thank you, that's more important.
@@licungR you can keep putting your card in the machine to take more money but you will have another transaction charge
Whether atm every time shows atm charges before withdrawing amount?
@@gowmara no i don't think so but not 100% sure. There will be charges from your bank and the indonesian bank atm machine
Can you buy Telcomsel with e sim before you arrive?
Many thanks for your question. I am not sure about this, I will ask at Telkomsel and let you know in the coming days.
@@Kembali-1607 many thanks for you help and information to the original question.
@@Kembali-1607whether Telkomsel Esim price is 250k for 25gb. ? Is it worth to buy it or order physical sim through klook which delivers at hotel?
Anyone knows blue bird taxi pickup point outside airport?
Bluebird also from harris hotel. They pass that street.
Whether SIM card shop at Bali airport are opened 24*7
They are open late
Do they also provide E-sim?
I don't know about E-sim sorry
Goldenbird Transport , really not that expensive .
@@simondunster2284 i show all options in the video it's upto you which option you choose🙂
@@balibygary9718 I saw that, but my point was you said Goldenbird was expensive, it's very reasonable, PT Bali even cheaper, 210,000 to Seminyak Petitenget , been quoted more by freelancers. But overall great vlog.
@@simondunster2284 golden bird is a more expensive option than others. It's all about what people are happy to pay, I just show all the options the choice is yours🙂
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Is it safe come out from airport to Harris hotel at midnight
I can say yes to this as i have personally done it but the only problem sometimes will be if you require car taxi you could be waiting a little longer later in the night.
@@balibygary9718 then I think preferred for me is to catch blue bird taxi at airport drop off location
@@gowmara i don't personally recommend that as that is not safe and has unknown costs. It's a toss of a coin getting a good honest driver doing that you have no idea who those drivers are and this is not officially allowed. But all is upto you on what method you use. I am just sharing all options available from the airport and my 12 years of living in Bali knowledge coming in and out of this airport many times. Grab & go application taxis are the only transparent prices and the only companies i and everyone i know here in Bali uses.
@@balibygary9718 can I schedule booking in grab? My hotel is just 1 km away and I am not sure whether grab driver will accept my booking? If km is less then my deny booking
How much money do people change?
I have no idea. I would only change as much as you need for arrival at the airport as the exchange rates are low.
If you think your flight is long then just wait until you have to get out of this airport, everything is horrendously slow.
Thanks for adding information about the situation at the airport😁
english please
I think he already spoke English just the accent is British
