*Ingredients:*
- 1 fresh banana stem
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 4 red chilli
- Salt to taste
- Curry leaves
- Buttermilk
*Procedure:*
*Preparation:* Peel and chop the banana stem into small, thin pieces. Soak them in water with a buttermilk to prevent discoloration. Grate the coconut and set aside.
*Tempering:* Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and urad dal . Once they splutter, add red cilly and curry leaves.
*Cooking Banana Stem:* Drain the soaked banana stem and add it to the pan. Add jaggerry, tamarind juice and salt. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes until it softens.
*Spices:* In a mixer jar add mustard seeds, red chili , and powder it. Add grated coconut and grind it without water. Add this masala to banana stem stir evenly with the spices.
*Serve:* Your Banana Stem Palya is now ready to be served hot with rice or chapati. Enjoy the wholesome goodness of this unique dish!
