      How tf is he underrated and under appreciate it. Cowboys fans are always on his nuts. The " if " he didn't get hurt , " if " he had a defense , " if " he had a o line. The excuses are too numerous for this OVERRATED fool. 2-4 playoff record in a DECADE.

      Chris E I know right! Acting like it's wrestling or something where there's one man out there. There's 10 other Cowboys on the field with him and 11 more when he isn't. Pisses me off when people say "it's a quarterbacks job to get a playoff win" he can't do that when the rest of the team isn't contributing. He deserves a team and fan base who appreciate him.

      he single-handedly cost his team a lot of those games lol.
      like that fumble against the hawks.
      being unable to connect with dez against the packers.
      sucking against the vikings.
      he led the offense - so what happened was mostly in his hands.

    Football is a team sport. Romo broke his back (literally) carrying the cowboys. Even a year where the cowboys defense was ranked dead last he still got them to the wild card game. If he had the necessary pieces around him he definitely could’ve gotten the boys to the super bowl.

      Ice Blü Tony Romo has one of the best touchdown to interception ratios of all time, one of the best qb ratings and should have won an MVP in 2014. You acting like 117 ints is a lot when Romo has 248 tds and a career completion percentage of 65.3. He has had only 2 playoff victories but some were due to bad luck (field goal fumble, Dez Bryant catch). Check your facts before you hate on my qb

  • @BrendenNichols
    @BrendenNichols 7 лет назад +8

    Tony Romo is quite possibly the most underappreciated player in league history. From a comeback win with a punctured lung to a multitude of fourth-quarter rallies, Romo was the most reliable quarterback in those situations. Sure, he also blew some games, but he is one of many who have done so.

    • @tomknapp6194
      @tomknapp6194 5 лет назад +2

      He didn't lose as many games as the haters would have you believe. Yes, he did lose some, but not all. There were a lot of times in which Romo did what he needed, but mistakes by others doomed the Cowboys. And still he unjustly took the blame.

      That was a perfect testament to the fact that no matter what Romo did, those around him still found a way to lose. He put up 48 pts that day. The defense? Oh, they only gave up 51 pts. Story of Romo's life. Carries the team on his back and gets blamed for every loss. Imagine if Romo had the defense that Prescott had this season? Dallas would easily be 13-3 and be in the NFC Championship this coming weekend instead of the red zone FG offense Dallas has now. He would have won without getting Cooper and even with Elliott off the field. He was that good. He just never had a defense that could limit the opposition scoring.

    • @tomknapp6194
      @tomknapp6194 5 лет назад

      @@scottmcman7659 All the haters can point out from that game is how he threw a late game ending interception. The real number that should be scrutinized is not 1, but 0. As in the ZERO punts forced by the Cowboys defense. Not a single one. But, somehow that's still Romo's fault.

      Charles Coleman sooooo Ben didn't always rely on his defense. I'm not saying Tony is bad either I'm just saying they aren't really comparable Ben has a ring (2) and Tony doesn't. It's like saying Kirk Cousins is better than Russell Wilson.

    The funny thing is with the haters, (which really considering the person he appears to be, is confounding) and with the media at large at this point, especially ESPN and their band of Hot take phonies, is that the general onus falls completely on the quarterback position. Of course there will be a diversity of opinion, but in this case I think it's always been completely unfounded in general, with snap judgement (without evidence or visual knowledge) based on his 1st year fumble on a FG snap.. Not too many starting qbs are placeholders, but it appears that even though he wasn't playing his position at the time, people have labeled him according to that result. They ignore the 110 career playoff rating and chalk it up to HE didn't win. Any team sport requires chemistry, every team sport generally requires coaches that are knowledgeable or at least competent- especially if they plan on doing any winning.. This especially holds true at the pro level. The defense making the plays in opportunistic moments. A running back that picks up that late blitz, a decent waterboy even that knows his team. So many pieces that go completely ignored in lieu of that fact that the QB, (while the most valuable position on the field) doesn't win the game by himself. He was never playing golf out there. Tony carried that dysfunctional (Jerruh led/owned/managed) franchise on his back for so many years, with a mediocre stable of bargain bin stars and "no namers" like, Laurent Robinson (did he catch another pass after he left Dallas?) or Miles Austin (did you catch him on his way out 2 years later?), 75 year old Terry Glen(n)?, deaf in one ear linemen, snaps over your head Sampson. I will go as far as to say that Jason Witten wasn't as good as Tony made him look (dude has like 15 career broken tackles)( hell of a blocker though) better than he actually was/is. Tony Romo is BY FAR and by the widest margin I've ever seen, the most underappreciated QB of this generation. As a fan, he has given me many many more memorable moments on his own accord than the moments of, "WTF IS HE DOING?." The year that Dallas as an organization finally started to shape up, Tony records a 113 rating with what? 35td and 9int? Only to be stopped short of a possible superbowl on a bad call against the packers (#IWAC), I will shut a hater down on a dime.. I've seen every snap of this great mans career and when it's all said he done he deserves to be in the hall with the other greats as an un-drafted free agent out of THE Easten Illinois (lol). Basically what I'm saying here is that if you call Tony Romo trash, not only are you a complete and total moronic buffoon, but im not sure if you really even belong on this planet. :P I pray that the cowboys meet him in the Superbowl and I pray that he burns them to the ground, what a story that would be and I would be rooting against my childhood team for a dude that deserves all the respect in the world as a man and as Elite Quarterback he is and always has been. In my books, he's the best quarterback Dallas has ever put on the field. I look forward to shutting you up if you have something to say.

    Thank you Tony, for all the ups, all the downs, & for always keeping us on the edge of our seats. I don't care what anyone says about Romo ANYTIME #9 was playing in the game, we had a chance to win. Yes he made mistakes, yes he failed short of reaching the ultimate goal of bringing a 6th Lombardi to Dallas... but regardless of his shortcomings & criticisms (some deserved, most not) I have no doubts at all that Romo gave us everything he had & sacrificed his body for our TEAM. Much respect to my favorite Cowboy of all time #9.

      Dak is a smart, talented QB. He is efficient and great game manager. And he is surrounded by an incredible offense. Tony never had that. Dak is special in a different way than Tony, he may never put up gaudy yardage or TD numbers, because, as in the Aikman era, they have a great RB and they are going to run a balanced offense. And this is in a league that is leaning pretty significantly on the side of the pass.
      Tony had at any one time a one very talented receiver (see Bryant, Owens) , a HoF TE, and some average receivers (see Hurd, Austin, Crayton). No RBs, no OL and one good defensive year (2008). You can trace the demise of the Cowboys defense to Woodson's retirement. That hugely impacted their run AND pass defense. They have never recovered from that. Fortunately, the DBs they drafted this year (Jourdan Lewis, Xavier Woods and Chidobe Azuwie) along with the Anthony Brown, Orlando Scandrick, and Byron Jones has that skill group set for years to come, barring injury or salary cap issues. The LB corps has two studs now and some good roleplayers. The last pieces of the puzzle are a TE to replace Witten (He can't play forever, hopefully Gathers can become as good a blocker as he looks like he will be a receiver) and a concentration on the DL and maybe a pass-rushing LB. I don't think anyone expected Witten to play at this level this long, which is how we lost Martellus Bennet. Future is bright, the Cowboys just have to manage that cap (which was instituted to break up the Cowboys dynasty of the early 90s). I understand players wanting to get as much as they can, because every game could be their last and the sport can ruin your body. But hopefully, there will be current players like Aikman (who restructured his contract 3 times after the salary cap to allow the Cowboys to keep as much talent as possible) Dak seems (at this point) like he is a team player who would do that sort of thing. We have a LOT invested in that OL (for good reason). So, we have to hope we have a few stars who are willing to take a salary hit for the team to get and keep a championship caliber team.
