I remember this game like it was yesterday , romo was such an under rated quarterback and for a couple of years during his career they had a hard hitting defense unlike now. I still believe not putting Romo back in when dak started because of injury was the biggest mistake they have made in recent history. That team was finally built for Romo and they kept him on the bench even when they saw what he was able to do in one drive vs philly. Roy Williams was a hard hitting seconds player , was a shame they never were able to pull out a ring with some of the talent they had.

Romo was one ring short of a trip to the Hall. He was that good. Lots of haters of him for various false reasons, such as calling him a game choker (reality: best 4th Q quarterback rating of anyone), calling him a December choker (best December QB rating of anyone), etc. He retired only trailing Aaron Rodgers in rating. That's right - above Montana, Unitas, Elway, Manning - all of them. MASSIVELY underrated QB.

Such a weird season (and great one obviously) for the Colts. Even after this loss, they were 10-1 going into December and were in prime position to get the #1 seed and home field throughout the playoffs, but then lost on the road to all three AFC South opponents that month and ended up dropping to the #3 seed and not even getting a first round bye, with a big reason being run defense. Then Bob Sanders came back from injury, the Colts D was rejuvenated, they shut down the Chiefs at home and the Ravens on the road, then got to come home for the AFC championship after the Pats upset the #1 seed Chargers in SD, and you know the rest.

It was the Cowboys defense, offensive line and running game that won this game but Romo fans give Tony Romo all the credit like he did it with the rest of the team playing like crap. When in reality when the team around Romo struggled Dallas did not win much, where as QB'S like Peyton took many Colts teams to the playoffs that had bad offensive line, running back and defensive play but when the Colts defense had a healthy Bob Sanders, Freeney, Mathis and decent running game Peyton Manning won a Superbowl not even a Colts or Manning fan but it's just the truth.

@@danielminton9056 I put more of Dallas loosing on HC "Special Olympics" Garrett. I would love for Garrett to coach pop warner, high school, & maybe college. But Garrett was & IS the reasons why Cowboys were less than successful for 9 straight seasons.
Garrett has a high football I.Q. but Garrett has ABSOLUTELY NO KILLER INSTINCTS / FOOTBALL INSTINCTS..He's at best a time manager. If Romo was given either a better HC or the ability to call plays / audibles like Peyton Manning, Cowboys would have won more games & had more post seasons. Romo is probably football's best student & master of
all facets of football. Romo can read defense on the fly as fast or faster than 95% of his contemporaries. Romo has a very accurate, strong, effective, quick release arm. Romo had the weakest teammates compared to Peyton Manning or even Dak Prescott. Romo isn't the highest paid sports announcer for no reason & he's getting paid more than ANY QB in the NFL currently.
Well have to wait & see if Prescott re-signs with the Cowboys & see how great the Cowboys can be without Garrett.

Yeah in 06 turnovers were a common part of the game for a qb. In 2016-2021, if you turn it over a decent amount while having the best pass blocking oline, you're trash. Rules are so easy now and dbs play far back. Prescott just throws jv high school passes most of the time.

Liam Kemelov Romo had a shit defense for most of his time in Dallas. Not many teams that go to the SB with a shitty defense. That's why Brady and manning had very successful careers because they always had defenses to help them.

That's the life of an NFL QB, win and your mistakes are forgotten - lose and your mistakes are magnified.
Manning got his team into the playoffs 15 out of 17 healthy seasons , got to 4 SBs , won 2 of them, won 5 MVPs , and set and reset several records.
Romo , as talented as he may have been, came up short ; and being the QB means you get the bulk of the praise or blame when it's all said and done, whether it's deserved or not.
