I know shadow is like a dark black covered version of sonic but under all that powers, skills, and attitude he's also the guy who wants to do what's best, usually. He may seems like a brooding, hostile stubborn, lethal, black hedgehog, but when world truly needed him he always chooses to protected. And the world will always needs the ultimate life form. Plus shadow couldn't resist a challenge.

Shadow in Sonic Adventure 2, Heroes and 06 is the true Shadow in my opinion but... My opinion has changed now after seeing he was a Tennis player so tennis shadow has now been added to my head canon.
