YES! I never see anyone react to Baying of the Hounds, one of Opeth's most underrated songs. So far all your favorite tracks are from the same album (Ghost Reveries). This is definitely my favorite of their albums, really the peak of their harsh / clean vocals blend of progressive. If you're more about the clean vocals you may like some of their newer material - Dignity is a pretty good track that shows the newer direction the band's taken. Personally I prefer the old, but basically everything Mikael touches turns out awesome regardless.
This IMO was the last truly amazing opeth album and at the end of their golden era. Just my opinion as I like some of the newer songs but they just don’t do it for me. I’m glad they are doing their thing and still making very unique music though. Opeth are simply legendary man!
Ghost Reveries is my favorite album of all time, i think you cant go wrong with any song from it really. Pretty hyped for your Serenity Painted Death reaction. Omega banger!
Great song. The culmination at the end of the song is one of my favourite Opeth moments, the drumming and growls are so menacing, the latter only matched perhaps by some parts in Serenity or Hessian Peel. If you like his cleans that much Burden and A Fair Judgement would be good choices for further listens. Cheers!
I have to say, this is one of the Opeth songs I always overlooked but watching this reaction with the song has made me appreciate it more! Thanks ! Serenity Painted Death is one of their best songs easily from my 2nd favourite Opeth album (Still Life). I would just say, expect *heavy*.
Haha wow you are the only one... I have had a few give me shit about the intro saying it sucks... Lol I actually love "Alone" more by them... Such an upbeat good song
Great reaction once again. "The Baying of the Hounds" is a track that is not often reacted upon, so thanks for that, it deserves your input and enjoyment of it. The album "Ghost Reveries" is a pure gem anyway. As for a track that does not suddenly start with growling, "The Drapery Falls" is another classic of Opeth, not so convoluted but so beautiful and powerful in its progression, that I would be glad you would react to : ruclips.net/video/Sh1cM1KH8z0/видео.html.
