In the first frames of this vid, you see a young woman walking along a path alone. You’re then shown a man who uncovers an axe, but before he can use it, another couple appear on the path. He then decides to not attack the lone woman. I wonder how many people have, unknown to themselves, escaped being murdered or attacked by the skin of their teeth.
I know of two myself
My first ex-wife and a fpormer coworker
Yeah. That totally gets me hard too.

I remember my parents and my two older sisters discussing this case that had occurred not far from our house at Teddington Lock in 53. I was too young to understand much but I recall a feeling of fear and concern. Now I understand what that was all about. Thank you Real Crime.
Murder maps is one of the best shows EVER! I look forward to these episodes SO much...everything from the story to the actors, to that fantastic host/announcer...This show is so incredibly done that it captures my attention every time...and I usually watch each episode a couple of times...and I don't do that with many other programs, but this one is SO good that I find myself fascinated with each new episode! PLEASE keep making more of these Murder maps!!!! Nicholas Day RULES!
1st time here, thanks for the info...
So damn good, as you say, one of the best...Top Shelf!!!🙏👍👻

I'm just getting introduced but I gotta say you're spot on ! I could listen to him read an instruction manual! Great show
That’s it. I’m removing all lumberjacks from my list of friends.
Love this series, Nicholas Day is a fantastic narrator!
I came across this Video and Fell I love with the Narattors Voice. I've had to rewatch this like 5 times because he keeps soothing me to sleep.....yeeeeeaaaah while narrating crimes
He does a masterful job for sure.
Its a toss up, the cockney accent of the suspect makes me want to puke
Sounds gay.
The cop took home the axe to use? After finding it in the car that a suspected murderer was just in? Ummm I'm going out on a limb and say, that's firing material.
I know right??? if he took it home to use it, he probably already had a perfectly good axe at home, even back then there was a concept of "don't fuck with with evidence/crime scene" that borderline incompetence.
@@El_Omar2203 Wrong - this was fabricated evidence just like the so-called confession.
Love this Series . The production is excellent with including the social issues of the time especially combined with historic footage when available . Nickolas Day already a enjoyable Actor to watch is Great as Host and those who contribute are great as well . But DR Judith Rowbothan is just Wonderful .
I can't believe it took until 1991 for the UK to implement audio recordings in interviews... We had the technology much earlier to implement it? That's interesting.
I heard that and said "wth" lol 😆
I can't believe your mother didn't implement birth control much earlier.
They also give super lenient sentences for murder. No parole means 25 years before parole usually. Real no parole is some nonsense called at the Queen's discretion or something like that. I've only heard about it used a handful of times. I think being convicted of rape gets you something like a 50 pents fine.
@@lsudx479 25 years is a lot in uk. Much more like 10-15 years for murder
@@lsudx479 They don't have the level of crime that the US does and they have much stronger gun control.
I love Murder Maps. I wish they would make more episodes! Or whoever made this series would make another similar series.
I hope that police officer was fired for BRINGING HOME AN AXE HE FOUND IN A SQUAD CAR! That was just plain stupid.
Yes. Actually for that negligence I think he should have served time.
could've been worse. he could've just decided to never turn it in knowing that he would be in big trouble if he did. he made a HUGE mistake, but at least he admitted it.
It's not called "stupid".....it's called THEFT....
Yeah seriously wtf was he thinking?! Wot a plonker!
Yeah. Mental
The fact that the cop took the axe home to chop wood, I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibilities that they coerced a confession out of him.
I have read a lot about this case. Even though I believe Whiteway was guilty, both the confession and the miraculous recovery of the so-called murder weapon when police need to find it but couldn't scream of fabricated evidence. The police staged all of their case against him because of gut feelings of his guilt they could not prove.
The way they did the reenactment was actually scary. It was done so well. The actor just quickly coming out behind the darkness with the ace swinging so quickly 😮 quire freaky! This show is done so well. One of my favs. Hope they do another season.
I love Dr Rowbothan, she's so intelligent and articulate.
Gotta love those UK Judges...criticising a defense barrister - in a death penalty case - for suggesting there might be police corruption. Corrupt policeman? What, in London?!?
Outrageous!
Seems like the type of UK bias/corrupt judge from the Johnny Depp vs The Sun rag defamation case.
This series is great. Love the narrator too because he does not behave hysterical like most narrators of these shows
A true host ,
In the purest sense
He’s British! 🇬🇧
The newspaper headline reads " Lighting kills 3 cricket players" damnnn 🏏⚡⚰️
I love listening to this site narrator s crisp british accent❤️😘🇯🇵
Then you havent heard Fred Dinenage.
I remember this case. News reports at the time reported the murderer was naked when he committed the murders. He jumped into the river to wash the blood from his body then dressed himself but he had kept his shoes on. Blood on the shoes was detected.
Why would somebody keep their shoes on and take off all their clothes?
@@merricat3025 Maybe he did not like hurting his delicate feet on the rough ground. The blood on his shoes sent him to the gallows
Why?? Why do people always say that the victims were at the wrong place at the wrong time? It makes more sense to say that about the predator.
Because, by no fault of their own, they were in the presence of a killer. The killer was in exactly the place and time they wanted to be. Another way to put it is that it was a coincidence, a grouping of random factors that came together to create the circumstances in which someone was killed.
I’ve always hated the expression. It seems to me that it’s victim blaming.
I hate that saying. Most times they are exactly where they should be in the course of their everyday
lives.
I guess it's just a way of saying that it was bad luck they happened to be there that day. Still a kinda annoying saying though I agree
The victims are in the wrong place at the wrong time outside of their homes. But when a victim is killed it should they were in the RIGHT PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME! Your home is never the wrong place for any person to be. Ijs 🙄
Coward killers. They only prey on the weak and vulnerable. Sickos.
Yeah, so much for morals, remorse & humanity, the reason these killers seem to show no remorse, no accountability is they didn’t shave these thing before the murder, just truly either a bad soul or no soul.
Exactly my sentiment
Nice they mention Rosalind Franklin as one of the discoverers of the structure of DNA.
Are we just gonna gloss over the fact that one of the articles in one of those newspaper said that lightning killed three cricket players? I know and I realize that it’s not the subject of this video but like I want to know more about that now….
Why on earth would a police officer take home something found in a police car??
Cheap skate wanted an ax to chop wood
Perfect Narrator, too!
Killers are by definition, not the best buddies to be around. But especially those who pray the weak really sicken me.
Nothing worse than a human predator. What sort of things lurk in the mind of someone who fantasies and carries out such attacks? Just horrid.
Fine example of latest technology with the picture of a man using metal viewing tube on boat in the Thames. 😉
I'm really glad they chose the reenactment style that realizes it doesn't have to go into detail of the violent acts to get the points across. The blend of actual crime scene photos, evidence is perfect mix with the acting. I usually don't like reenacting because I don't care to see a actor play out violent acts. I'm more into analysis of the evidence and details and actual crime scene photos, I can handle twisted things it's just the acting out violence seems unnecessary to me to grasp the concept and criminal behavior. So it's just a pet peeve with reenactments then "not liking disturbing stuff" I'm all for learning intense shit. Anyways this show surprised me with how well they did this.
BAH!!!.....
HUMBUG!!!!!!
It's not all about you Karen 😂😂
Blood and guts would be more realistic.
Love this video 📸 Good job and love the narrator . Delivery is Everything right 😊 ty. First thing I watched when I got up this morning 🌄 Lovely 🌹
I am so glad I have discovered tis channel.
For all those who are commenting on the lightning strike 🌩️ killing three...this just happened in Washington, DC across from the White House in Lafayette Square. (This is not far from my home.) Three people were killed and a fourth person was critically injured while standing under a tree in Lafayette Square to escape a thunderstorm. This occurred on the evening of August 6th, 2022.
Yeah it is surprisingly quite easy to overhandedly whip an axe at a given target and find it's target. Almost every time just like the tomahawk
A hand held small axe is perfectly designed to fly end over end and not diverging from its intended target due to the effect of yaw like when a bullet begins to turn end over end
The fulcrum point obviously is the axe head because of the weight
If the cops ever have to look at my computer, you guys are going to get me in trouble.
You think the cops will care if you watch true crime? Smh they wont
This series is awesome! 👌🏻
Ty for another amazing video 🤠
Awesome series. I'll soon be binging it.
I think the inspector was under severe pressure to solve this case and crossed the line to help secure a conviction of this guy
The cop who took the axe home and used it to chop wood was dumb as fook.
this is real quality content
Good to see speedy justice for a change…..
Can u imagine two cops neglecting to find a frigging AXE on a suspect they just put into the backseat of their squad car??? They're lucky that lunatic didn't just decide to cave their heads in as well!
😂🤣 i just scrolling through the tube high as fuck and see "this killer threw AXES at his victims" and LOL ...have to watch this.....Give the guy that writes these titles a RAISE!😂😂
wait! lightning kills 3 cricket players? I wanna know more about that.
I really love the english accent. I use to live in London and I miss it.
Taking a TC break from Jubilee celebrations, and first off the narrator discusses the coronation of Queen Elizabeth ll.
Brilliant! 👏 👑
The whole axe story is very unbelievable in my eyes. I wonder if it was really the murder weapon.
Forensic pathologists are specifically trained to recognize the marks left by all kinds of things that might be used as weapons, including knives, machetes AND AXES.
We already know that Whiteway had an established reputation for throwing these things. An axe is heavy and has a large blade. If you are skilled at throwing one I don't think it would be that difficult to kill someone.
Ha ha i hid an axe in a police car too. They picked us up for burglary and i had it on me. Put it underneath the cop's seat who was sitting in front of me. They interrogated us and i just took it back when they dropped us off afterwards. Needless to say i was pleased....:😂😂😂

This must have taken a lot of work.
Wrong place at the wrong time is almost always used incorrectly. They were in the right place at the wrong time
Please misogynistic killers are just the worst and deserve the worst
Yeah it’s even better than Gone With the Wind and Johnny Quest
His last words to each victim?
“May I axe you something?”
Lol
😂😂😂
I snorted tea up my nose.😆😖
What a beautiful queen Elizabeth and such a majestic procession for the coronation
I love this videos
My lord, Queen Elizabeth was so beautiful 😍😍❤️❤️.
I thought she was coronated in 52
Became Queen in '52, coronated in '53.
I guess the people who were killed by lightning had never been taught that it is extremely unsafe to stand under a tree during a storm. Lesson learned, unfortunately. Now I'm waiting to see if anyone asks why it is bad idea to take shelter under a tree which is probably the tallest structure in the vicinity, during a storm. ®.
Anyone know the narrator's name ??
It says Nicholas Day in the credits that roll at the end.
I watched to the end only to make sure Alfred got his rope.
1991? Dam
This such a well done series, but a terrible story
"Smart gloves"
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea !"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"

Not the brightest star in the sky.
Ah yeah…
Before modern contraception life was very grim indeed
Thank the law capital punishment still existed
London Dark side .......
The death penalty has always been a nonsensical punishment. Killing a person is wrong so the penalty given by the court is to kill a person.
Killing or capital punishment of a murderer is to ' put evil out of the land.'
Murdering a murderer is just absurd
They should loose there lives for taking life .

The costumes in this series are sometimes correct for the era, sometimes hybrids of different eras or totally bogus such as tight, synthetic pants with spandex in the early 1950s. It's confusing and annoying..
