“The hemming is going to take a really long time guys”
Me who has no sewing machine and does everything by hand: I’m counting on it :)
Same 😂
@@vrepitsa1083 wow you two must work so hard doing all it by hand
God that patience is something I can only wish for
I tried stitching a dress by hand since I don’t have a machine either and damn, I just couldn’t do it. Maybe also because I have no skills🥲
I look up to you 💪
I just bought my first sewing machine and I cannot express how excited I am to ruin a sheet and try to make this dress
Update: I may have overestimated my abilities
Omg how exciting!! You should totally go for it!!
Just finish it. My first dress wouldn't zip and I couldn't take it out
That’s amazing! I would love to see it! I’m thinking of making a dress but I’m not too sure...
Maybe try something easier, but sure go for it
Welcome to the world of sewing...YOU'LL NEVER HAVE MONEY
I love the dress you made way more than I like Selkie dresses: the way you designed is very flattering
Thank you so much!!😄✨

Yayy! Both of those dresses are so funnn!!!😄
(this is just for me to remember)

I like how I watch these tutorials like I’m actually going to do them when I have no sewing talent.
same but i'm going to try!
Lets go U can do it 😈💕
Relatable
Sewing is a skill not a talent.
I’ve noticed an increase in how many young people are sewing over the past thirty years, and I think it’s great! You make it look easy as you sew on that silky fabric!
I’m actually very excited to see the finished product because I know it’s going to be beautiful!
I MADE THE DRESS!! It was so simple to make with her guidelines, usually I always find the fabric tooo tight or loose but luckily her measurements matches mine and it’s all just perfect!!! . I love the fact that all the patterns are so adjustable. Totally recommend making this!! Love your video XX 🍓💌
hiiii i just bought the pattern, but i'm wondering if the seem allowances are already included or if i need to add them... could you please tell me if you remember ? thxxxx
@@liloualoui8190 hiii as far as I remember i had added my own seam allowances
Can I ask about the length unit used in the measurements please
saving this for when i randomly have a sewing machine, fabric, and the knowledge to sew
I saw the dress on Pinterest a while ago and was trying to find a good tutorial for it, so thank you! I think I am going to adjust the sleeves to be a bit longer for the one I make.
That’s so awesome! That will be super cute!!☺️✨
@@PaperStxrs at 15:00 do we sew the rectangle into a continuous loop or just a long strip or both their own smaller loops? I am confused with the video and the pattern instructions
I love how you didn't make it super short but it still turned out really well! It doesnt have to flash ppl to be super cute!
Oh my goodness this is the dress I had when there was a dance in 1959 advancing to 7th grade. You did such a beautiful job thank you for showing this project. It took me back to such pleasant memories. We used coffee and tea all the time in addition with vegetables to die our fabric and fabric shoes to match the dresses. Perfect length and the fit is right on. Thank you again
i have such a strong admiration for people who can make their own clothes. bravo!!!
I'm so glad this turned up on my recommended, the dress looks AMAZING. I have to agree with you ab the cut of the dress, the way you kind of changed the waistline makes it so much more flattering. ❤️
Ahh thank you so much!!☺️
I decided to sew my own wedding dress, and i knew this was what i wanted. Im so so glad for this tutorial its going to help out so much this year 👏🏼👏🏼
me: *just minding my own business, making a dress*
my mum: why are you making satin soup?
To feed my serotonin
These types of dresses are a babydoll style and I’m in LOVE with them!
So dreamy!! 🤩✨It's funny you posted this now, I've been planning on making a pink version of this dress for myself! I made the bodice and then abandoned it ages ago, but after seeing yours I might just have to dig it out of my stash.
You totally should!! This dress is so fun!!✨
omg i´m planning a pink version too, Liesl Von Trapp vibes
THAT TURNED OUT REALLY PRETTY
OMG YOU HELPED ME OUT WITH THE SLEEVES!!!! So like I was trying to make a dress similar to this but I just couldn’t get the sleeves right !THANK YOUU AND YOUR DRESS IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!
YAYYY I’m so glad it was helpful!! Thank you so much!!😄✨
I really wish I understood what you are saying half the time whilst making the dress cause I want to try make it for my friend but I legit don't know anything you just said like what's a basting stitch, darts???, I don't even k n o w
Basting stitches are long running stitches (just going in and out of the fabric). Because the stitches are so long if you pull on the threads it will gather or pull the material together. You also use it to hold fabric pieces together before you sew on the machine so the pieces don’t shift. A dart adds shape to the fabric. So for example if you put one at the bust line, you’ll see a stitch that forms a triangle, with the triangle point ending at the bust. A visual is probably better. They’re are so many sewing tutorials out there for beginners. I started with a simple circle skirt!
@@IJUSTNEEDASTUPIDUSERNAME ooo thank you so much for explaining! I'll try find some beginners videos since I really want to make some dresses during the summer holidays
Same, I actually wanted to learn sewing years ago but Idk where to start.
My mom told me to try the sewing machine but it's those old manual one that I have no idea why but I can only spin it backwards.
have you looked at Annika Victoria's YT channel? they have beginner-friendly tutorials for some really cute clothes!
This dress is what id wear to the courthouse if i ever chose to get eloped🥺
Exactlyyyy🥺❤️
I'm here for this exact reason!!
This is perfect! I love the floofiness of those other puff dresses but don't like the no waist line or how short they are! Can't wait to try this!
i'm glad someone agrees that the poofy empire waist on the other dresses doesn't work. gorgeous dress, i'm super inspired to make my own
That dress is literally one of the prettiest dresses I've ever seen! :0
Sound of Music "16 going on 17" vibes. So, so lovely!
This is just the sweetest dress I've seen in a long time!
Aww thank you so much!☺️☺️
I had some fabric laying around for *years* and I think I'll recreate this out of it! It won't be white but dark red, but I think it could still look very cool😍🤞🏻
Thank you for the inspiration!
Ooh dark red sounds so cool!!!🥰
The fact that she turned the sewing tutorial into a vlog make this more exiting and fun and gives you more motivation to do it ! thank you!! (I'm exciting to ruin the dress because I have my sewing machine only since about 1 month!! yay!!)
you move like a princess u r so pretty😩‼️
Aww thank you🥺
i’ve made a skirt before, but never a dress. home coming is coming up and my fabric just got here today. i’m so excited to make the dress!
It looks beautiful on you! Especially how it moves in the wind!
Thank you so much!!☺️✨
I have been trying to sew the same dress for three days now without a sewing machine and your videos are so inspirational
OMG, I am OBSESSED! I love this so much!!! Well done!
Ahh thank you!!!😄🌼
This dress = the most beautiful thing I've seen ALL DAY!! 😍 I love it, well done!
Aww thank you so much!!☺️✨
I bought this pattern and with minor adjustments I made my daughter's prom dress. I was lovely. Thank you.
Like an off-duty Disney princess. ✨
So beautiful! And I love your changes to the Selkie bodice. The empire-line is SOOO unflattering on basically everyone
Usually, sewing videos with a lot of talking make me uncomfortable, but u're always so excited that I get excited too and I like to sew while listening/watching your videos for company
Aww thank you!! That’s so cute!☺️✨
Love this dress! Have you considered recreating a Teuta Matoshi dress?
Thank you! I actually haven’t, but that’s a good idea! I’ll look into it!☺️✨
i love all your projects so much ahhh so cute!!! you inspire me so so much and motivate me to work on projects of my own! i hope you continue to share your wonderful work with the world and i can't wait to see more from you! :)
Thank you so much, that’s so kind!!💛✨
This is so so so good!! I’ve been dying to make a dress like Selkie’s ever since I found them online too. You deserve so many more subscribers!! This tutorial was literally so clear and helpful :)
Yayy! I’m so glad it was helpful! You should totally give this dress a go!☺️✨
this is one of the most beautiful dresses i have seen! i wish i could make one myself, maybe some day after tons of practice
Aww thank you so much!! You should just go for it!!☺️
omg i completely agree that when it puffs out right under the bust it's unflattering. yours is so much cuter
Buying the fabric right now, I need to make this! :) Thank you for such a good tutorial
that's so exciting!!!
how did it turn out??
I’m literally suprised when i click on this video and a gorgeous human suddenly popped out 😭 and the dress is so pretty!!!
It's so pretty and flowy, amazing job!
People who can make their own dress are so lucky 😍
Making this dress will update throughout process
Update many months later:
I got most of the pieces cut out three months ago then got caught up with life and forgot about it BUT my birthday tea party is this weekend and I have nothing to wear so it’s time to buckle up and finish this dress will update again soon
Sooo... How did it go?

Some people r just born talented , and your one of them

진짜 솜씨 좋으시당… 패턴없이 구냥 딱딱 하는군…!👍
This dress is absolutely gorgeous 😍😍👏
Thanks so much!!☺️✨
Kudos to your bro for being the best cheerleader otherwise we wouldn't have this amazing version.
ahhh omg this looks amazing, so glad that someone made a video on the longer version! quick question, for the inner organza + satin skirts, are they half or full circle skirts?
Thanks so much!!☺️ the satin layer is a half circle skirt, and the organza is a full circle skirt✨
the dress is so cute!!!!
The dress looks stunning!😭
this is honestly my dream dress, its so simple and pretty
SO FLIPPING CUTEEEE
Thanks so much!!✨
I don't think y'all understand- I am OBSESSEDDDDD😩
How exciting! Love the dress
Thank you!☺️
This is SO CUTE I'm literally obsessed with your channel!!
Ahhh thank you so much!!☺️
Can anyone believe, that, I, saved, this, pin, yesterday, on, my PINTEREST 😱😱😱
Hehe good timing!!✨😱
Props to people who make dresses 0_0 the time and determination damn
I've been wanting to do exactly this! Thank you!!
Respect. I like the dress a lot. It makes you look so light like a feather or a butterfly. And very romantic too.
Looks like an angel.
Don't tell me her favorite color isn't white.
She is the person Harry Styles sings about in "Only Angel" and no one can change my mind
All this silky fabric is making me have flashbacks of making my daughter’s prom, and homecoming dresses.
I love it,,, so cute, but I think the original silhouette is still quite chic and this one is more palatable
Wow, the dress is so gorgeous and your tutorial is so easy to follow and explains everything so well, thank you thank you thank you
Ahh thank you so much!!☺️✨
Love this! I thought that the bodice of the original dress was a little too childish for me, since I already look younger than my age, so this is a much better option.
Wow, this dress is AMAZING! If only I could sew... I just love dresses more than anything else
Thank you so much! You should just give it a shot for funsies!!☺️
I really enjoy the fact that you adapted the dress to be more flattering, because i agree that the original is unflattering. And the way you pulled it off was perfect!
It turned out soo pretty. Already planning my spring/summer wardrobe and dressing up for absolutely no reason
Yayyy!! Dressing up for no reason is the best!!✨
Thank you for uploading!!!
Haha my pleasure!✨
family just moved into a new house, and my mom said we can have a permanent sewing machine out. i am so excited to buy this pattern and attempt this when everything is set up :]
I NEEDED THIS!!
this was so cutteee. that dress turned out so pretty ✨
Ahh thank you so much!!🥺
Good thing I've decided to make this literal dress yesterday too lol :'D
I don't know a thing about sewing and I'm watching this with my mouth open but your videos are enjoyable, wish i could learn sewing one day
thank you so much! you should totally give it a shot!!✨
This is so cute!!!
Ahh thank you!!🥰
just wanted to thank you for making this video! i found it a few months ago and decided to make a slightly shorter version as my graduation dress. i'm completely in love with how it turned out and wanted to express my appreciation for the inspiration you gave me
i’m going to try making this dress for my 18th birthday!
You're talented The channel is so underrated!
Hi, what are your body measurements? You look about the same size as me so I might be able to use the same pattern measurements you made.
Hi! My waist is 25”, my bust is 32”, and my hips are 34”. I am also 5’9” for reference! Good luck on the dress!!😁✨
That dress is gorgeous on you! I love those types of dresses
my cottagecore heart is in love with this dress🥺🥺
ally this is literally everything
also, if you ever made patterns to sell i would so buy this one bc i suck at patterning myself
You used two of the most *difficult * fabrics ever, and it turned out absolutely breathtaking! #Goals. 🤩♥️
Edit: That strawberry sweater is amazing. Where did you get it (if you don't mind sharing 😁)?
Thank you so much!!😄 I got that sweater as a gift, but I think it’s from YesStyle✨
I saw this video and instantly bought the materials! I chose a baby blue tone instead of white and I'm so excited!!
Me who doesn't know how to sow, even though I have it in school: Aha I see, easy. Maybe I'll do that too.... Oh shoot idk how to👍🏻
Love your videos ! Thanks for showing us and giving us the confidence to make our own clothes ,you make everything so clear 😊
I will make this one too🤗🤗🤗
Seriously! That's the one, the prettiest I've ever seen! I love it so much! Congratulations for all your hard work making this pretty dress, it was worth it! ♥️✨
omg it looks so good!!! also just curious, is the fabric from FWD good quality? I've seen a ton of bad reviews but it looks AMAZING here.
Thank you!!😄 it’s not the highest quality, but I’ve never had any problems with it and it’s super affordable!👍🏻
