    This has been sooooo helpful! I'm taking on my first sewing project (there aren't any online listings for the cosplay I want so thankfully the design is simple so making it myself shouldnt be too bad!) And I feel so much more confident about being able to get the sleeves down! My only question is: at the end you showed some examples of the sleeves on cosplays; which version was the third example (the purple with the apron)? It almost looks like a puff at the hem with maybe a slight gathering at the top but it's hard to tell with the apron and the dark fabric? It's basically exactly what I'm going for tho!

    Thanks for the video. When do we do puff sleeve by increasing cap height and when when do we cut it horizontally and open it up (your method)?

      My pleasure. You extend the cap height when you are wanting to add some extra puff in the head of the sleeve

    Hi! Love this tutorial for puff sleeve sewing. Btw, A friend of mine is asking if you have the pattern for the sleeves you made at 5:46? :0 Because its the perfect type of puff sleeve she is needing right now! Thank you!!

      Did you used the second method and gathered the stitch at the top and bottom of the purple maid outfit or just the bottom puff sleeve?

    3:02 i do feel you should put a disclaimer about IronOn interfacing and different fabrics, namely that some fabrics have stretch and if you apply interfacing like you do, it could stretch the fabric and so distort the final look. Placing the iron on a section for a second or 2, then moving to another is the recommended method, this way you'll melt the 'glue' and avoid stretch.....but HOW can i tell Kirilee off??? i feel so bad, but it had to be done...BUT i do need puff sleeves for a project and this was very timely AS EVER with Kirilee

    • @KirileeCosplay
      @KirileeCosplay  5 лет назад +1

      An interesting method! You didn’t tell me off ^_^ i probably in this case would use sew in interfacing rather than iron on but then, either way the fabric will no longer be stretchy.
      Not a bad thing considering that puff sleeves don’t really call for stretch as it is about adding volume- does that make sense?
      But nothing to stop using stretch fabric :)

    • @CallMeMrRook
      @CallMeMrRook 5 лет назад

      @@KirileeCosplay but fabrics tend to have stretch on the bias so if u ironed in that direction you could push the fabric and so out of shape... now I agree that these are puff sleeves and not normal hanging sleeves so the distortion would be shaped in with the gathering etc.
