  • The 1980 World Series was one of the greatest that was ever played. As a matter of fact, game six was the most viewed World Series game ever at that time. There were tremendous talents that played for both the Kansas City Royals and the Philadelphia Phillies. Names Like Brett,Carlton, and Schmidt. The series was back-and-forth through the first three games. With the Phillies leading the series 2 games to one, but in the fourth game, they momentum changed and Kansas City had the advantage. Until, the most famous game changing brushback pitch was thrown. This is the story of that pitch.

    Thanks… this is fantastic! I was a 10-year-old and a huge Mike Schmidt/Phillies fan growing up in Iowa watching this back when baseball was king.

    Great video. That was a great World series. I was a big fan of Brett and the former Reds on that Phillies team so I remember watching this.
