Not to be a negative Ned, but I don't know about that stove being on that outside corner wall. I can see a hot flame and a pot putting too much heat on that wooden wall. I just don't know if it should have been more towards the middle
I would not use a stove/oven placed next to a wall or other appliance. I preferred the original layout of the cabinets. I do not think it is safe and I feel having cabinet & counter space next to the cooking surface is essential.
Love me some Jen! She’s a good woman in my book. Happy, caring, funny, hardworking and always finds the joy in simple things. She is a national treasure and deserves to be protected at all costs!
At the 14 min 50 seconds point I laughed out loud because every single time I'm catcher for my husband's cuts he gives me the same little pep talk you gave Jen.
Completely laughed out loud when you two were goofing off trying to keep pressure on the countertop! That’s fantastic. If don’t do that kind of stuff when you’re doing home renovation projects…you and I probably aren’t friends!
Loved your poses!😂 Seeing such a fun side of you guys seemed to make you more 'real' than just watching the daily grind of living off grid, which there's nothing wrong with that, I enjoy it! I'm just trying to say that you guys are too cute!!! 🥰
Be careful with the front left burner in that stove if that's a vinyl window. It will warp or melt it. Also not sure that wood wall next to the burner is a good idea but it looks good
Jay, I recently unboxed my dual fuel generator and in the manual it stated to wrap the fuel fittings and anything Propane related fittings when storing because of spiders making nest and clogging them up. You might have had some of the gas leaking because of that and once it opened up the blockage, it caused more gas to ignite and making a flash of extra gas burning at once. Same goes for outdoor gas grills. You have an compressor, so it might be wise to blow off all those cob webs after sitting in the garage/shed a while.
I wanted to let you know something. I was watching this video where a man who built his cabin used his side-by-side to put his tall ladder in so he could do the roof. He said it wouldn't go anywhere especially when he also tied it down. I thought you might like to know that in case you were to build another building some day. I love the kitchen!!!
A little concerned about the stove in the corner. How are you going to get a pan with a handle on the left side burner? Isn't it going to hit the wall?
Laughter is good for the soul. Keep laughing Jen.😊 The kitchen layout looks nice. Looking good doesn't always have to be expensive Looking forward to seeing what you two get into in 2025
I love Jen's laugh. Don't listen to those "naysayers." A merry heart doeth good like a medicine. Proverbs 17:22 A happy wife is a healthy marriage! Jen, be yourself! We love you.
You both lucked out with your other halves! You are a long way from everything and have each other to live with and love! Hopefully we all will have a happy and healthy new year!😊🎉🎉
The kitchette looks great! I like the contrasting countertop with the cabinets and walls. Amazon has several RV sinks advertised, fold down faucets and covers. I bought 2 for my "under construction" cabins, they were $120 each. Really nice additions to the cabin! Love what ya'll are doing 😊
Happy New Year! Keep bringing the updates. Love the kitchen and I see red curtains and decor keeping the happy joyfulness into your kitchen. Love you being you, Jen. You are a beautiful lady! A delightful, creative, talented and innovative couple that bring us along to enjoy your life in Michigan! Whether you smile, laugh or cry I enjoy your goodness in sharing your journey with us! Peace and Blessings to you and yours from another Michigander!❄
Jay love and enjoy your videos. May the lord bless and protect you Jay and Jen and working on the homestead. Happy New Year Jay and Jen working on the cabin. Looks outstanding. Happy New Year Jay and Jen
Ooh love the worktop (that’s what we call countertops here) it looks great, what a fab way to end the year, watching you two, and Jen l can’t wait till you’re baking in the mini cabin too lol, Happy New Year guys 🫶🏻, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Lowe's often has countertops greatly reduced, however, what you got works well. Live edge natural sawmilled epoxied countertops are beautiful if I stated it correctly. I have seen some in home built campers and log cabins and they were amazing if you ever get tired of what you have and have time to make them.
Some walnut nobes for the pull out drawers... and trim around windows so its cowardanated in the look. I don't think I would stain too dark on the walls and cabinets as its going to look fine.... practice out in the parking area to see what looks good for off setting color matches... floor should be fairly light to keep the dirt from spoiling view.... happy new year kids
"I like the cupboards, Id stain " Sage green" OR just poly them as it would go with the countertop". "You don't want Cabinets too dark though as that would close the cabin in I feel. "... going to be a nice kitchen You two are such a cute couple , All the best in 2025 folks se ya then.. London, Ontario,
I put down a sheet of plywood over the cabinets 3/4 thick screw it down then no more the counter top to plywood plus strengthens the counter top but you can do it however you want what ever works
You might consider installing a diesel heater for your cabin, they are very efficient,i have one installed in my garage , it works really wel, purlchased from vevor.
Nice work J and J!! The kitchen is looking great! Love the dark wood counter top. Happy New Year Jay, Jen, and the Pups and keep on smiling and laughing Jen.
Love the dark color of the counter top! Its a great contrast. Did you get the end cap kit pieces for the counter that you iron on the ends? You just don't want the ends to get wet, as it is that particle board material and it will swell up if it gets wet. The end especially next to the stove I would do for sure. The other end you might run a bead of clear silicone caulk just to be on the safe side. Little cabin is looking awesome 😊
Just offering a idea if you have solar induction cook tops and build a wood oven outside if you want and no more propain you save money ish the wood for the oven going to have a coust I rarely use a oven myself but that's me

Also elbows hitting the wall, at least put a cabinet to the left of the stove, get it off the wall.
Mine is set up the very same way and I love it and no troubles, ❤❤
What they need to do is put something fireproof on the wall next to the burners and it would be safe😊
I would not use a stove/oven placed next to a wall or other appliance. I preferred the original layout of the cabinets. I do not think it is safe and I feel having cabinet & counter space next to the cooking surface is essential.
I agree om a kitchen designer the other layout was nicer. The gas stove against the wall is a safety hazard.
Love me some Jen! She’s a good woman in my book. Happy, caring, funny, hardworking and always finds the joy in simple things. She is a national treasure and deserves to be protected at all costs!
Jen, my Momma always said laughter is the best medicine, so keep it up girl another good video looks good❤
She got that from Readers Digest.
Stove needs a barrier around it to keep food off of wall, etc
Can you give them a minute finish before ya'll tell them what to do, my goodness ya'll are some bossy people
At the 14 min 50 seconds point I laughed out loud because every single time I'm catcher for my husband's cuts he gives me the same little pep talk you gave Jen.
When you 2 sat on the counter, you looked like 2 " elves on a shelf " 😂 Happy new years guys 🎉
I would highly recomend some kind of side and backsplass around the stove for splatter and ease of cleaning !
Jay and Jen every-time I come to watch your video, you both get me laughing
Completely laughed out loud when you two were goofing off trying to keep pressure on the countertop! That’s fantastic. If don’t do that kind of stuff when you’re doing home renovation projects…you and I probably aren’t friends!
Laughter adds years to your life. Great video.

think i like the stove in the other place there was a place on both sides to put things right off stove on the counter
Highly suggest a side and backsplash around the stove !

I love your laughter. The world needs more of that ❤️

A little concerned about the stove in the corner. How are you going to get a pan with a handle on the left side burner? Isn't it going to hit the wall?
This is primarily going to be for baking not cooking on stove top
Install CO detector - Smoke alarm and Fire Extinguisher too. Safety First
Smart
Happy New Year Jay and Jen 🎉😊!!
Laughter is good for the soul. Keep laughing Jen.😊
The kitchen layout looks nice.
Looking good doesn't always have to be expensive

Thank you!
Jen, I like your hat. It's cute 💖💖
Thanks
You guys are great... love your laugh... i think the haters are not happy with their lives... ignore them... live on... ❤😂🎉
The sink cut out is your matching top with the 1"hole in the front right corner so you can pull it up.
I think it would be so pretty to stain the cabinets in a forest green! It would be so adventurous and blend well with your sofa.
Love your kitchen!
Happy New Year you two!
All of the colors compliment each other! Looks awesome!😊
I like it!! I can't believe what a good deal you got on those cabinets! 🎉 good idea to fit the countertop!! 😊
Looks good! Have a happy new year!🎉
Paint the base cabinet white. Looking good guys. SEMPER FI

i did a kitchen like that back in the 70s . put some shelves above the counter top to hold cooking stuff and what not .. good video good job
Another great video! Check into a ventless heater. You can get them where they mount to the wall or free standing. I use them to heat my pole barn. 😊
Jay love and enjoy your videos. May the lord bless and protect you Jay and Jen and working on the homestead. Happy New Year Jay and Jen working on the cabin. Looks outstanding. Happy New Year Jay and Jen

Perfect choice on the countertop. It looks amazing! Keep up the hard work you two. It's definitely going to be awesome when finished!
Love the little cabin and you guys know how to make work fun 😊😊❤

Happy New Year from Cape Breton Island, Canada

3/4 plywood is put on the top of them to raze the counter top up.

Looking nice. I agree putting some sort of back splash/fire proofing along the wall and back of the stove.
I love how much fun you both are!!! Kitchen looks great! Thanks for sharing!

Cabinet looks great. Keep laughing Jen, we love you. Happy New Year.
I used the big Buddy heater as well and put mine on concrete pavers so it wouldn’t heat up the floor
Amazing cabin😊🇬🇧
Now in the
Netherlands is it 2025 so happy new year🍾🥂
That's a beautiful countertop.
Cute, love the kitchen. IMHO the cabinets need to be a Hunter Green or Forest Green paint or stain. Have a Happy New Year!

I like the Walnut counter top. Good contrast!
It came out beautiful
Happy New Year to you guys. Looks really nice guy's. Look for some tiles to put up across the back of sink and stove walls...
Pretty cool💫🌟🎄
Looks good. Thanks for the video. Happy New Year.
Love the dark color of the counter top! Its a great contrast. Did you get the end cap kit pieces for the counter that you iron on the ends? This is a good point. I couldn't find the right colored cap.....so i should figure out a way to protect it. Thank you
Just offering a idea if you have solar induction cook tops and build a wood oven outside if you want and no more propain you save money ish the wood for the oven going to have a coust I rarely use a oven myself but that's me
What is the Empty space there’s no cabinet. What’s that for?
Jay thinks a trash can 🤣 but we have plans
The tiny cabin kitchen is looking great! Happy New Year!🎊
