What was that new wrap called? It looks a lot like the wrap on my ltd edition pearl kit and I've always wanted to add another tom to it. The wrap on mine is called rainbow micro flake
I know im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost my login password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me
Former managing editor of Drum! (#RIP). Big fan, and I say that as a guy who's been lucky enough to have a drink with Johnny Craviotto. Had I run into you about twenty years back, would have definitely pounded the table to get you involved. Keep up the outstanding work.
So... I've butchered a drum or two in my day and I have to say what you make look so easy is in fact just the opposite. Wow! your attention to detail and the problem solving ability is appreciated by anyone who has every tried this sort of thing. You should be very proud. Thank you for sharing. Sincerely, Gabriel
Oh MAN. I had an old marching snare shell that I wanted to do this exact thing with. I then had kids and realized I’d never have time to work on it, so I got rid of the shell. I super regret doing that now after seeing/hearing this!
You should do a video on re-wrapping drums. A guide on how to do it, tips for the best way, companies you recommend buying wraps... The videos you have in which you rewrap drums, you just kind of mention it in passing.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING WORK BROTHER......I've been wanting a marching drum snare for awhile now but just can't seem to find the right one for me......I LOVE the floor Tom leg idea....that is absolutely BRILLIANT...I'm stealing that and WILL incorporate that into mine when I get it. Thank you for showing that. You did a hell of a nice job on this. You are definitely a master of your craft oh, I'm sure one of many....Hahaha Great episode, beautiful build, I'm sure he was stoked when he saw it.....I'm going right now to find out for myself. Take care, ~Jonny5🥁
I once had a Pearl 'Export' snare drum in the late 80's with the same throw-off system, and I remember it being rather terrible, so it doesn't surprise me this one did get replaced :-)
Everything this dude touches turns to gold LOL. I would have never thought of doing this with a marching band snare. And that new finished is awesome. It's been a long time since I've seen black glitter. My kit is a PDP custom maple 7 piece with 14 + 16 inch floor Tom's. I don't use the 14 I think it's too small for a floor. But you gave me an idea to possibly convert it to a deep snare drum. Would like to try that someday.
Yay, you back in the workshop with projects. With all the spare drums you have could you make a Cocktail Drum kit. They are a fun compact kit to play on.
Man so cool, thanks for the awesome videos and cool add on' s like the in boxing video and the track tap of the mix, keep doing what you do, love your video's.
Love your channel you was a big inspiration for me to start my drum channel. I’ve had a beard all my life so no I wasn’t copying you lol. You always knocking it outta the ball park bro! I use to have an old ten inch deep slingerland marching snare. I had drum maker Joe Partridge put four 3 inch vent holes in it. Hell of a drum!
@rdavidr, you did a fantastic job on refinishing that snare. I have an old late 70’s to early 80’s Ludwig marching snare that I traded some drum gear in for it. The measurements are 15x12” deep. It sounds good as a tom. I’m highly thinking about making it into a floor tom as I like to have two floor toms.

Nice video

Hello @rdavidr,
May I know the background music thats playing while your unboxing the Snare?
How much would you charge to convert a marching snare into a snom?
I know im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account??
I was dumb lost my login password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me
Wow, with the bit of reverb that thing sounds HUGE.
Didn't expect to see you here!
It is huge

Hi Colin! Really didn't expect to see you here. It's cool that we have more than one similar intrest 😁
It’s yuge
6:18 It looks like you're deep frying the tension rods lol
Do you mean to tell me you like yours uncooked?
@@TealTactics adds flavor
Lmaoooo I just got to that part. Now I'm hungry all of a sudden
Don’t EVER change the oil… they’ll sound wayyyy better.
@rdavidr what are you using to clean the tension rods and lugs/hardware?
Even though the original wrap was sick looking. The new one is awesome!
How are u here also
Are u a man of culture
4:20 just found my answer from the cheap snare upgrade video. What a great channel!!!!

What're you up to these days?
You make these projects look so effortless

i love pearl drums but i've never seen this before would kill to own one nice job Dave.
Pearl drums are my Favorite
I was sad to see the old wrap go, but that new wrap is sexy as heck
That black finish is rediculous! Love it
It took me way longer than I want to admit to realize that the sound I was hearing was the snare and not a sample. Wow. What a sound
Yeah, it sounds almost like an old Linndrum, incredible stuff.
ALWAYS ENTERTAINING. Thank You R David R.
for all of the INSPIRATIONAL Vids.
(btw: that bearing edge is phenomenal) nice touches.

i thought he has before ?
@@mist1066 Not really. At least nothing as in-depth
I've been watching him for years, and he's given quite a few really good tips on this
Steven Armstrong I agree, but like I said, nothing all that comprehensive.
Jerrid Foiles i think its pretty straight forward lol
At the end that beat had such a The 1975 type sound to it. Absolutely loved it
Nice job! And wow that thing sounds great with the compression and reverb he put on it. That's one of the best sounding low-tuned snares I've heard.
Happy saturday everyone.
love that. I want to hear it tuned up!
Sounds fantastic. Screams 1980s. I love it.
What a wicked kit at the end, with those mean snares, and the might rototoms! Nice dark cymbal choices too. Nice conversion!
Right On,, Great Job!!! Sounds Awesome!!
That thing sounds crazy wow!

"Dude there's no way we're gonna rewrap this thing"
um then you just... rewrap it? aight
It was because the wrap wasn’t in the best shape
Really digging the music and the editing of this video to it. Really fits and is well done. On top of that, just a cool project. Love it!
man, some people watch those videos about satisfying but this is really satisfying ..
That wrap is 30/10. Phenomenal.
Gah Lee!! The wrap he wants off is the exact wrap that I want to put on my floor tom resto to match my stagg set. Love me some MOP!!
Love how it sounds
You got that tension rod cleaner thing at the end, congrats david!
Awesome, we've been playing a Snom for a few years now, we're super happy with it! Used to be an old Premier marching snare.
It sounds better than a LinnDrum SD tuned down! Nice job
nah
Thanks for the inspiration! I’ve just bought an old marching snare to make one of my own.
“He’s a killer human being”
Phrasing
Got me motivated! I’m going out looking for a marching band snare.
Diggin' the bass boat sparkle!
keep making all these videos!!, i really enjoy your work
I have studied with TJ! He has taught me sooo much! Really cool to see this!!!
that sounds incredible just reaffirms that i need a snom
Sounds enormous! What cool project!

I liked the "happy music" that's in most of the video's in the background way better

I'm not even a drummer but that was so freaking cool! it captures perfectly that 80's feel too
Sounds awesome 😎
Love that finish! And it sounds amazing!
RDavidR is just an amazing person!! Love your work . Sending love from Australia
Bro I’ve been waiting for h to make a snom for ever finally!
Sounds as deep as it looks. 👍
Nice work David. Beautifully done. Saw TJs video too. Nice tune. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the sound. Reminds me of the sound prince would use on some of his tracks. Very whip like.
As a marching snare drummer I cry and cheer. 🙈
That groove is legit
That came out beautiful! Great job!
This was so cool! Great job
Great job man!
Sounds as good as it looks. Great job my man
Nice, I have an old marching snare laying around from my drum tech days that I haven't figured out what to do with. I'm gonna give this a try.

I would use that beauty as my main snare drum 🥁 😍
Great job!
Wondering if u can do a video on how to cut your own bearing edges as shown in this video (different angles, etc) Thx
Nice work bro 🥁

You are simply a geeeeenius!
Awesome job on the barring edges!!! The snare sounds good. Good job man.
@rdavidr Wrap Is Gorgeous 🤘🏼 🚀
great woro david. you should start your own drum company. im serious. happy drumming.
" He is awesome drummer and KILLER human being." Oh no
¡I noticed too! 😅
I said the same thing to myself. I couldn't help but take it it literally
Awesome!
I highly prefer rdavidr's usual background music to the one in this video.
That is a killer fat snare, gee whizz, it's like how i make all my drum machine snare sounds, all phat as hell but with plenty bite. Good work.
Good job👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👌👍
I wonder what would Dave look like without his huge beard.
honestly same
