Shawn, excellent video! I love the passion you have for the classics, and it’s cool watching you talk about your collection! I won’t miss one of your videos!
I re-wrapped my first pro kit many times over the years, until it was sold in 1985/6. I had to, as one toms supplied was in a diff color. Tried many diff materials. Including metal sheet an brass. Finally I wrapped in white plastic. All this was done in the UK, where wraps were not widely available. Thro my experience, I also wrapped kits for other people in a drum shop. I had a complete list of the sizes an lengths needed to complete. I used d/s tape to hold the wrap on the shell, then carefully mounted the brackets, holders an lugs I always did a good job, as it was important to produce a quality product. I loved it!
Been looking forward to this video as I've refurbished many a drum kit and have always had difficulty getting the wrap on, this video will certainly help me with further projects thanks mate !!
Excellent tutorial dude! I have a Ludwig natural centennial that I've been thinking about wrapping in green sparkle and you have been a great inspiration. 🤘
Thanks man! Yes, coated emp's over coated ambassadors! I have an original 70's smooth front head for the bass drum and coated emp on the batter with a felt strip.
Got it Shawn .. Bonham maple kits . Remo coated Emperors top (2 ply 7mil). Remo coated Ambassadors bottom ( 1ply 10mil. And he liked his top heads worn with the brown spot in the middle. Sure, you'll take care of that.
So cool man, you’re doing such a nice job on those shells. Like others here, I can’t wait to see them and hear them when complete. They’re gonna be awesome!
Man! I thought about re-wrapping my Ludwigs. Till I saw what it actually takes. I could screw that up real easy. I'll definitely get a pro! I'd like to know more dude.
That’s a nice big workshop. Mine is 16x16 which is fine for what I do but man you have a ton of room. I’m jealous. Great videos my friend. Keep up the great work.
Good idea! I know people have requested tuning videos but there's so many out there and I don't really have any secret methods. If I have time it's definitely something I want to go over though.

I have some sun damage on my pearl export in arctic white sparkle, it’s starting to look yellow. Thinking of doing a dark walnut wood veneer wrap

That's crazy how that little silver spec stood out so much

So you used sandpaper on the edges and scratched the wrap on the edges 🤷♂️
