Atelier Ryza 3's pushed release to the same day as the Resident Evil 4 Remake is a match made in heaven!
I was purposefully avoiding trailers for Ryza 3 but I was floored by how ambitious it was. The team has come a long way!

I can't understate how overwhelmed I felt the moment I opened the world map. And Bos is such a cool character and I enjoy him as my damage dealer very much. I am also taking my time with Ryza 3. Got to relish every moment as this might finally be it, her final summer. *sobs

Terrific video. Trails is for me what Atelier is for you: it's the #1 thing that everything else waits in line behind. For example, I loved the first Shazam movie years ago, but Shazam 2 came out three days after Trails to Axure released, and, sorry DC comics, but fighting for Crossbell and saving KeA's smile comes first. I'm sure I'll get to the next Atelier game soon enough, but I've just spent the last 16 days doing nothing but playing Azure, and I finally beat the game last night. What an amazing experience! Hope everyone gets to play it soon!

Love these vids, they're as comfy as the games you're playing!
This month I played through Ryza 2 to get caught up and started Ryza 3 (but have only played four hours). I took a slight break from JRPGs for Resi 4 Remake which is why I haven't touched Ryza 3 much yet, but I did go back to play Final Fantasy IX as I've never finished it - and I'm on the last disc of that game now.
I'm also chipping away at Theatrhythm, but I don't want to play through tracks from games I haven't finished so I've got to get through what's left of IX, as well as V, X-2, and the XIII trilogy, though the Steam Deck is making these much easier to find time for while I'm commuting.
This vid has reminded me that I really need to get back to NEO TWEWY as I only played a few hours of that. I've got a little time off from work coming up, so I'm planning to get cosy and really focus on finishing some of those classic FFs first. Unfortunately the Trails series is on the backburner for me atm but I find those games so text-heavy that I have to be in the mood to actually play them.

So, I had to pause my 2nd playthrough of Vesperia DE. I am the final dungeon of the story and was working on the Sword Dancer fights, so it's not too much longer before I complete it. The reason for the pause was Ryza 3. Been waiting for it since Ryza 2. Really enjoying it so far. I got far enough to get one of the new people in my party. I really like the actual open world feel to it. Like seriously, running from one part of the world map to the other without any loading screen is awesome! I am taking my time with this one as it is my relaxation game. And the chill vibes are aplenty. IF I have one negative about the game , it would be the DOF option. The weird blurred effect makes it hard to play at times. I learned the devs received feedback about the DOF feature and are working on an improvement for it. Some good news there. Other than that, it'll be just me playing Ryza 3, then going back to finish Vesperia DE. I would've been interest in Advanced Wars 1 & 2 Boot Camp, but I have the original games and still play them. Thanks for the video!

I've been playing more since finishing this video, I'm so impressed how open world it is too! I will be happy when the DOF is adjustable too, but for now, things keep popping up on the map and it's wonderful! I almost can't believe it's Atelier :3 Thanks for watching ^__^

it's crazy how we're already 1/4 done with the year already. Only managed to clear thru 3 games in march total: Metroid Prime Remastered, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga DX and Resident Evil 4 Remake. April plans seem to be Ryza 3, FE Engage DLC, Advance wars 1+2 reboot camp and Star Wars Jedi Survivor so I'll be all SET

March, I finished Atelier Ryza 2 and started Trails to Azure. This month, I plan to finish Azure, then go straight to Trails to Cold Steel 2 (I played the 1st one last year). If I have any time after Cold Steel 2, I plan to play either Persona 4 Golden or Ys IX: Monstrum Nox.
I also picked up Atelier Ryza 3 last month, but I don't plan to play it for a few months since I just finished 2. But I'm very excited to get to it!

March mainly consisted of me waiting for Resident Evil 4 Remake / Wo Long Fallen Dynasty so with those two finished, i am slowly but surely working through Octopath Traveler II now and after that it will be Ryza 3 then Trails to Azure! A lot of JRPG goodness ahead, i just hope i don't get burnt out playing them back to back lol.
As always stellar video Tara, and looking forward to your Ryza 3 review! I've only heard nothing but praise for it and i kind of want to put down OTP2 for it but if i do i know i'll never finish Octo 2 lol.

Ryza 3s world is overwhelming me so far lol. Im about 6 hours in and I have gotten very little done. I tell myself that I will progress through the story and then, "oh look! I have to check that out...". The first play session was just getting me getting my wits about me. The second and third sessions were me just aimlessly wondering around admiring everything about the game.

March was a big deal for me because I managed to finish Final Fantasy VI! I drew it out longer than I probably should have since I kept doing extra quests. I didn't want it to end, but I'm glad I finally finished it after all these years.
After finishing FFVI, I decided to pick up my old save file for Tales of Vesperia on Switch. Thanks to the synopsis feature in the menu, I managed to pick up where I left off pretty cleanly. I haven't finished the game yet, turns out it's a good bit longer than I thought xD

I am also really enjoyed Atelier Ryza 3. I cannot believe that there is someone who has already done a speed run of this! I have a couple of issues with this one though no matter how much I love the series. The first is the blurry DOF which is giving me a headache every time I play. The second it the microscopic text of the subtitles... took me a while to even see there was subtitles! Of course the other main game I have been playing is Trails to Azure. I have been doing a second playthrough of Persona 4 but I should be done with that later today once I beat Margaret.

I don't remember if it's during February or March, but I got back to Pokemon with Y on the 3DS, I'm still at rhe beginning of it but I've been prepping for my gen 6 only run thanks to the Wikis that were a great help with that.
March was also the end of the 3DS and rhe Wii U eShops, so I managed to bust out the dough in getting as many JRPGs I coild get my hands on before it was too late.
Finally, there were 2 mobile games I wanted to continue progressing, those being Dragon Quest Dai A Hero's Bonds and Echoes of Mana. Sadly, both games are coming to an end in Aprik and May respectively, which sucks especially for Echoes since it hasn't been a full year before shutting down.
Nevertheless, I still have plenty of JRPGs and other genres to replace them, which is a good thing since it's snowing again in Montréal for the coming week-end.
Thanks for your awesome videos as always, Tara, and enjoy Atelier Thighs-a, I mean Ryza 3.
Sorry, I couldn't resist making that bad pun there lol.

Nice! I wish I took a moment to raid the 3DS shop myself, but I knew I'd be mostly just filling my backlog. I'll probably regret that decision at some point, so I hope you picked up some good stuff haha
And yes, I noticed a few games shutting down quickly (Echoes especially felt quick, I haven't tried it). A little bit of a shame, especially for those who enjoyed them. I still wish they immortalized all of these experiences on Switch or something!
Thank you, haha! Enjoy the snow and cozy gaming time ^__^

      @@JRPGJungle Thanks, Tara!
Well, the snow was just for 1 day as it melted away real quick lol.
I was able to get the following 3DS JRPGs just in time before the closure:
      - Yo-Kai Watch 2 Physic Specters
      - Yo-Kai Watch 3
      - Monster Hunter Stories
      - Fire Emblem Echoes
      - Paper Mario Sticker Star
      - Mario&Luigi Paper Jam
There's also the Origin Island DLC for Fantasy Life and both the Conquest and Revelation routes for Fire Emblem Fates I managed to snag away (I already own Birthright physically as the ''base'' game ).
My only gripe about the above: they were NOT on sale during those final weeks, which is a shame as I would've save a LOT of money, but it's better than how they're prices physically now.

    • @RealJokerx7
      @RealJokerx7 Год назад +2

I will say start with either Ryza 1 or Sophie 1. The games have subseries that are related with each other, but you can start from the start of any subseries. After Sophie comes Firis, Lydie & Suelle, Sophie 2; or you can also play them Sophie, Sophie 2, Firis, Lydie & Suelle.
The subseries are: The Salburg series (Marie, Elie, Lilie), the true start, but it's Japanese only. (Although we get a remake of Marie later this year in English) Gramnad (Judie, Viorate), also Japanese only. Iris (Iris 1, 2, 3) which plays more like a normal RPG. Mana Khemia (1 and 2. I haven't played them, I think they play different from the other atelier series). NDS, actually spin offs, but I kinda like them (Lise, Annie, Lina. With only Annie with an English release. Annie isn't that well liked, but I liked it). Arland (Rorona, Totori, Meruru, Lulua). Dusk (Ayesha, Escha & Logi, Shallie). Mysterious (Sophie, Firis, Lydie & Suelle, Sophie 2). Secret (Ryza 1, 2 and 3).
There is also Nelke, which is a spin off, but it doesn't play like an Atelier game, but more like a town management game. It includes characters from previous Atelier games, since it was released for the 20th year anniversary of the series.

I feel like I shouldn't be cuz it's not like they are that great but it's just the town is so amazing to look at. I walk slow pan the camera and just look at the city at times. I think its cuz Ryza 1 felt so small and 2 just feels bigger. I know 3 has places from 1 but does it have new places that feel bigger and grander in scope? Currently I have 88% and I still have two more achievements to get, one of which I'm extremely close to getting. @dynastystar5515 Год назад +1

@@JRPGJungle Its extremely challenging. If you do decide to go for them, I'd suggest keeping an eye on the cooking achievements to make sure you're getting the recipes, keeping track of which ones you've cooked and eaten and getting the ingredients for those you haven't, and make sure you focus on raising your pets early enough on, and also make sure you get on mining in the Lake Mine early as its AMAZING money.
Still nowhere near as rough as some games I've 100%ed. Excluding the bugged cooking achievements, it was leagues harder to 100% Disgaea(I do wish there was an achievement for beating Baal on Etna Mode). The hardest achievement for me to get in Disgaea was dealing 10,000,000 in one hit, and the only reason I was able to do it is because I found a level in the item world that had like +150% or +200% damage bonus from geo panels.
