when I think of jar jar revealing himself as sith I imagine him starting out saying "me'sa had you" in his happy voice then continues in a smooth intellgent deep voice "fooled the whole time"
And then he draws two lightsabers , his face stern yet his eyes filled with sickening humour. He raises his hand and clenches his fist. Yoda is throw back with such force he had never encountered. Obi Wan saw the jedi master slam into the wall and was filled with anger. He swings a strike to the left with his lightsaber, but it is stabbed with an iron wall of force. "Weak. Pitiful." He says as he slashed Obi- Wans hand off. He cried out in pain and sank to his knees, eyes glazed over as he beheld the charred stump of where his hand once was. Jar Jar laughed as he advanced on the prone figure of Yoda, lightsabers moving in menacing circles towards the ancient jedi...
Just imagined Jar Jar suddenly standing up completely straight, starts talking in his sith voice without any weird grammar, while some sort of menacing music stats playing. This could have easily rivaled the Yoda scene in Ep V, where he instantly switched from goofy to wise in the blink of an eye...
@@thebestfreakingamer4316 Apparently the whole threat behind Armidale life in Episode 2 was going to be Darth Jar Jar and Jango Fett was working for him. Lkie fooling hem all starting the war, manipulating people’s words or minds searching for the chosen one that he and Palpatine created, and bringing him back to Coruscant.

TheTTVCrew not saying it's not most most of Star Wars after the originals were poorly planned therefore the execution was bodged. But it would make sense if jar jar was meant to be the big bad and I'm pretty convinced he was thought about to be by Lucas. It would make sense that gunguns were naturally soaked in the dark side of the force a ying to the yang of yodas species we know gunguns were described to be a warrior race and it's my guarantee that yodas were in Lucas head to be pacifist type species
@@HeWhoDaresEhDel I never said that was wrong bro. I just said that the reason he can double jumpe in the Complete Saga isn't because he can use the dark side
You left off: that anytime someone insults him, they tend to die or find themselves in peril, he is present during every major event and assassination, people constantly mistake him as a force user, he controls creatures, he is introduced in a scene very reminiscent of where the bio-weapon lab was on Naboo, he is almost never questioned about his activities, he was "banished" and now he's back, and when the Chancellor is doing his astronaut walk, Jar Jar is right next to him.
The best part about him being "banished" is how the Gungans don't act like they're bothered that a clumsy idiot came back, but rather get absolutely terrified. And this isn't because of Qui-Gon or Obi-Wan (As the Gungans simply considered themselves superior to the Naboo, they didn't exactly fear them). So, what were they scared of?
I personally think that if they kept Jar Jar Binks being a Sith Lord would of redeemed his character! It would of repainted him as a bumbling idiot to be a cold calculating lord of evil. Fixing the issues people had with him.
+Matthew Smith How Jar Jar Binks was in the actual movie: generic dumb unfunny comic relief that's arguably a racist black guy stereotype. How he was originally: actually badass character, and for the that matter, an actual character
Joe Olson Exactly! Lucas should of fallowed through with his original vision! If he did the Prequels would of been way better! ... Well at least a little bit better.
hedgehogsonic11 His actor, a black male, was shown several times in the video. I would assume that is where the "Racist depictions of a black guy" stemmed from.
Aoi not to mention this would have been the first set of trilogies to go straight to VHS and other home media outlets. Meaning by the time the third one came out many people would have owned the first one. Imagine the excitement of fans to receive that twist and anxiously running home to watch the 1st and 2nd movies like “OMG THE SIGNS WERE THERE THE WHOLE TIME!!!” There would have been analysis of every hint, the films honestly would have been praised as the movies that fooled the world. But we got this... and idk, it’s just sad tbh
The Jar-Jar hate was all the MORE reason to keep the Dark Jar-Jar storyline. Most of the complaints were that he was annoying and a irrelevant distraction, this reveal would have demonstrated that the annoying idiocy and seemingly ridiculous luck were both tricks and that he was anything BUT irrelevant as the Big Reveal brought the anti-Jar Jar rage to a screeching halt. If they'd kept this storyline there probably would have been a lot less hate for the trilogy overall.
I don't know who I should blame. The fans for hating him so much or Lucas for chickening out because of the backlash. I'm going with Lucas because if he had gone through with the Jar Jar plot twist it would have made for one of the best reveals since "I am your father".
Lucas is to blame. Mostly that he tryed to write this all himself look at the bad edits in the originals with people to stop him mess like the prequels happen.
Is it possible that George Lucas was forced to change the Jar Jar plot by executives who demanded less Jar Jar after seeing the backlash? Lucas's hand may have been forced from above rather than him willingly backing down on it. If executives see Jar Jar's name to be mud they're not going to let him be plastered all over the next two movies in fear of them bombing.
A twist needs foreshadowing, Palpatines survival was just extremely bad writing, a lack of ideas and uncertainty how to even wrap up things after the last jedi. If you watch ep 7 and 8 nothing even remotely hinds to the idea that Palpatine is still alive, not to mention that they revealed it months earlier in a fortnite event of all things.
@Stvy14 Ehhh, that's kind of a cop-out. I understand the writing just fine, (again it's not exactly deep or complex.) Not to mention the entire thing is pretty much a ripoff of Logans Run. I'm not sure what there is to misunderstand about space knights fighting really uninteresting wars that constantly recycle the same 4 villains over the span of like 9 movies?
He was 100% animated, this means all his subtle movements hand motions were all done on purpose. I'm so sad they didnt go through with this. Him being dumb was all planned. Him and Palpatine are even from the same planet!
The first fully-computer generated character in a live-action film,[1]. I don't think they spent the cash required for that on a useless character. Also he's in a lot of important scenes, and the more you watch his scenes the more obvious it becomes. He uses different levels of stupid to trick certain people.
@Edmond Schwab No Jar Jar is Plagueis. Think about it, in Star Wars NO Sith has ever turned on their master alone, it's always the Master, The Apprentice and the New Apprentice, but Palpatine doesn't seem to have a concrete apprentice, even Maul was fairly new in Episode I. That is because Palpatine was not ready to betray Plagueis. But as we would have seen at the end of Episode III, he would have, or perhaps Yoda and Plagueis dueled and Yoda defeated the Master but not the Apprentice. However, Lucas got bullied by people calling themselves "fans" out of using Jar Jar and changed his story to exclude Jar Jar, so he changed Plagueis' species and had Palpy kill him in his sleep.
Blaze Escamilla Go read the books then... If that was his original intent for jar jar it would be in the episode 1-2-3 books. That we had almost 2 decades before a movie. I love this theory- However here's where I bury all continuity of sense within it. Ben Skywalker was originally the name of Luke's son. (Via books) Han Solo's child never killed him But did turn to the Darkside. Now Chewy did die saving the children of Han. The new trilogy is heavily changed from it's source material. Boba Fett lives- in the books timed after Return of the Jedi. If Jar Jar is important---- He will be portrayed in text the same way.
@@lennonrush7705 All villains are meant to be annoying, yet perfected, by changing through their personalities. You never hear the heroes say, 'oh, hey, would you like some tea?' No, they say, 'you again, I'll just defeat you, again.' They're meant to be entertaining in their annoyance, by being the annoyance to the heroes. I mean, sometimes people are annoyed by the heroes, yeah? It's an effect, of character. We love The Joker, for his amazing annoyance towards Batman, cuz he's always changing his jokes of crime, to pester 'Bats', why we enjoy it. I typed too much, but, I feel it's worth the debate.
29:29 that definition of "Phantom" seems to suit Jar Jar in a more literal sense, in that he's a CGI character, with no "physical reality or material substance"........
Jar jar is responsible for the original trilogy too. He was also the one who made Anakin start to have feelings for Padme. Not to mention the whole reason they landed on Tattoine. He and Palpatine both from the same planet.
If that was part of the plan,it means he purposely breaks the rule of two...But i could see it,cuz he is the master.Sidious constanly sets up competition for his aprentice and only punishes violation of that rule as soon as they start teaching their own students.A spark of reality after all, rules usually rn't binding for rulers.
If they reveal something about Jar Jar in Star Wars IX, the theory is completely truth for me. I'm 99% believing in that but if we see something about him I'll be 100%, no doubt
the prequels would have been so amazing if Jar Jar was the bad guy. Imagine Obi-Wan's reaction to finding out that his longtime friend was a sith that he completely missed. now, imagine the teaser for The Force Awakens. Vader's burned helmet appears on screen. A wizened amphibious hand rests atop it. A goofy, but aged voice croaks from the darkness as yellow eyes appear. "Meesa gonna avenge you, Ani...."
I feel like if this is true.. than george maybe should have doubled down. Sure you would have hated jar jar... until he made his reveal and then you would have retroactively watched all the scenes and learned to love him.
@@graciasvito8067 Please, even with the reveal, Itachi is a complete and utter idiot. Like he honestly couldn't have found some other way to protect Konoha without committing mass murder of civilians and ninja alike, all of whom were family?
Doubling down is a culture Hollywood only picked up on in the 2010s. If Phantom Menace had come out in 2009 instead of 1999, George Lucas would have probably used the fan backlash to make a Jar Jar series just to piss fans off.
@@DavidbarZeus1 better examnple for gracias in my experience is sasuke. In one instant sasuke went from the most hated character for me for one of the most liked. Because it made sense and his idiocy was eventually realized by sasuke as wrong.
The general theory is that he would have been palpatines master and would have been the villain of the sequel trilogy. George had planned the original, prequel and sequel trilogy before he even finished the original trilogy.
@warrcc c well then why give power to paplatine and why doesn't his people jump high like him or can do what he can do in fighting doesn't that show evil intent
My problem is, if they _were_ going to do this, the whole point would be that we'd find him annoying and stupid, then be blown away that was on _purpose,_ so...I mean you cant change a character because fans complain they're annoying if being annoying is the point. I mean, of course we were going to hate him if that was the _point._ Just ride the hate out and wait till we all feel like idiots for not figuring out what was going on
@@bloodyneptune Fans have to remember that because Jar Jar got so much hate, his actor almost killed himself. I mean, yeah, you don't like the character, that's fine, but Ahmed Best still got the worst of the backlash.
i wish every educator, teacher, and professor put this kind of effort and passion into their work. you really got down to the content while also making it fun for us viewers. !! thnx
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the theory that Jar Jar deliberately made them all go to Tatooinie to retrieve Anakin and bring him to Coruscant. After all, it’s been established that Palpatine was the one who manipulated the Force to create Anakin, so if Jar Jar was working for/with Palpatine, getting Anakin to Coruscant was necessary to their plan. This is why fans need to stop b*tching about things so much. We could have gotten something awesome out of Jar Jar and a twist that surpassed Vader being Luke’s father. But because they complained so much, Lucas had to change things, and we got what we got. Imagine how amazing it would have been if Jar Jar suddenly dropped his dopey act and revealed he was a sinister master manipulator and Sith Lord.
Yeah, it's quite sad that fans screams about things. But I would have loved if Lucas had stuck with his original idea like: "Oh boy do I got a twist for you fans!"
Actually, Anakin's father was Darth Plagueis. He manipulated the midi-chlorians inside Shmi Skywalker's womb and created life, as Palpatine implies. So Palpatine and Plagueis were responsible for Anakin's existence. There is no other way Anakin could have fallen to the Dark Side so easily. Luke also had attachments, but he didn't fall, like his father did.
In the comics it's revealed that jar jar's buffoonish behavior is literally just a act just to gain political power without doing any work and is fast to gain it
@@mrnukes797 Which is why the theory of him being Darth Plagueis makes sense, but we never got that awesome twist because fans complained about him so much, so instead he remained an annoying comic relief.
What crazy, is that this isn't even all of the evidence for the Jar Jar's original plan theory. I just put in what I find to be the most convincing and obvious, but you can go waay deeper into cast interviews and even some Star Wars books to see it.
+Gnoggin Excuse me sir, but from where in the deep recesses of your ass did you pull *2* other planets that have life on them from? The drake equation may be complicated to get into, but it does NOT simplify to *two*.
+ENDERSLAYER2002 That's true, but many Sith apprentices had a secret apprentices of their own, and also Sith use other non-sith Force users as special soldiers, eg: the Dark Guards So while the Only Two Sith makes Jar Jar being a Sith kind of non likely, he could be a force user serving the Sith
And that's why it's such a tragedy that this was not used. Imagine how it would redeem his character and make the prequels improve, it would remove the single biggest issues fans have with that trilogy.
Sidious is a diminutive of insidious which means proceeding in a gradual, subtle way, but with very harmful effects... and Darth Sidious did just that Vader is a diminutive of vater which means father, and Darth Vader turned out to be Luke's Plagueis is a diminutive of Pelagianism which is a philosophy in which people can earn salvation through their own efforts (although assisted by God's Grace) and Darth Plagueis discovered a way to save people from death through his own Force assisted efforts Tyranus, is a diminutive of tyrannosaurus which means "tyrannical lizard" which describes Darth Tyranus... not at all, it would have fit a lizard-like Gungan though. Could be just Tyrannical which still fails to describe Count Dooku. It is entirely possible that Darth Tyranus should have been Jar Jar, which would have been an amazing reveal.
"Jar Jar" is "Raj Raj" in backwards and check what "Raj" means.. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raj Saying Raj Raj two times literally means ruler of rulers, king of kings, emperor of emperors. That Jar Jar for you being ruler of Sidious.
It's this sort of reactionary response that may have been why the prequels were such a failure in comparison to the original trilogy. Even if Episode 1 received the same level of disappointment, if they stuck with developing Jar Jar as this hidden Sith-aligned mastermind as opposed to trying to retcon his involvement by adding in Dooku instead, it could have redeemed the entire trilogy and possibly make people retroactively appreciate the minute details established in Episode 1. Maybe 2 and 3 end up being more cohesive, and thus Episode 1, even if left unchanged, would still be plagued by the bad acting and odd pacing but will have been the building blocks for the rest of a potentially more enjoyable series.
I don't think Dooku was a mistake. They could have had both. Dooku to start the Wars, Jar Jar as the inside guy giving Palpatine power. Besides, Dooku is cool.
Hollywood hates Lucas, I wouldn't be surprised if review sites and the like weren't paid off to influence online popular culture at the time. Wouldn't be the first time the media has targetted some one and tried to destroy their work or lives.
How about the scene where a giant fish is about to swallow their ship. Jar Jar "falls asleep" and then suddenly a much larger fish eats the attacker. Then Jar Jar wakes up and they're saved! Jar Jar possessed the larger fish to prevent their destruction.
Bully Hunter Over 9000 I misremembered. I meant the second monster attack once the power is restored. Jar Jar sort of "faints" and another monster with "red eyes" eats their attacker ruclips.net/video/IIQVAShJzLo/видео.html
theres 2 problems with that, one its inconsistent, normally the person attacking or the threat itself is possessed, not another innocent character possessed to hurt the threat thats jus not how they did it and the other problem and probably nail in the coffin, is they never went anywhere with the jar jar theory.. so in the end its jus a theory
Travis Miller Lucas cut back on Jar Jar's part in the trilogy due to the overwhelming hatred the audience showed toward the character. His later reaction to this disapproval doesn't impact upon the attractiveness of this Jar Jar secret sith theory and the compelling evidence that supports it.
I personally think this theory is just far too solid to be dismissed. As you said, it ALL wraps together by the end. I think they should have kept him as the main villain, especially because he was hiding in plain sight from the very BEGINNING before Sidious was even introduced.
Didn't think I'd watch the whole vid, but I got hooked. I'm actually pretty mad that Lucas didn't go through with it. That twist would have been the biggest in awhile, and it would have been validation for all the hatred Jar Jar received earlier. It would have been a giant risk, though. Who knows how it really would have turned out.
George Lucas messed it up. Made Jar Jar TOO annoying and irritating, and then he thought he needed to get rid of him since people hated him so much. He should have done it like Yoda's appearance in The Empire Strikes Back: only show him as annoying for long enough to disarm the suspicions of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, and the audience. Then quietly move him into the background, like when Qui-Gon was talking to Boss Nass. In the transport they use to reach the capital, he should have been in the back: he's now where he needs to be, outside suspicion. But they slipped and made Jar Jar a "shock and awe" of annoyance, so everyone hated him.
@@grantkruger3689 100% Agreed, George Lucas pushed the thing a little bit too far with jar jar, even if personally I didn't really mind him when I watched the film for the first time when I was younger, I can understand why people hated him. But I guess that was a risky choice made on purpose, it didn't worked unfortunately.
@@apotaz3353 When Yoda first appeared, for two minutes he was much like Jar Jar: goofy, silly and annoying. But he was quickly revealed to be the Jedi master Luke was searching for. They planned a later reveal for Jar Jar, so they should have moved him into the background. That reveal would have been epic.
@@grantkruger3689 Yes that's right, no one would have expected it and yet that would have made sense given the parallel with yoda. It's a shame, it could have been one of the most epic plot twist.
@@apotaz3353 It is a shame. I'm sad it flopped. Just imagine: Yoda goes to confront Palpatine Palpatine, finds him standing menacingly over Senator Binks, and challenges him. But then both Yoda and Palpatine are stunned to discover that Binks is far from helpless, and far from who they thought him to be...
My favorite part is "the queen wishes it, she's curious about the planet". Why would the queen be curious about a planet covered in sand and why did Jar Jar come along to begin with??? Hmmmmm....
Also the way he says it. The pause in his words. Like he's in a sort of trance, being fed this information as he's speaking it, rather than communicating an idea he was told prior.
Unfortunately the fact it took 15 odd years for this to come out means either Lucas and co had no intention of Darth Jar Jar or they hid the evidence too well. I think it would have been better if they cut out Jar Jar's goofiness in 3 or 4 scenes and had a questionable or mysterious ending with Jar Jar and Palpatine in episode 1. Imagine seeing Jar Jar's "Sith" eyes but him not stepping in animal poo and knowing Jar Jar can do a standing 20ft jump but not electricuted by the pod racer. Some simple tweaks and i think the character becomes much less hated and gets the audience questioning some of things he said and did.
At this point, it's pretty much canon that this is the way George Lucas originally wanted it to be. We're all kicking ourselves for the hate we gave Jar Jar back in the day. This reveal would have been just as big as "No, I am your father."
Hard to believe. Remember, this trilogy had a fixed end point. It had to end where the original trilogy started. Where’s Jar Jar in those? It would have had to be a huge plot point with a big reveal that went nowhere. Just a dead end. It’s much easier to believe that Jar Jar was put in the movie to appeal to/sell action figures to little kids.
Imagine if the original Star wars was released today?? People would be bitching about how much plot holes it has and how annoying yoda is and to have him removed lmao.
Hot damn dude! Now that was a well done video! I was like "48 minutes?? There's no way I'm going to watch this whole thing." And yet here I am, very impressed. You've done well Padawan.
Sounds like they chickened out due to nerd rage. He might have been pressured by 20th Century FOX to change it too, since the hate for JJB was so bad, and they wouldn't want the trilogy to be a flop. (It's all about the bottom line for those guys). Just a casual SW viewer here, but it would've made the theme of the prequel had they stuck to the original plan of JJB being Yoda's 'yang'.
Yup , i think it to , i might , and this is just a theory , that the moment he created the whole trilogy was even before realising the first movie , and that in his sketches , he put as the ultimate sith lord as snoke(carnivorous fish being jar jar ) that was being suposed to ve instead of plagueis , and the mame plagueis was just a name that he created after Fox told him ti recreate the trilogy
When in the Gungan city, after talking to Boss Nass and the jedi are walking away, Jar Jar says to Qui Gon just as he passes in front of him "Any help here would be hot". BUT at the moment he says it, he waves his shackled hands in front of Qui Gon. And what does Qui Gon do? He turns right around and asks Boss Nass to let him go! THAT is my favorite use of the mind trick through out the trilogy.
@@dearjohn7328 you are right but if Jar jar was more strong minded he could of mind tricked the weak minded qui gon but overall you cant mind trick other force users
@@dearjohn7328 As long as the power disparity is great enough, it can be. If Jar Jar was intended to be the ultimate dark side user, it's possible that he was powerful enough to use it on Qui-Gon. After all, Qui-Gon AND Obi Won together couldn't even figure out that Padme was the real queen, so they couldn't of been overly powerful.
Darth maul was not his apprentice he was a dark side assasin at that time darth sidious was still apprentice to Darth plagueis ,keep in mind the rule of two
But wasn't Plageuis killed before the end of Episode 1, off screen? And since it's always 2, maybe Jar Jar and Maul were both contenders to become the new apprentice once Sidious took out his master, and Jar Jar won because he succeeded as a dark side spy, whereas Maul failed as the dark side assassin
I mean the main problem though is that Phantom Menace is still really really bad. It would've been better if it turned out that Jar Jar was a sith lord and such, but it wouldn't have made any of the other scenes any better. So even without Fan Reactions about Jar Jar specifically, they were bound to still try and course correct and make more changes and such.
Same here. To me this is as big of a disappointment as the cancellation of Silent Hills. Truly, the fans have ruined Star Wars. It no longer has that magic it once had.
They still could have made him less annoying. There’s a difference between a tolerably annoying character for movie sake and “annoys the audience to death”.
Dark side is chaos. An "unpleasant break or conflict in rhythm, flow, or transition" - is chaos. Jar Jar is not clumsy - he's chaotic. He's not not lucky - he's spreading chaos around. He's sewed of chaos, he's pure chaos himself, he irradiates it all around and all his actions and behavior emphasize that. He's the master of chaos.
That's why he says stay away. Dark side is just a pov and he is literally saying just stay away , from the [insert quote here(dark side of the force) ]as a quote "stay away" and from being me ie dark side so what is water is the darker form of the force and light is the 'good' side of force meaning bigger fish and whatever yoda is fighting for supremancy
So Jar Jar messed with the hyperdrive in The Phantom Menace so they would find Anakin, wich actually made the grand scale killing of Jedi masters & more important jung padawans possible?? I’m totally on board with Binks being Darth Plagueis
I never had a real problem with Jar Jar. If this was all intended to be true, than this was a massive waste of potential. Lucas should have gone with his initial plan and watch everyone hating on Jar Jar just shut up.
Lorenzo Quan yea im pretty sure ppl like good twists just look at every movie that had a good twist ppl love them and guarentee you they all would have shut up and gave a standing ovation iknow i would have
I've bought the theory for a while now, the evidence is there. It's too bad Lucas didn't have the balls to go through with it. It would have shut us all up.
What kills me about this is if they _were_ planning on this, but changed it because everyone hated Jar Jar...come on, cutting his role down wasn't going to make him not exist in Phantom Menace or make people hate him less. But if it had turned out that everything we felt about the character was _on purpose,_ and George _hadn't_ lost his mind and thought 'Star Wars fans will def love this character', like...he _knew_ we'd hate him and think he was stupid and that was the _point,_ that was the same in-universe reason _they_ didn't suspect him? _Nobody_ would have hated Jar Jar anymore. People would go back and watch them again to pick out foreshadowing and clues. Now its just "god...if i watch Phantom Menace I have to watch so much _Jar Jar"._ I mean, maybe we're all crazy and they weren't at all going to do Darth Jar Jar, but if they were and cut it? Now Jar Jar just sucks and the fallout is probably how Kathleen Kennedy ended up being able to chuck Star Wars in a dumpster, set it on fire, and then film said dumpster fire and call it a movie trilogy.
Yet that's exactly what happened. Jar Jar's role was cut because of the hate from fans, but Lucas clearly had a much more important role for him, a role that would eventually see Count Dooku introduced for the same purpose, while Jar Jar's involvement in Palpatine's plot would appear random.
I personally think that George should've 'ignored' the backlash and just went along with his initial plan. I saw in other comment that Jar Jar could've actually been Sideus' master, Darth Plagius, the entire time. Another theory I saw said that Darth Plagius was actually alive during Phantom Menace, for a time, orchestrating things from the shadows.
Technically the clones would still exist because they were around/ ordered to be made before so yeah I love clones anyways so that means clones would be around forever
I've been planning to for a few years, and it's getting closer on my to-do list. Sub me to see it, possibly in a month or two. I already have the title picked out, but I'm not going to say it here. I already have something of a rewrite of the original trilogy on my channel, if you want to check that out, but that's more of a mash-up and alteration of the entire saga in an hour. When I start doing episode rewrites, it will be more like recreations of each individual movie. I'll use a combination of scene backdrops and animated pips, with very little actual movie footage, to avoid claimage, or worse, blockage. Anakin will be episode 2 Hayden in episode 1, and he'll intentionally fly off to purposefully destroy the control ship, instead of accidentally. It will be against Qui Gon's orders for him not to. He wasn't a slave, he pod raced to support his mom Shmi and his sister Beru. I'll later tie Beru being his sister to him trying to find out which imperial officer ordered the massacre of the Lars's, and not getting a clear answer, he looks for any excuse to force choke his top suspects to death.
How about a true and faithful recreation of episodes 7,8 & 9. (thought that's what I was going to get this time around) Now that's what I would like to see. Truly.
Well same here ! I would love to read the original scripts but sadly they are probably not available for us to read . If that was possible , then a recreation of those , would have been an amazing idea !
Near the end, you say Jar Jar uses tech to extend his life. But if Jar Jar was so powerful, there is a good chance that he knew something about Darth Plagus the Wise, and his ability to manipulate life. Is it possible that Jar Jar was using this method of staying alive?
Shane Loranger Plagueis was first mentioned in Revenge of the Sith. It’s possible that Plagueis would’ve still been a Star Wars character. In the Plagueis book Sidious and Plagueis conspired to make Palpatine chancellor and rule together. That part could’ve easily been Binks. People strong in the force I would also think could live far longer than non force users. Sith alchemy could extend a life force beyond anything natural. Darth Krayt lived an unnaturally long life.
teslagod2003 The rule of 2 pretty much ended with Plagueis & Sidious. Palpatine had no intentions of helping Anakin save his wife. He knew she would die because he would pursue the dark side to save her(vicious circle right?). Sidious’ plan was to use Sith alchemy to live forever. Prior to this Disney takeover Palpatine came back from the dead, had many clone bodies of himself to keep coming back and even had Luke as his apprentice for a little bit. The only person he was interested in helping was himself lol!
teslagod2003 then why did you reply to me if I’m on a wrong comment??? And no. The point was that the rule of 2 ended with them. They pursued eternal life. Why do you keep calling him plageius the wise? He also wasn’t killed in his sleep. He was killed while celebrating with Palpatine.
girlfriend: "how was your day?" me: "watched a 48 minute expose on how Jar Jar Binks was secretly a Sith Lord, wbu?" girlfriend: "we're breaking up" me: "I have no regrets"
It makes more sense when you think that Palatine was able to hide his connection to the force. Jaja may have the same ability or even use it with out detection even among jedi.
Unless you're actually a fool, then your enemy has already won. That's a really cute saying. However, the problem with your little saying is, most people think they are much more intelligent than they actually are making them in fact a fool. An intelligent person underestimates their own intelligence knowing they do not know everything. Making them a much bigger threat than the fool who thinks they know everything. When asked "how it felt to be the smartest man on the planet?" Einstein replied "I don't know, you'll have to ask Tesla" Proving that as smart as he was he realized Tesla was even smarter. A fool would have answered much differently.
When I told Dad about the theory and evidence, his answer was that they shouldve kept him as the sith Lord. Would've made the Jar Jar hate massively justified.
Rumor has it that he did, filming the phantom menace as he chose as well as the edited released version. If it's true, you could theoretically watch it as it was meant to be but then again, already knowing a huge reveal in advance kinda spoils it. I still want to see them though, if they exist.
Disagree. That would give the stupid creep some purpose. Actually a big one. Actually, it would turn the plot inside out and upside down at th same time (just as learning that the Raiders of the lost Ark plot would very well do without Indy). :D
@@liszcgsedt It would have been seen as a troll by lucas, all the hate towards jar from the first film, they would have thought he changed the script to make it happen in spite of the fans and that would have been far more disastrous for the franchise than making the changes he did.
unspokenrespect well if the Pixar theory was debunked by Pixar, I'm sure something like this is false too. Also I don't believ George Lucas is that smart.
The theory resurfaced not too long before episode 7 (the first Disney movie) and for a while I really was ready to see Snoke pull back his hood to reveal Jar-Jar... It is truly a sad moment when you can honestly say that a movie would be improved by having jar-jar as the main villain.
Here's something else: Captain Panaka never wanted to even go to Tatooine in the first place due to the threat to Amidala, yet a few hours later, he's letting Padme go into the local town. If a Mind Trick wasn't involved, then it means Panaka is the most inconsistent and incompetent captain of security in the history of the Star Wars galaxy!
Cole Peltier George unfortunately doesn’t handle mass hate well, though not many can, it’s why he sold Star Wars was because of those rose tinted Nostalgia OT fans bitching at him constantly
I think the reaction to Binks was overblown by the media. Also Lucas overreacted. I really do agree with you, he should have had more faith in his own vision.
I can understand the decision of the director. He has to explain his decisions to the studio he works for. It is still a shame, because some "harder" foreshadowing at JarJar in the second episode would have made the whole reveal very effective. Even up to the point of giving the whole movie a creepy feeling. It might have saved the whole first trilogy in a cinematical sense.
@@maxinator2869 It was his OWN studio, Lucas made billions of the SW franchise, he could do anything what he wanted and still get away with it. Go watch the Star Wars Holiday Special, this is basically written & directed by a turd on acid, that's where Lucas apparently draws the line on what is not OK as he pulled it shortly after it aired and if he could he'd single handedly destroy every copy in existence. If he had pulled the original plot off, the prequel-trilogy might have been even better the the original trilogy in terms of plot twists and layering, with many fun backstory movies on how Jar Jar even got to become a Sith master and meet Qui Gon & Obi-Wan. I'll have Binks back any day if I see what dung pile the whole SW franchise has become. After the last movie, I literally lost interest in something I've been a zealous fan of my entire life. I understand a new generation of heroes needs to be made, but they disrespected everything the heroes from the first trilogy stood for. Jar Jar's character certainly wasn't perfect, but it turned out his biggest flaw was he was just too perfectly disguised for the average audience(And I have to admit, I absolutely didn't expect a plot twist THIS big).
Ross Kambel thanks for the explanation. I get your dissapointment. And I agree on most points. It is sad how SW ruined its own reputation. For me the final nail in the coffin has been the last Starwars Battlefront disaster.
Personal theory: in the EU there are incarnations of the Force, Force gods for lack of a better term. The Whills, the Father, the Son, the Daughter are examples. What if Jar Jar was one of these 'Force Beings' and instead of representing the Light side, the Dark side, or balance in the Force; he represents Chaos? He did help Palpatine take power and exterminate the Jedi but he also helped bring Palpatine and Anakin together sealing Palpatine's fate.
Nah I think Palpatine was hoping if he got Anakin on the dark side that he would kill him and take his place cementing himself as the dark overlord just as he did his former master. In the comics theres a story about this girl that got close to Vader and knew his plans. He started getting investigated so he decided to try and kill anyone that knew of his plans. She escaped him and was brought back by a bounty hunter I believe but she told the emperor of Vaders plan to overthrow him and that is the reason Vader wants her dead. He just laughed and was proud that Vader went through great lengths to try and cover up his plan to overthrow him. Basically Palpatine wanted Vader to kill him but Vader never really could find the perfect time which is where Luke comes in. He wanted Luke to kill the Emperor to fire up the dark side in him and take over the galaxy but seeing his son being killed and having his memories with Padme resurface changed him to where he didnt care about being some overlord. The love that him and Padme shared was literally dying by the hands of his master. Anakin never really could shy away from helping the people he truly loved could he?
Queen Amidala had numerous decoys during her reign. It would make sense for The Emperor to have decoys too. So maybe Palpatine was just a decoy for the real Emperor, Jar Jar!
It has always baffled me that they would make Jar Jar Annoying AND pointless rather than annoying and awesome. The Darth Jar Jar plot twist might have saved the trilogy.
I still remember how I felt when I read that reddit post in the first place. It was literally reality-altering; the closest thing I've ever had to a religious experience in my entire life. Nothing, not even Avengers Endgame was so completely mind-melting for me. I've watched this video four or five times now, and I'll probably continue to watch it periodically for the foreseeable future. Between Lockstin's excellent presentation, and the subject matter itself, I can't get enough.
Honestly, I didn't enjoy Endgame. The most interesting part to me was seeing the new Hulk. Seriously, what's so interesting about it? I get the idea behind Thanos's character is interesting, the Infinity Stones are cool, and a cross-over sounds nice. But it was seriously just another Universe in danger, low point for heroes and Thor, and win. Like, big woop.
And if you use basic physics homework technology, for Jar Jar's Force jump, he doesn't accelerate with a constant velocity downwards, like he turned off gravity for a second at the top. Definitely the Force.
Two things: Star wars 4, 5 & 6 clearly have Palatine as the Emperor. Jar Jar would be a lesser sith or maybe Palatine made a move. Maybe Jar Jar is connected to Dooku somehow. Second, here l am sourcing KOTOR: The life cycle of jedi masters is 1, 000 years. That's the very strongest jedi. Yoda trained jedi for 8 or 9 centuries? Factor time for Yoda's own training (forget that disney nonsense) and you Yoda fits the bill, almost. Not quite 1,000 years but close. And Yoda was exceptionally powerful as a jedi. If Darth Jar Jar was as strong as the theory suggests, he is MUCH older than we suspect.
Jar Jar not being present in 4, 5 or 6 doesn't mean he is a lesser character. It could mean he was meant to die in 2 or 3 or between 3 and 4. But it could mean he was to be in the background pulling strings. He often wasn't dong stuff himself but helping push others along. Palpatine wasn't the main bad guy who was shown in 4, 5 and 6 but rather it was Darth Vader the audience was made to focus on. And with so little effort being spent on Jar Jar's story we dont know if he was 30 years old or 1k years.
The Sith had a plan to take over the Republic for like a 1,000 years. Plaegus knew that to take control of the republic in an effort to destroy the Jedi, they needed a human, that ended up being palpatine.
"or maybe Palpatine made a move" I would be 100% down for this. We already know that Palpatine killed Plageus. What's the death of one more master in pursuit of ultimate power? Imagine that Jar Jar replaces Count Dooku in basically every scene. Obiwan is investigating on Geonosis and he sees Jar Jar negotiating with the trade federation, techno union, etc. Jar Jar faces off with Obiwan, Anakin, and Yoda at the end. Anakin saying "no I'm taking him now!" and charging forward only to be casually disarmed. And then, at the start of Episode III, it is Jar Jar instead of Count Dooku. Anakin, the chosen one, an extremely powerful force user, defeats Jar Jar in combat. And there we have the iconic scene as Palpatine says "Kill him. Kill him now." DEW IT.
I think dooku was basically shoved in there to fill the void of not having jar jar there due to the backlash, i believe yoda was set to duel jar jar as theyre basically a mirror of eachother especially the way they were introduced to us when we first met them.
We did find out later in a canon comic book that takes place after Return of the Jedi, that Jar Jar had been abandoned by everyone due to suspicion of him having being part of the empire.
This theory is in my personal canon. I was never a fan of Count Dooku und Darth Jar Jar would have been a MUCH more emotional fight for Ani, being a former friend.
Or maybe the reason they didn't reveal Jar Jar as the ultimate Sith master in Episode 3... was because they're going to do it in Episode 9, as the mastermind behind Snoke! Jar Jar didn't just pull the strings in the prequel trilogy, but all throughout the entire franchise! His true name... Darth Plagueis! Palpatine never killed him, he possessed a Gungan body! :O
And hey Gungin stuff was shown off for Ep. 7, that was directed by J.J. Abrams; and now for Ep. 9 it's back.......in.......J.J. Abrams 8O. Wait! J.J. Abrams.........Jar Jar Binks. Could the initals (J.J.) in J.J. Abrams name mean Jar Jar! Jar Jar Abrams?!?! That's it! It's been confirmed! Jar Jar Binks will be in Ep. 9!
tony locke Being trained in lightsaber combat by a Sith and being a Sith are two different things. Grievous was not force-sensitive, so there is no way that he could use the dark side of it. The yellow eyes on most of the Sith are a sign of dark side corruption, since Grievous had no connection to the dark side and couldn't have been corrupted by it his eyes had to be natural. This is something reinforced by the old EU/legends, which depicted Kaleesh with yellow eyes.
Yeah, for a while he was me and my sister and brothers favorite character we loved him, so although I’m really starting to believe this theory, it’s also a little sad to think that he is really evil after all, though there IS still a chance that he’s not
I think the last hope to save the newest Star Wars Triology was to introduce Jar Jar again. I'm absolutely not excited for SW EP9, but if I'd know, that Jar Jar would appear I would become totally excited. Revealing him as the master of Snoke as example and being the final boss would be great.
If jar jar had turned out to be the sith master then that and only that would redeem the inclusion of the character So gee thanks folks of the late 90's for causing useful plot line to be changed and making the prequels just meh
Litshttam yea i would have rather enjoyed them telling the story with this current myth lore. really does add a layer of twist that you would expect from a series that surprise hit darth vader being lukes father and lea being his sister.
I just watched this after finishing Star Wars Jedi fallen order and I realized that dark moul and count doku could have been inquisitors while the two actual sithwould have been Sidieus and jar jar all along and when Anakin is brought into the picture he goes into hiding only to come back as snoke
when I think of jar jar revealing himself as sith I imagine him starting out saying "me'sa had you" in his happy voice then continues in a smooth intellgent deep voice "fooled the whole time"
Yes. All my yes.
Yeah, kind of like Tobi in Naruto Shippuuden :D Would have been awesome
Sir BigBeard holy crap that would be awesome
:P I'm a bit of a writer, just busted that out last night
Just imagined Jar Jar suddenly standing up completely straight, starts talking in his sith voice without any weird grammar, while some sort of menacing music stats playing. This could have easily rivaled the Yoda scene in Ep V, where he instantly switched from goofy to wise in the blink of an eye...
There's a scene where Jar Jar listens to Anakin and Qui Gon's conversation on coruscant.
Imagine you hear a very deep voice by a hooded person with a red lightsaber saying "you will die" and he takes the hood off and its jar jar
@@thebestfreakingamer4316 Apparently the whole threat behind Armidale life in Episode 2 was going to be Darth Jar Jar and Jango Fett was working for him.
I mean there was an episode in the clone wars where they thought he was a Jedi and pretty much saved padme from the federation

You get a like for the "astronaut walk" .
So long since watched prequels. Care to give examples of guys that insulted him and later died?
I personally think that if they kept Jar Jar Binks being a Sith Lord would of redeemed his character!

He could have written him funny and lovable instead.

Jar Jar returning in Episode 9 as the big bag would've unironically been a bigger and better twist than Palpatine surviving a death star explosion.
@@brotbrotsen1100 Its not like Star Wars has ever had particularly good writing. It's sort of all about the visuals.

I'm not sure what there is to misunderstand about space knights fighting really uninteresting wars that constantly recycle the same 4 villains over the span of like 9 movies?
That unironically would've made me love Episode 9.
He was 100% animated, this means all his subtle movements hand motions were all done on purpose. I'm so sad they didnt go through with this. Him being dumb was all planned. Him and Palpatine are even from the same planet!
Jar Jar supersedes Palpatine. Even he was manipulated by Jar Jar without even knowing it. This wouldve been the greatest storyline ever.

Jar jar has no redeeming qualities unless this is true. Then, he would be the greatest character ever set up.
And that's why it's such a tragedy that this was not used. Imagine how it would redeem his character and make the prequels improve, it would remove the single biggest issues fans have with that trilogy.
He could have been the single greatest and most interesting Star Wars character ever...
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Jar Jar the wise?
Sidious is a diminutive of insidious which means proceeding in a gradual, subtle way, but with very harmful effects... and Darth Sidious did just that
Vader is a diminutive of vater which means father, and Darth Vader turned out to be Luke's
Plagueis is a diminutive of Pelagianism which is a philosophy in which people can earn salvation through their own efforts (although assisted by God's Grace) and Darth Plagueis discovered a way to save people from death through his own Force assisted efforts
Tyranus, is a diminutive of tyrannosaurus which means "tyrannical lizard" which describes Darth Tyranus... not at all, it would have fit a lizard-like Gungan though. Could be just Tyrannical which still fails to describe Count Dooku. It is entirely possible that Darth Tyranus should have been Jar Jar, which would have been an amazing reveal.

Another example of fan reactions potentially ruining great plans. The prequels would have been a lot better if they'd just stuck with it
It makes me sad of what could have been. I wish they kept it too
I mean the main problem though is that Phantom Menace is still really really bad.
Kurt Crockenberg We need a Darth Jar Jar Spin off movie by Disney to fix the prequels.

Jar Jar's character certainly wasn't perfect, but it turned out his biggest flaw was he was just too perfectly disguised for the average audience(And I have to admit, I absolutely didn't expect a plot twist THIS big).

Michael Driggers there actually is canon force deities in The Clone Wars
Anakin never really could shy away from helping the people he truly loved could he?
this is really cool theory
Honestly, Jar Jar is very much a disruptive figure, a trickster, a sort of dangerous goblin.
Queen Amidala had numerous decoys during her reign. It would make sense for The Emperor to have decoys too. So maybe Palpatine was just a decoy for the real Emperor, Jar Jar!
Obscure Entertainment 90th like
Please explain why he was not, at all, in the original 3?!?!?!?!?!?!?! How do you explain that!!!! R...R...ROASTED!!!!
>:)
Jar Jar is SNOKE!!!
Fabricio Silva I don't believe that for a second.
Fabricio Silva I hate theories... They make good people look bad.
If Qui Gon didn't tackle Jar Jar in episode 1, the star wars galaxy would be a safer place.
Jedi ruin everything
Cole's goddamn Gaming he didnt tackel he ran into....
The most cunning villians are never seen
The trooper cracking his head on the door supports Luke's claim "I can't see a thing in this helmet".
He knows beforehand Padme is Queen, than he says she is hot.

Fun Fact:that line was not scripted
It has always baffled me that they would make Jar Jar Annoying AND pointless rather than annoying and awesome. The Darth Jar Jar plot twist might have saved the trilogy.
darth jar jar binks
I can't believe I watch an almost hour long video-
-about Jar Jar Binks....
mcspence I think you mean supreme chancellor and dictator of the sith Binks
Oh yeah! Yes ur right.
an almost hour long video that was making the case that Jar Jar could have been amazing
Same
Yousa need new vids.
Morrille Nagy you and me both 😔 sigh lol
U need a life my guy
Mu$ic Lover Shut up, you’re here, too.
Simon L. Nissen yeah I watched a video I didn't get my world changed like this weirdo
Jar Jars evil laugh gives me nightmares quite literally.
Played at the end.
Two things:
Star wars 4, 5 & 6 clearly have Palatine as the Emperor.
Mutski1579 but that’s how Palpatine is still alive in The Rise Of Skywalker
"or maybe Palpatine made a move"
I would be 100% down for this.
Kill him now."
DEW IT.
"We both know that there is no luck. There is only the Force." -Master Zhar Lestin.
Mike Or a fellow kotor fan
@Musical Matt Kreia: But as one trained in the Force, you know that true coincidences are rare.
Moral of the video, people that hated The Phantom Menace sabotaged the rest of the prequels with their whining.
Nexon Bomber Pretty much. This has got to be the best example of karma ever. XD
I really love TPM,
You mean Star Wars fans were toxic even back in 1999?
Midichlorians on their own are why I hate TPM. "Use the Force, Luke" is an act of faith, not science.
I would have liked the prequels a lot better if Jar Jar turned out evil...
Anyone else wish this was the actual plot 🤣
Me
Everyone
Anyone with a brain cell would
Who doesn't?
Script should have never changed duspite the hate.
Jørgen A this would be the only way to save the franchise 😂
And isn't it a sad day for a franchise when it has to rely on Jar Jar Binks?
And hey Gungin stuff was shown off for Ep. 7, that was directed by J.J. Abrams; and now for Ep. 9 it's back.......in.......J.J. Abrams 8O. Wait! J.J. Abrams.........Jar Jar Binks. Could the initals (J.J.) in J.J. Abrams name mean Jar Jar! Jar Jar Abrams?!?!
That's it! It's been confirmed! Jar Jar Binks will be in Ep. 9!
I would lose it if thats how it all comes full circle. That would really make my day.
Jørgen A Feh, I have no hope for even that anymore.
The only characters in Star Wars with yellow eyes are sith lords. And Jar Jar has yellow eyes.
And Grievous, who is not a Sith.
yh right cause other alien species wouldn't ave yellow eyes
Armin reindel,yp previous was not a sith, but had been trained in Jedi sabre training
No,the Gungan race have yellow eyes look any picture from different gangan and you see they have also yellow eyes
tony locke Being trained in lightsaber combat by a Sith and being a Sith are two different things.
I didn't like jar jar, but if he was revealed to be the sith master or even sidious' apprentice, I would have liked him so much more.
Daniel Stumpe i want that to happen , cause it would be the biggest star wars plot twist
I think he's in Last Jedi
Lucas didn't go through with it because he had so much hate on Jar Jar
maybe he is snoke in the force awakens
+Tyriek well snoke dies in the new movie and if it was Jar Jar they would've revealed it, and it would've been in the prequels if anything so..
I’m thoroughly disappointed that this didn’t play out
It feels like we were robbed
I never had a problem with Jar Jar , and I think the prequels are excellent movies.
Same. I didn't like adult Anakin more than I didn't like jar jar
I agree with this
Omg so I'm not the only one
Except I didnt like anakin or attack of the clothes
Also yes I did say attack of the clothes
Yeah, for a while he was me and my sister and brothers favorite character we loved him, so although I’m really starting to believe this theory, it’s also a little sad to think that he is really evil after all, though there IS still a chance that he’s not
Anakin, the sequels are evil!
from my point of view the PREQUELS are evil!
Well then you are lost!
If jar jar had turned out to be the sith master then that and only that would redeem the inclusion of the character
So gee thanks folks of the late 90's for causing useful plot line to be changed and making the prequels just meh
exactly
Litshttam yea i would have rather enjoyed them telling the story with this current myth lore. really does add a layer of twist that you would expect from a series that surprise hit darth vader being lukes father and lea being his sister.
Agreed.
I just watched this after finishing Star Wars Jedi fallen order and I realized that dark moul and count doku could have been inquisitors while the two actual sithwould have been Sidieus and jar jar all along and when Anakin is brought into the picture he goes into hiding only to come back as snoke
