Bowser would definitely be a Fire/Dragon type. A Goomba: Ground maybe? A Koopa: not sure, needs more research. Lakitu would definitely be a wind type or at least part wind type.
I'd argue there is an even more obscure enemy than Bowser's brother and its actually from the same game. The sky bloopers, which were literally just slightly pink-ish bloopers from a single level in the game.
I have been saying, I want to Nintendo to make a RTS game of some sort where you play as Bowser in command all of the various Mario enemies from over the years. Your ultimate goal could be kidnapping Peach.
You enter Luigi's dreams, which is why he has his dreamy powers such as multiplying himself for group battles or growing to giant size to battle giant enemies
It’d be cool if we got a Mario RPG where the more obscure enemies are stand ins for the typical Goomba’s, Koopas, etc. like the Strollin’ Stu enemies are stand ins for the Goombas, the Koopa Troopas come in Blue and Yellow variants rather than the Green and Red, the Ant enemies from Super Mario Land 2 are stand ins for Shy Guys, Madpoles are stand ins for Cheep Cheeps, etc.
I did not know about a lot of these enemies but absolutely knew about bowser's brother. He's such a common fun fact for youtubers to bring up, plus as a smash fan I have seen so many people on forums and reddit and stuff talk about alt colour origins.
I like to have more non-pokemon videos from time to time. What a nice rare treat. ^^ Also I had no idea there were this many emines in Maro. But I only ever played Super Mario Brothers 3, Super Maro 3D, and Maro Odyssey ^^;
As someone who liked Mario Land 1 and 2 as a kid, I'm a bit well-versed in the lesser-known enemies of the 80's and 90's. My favorite obscure enemy that always comes to mind is Otto from Donkey Kong 94. The octopus that latches onto you in the second Iceberg world stage. That game in general had many one-off enemies.
One enemy I've recently come to know is Panser from SMB2 USA. Not a particularly interesting enemy but I am quite fond of its official art from Super Mario Advance. They seem chill.
4:12 Super Obscure Fun fact about the Fire Nipper Plant: In Paper Mario: The Origami King, regular Nipper Plants are enemies in the game, however, if you check their description in the Musée Champignon, it says how they're able to spit fire, although they don't have a fire attack in game, they have unused code which suggests they were suppose to have a fire spit attack, so technically, they we're gonna appear again, but they didn't.
1:51 Another fun fact: Mario Bros 2 did start out as a Mario game really early on, then became Doki Doki Panic, and then went back to being a Mario game. Now that’s something you most likely didn’t know.
17:36 Unless you try time attacking the game, you can find something there you wouldn’t in the sequels. Surprisingly it makes Bowser being so simple to beat flow better in a Time Attack setting.
Been loving the frequent content as of late! Maybe it isn't more frequent, but it feels like it. Just so fresh video ideas that they stick with you until the next one is uploaded!
A Mario enemies video from Lockstin and Gnoggin? Sure, I'll take it! As one who considers myself an unabashed fan of Super Mario, I quite like the variety of enemies within. Generic mooks like Goomba, Hammer Bro, Koopa Troopa, Dry Bones, and Boo are neat. That said, I enjoy many of the odd one-off baddies. The little Dracula dude in Super Mario Land 2 is fun; I call him Draculad. I'm also big on the Cowfish, Ant, Spikey, and Bopping Toady. You touched on the yellow Koopa Troopa from Super Mario World. Blue is another rare color for basic Koopas, although that is seen in comparatively more games. Not bad, Lockstin!
I think Bowser’s Brother has became more known over the years in the Mario community, even getting high in Shaphrillas’ poll where you say 5 of your favorite Mario characters. Yeah, it is in the Mario community where he’s more known in, but still.
fun fact, bowser was originally supposed to be blue(shown in the manuals(I think)), but the NES wasn't able to show it(when they made the game bc, you know, his brother is blue in the lost levels), so he looked green, but now he's green not blue
I hope you do more Mario enemy videos like this in the future! It's something I've always been just as passionate about as Pokémon, Goombas are my all-time fav video game enemy ever lol
the next Mario game definitely needs to be "The Ballad of Bowser's Brother" or something like that. have Blue Bowser frame Green Bowser, and eventually we get to have a goofy scene of like "Which Bowser's the real Bowser?!"
My favourite obscure enemy is the Squiggler. These baby wiggler appear in only ONE level in NSMB for the DS. There is also ONE as an NPC in Mario&Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (and its remake), but that's it.
8:56 his name in Japanese is "kurokyura", a portmanteau of the words "kuro" (meaning black or dark) and "dorakyura" (how a Japanese would write Dracula). That makes the best translation of his name to be "Blackula" :D
15:12 Isn’t there a creature like this in Sunshine? It works more like a power up in that game; it gets attracted to spraying water, allowing you to fill it up like a balloon before launching it like a rocket at enemies. Is this Smeech the same thing?
Wart wasn’t in Dream Team for two reasons 1. You don’t go into Mario’s dreams. You go into Luigi’s. 2. It’s established that every location of the real world has a corresponding section of the Dream World. Dream Team doesn’t take place in the Mushroom Kingdom, so the odds of seeing Wart again are as good as seeing anyone else.
I love this video so much, i'm a huge fan of obscure enemies. Only 2 enemies here were things i havent seen before (spring & poison bubble) HOWEVER. I know of the most obscure enemy. Its barely even an enemy, but i'd say it still counts. In mario 2 from super mario bros advance, in world 5-2, in the second jar, there is an enemy called "bouncing blade". It looks weird, so i think its worth mentioning. I'm honored to know so many stupid obscure little enemies
2:03 thanks for calling me out I just don't really care. My brain as a child hyper focused on the Pokémon franchise and it had absolutely zero tolerance and attention span for Mario and a few other franchises around that time because I was poor and Pokémon had an anime on TV. I never actually played the games until I was at least 12 years old. I still have trouble gravitating towards Mario games but my gf loves Mario games and we do enjoy Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros even though technically they're just Nintendo games with Mario available as a character. So yeah. I just don't care about Mario. But. I do care about Mr Lockstin and I will support anyway I can for free. Liked, subscribed, and here is my comment. Have a good day sir. 😎
...what... Another...non Pokémon ...nintendo...not about Pokémon at all...video?That isn't the modern Lockstin , but here he is ,with variety once again, random yes,but am I thankfull?Yes It's about Mario enemies to I love those guys, gald your back with One of these again Like seriously, his last video on Mario was 6 YEARS AGO
15:12. I think Smeech or another, very similar enemy is found in Bianco Hills in Mario Sunshine. I remember trying and failing to use them against Petey Pirhanana, but he moved too sporadically and it took too long to aim the Smeeches. Memory lane is a'calling me now.
unless they had a different named I'm not aware of, the piledriver micro-goomba's appeared again in new super mario bros, this time they also had a question block at their base
Childhood me says Torpedo Ted to the title. Searched that game high and low and if a friend of a friends family from out of town wasn't bragging bout finding everything I probably wouldn't have found it till RUclips XD
Hey now..... what's with not counting Mario Maker? MM2 even has its own comprehensive story mode with cut scenes and unique mechanics. Mario Maker counts!
I say the cheep cheep bird is the most obscure Mario enemy I didn’t even know it even existed until now since it’s overshadowed by the fish enemies with the same name
The one so obscure that not even you mentioned it. Like seriously. Who actually remembers bowhow? It only appears once and only if you can get an exploding boo to kill a ruby chain chomp.
Lockstin Fact: SML2 is one of my go-to games when I need a dose of nostalgia, it's so comfy.

hi
First
Despite Mario World being my first video game besides Super Metroid, the two Mario Land games are the ones I have the fondest memories of.
as a Kid I LOVED Lost Levels MORE the the original Super Mario Bros I don't know WHY? but I just found it more fun
What about the muddy buddy or the melon bug from yoshis island (technically they aren’t enemies but it’s close enough)
Video Idea: Turning Mario Enemies into Pokémon
Turn Pokemon into Mario Enemies
This, but with enemies from Zelda-games.
Wait... someone already does that.
What at the reverse? It’s always something to Pokemon, and not the inverse
Bowser would definitely be a Fire/Dragon type. A Goomba: Ground maybe? A Koopa: not sure, needs more research. Lakitu would definitely be a wind type or at least part wind type.
Turning Lockstin and Gnoggin into a Pokemon
A video not about a creature collector?! Crazy things happening in 2024! I’d like to see more!
wdym? Mario is a creature collector, just look at Puzzle and Dragons Mario!
Rare non-pokemon Lockstin video is cool
I second this
16:33 go back. go back. they made a FOREST VARIANT of the FIREBAR??
I'd argue there is an even more obscure enemy than Bowser's brother and its actually from the same game. The sky bloopers, which were literally just slightly pink-ish bloopers from a single level in the game.
I have been saying, I want to Nintendo to make a RTS game of some sort where you play as Bowser in command all of the various Mario enemies from over the years.
Your ultimate goal could be kidnapping Peach.
Not really RTS I think but _Bowser's Minions_ and _Bowser Jr.'s Journey_ are just there.
That idea would need a lot of work to be profitable.
To answer the question at 3:14, it would be because you never enter Mario's dreams during Dream Team
You enter Luigi's dreams, which is why he has his dreamy powers such as multiplying himself for group battles or growing to giant size to battle giant enemies
It’d be cool if we got a Mario RPG where the more obscure enemies are stand ins for the typical Goomba’s, Koopas, etc. like the Strollin’ Stu enemies are stand ins for the Goombas, the Koopa Troopas come in Blue and Yellow variants rather than the Green and Red, the Ant enemies from Super Mario Land 2 are stand ins for Shy Guys, Madpoles are stand ins for Cheep Cheeps, etc.

this
4:29 the Shoomba
Funnily enough, Wart is actually referenced in a piece of dialogue in Paper Mario Color Splash, no actual appearance though.
I like to have more non-pokemon videos from time to time. What a nice rare treat. ^^ Also I had no idea there were this many emines in Maro. But I only ever played Super Mario Brothers 3, Super Maro 3D, and Maro Odyssey ^^;
2:35
Albatoss, not Albatross. Because it tosses the Bob-Ombs.
Thank you. I needed a Lockstin video today
12:50 yk i feel like you’ve could’ve said that one differently 💀
As someone who liked Mario Land 1 and 2 as a kid, I'm a bit well-versed in the lesser-known enemies of the 80's and 90's.
My favorite obscure enemy that always comes to mind is Otto from Donkey Kong 94. The octopus that latches onto you in the second Iceberg world stage. That game in general had many one-off enemies.
12:58
Bro turns into gangaer when stoned lmaof
One enemy I've recently come to know is Panser from SMB2 USA. Not a particularly interesting enemy but I am quite fond of its official art from Super Mario Advance. They seem chill.
Fliprus is genuinely one of my favorite Mario enemies, it has such an interesting design, I wish it was in more stuff
Also there’s a much more iconic blue bowser: dark bowser from Mario and luigi
The Chuckya came back in a way in Sunshine in the form of Chucksters, and I always really liked what they did with them since it's so funny
I think its that turtle dragon guy forgot his name tho
2:03 PEPPINO SPAGHETTI???
HE'S MAKING NON-POKEMON VIDEOS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER!!!
YAHOO!!!
fun fact: The Pile Driver Micro Goomba's concept was later reused for an enemy in New Super Mario Bros. DS, I loved those things as a kid.
I love the pile driver goomba
Pile driver micro goomba*
@ I appreciate you correcting me on the hyper specific name but I’ll make you brush your teeth with your nose hairs you little freak
4:12 Super Obscure Fun fact about the Fire Nipper Plant:

3:16
Probably because Wort was dreamed up by Mario, and Dream Team's main mechanic involves going into Luigi's dreams.
1:51
Another fun fact: Mario Bros 2 did start out as a Mario game really early on, then became Doki Doki Panic, and then went back to being a Mario game. Now that’s something you most likely didn’t know.
17:36
Unless you try time attacking the game, you can find something there you wouldn’t in the sequels. Surprisingly it makes Bowser being so simple to beat flow better in a Time Attack setting.
not mentioning tweeter from super mario bros. 2 USA is a crime
What about georgette jelly or dangling ghost from super Mario world 2: yoshis island. They only appeared in that game only in one level (I think)
Georgette jelly is I think the most obscure,
18:00 what about the red piranha plant that appears even if you stand on its pipe
Been loving the frequent content as of late! Maybe it isn't more frequent, but it feels like it. Just so fresh video ideas that they stick with you until the next one is uploaded!
As a Mario Romhack player, do not bring back Chuckya, it will only wreak pain upon this world.
I love the idea of Bowser having a brother, it adds so many possibilities.

When will Swirling Seasons come out Mr. Lockwood?
While not from a mainline game, I would like to add Sobarribad from Super Paper Mario to the list because its name is so goofy I just love it
the next Mario game definitely needs to be "The Ballad of Bowser's Brother" or something like that. have Blue Bowser frame Green Bowser, and eventually we get to have a goofy scene of like "Which Bowser's the real Bowser?!"
9:58
Works pretty well in English if even in a different way. “Bull Fish”
4:30 Kuribo's Goomba. Goomba's Goomba.
Wart comes back in Link's Awakening, but keeps his Doki Doki Panic name of Mamu.
Didn't expect a Mario video from this channel. But obscure Mario enemies is like one of the most weirdly specific fascinations i have, so i'm all down
15:12 Isn’t there a creature like this in Sunshine? It works more like a power up in that game; it gets attracted to spraying water, allowing you to fill it up like a balloon before launching it like a rocket at enemies. Is this Smeech the same thing?
Wart wasn’t in Dream Team for two reasons
You played the Mario Sunshine music for like 2 seconds and it's still stuck in my head despite finishing the video.
I love this video so much, i'm a huge fan of obscure enemies. Only 2 enemies here were things i havent seen before (spring & poison bubble)
HOWEVER.
I have literally never stopped talking about Bowser's Brother since Mario Party Jamboree was announced.
2:03 thanks for calling me out I just don't really care. Omg what smb2 was originally dokidoki panic. What a mindblowing fact right there xD
the fact that at 12:58 his face is replaced by a gengar's face instead makes me laugh
...what... Another...non Pokémon ...nintendo...not about Pokémon at all...video?That isn't the modern Lockstin , but here he is ,with variety once again, random yes,but am I thankfull?Yes
It's about Mario enemies to I love those guys, gald your back with One of these again
Like seriously, his last video on Mario was 6 YEARS AGO
YESSSSSS MORE CREATURE CONTENT! There are awsome monster designs in videogames outside monster collectors I'm so glad Lockstin is branching out
13:49 Did not need a reminder of how much time had passed it makes me feel old lmao
15:12. I think Smeech or another, very similar enemy is found in Bianco Hills in Mario Sunshine. I remember trying and failing to use them against Petey Pirhanana, but he moved too sporadically and it took too long to aim the Smeeches. Memory lane is a'calling me now.
I think we should start tricking everybody by saying that Super Mario Bros. 2 was originally a game released exclusively in Japan called Gumshoe.
This is Lockstin's return to form. I'm so glad to see you cover different games again like you used to, you've come back full circle ❤
What if Mario and Luigi was in pokemon game? what team would they have? What if it was a full game based on the mushroom kingdoms
6:32 But Lockstinn, that displays a great imagination…
Wart is in Zelda Link's Awakening, which is also a dream!
I think Bowser's Brother is fair because as a supernerd I knew about all of these except Spring, Cheep Cheep, and Bowser's Brother
0:24 Kid Icarus Uprising! I miss that game so much. Wished Nintendo will do a new game on it someday
And people wonder why I make so many 3D models of Mario characters... there are so many obscure ones, and with such fun designs!
I love obscure enemies!
I have always love seeing different enemies and there variants across different games!
I did beat the Lost Levels as a kid but I did think that was just Bowser again. Had no idea they were supposed to be different characters.
Bowser's Brother was ironically one of the only ones in the video I immediately knew.
Woo hoo MARIO lmao
unless they had a different named I'm not aware of, the piledriver micro-goomba's appeared again in new super mario bros, this time they also had a question block at their base
Shoutout to the Mattermouths imo, appear in a single galaxy I believe, as well as a Mario party minigame
I think I have seen the blue bowser before, but never knew the reason for the color change or that he was bowser's brother. Great video :)
This video takes me back to when Gnoggin wasn’t a Pokémon only channel! Love to see stuff like this! 👏👏👏
Clearly its snailicorn
never really thought of bowser's bother being the most obscure, probably because i already know about him
Childhood me says Torpedo Ted to the title. Searched that game high and low and if a friend of a friends family from out of town wasn't bragging bout finding everything I probably wouldn't have found it till RUclips XD
It's awesome to see a non-Pokemon, non-monster catcher from you again. I quite enjoyed this video!
Something about the pacing of this video feels so surreal
13:48 you didn't have to do that to me…
I think Wart didn't appear in Dream Team because you go into Luigi's dreams and Mario Bros. 2 was in Mario's dream
Massive wasted opportunity that in Mario party jamboree they don't use fake Bowser instead of making up "impostor bowser"
"I like wood" Pause 😂
Hey now..... what's with not counting Mario Maker? MM2 even has its own comprehensive story mode with cut scenes and unique mechanics. Mario Maker counts!
Oh those boo blocks making me act...
DOWN DEVIANTLY HORRENDOUSLY DEMONIC~!!!
I say the cheep cheep bird is the most obscure Mario enemy
I didn’t even know it even existed until now since it’s overshadowed by the fish enemies with the same name
I think you should go over the designs of the subspace emmisary enemies, they're really intresting
I'm pretty sure Bowser's brother is about as well known as the Doki Doki panic fact.
Oh, man! Seeing some of the old GameBoy Mario games is hitting me with nostalgia
I don’t think Bowsers brother is the most obscure at least it's slightly known for being obscure
A Mario video from Lockstin? In 2024!?!?
The one so obscure that not even you mentioned it. Like seriously. Who actually remembers bowhow? It only appears once and only if you can get an exploding boo to kill a ruby chain chomp.
I actually knew about the Fake Bowser! So thats cool!
SNAILICORN MIGHT NOT BE THE MOST OBSCURE BUT HES THE BEST OBSCURE ENEMY
PREACH SNAILICORN
Carlito get in here, talk to this man.
Cheep-cheep are birds, not fish! They have wings, a tail, and a mohawk!
