    Our wheel lift tow truck is down and I knew enough to be safe in a flatbed, but I knew I was fighting myself every time with strap tightness and unloading the trucks. This video has me moving smooth and using my body a lot smarter. Thank you so much! -Young Fleet Mechanic

This was very informational and gave me alot of insight. Something I would recommend to add in the future is 1. Where to stop backing up when loading a vehicle
    2. When to start tilting your bed, whether it be loading or unloading.

    Nice job. I've been towing for 20 years and I do just like you did, except my company wants us to use tie down chains on the rear. See ya in the ditch!

    That answers my question. I heard many people say you can't tow a car with automatic that won't start. But obviously you can for the 20 feet or so it takes to get it up on a deck.

      Would you say the long J hooks are obsolete ???

    • @donaldchastain6847
      @donaldchastain6847  6 лет назад +1

      I still use big J Hooks every once in awhile when I'm pulling cars out of deep ditches or in the snow but most of the times I just use my small hooks

    This is really good. I’d just like to add that the laws generally require 4 tie downs minimum. Not including the winch.

    a well wound cable is the first sign of a good responsable operator , i will try strapping a car like that next time , i have a HD tilt tray i move earthmoving gear so i dont have the standard car gear but everyone has 4 straps to choke a tyre ,good tip
    im not going to nit pick your procedure we all have our ways as long as it is safe and secure ,no damage
