I know that area so well I could be a city guide! Have done food delivery Ubereats/Doordash for Old Town on a bicycle since like the summer of 2021. It's amazing to see an affordable unit in an area with mostly overpriced apartments. There are apartments like this in older complexes easily going for 1.5-2k a month.

My guess for under 1k price/mo is that it's a condo owned by someone, being rented out. Similar to a 3 bed house for rent, 1900 a month, if you divide that by 3 roommates, its under 650 a month per person. When the real estate being rented out is owned by homeowners wanting passive income the pricing tends to be a lot less greedy. I think the real shocker will be, can we expect to see studios and 1 beds that are part of apartment complexes, not condos, be at this price or less too. If the new president can and local govt can stop these 2-3 companies controlling all the rent prices that would be a dream come true in AZ (it was a news story on 3TV maybe 6 months ago look it up, its a cartel of companies keeping all the prices up and they are being sued)

One problem is you'll need to keep your shades drawn for privacy as the walkway will have constant traffic. And what's with the noise? Sounds like the walls are paper thin.

That has been sitting on the market for 90 days because maybe when it rains outside something happens maybe it's too low on the ground bugs crawling other things crawl in who knows what happened at night

I tried living in Allentown Pa once, lasted there just about 3 years..and 6 apts, with 2 evictions and 5 jobs later, walked over to the bus station and asked for one ticket for the next bus leaving Allentown, and it took me to the Jersey Shore and I am still here 55 years later.
