I don't understand this need to announce everything. Give Ukraine the ok privately. Let them take first stike operations then announce the change a few days later. Ukraine certainly has a full list of targets that are about to be pounded but I dont get why we need to announce every single thing the day it is happens.
These maps and info are typically 1-2 days delayed. So there is nothing that the Russians don't already know.

You gotta understand that ambivalent communication has a purpose in war. Keep them guessing. If they're not sure if you're allowing deep strikes with ATACMS they still have to prepare for strikes but you don't have to expend valuable missiles. And if they decide you're not really gonna send ATACMs and relax their preparations you can stlil send them and catch them with their pants down.

Thank you. My government (USA) seems to give (ATACMS use) with 1 hand and take away with the other, (no support for actual victory for Ukraine.) Sigh. I keep writing them but get no reply. I haven't been this ashamed of my government since the Vietnam war, then the Iraq war. There is something very wrong with my politicians.
They have big ammo stockpiles near train depots on the Russian side of the border. Moving all that ammo fast is not likely. Transporting every shell with trucks in an extended 300km range is not going to work very well either...
I wonder how Ukraine can wage war based on your hypothesis? Apparently Ukraine needs to store their ammo in Poland?

@@allydea Remember Germany started the war by sending helmets, every incremental step of leveling the battleground are going to aid Ukraine. In the end they are fighting for their survival as a nation, and have good reasons to keep on fighting. I don't think the West will tire very soon either, every bombed hospital makes the people in the Western countries outraged, and reinforces their support, and the politicians will abide to the will of the people.

I think Western strategy is more focused on withering Russia, rather than help Ukraine. Western leaders basically say "Yes, Ukraine needs to survive but not more than that" - most energy is focused on what weakens Russia without destroying the regime fully.

So now the next logical step would be the delivery of medium-range or intermediate-range ballistic missiles. Do you know if any NATO countries have them in their inventory?
France Germany and Uk have build up a secret stash.
Those reusable drones will have their range cut in two in comparison to kamikaze drones as the reusable ones need to go back too. The launcher is also an additional weight, so the range will also be but by a certain amount. The positive is of course you get your drone back, you can use this launcher again and the biggest advantage that I see is that you have better chances against vehicles with jammers as you can fire the round from a certain distance, you don't have to hit the target with the drone - obviously hitting the target that is moving from a distance from a drone platform might not be trivial in itself.
Also what I find mildly funny, if I'm not mistaken it's M72 disposable launcher so it's not inteded to be reused. Of course it is possible to be reloaded, it's just not the way they were inteded to be used.

Without a doubt, political demands and lack of support from the Western allies are the biggest current dangers for Ukraine. Should the status quo continue, it should have the advantage, but can we count on that, let alone on an increase? There are a considerable number of Russian armament factories nd repair facilities within missile range of Ukraine. These shoild have been destroyed many months ago and would have had a significant effect on the frontline. Ukraine and Ukranians are paying a heavy price for their inability to hit these targets.
