I do a bit of sublingual melatonin. I put it under the tongue, and forget about it. Most of the time it works. I’ll try that magnesium idea that another person added to the conversation. I heard that a lack of acetylcholine can be part of the problem. It might be worth a try to also take with that magnesium, some phosphatidyl choline.
Boy am I "really stupid." Found that a dose of magnesium puts me back to sleep. Also, a definite (at least for me) is eating some protein. A couple soft boiled eggs and I back to sleep. Likely screwing up my circadian rhythm but it works. Guessing blood is sent to my stomach for digestion and that does something.
Hi Scott, thanks for sharing. I take magnesium in the evening and it helps me sleep. The soft boiled eggs; interesting that that works for you! I am sure the process of boiling the eggs would wake me up too much.
4-7-8 breathing actually causes more stress on the system rather than soothing it down.the stress causes more wakefulness. It seems like a bad idea to me.
I highly doubt the "breath half breath causes the heart to beat twice as fast" amongst many of the other weird theoriee of this doctor. Another one is the "deep rrelaxation is worith 25% of sleep"...
