Hi Richard. I wonder what has happened to Dr. Katcher himself? It's fantastic to see renewed interest in this line of research. It seems a very difficult line of research. For example, I'm sure I remember Dr. Katcher was saying he couldn't get it to work using certain populations of pigs because of the higher fat content in their blood because of the food fed to the animals in North America. Thanks for keeping us in the loop on this exciting work, Richard. Stirling work, my friend.
Hi Anthony, thanks. My understanding is that Dr Katcher is back in Salt Lake City and working on some experiments, but I have no details. He did say that, he suspected the pig feed was not suitable in the US. It will be interesting to see as Nicolas is using local pigs from Brazil.
I would like to know if removing a sufficient amount of old plasma, which would also take out a fraction of ECVs some of which would be older, would prompt the body to produce ECVs which are younger and work better, at least for a time. If so, simple plasma donation, which takes out 25% of plasma volume, might be a way to refresh some of our ECVs without going the interspecies route. I'm a bit disappointed that the 2020 Conboy work, which showed that simply removing old plasma had rejuvenating effects, hasn't moved forward, except for an effort to dress it up and charge a lot money (Kiprov and others).
Hello - have read mixed ideas on the downside effect of this treatment - this from what damage the plasma machinery might do to all blood cells during the process outside body.
Why would old cells magically start producing young extracellular vesicles? They'd need to be told to be young again first, which is the point of epigenetic reprogramming, which is what young exosomes are supposed to do (without all the headaches of artificial methods).
@@michael-qp9xd There is no data from FDA or my local blood donation center on this. I have heard Conboy herself speculate on this supposed harm. Would be helpful if you know of something that supports this to let us know.
@@unutilisateur4729 Look over the 2020 paper by Irina Conboy. Also, fasting has been shown to kill off older cells and replenish certain blood cells. See work of Valter Longo.
The preliminary testing in Brazil looked at inflammation for safety reasons, I think, and does not mean that E5 effects are due to a reduction in inflammation.
Hi Thanks for the comment. I think that clearance of senescent cells would be part of the process. Though that may be because the immune system gets rejuvenated which then clears the senescent cells.
@ModernHealthspan There are products that contain bio available fisetin, quercetin, apigenin and black tea theaflavins, that so say clear senescent cells. 3/week.
Thank you Richard for this great video. I am, too a big enthusiast of Dr. Katcher’s theory of aging and his breakgroud work with E-5. Would be nice for you to interview these Brazilian researchers, don't you think? And… any update on Dr. Katcher? He left the company, what is he up to these days?
Hi Tatiana, thanks! I will be interviewing the team from Brazil next week and will post the video as soon as possible. As for Dr Katcher, he is back in Salt Lake City and I heard that he has a lab but I don't have any updates on his progress.
I think it’s great that you are keeping us all updated. Is there any indication that injecting pig exosomes into humans would have a similar effect? I think this is amazing research if it’s real. My only concern was that if it’s such great research, why are they doing it in India and Brazil and why not in New Mexico or Texas? From one of the videos I saw it just looked like a shabby little office with a couple cardboard boxes and rats in it… and having lived in India I know how easily things can be corrupted in that country although I absolutely love India. This would absolutely be the most amazing thing if it worked on humans. And quite honestly I am surprised that nobody else tried replicating this on humans yet even for a personal experience. Is it a complicated process to isolate pig exosomes? is there any risk in injecting pig exosomes into our bodies? Sign me up! Although I am not having a scientific mind myself, I am curious what would be involved in so far as applying this to humans. Thank you for your amazing videos… (Although I encourage you to try to make yourself look a little more animated, as sometimes you just look like you’re reading off a Teleprompter…. But even so, your videos are amazing and really just amazing.) Thank you 🙏🏼
I think Dr. Katcher used a topical treatment on his skin on one hand, I recall watching the video (I think on this channel) and the difference between the skin on his 2 hands was shockingly impressive.
It's common for small companies to outsource their researches to other countries. 1. the cost would be a lot less. 2. policies are a lot less strict. 3. products can come to market a lot sooner, meaning they can start making money a lot sooner. I'm NOT saying this will be the case, but there are many researches giving out false data to get "invest" money then after awhile they disappear. Don't be eager to infect yourself with "promise" data, there are many false promises from doctors and researches.
There is one indication that this might work in humans. Dr. Horvath developed a special age test for this study that works in both rats and humans. The test showed a reduction in age for the rats, so that is somewhat encouraging with respect to humans.
Hi Thanks for the feedback, I will try to be more natural and put more expression in to the videos. WRT to the location of the studies, I think a lot of it is historical. Dr Katcher's first partner was from India and the Nicolas is based in Brazil. Yuvan did try to set something up in the US but it did not work. I don't have any information on why. WRT a couple of your questions: Is there any reason to think this will work in humans. I would say yes. It is similar in concept to what Dr Hans Kierstead is doing with stem cell secretome and exosomes from umbilical cord stem cells have therapeutic value. Is there any danger? The concern would be any rejection. Whole blood cannot be transferred (we cannot even transfer between humans safely without matching blood types). So far just the exosomes seems to be fine, it works with rats but more testing in larger mammals needs to be done.
The lack of research in this area is puzzling. I have a suspicion that it's actually happening, but we just aren't hearing about it. People could be operating in stealth mode, or billionaires could be self-funding their own treatment. In both cases, I wouldn't expect to hear about it.
Hi thanks. Part of it may be because until the official paper in Oct 2023, the details of the active ingredients were not made public. But I agree with you, compared to other areas of rejuvenation research, such as partial reprogramming it seems much easier to make happen. You could be correct that it is being investigated privately.
This technology has been used in human now. Effects are not durable. A schedule of Re-treatment using plasma fractions from 18-25 year old donors must be maintained at determined intervals. If not, regression to chronological mean (aka normalization back to baseline) takes place. No references provided at this time. This is simply my understanding from all the published and unpublished data that has been gathered to date.
Of course the effects are not durable, and re-treatments are required. A repeated therapy is only available to Billionaires if human donors are used. That is why they are experimenting with xeno transplantation from pigs, then mere multi millionaires can afford the repeated therapy!
That's unfortunate, but then we're asking a lot of this treatment. If it ultimately meant we had to get a fresh infusion every few months, that would be fine.
Hi thanks for the comment. Yes, Dr Katcher also mentioned that, conceptually it moves the clock back but the clock will still be ticking, so a regular repeat will be needed. When I discussed this with Dr Katcher he said he "guesses" once every few years but as he said, we really don't know. That is one of the key reasons in using pig exosomes, they are much cheaper than a human source. And a final thought, right now I don't think that we have any single therapy which will solve all the issues of aging. But if this solution had even some of the impact it does on rats for humans it would be a great step forward.
Hi thanks. Being skeptical is always good, but understanding some of the background I am still hopeful. Dr Katcher came up with the idea on his own but was not attached to a lab and had no resources to pursue it.
Hi Roberto, thanks for the question. I don't think that will work. Not sure how effective the absorption of the exosomes through the gut would be. And the dose is very high. It needs to overwhelm the existing exosomes from the old cells. As I recall Dr Katcher said that the treatment was equivalent to 4 times the number of exosomes that the rat normally has. This is partly why the solution won't work with human exosomes (which do seem to provide benefit in small quantities); it is not economically feasible.
Hi Richard - dr katcher method now investigated for several yrs - seems moving very very slowly. Have heard him being interviewed many times past few yrs. Wonder why not moving to human testing outside usa as probably some willing to volunteer. And too as he talks so confidently of compound not tried himself as getting very old. Good update here and thanks for your efforts.
Hi Michael, thanks for the comment. It has certainly moved very slowly. I think this is partly because Dr Katcher came up with the theory on his own and had no team to help him. Also I can see that it needs to be thoroughly tested as the intervention involves injecting factors from pigs into humans.
Id rather live like a pauper than give up my quarterly exosome infusions. At 66 they are mildly transformative and feel great. Lets get data on us humans?>😉
They took something out of pigs blood and put it in rats. The rats started to behave as if half their age. Various biomarkers were tested too and showed a halving of age in most of the tests. This has not been tested on humans yet.

In short, no. In order to maintain the youthfulness impact yields treatment must be must be continued and maintained.
Clearance of senescent cells, (Since they crank out pro inflammatory molecules 24/7 and get healthy tissue to join in) should produce similar results.
