Great review Lexi!! I almost hate to ask but did you talk to Cherlynn low and compare findings??? I assume there’s some professional rivalry there haha but you’re both great at reviews!
Hi Lexy ,great video ..Will you recommend returning garmin venu 2 plus and getting this one . I also ordered the fold 4 . Please help .I don't hike or anything but mostly interested in sleep ,heart rate tracking .
I remember the first time I bumped it into a doorframe, I was so afraid that I scuffed the watch but I just had to wipe the paint off and repaint the door frame XD.
I just never use ALWAYS ON. I wear my watch constantly and raising my wrist to see the time is absolutely perfect. I'm coming from the Galaxy Active 2 which was a problem from the start, (VERY short battery life, display phantom triggering amongst other things!), and it recently died on a water therapy session. I reactivated my original galaxy watch in the interim from ordering this one. I personally REALLY like the virtual bezel, my original watch the bezel jammed, unable to move it. It moves now but very tightly, not a good thing. Interesting strap for seniors who's hand mobility is starting to be an issue, I had to put an expandable band on my Galaxy Active 2, and am interested to see how the magnetic latching works. Thanks for a great review, I'm really going to like this watch, I can tell!
@4:33 If you're going to activate the "Always On" display while being outdoors and it's bright outside, you can disable the "Autobrightness" feature and adjust the display's brightness manually.
honestly , today i went to best-buy to check new Iphone and Apple watch ultra before ordering , and i saw this watch .. which made me confuse , because this is beautiful , colorful bright watch , i am in love but downside is i do not have Samsung Phone .. this watch is beautiful , look like a real watch ...i am in love . also Samsung fold 4 ... i really thinking to go over Samsung ..
Pre-ordered mines last week and received it this pass Monday. So far I love it. It really isn't much different than the watch 4. Mainly I'm loving the better battery life I guess mainly do to the bigger battery. It seems to run smoother and faster then the watch 4. However it could be just from being new. I like the bigger size and the build. Feels premium. I do kinda miss the rotating bezel on a premium device but the digital one isn't too bad. Expectly with practice. The new band style is great. Only issue I see is if u need to do reverse charging from you Galaxy device. The band makes it almost impossible unless you remover it. But again do to the bigger battery you hopefully won't need to charge. A stand would have been nice to sit it on while charging though. Since it doesn't sit flat on a desktop. Overall I'm very happy with it.
I swapped out band almost immediately it just doesn't fit right on baby wrists i have some nice stainless steel bands snd getting a mesh titanium one ive had my eyes on
My Cons in 4 days using it: 1) Google Pay/ Samsung Pay - obligatory Pin when set, locks the watch, not the app. Any time the watch gets lose in your wrist it triggers the lock and you have to use the pin even to check the time. In the Tizen days, it would lock only Samsung Pay. Very annoying feature. 2) No rotating bezel - The virtual bezel is not precise so I have now been using the screen to scroll. 3) ECG does not work for non Samsung phone users. 4) I expected the battery to last longer, so far I disabled the NFT and GPS to have the battery last more than 24 hours. Pros: 1) Very fast charging 2) The watch lip protects the screen 3) Google Assistant 4) Beautiful and useful watch faces out of the box
Interesting, I have NFT and GPS on and used it for a 10 hour work shift and still had one day and 14 hours left (battery level sitting at 81 to 83 percent).
That battery doesn't sound right at all for a GW5 pro. Maybe if the battery isn't lasting longer than a day, I would suggest taking it in and seeing if you can get a replacement because the battery could be defective.
How fast is the charging? Let's say you take a shower. Will it kast you all day? And did you wear it to bed? I wear my current watch basically 24/7 and love the tracking but it can be buggy at times so I'd like to upgrade.
I use mine with my S22 Ultra. I had the Watch 3 Classic to Watch 5 Pro and it has noticeably improved battery life (Always On feature enabled) and more importantly, a working ECG app which was very frustrating to use on the old one. It still does not have the Blood Presure and now adding to the list, the skin temperature sensor. With my unfortunate frustrating experience with Samsung lately, I would recommend the watch if you lower down your expections down to "As-Is" from it. From the beginning, it went downhill, they would not ship it to my work and I end up taking off work abruptly 2-days just to finally receive it at my residence. The clasp on the Sports D-band that Samsung requires you to bundle to buy broke within 4 days and both online and onsite local Samsung CSR could not help me. The former even wants me to ship everything back and order everything back (with no more promotional charging mat) and having to deal with taking off work again just to receive the replacement. It's just the band that's broken! Grocery shopping is not exactly an extreme sport and yet not a year, not 6-months, not 1-month, not 1-week, but the $40 Samsung band only lasted 4 days.
Excellent review. Nice to see a reviewer who is ok with larger watches. I also appreciate the mention of those of us who aren't too fussed about the fitness stuff. Yep, think this will be my next smart watch. Shame I won't have access to everything because I will be using it with a Pixel 6pro, but I can't be wearing that Google Watch. Not my style at ALL
The sapphire glass on this watch is much more reflective than ones on watch 4 (not sapphire.) So it's a compromise I suppose, more scratch resistant but harder to see in bright sunlight.
Couldn't pass up on the opportunity to trade up my Moto 360 2nd gen. Get my gray titanium model tomorrow. For how basic I am with my watches its def gonna meet my needs.
I have the Galaxy 3 and i still love it. I have been excited to see the 5 pro. I do have a question, now that galaxy is using google, would i be able to download apple music to the watch? (For music control) I dont use spotify.
Not sure if it has a native apple music app but I would think it links with your Samsung's or phones media controls where you can at least pause, forward, back, and change volume.
I regret upgrading from the Frontier S3 to the Watch 5 Pro last year. The black rim scratches easily whereas my Frontier S3 looked like new after years of tough use. The sleep function is useless. On most nights there are huge chunks of time it does not record sleep - either at the start, in the middle of the night, or less frequently close to morning. I think I would know if I was awake for 4 hours while in bed! Ironically, my Samsung phone (S21) shows a more accurate number of hours slept, but without the detail the watch is supposed to provide. The Watch 5 Pro also does not accurately record my activity. For example, on a recent 100km cycle ride I received only 13k steps. The last straw was two days ago when I started the cycling tracker, the timer started but no distance appeared. I tried starting it 3 times and then had to reboot the watch to get it to work. I’m not sure why I continue to wear the watch! I guess it does notify me of texts and I can talk on it if my phone is not nearby. But the watch is a disappointment. If anyone has a watch that does better, I'd love to hear about it.
Completely agree. I went from watch 4 classic to 5 pro and was worried I'd miss the bezel, but having it be a touch bezel makes this watch so much more useful during exercise, while putting on a shirt, going through a bag, you name it. Absolutely no accidental inputs whereas I had gotten used to that with the 4. Plus I put on a sorta rubber, gshock inspired cover and thanks to the digital bezel, the whole watch body is covered, meaning I won't have to worry about whacking my car or laptop, maybe even a wall etc. with a metal watch and scratching whatever I hit. So glad I upgraded
@@gabegrinff well now that u have upgraded I can't say much yes it was an upgrade and I feel happy for you u was able to upgrade but normally I'd say it's a waste of money yes battery life and few other things are an increase but I wouldn't honestly recommend upgrading every year and would say atleast every 2-3 gen if not 4 as these days devices are so powerful its not like using a 2011 phone on 2014 anymore.
i have 1 question? how does the watch en your phone react when you also use a carkit? is the watch going to disconnect with your phone or can it duoconnect?
Yeah the battery upgrade is good, but oh my, that whole screen to body ratio looks super thick, i get the fact that it's raised for protection, but that touch bezel isn't super useful, they might have removed it altogether and made the display larger and watch will look much better.
Thank you for finally talk about this watch from a women's perspective, I've been looking everywhere. I've ordered the watch without knowing if it's goi g to be too bulky with clothes etc
If you ordered the grey one it is actually looks quite decent for a woman. I have a very small wrist..but I have exchanged my samsung 4 40mm with the5 pro and think...even its large its actually very cool looking(I am over 40 btw)and when you add a metal bracelet in addition to the watch...it looks good. I think the very large size watch is a bold fashion statement. So I am keeping it (but I ordered it with the beige sport bracelets instead not the clipped new bulkier band like in this video)
Seems like a lot of what are missing for serious health enthusiasts are SOFTWARE upgrades - so - QUESTION: what's your experience suggests the software apps availability for Samsung vs Fitbit?
I had the galaxy watch 4 classic and the main reason I would never use it is that the always on display would not work because of having tattoos on my wrist, is the 5 pro any better in that situation?
Awesome review! Thank you! I wish reviewers would touch on maximum power saving battery life. There are probably quite a few of us who don't need to be using all of the features all of the time. We keep it in the absolute minimum state to tell time and receive basic notifications, then turn on GPS, etc when needed. If I get this watch, I'll make a short video about getting maximum battery life. My "ancient" Gear S2 will still go 2-3+ days in power saving mode. I'd imagine the massive battery in the 5 Pro could easily go 4, 5, ...maybe more.
Disappointed in the design changes they’re making. I miss the frontier design language. They had something going with that. Now it’s just kind of… meh. Definitely don’t like that they got rid of the rotating bezel.
can you use an LTE version of these things to replace an actual cell phone? i could really use a watch/phone at the work site where i don't have to bring a bulkier cell phone along. it would be nicer if it had the rotating bezel that would make it easier to use while wearing a glove. don't care about fitness apps.all i want is phone, text, email. hands free operation with voice commands/voice to text would be ideal.
Yes you can. That's exactly why I bought the LTE version. If you're a complete minimalist you can get away with using the watch for texting and calls. Some features like Spotify still require a smart phone unfortunately.
"The one catch is you will need to use a 25 watt charger to achieve these fast charging rates, which is not included included in the box because... of course not!" 😂 Made me laugh, it's the new trend now to make people go buy the chargers for everything now lol
It's funny how reviews talk about the large size being a turn off for some people.... in other hand for me i really hate and despise small watches... :P
Hi there! Thank you for your review. I am considering buying this watch, but I do have a question. I have a Google pixel 7 Pro with Google fi service. Would I still be able to get the lte functionality? Thank you so much!!
10:40 That's kind of insane for a watch made by the same company who's flagship pro model phone charges in the same amount of time. The watch then be able to charge fully in like 30 minutes or less?
I sold my GW4 Cellular because it kept overheating when trying to maintain a data signal. I've ordered the GW5 Pro and I am keeping my fingers crossed it will be a lot better. Do you find the connectivity much better? Nice review thanks.
it is extremely difficult to rotate the virtual bezel with the wet finger (in swimming poll). mechanical in such cases is much more convenient. have watch 3 and watch5 pro
Of course 5 has better (bigger) battery, more options (necessary or not so), but version 3 has a bezel which is as i mentioned before is very convenient in the water. I can not say which one i like more but i ware now pro5
Just bought my Galaxy Watch 5 Pro yesterday. What should I say? I'm super satisfied and at the same time super disappointed. I do love the design, display, form factor, band! Top! BUT I do not have Samsung Phone (Google Pixel 6a) and nobody shared that the WORKING PROFILE DOES NOT WORK WITH NON SAMSUNG PHONES! Bummer!!! :(((((( One of the reasons I bought this watch was to be connected during my work-time, which is 8-10 hours per day. I really need several app's notification to pop up on my wrist while I'm without my phone (such as Google Calendar, Slack, Gmail etc). Unfortunately this is not possible with SGW5 + non Samsung. I was googling a lot and haven't found any adequate solution to this "issue" (probably it's not an issue, but more like Samsung eco feature). So ... now I have 14 days to decide whether I'd return them back to store or get used to the watch without the work ... what a sad story ... @CNET, please consider adding this to your review, 'cause you have NOT mentioned it as well ...
It needs to have continuous glucose monitoring, and I'll pay double for it; otherwise, I don't see a need for it. I have a watch on my Galaxy z Fold 3. My special deal z Fold 4, Buds2 Pro, & Watch 5 Pro arrive on Monday. I'll probably just resell the Watch 5 Pro (unopened) on eBay.
I bet you that's where this tech is headed! Can you imagine all the revenue flowing in for smartwatches capable of monitoring glucose? There's been a lot of scientific research in this field. It's just a matter of when it'll be engineered into a smartwatch.
I bought a galaxy 5 pro watch last week. Now the phone bell rings only on the watch and not on the phone How can I adjust it to ring on both phone and watch. Please guide.
Why have we gone backwards? You have been able to pair chest straps with Android Wear for YEARS. I just don't understand what these companies are thinking sometimes. I'm glad the HR monitor on the watch is fairly accurate, but I always used a chest strap during my weight lifting sessions because the watch would frequently lose contact with my wrist during the movements.
I thought chest strap HR monitors are specifically for runners as they are more accurate than wrist watches. I understand why this is important for running especially competitively, but not sure for weightlifting.
@@Gravage If that's the reason, HR doesn't have to be that accurate in weightlifting bc you're still burning calories several hours post workout. In running, it matters a whole lot more for reasons other than just estimating calories burned.
I am having problems with ECG trying to download Samsung Health even though it's installed on my pixel phone . I talked to Samsung and they told me the ECG only works with Samsung phones. Has anyone gotten the ECG to work with non Samsung Android phones
Thanks for the review - that's great information. I've been trying to decide if I want to upgrade from my original Galaxy Watch but I can't quite get past that concave ring around the Pro - I think it looks terrible. The strap is terribly cheap. And the non-pro watch looks like a plastic toy. I think I have to keep waiting to see what the next generation might bring. This video helps a lot in making a decision!
it's a shame they omitted the rotating bezel... I was considering this watch because I wanted an upgrade from my gear S3 frontier. the sapphire glass and titanium would be nice for welding. I banged about my old watch quite a bit and it did not break and my daily use dumb watch also has sapphire glass.
The Samsung Galaxy watch 5 LTE does not support standalone Google maps. I took my bike for a ride without my phone and when I tried to connect to Google maps it asked me to connect to my phone. Defeats the purpose of an LTE. I returned it and I'm glad I did
@@IronDiamondMan what is the purpose of paying for an LTE line? If I'm going for a hike or a bike ride why would I take two devices? I was hoping this watch eliminate the need for me to take my phone but I guess not. Anyway, my wife and I took the watches back and I guess we'll wait until that technology is there for smart watches
Didn't go for Watch 4 as was holding out on Watch 5 series due to larger battery size rumours, but due to the other specs being the same and no smaller size for the 5 Pro/lack of a nice looking, small watch size offering, that can still provide a long battery life whilst using GPS for most of a day for hiking; I'm skipping this generation and waiting to see what the Watch 6 series offers.
I purchased this watches just 2 days ago. And will return it soon, for me these smartwatches are way too smart, or better to say dumb. Can't figure out that I am doing jumping rope, somehow calculated my first sleep night as just 1h 30m, when my old bracelet said 8-9 hours which is correct. Body composition calculation worked just once, from almost 20 tries. The only thing they are good at is battery draining.
Upgraded to the 4 classic about 7 months ago, returned it because of the poor battery and went back to my galaxy watch (2019). I was waiting for the 5 pro, had it for two days and returned it today and ended up going back to the 4 classic. EXACT same internals and software, i couldn't stand the pathetic design and completely impractical haptic bezel, cringed everytime i looked down at my wrist. The 4 classic is definitely worth saving $300 plus having the awesome rotating bezel, i lose a day on battery life, big whoop, rather have the bezel and a better looking watch, 5 pro is possibly the biggest rip off samsung has ever done. Watch 5 pro $800 (Australian) Watch 4 classic $500. Also, the 4 classic has a bigger and battery life over the 5 range (excluding the pro), if you change from.a 4 classic to a 5 it's a huge downgrade not an upgrade. The 4 and 5 range (excluding classic and pro) are literally identical in every single aspect other than band colours.
Bought the Galaxy Watch 4 44mm since launch for its ECG feature. Till this day, the ECG feature isn't yet made available in my region... why even advertise something you don't intend to follow up after launch and make available in at least most regions? That and the region locking for Samsung Pay made me abandon Samsung entirely for 2023
I don't consider it a serious fitness tracker. It does not accurately read heart rates and absolutely cannot read accurate GPS data while running I think that is the gold standard for calling yourself 'stand alone GPS'. Pace control is better and it's adware. The Compass? Is it accurate? LOL..... When the GPS gets screwed up it, screws the music up when the coach is talking. Sometimes the pacing just goes into repeat. One lap right after the other. "5 seconds. Zero miles. Heart rate 148." I dunno bout you guys when mine screws up it takes the heart rate with it. It is for these reasons, I think that Samsung should be required to list their watches with the word "Entertainment" as a prefix. I think it has everything to do with GPS and the processing involved. If it's a sunny day the watch behaves totally different. I was told to pair it to a better phone. Which brings up another stupid thing; Why can't I have it bound to my phone AND my tablet? Nope. Just ONE phone. The magnetic clasp? Hah! Picks up every piece of metal flakes around and is next to impossible to clean. One thing about it that seriously irks me; When you use Samsung pay it wants you to use a lock service. I chose a pattern. I bought a WATCH, and I have to unlock it or push the power button to give me the TIME!!! And the NFC Samsung 'pay' doesn't work half the time. The watch does some really decent stuff. Bixby does listen pretty good. Offline Spotify is great but I've had problems with that, also. Taking a call on a watch sounds silly but it really works well. The built in LTE so $500? Eh.... Yeah. Good thing I traded in my Classic 4. I liked the 'Classics' bezel for about a month then quit using it especially when I would turn it and it would go through all the functions in the blink of an eye. It got dirt in it so not all of the detents work right. I'm not the only one with these complaints.
@@JamesThomas-dn6ee in US, on Europe is quicker, nevertheless they do this often with a lot of software, for example after more then 5/6 years samsung pay it still not arrive to Portugal in Europe 😕
@@JamesThomas-dn6ee they release their watch before apple watch 8 and guess what, apple release the watch with all sensors working on release day. It's a temperature sensor I believe is not hard to fda to aprove
This watch and for 4 classic are very good, I'm hoping the next watch they make would be more bigger like 48 or 49 mm and add more features to it but overall pretty good performance
Some reviewers are hating the band and saying to replace it as soon as you remove it from the box. And for $500 a wall charger should be in the box. Sadly these companies are saving thousands not including a charger in anything these days and not passing that on. You are one of the only reviewer I have seen wearing the watch while showing you using your finger to move around the new dial. I have just tried running my finger around the dial like I would have to if I had this new watch and I would not be able to see the screen very well. It is time to look at Garmin or others to replace my samsung watch, I'm just going to miss the LTE so I might look to Apple
This isn't a watch made for everyone. Like the Apple watch pro it's for people that do extreme sports, working out and hiking. Most people would want the watch 5 40m or 44m
Make sure to check out my text review for more on sleep tracking, blood oxygen sensor and reverse wireless charging to name a few!

oxygen level was super inaccurate on 4 and bp had to be recalibrated all the time. Is it better on 5 ?
i have 1 question? how does the watch en your phone react when you also use a carkit? is the watch going to disconnect with your phone or can it duoconnect?
That's freaking amazing😁😁😁
I'm so glad to win a price. thank you much
Can't make my mind up whether to get the 5 Pro or the Watch 6 44mm.
Yeah the battery upgrade is good, but oh my, that whole screen to body ratio looks super thick, i get the fact that it's raised for protection, but that touch bezel isn't super useful, they might have removed it altogether and made the display larger and watch will look much better.
It isn't designed for that, it is elevated specifically to protect the watch.
There's watch 5 for your if screen to display ratio is what you're going for
I bought a Casio, the battery life is 10 years.
so you bought a watch with a battery life as old as you

This was exactly my problem too
Is this watch bigger that the galaxy watch frontier? The frontier is the one I have at the moment and I want to get a newer version. Cheers
Yea a bit
Awesome review! Thank you!
I wish reviewers would touch on maximum power saving battery life. There are probably quite a few of us who don't need to be using all of the features all of the time. We keep it in the absolute minimum state to tell time and receive basic notifications, then turn on GPS, etc when needed.
If I get this watch, I'll make a short video about getting maximum battery life. My "ancient" Gear S2 will still go 2-3+ days in power saving mode. I'd imagine the massive battery in the 5 Pro could easily go 4, 5, ...maybe more.
Actually, the Gear S2 also had a rotating bezel, so before the galaxy watch.
I have the Frontier
Disappointed in the design changes they’re making. I miss the frontier design language. They had something going with that. Now it’s just kind of… meh. Definitely don’t like that they got rid of the rotating bezel.
can you use an LTE version of these things to replace an actual cell phone? i could really use a watch/phone at the work site where i don't have to bring a bulkier cell phone along. it would be nicer if it had the rotating bezel that would make it easier to use while wearing a glove.
don't care about fitness apps.all i want is phone, text, email. hands free operation with voice commands/voice to text would be ideal.
Yeah you can
Yes you can.
Wack
It's funny how reviews talk about the large size being a turn off for some people.... in other hand for me i really hate and despise small watches... :P
3:48 The issue I have with this watch is just how thick it is!
Great video, does the map feature working on the health app? Not showing anymore for my watch 4 . Like for biking, walking, hiking?
Hi there! Thank you for your review. I am considering buying this watch, but I do have a question. I have a Google pixel 7 Pro with Google fi service. Would I still be able to get the lte functionality? Thank you so much!!
Great review Lexy! Cheers
CNET reviews are the best 👍 even my dad recommends this channel, yeah!
LTE model, please review it. Whats the use of a bluetooth model when you still have to lug around your phone??
Who doesn't carry around their phone anyways?
10:40 That's kind of insane for a watch made by the same company who's flagship pro model phone charges in the same amount of time. The watch then be able to charge fully in like 30 minutes or less?
Sapphire display is more reflective using outdoor in 5 pro …. Software wont help ….
Got mine coming tomorrow looks good
Just ordered one
Hows it's doing?
Waiting on my watch 5 pro cellular to arrive today. Excited to get it setup. Going to put it to the test in the golf course as soon as it arrives.
It's here and meets every expectation so far. I'll post an update after I take it to the golf course.
@@QBtheGREAT I'm curious how accurate the yardage is....
@@mister_dave1184 I've played 2 rounds with 2 different apps. GolfPad and 18 Birdies both give pretty accurate readings. I'm satisfied.

I sold my GW4 Cellular because it kept overheating when trying to maintain a data signal. I've ordered the GW5 Pro and I am keeping my fingers crossed it will be a lot better. Do you find the connectivity much better? Nice review thanks.
Only got the BT/GPS version so I can’t say on the cellular connectivity. But overall no issues when in range of my phone
If you can tells us more when you get it and use it. How the signal is impacting the battery and if it was worth it.
@@tarekekram8441 sure will do!
Temperature sensor activation could take years like the blood press feature.
it is extremely difficult to rotate the virtual bezel with the wet finger (in swimming poll). mechanical in such cases is much more convenient. have watch 3 and watch5 pro
Which one do you like more?
Of course 5 has better (bigger) battery, more options (necessary or not so), but version 3 has a bezel which is as i mentioned before is very convenient in the water. I can not say which one i like more but i ware now pro5
@@vassarian I pike the look of the 3 and having the actual bezel on it. That's what made it stand out from the other watches.
How does it compare to the Mont Blanc, or Tag Heuer for workouts? (Ignore the price difference)
Wait, a $450 "pro" smart watch that doesn't allow you to pair an external heart rate monitor?
I liked the video the moment you tag the link in the right area of the video you pointed to 😂 now to watch the rest
On the cycling or hiking mode does it track elevation changes?
Yes
Great review ! Thanks !
Sounds really good, I've placed an order for my galaxy 5 Pro, can't wait 😊
How do you like it?
Now if they can make the straps similar to Apple Iwatch?
I bought a galaxy 5 pro watch last week. Now the phone bell rings only on the watch and not on the phone
How can I adjust it to ring on both phone and watch.
@@PureAwesomeMess wrist HR monitors are less reliable when you lift weights because of the he wrist movements, like I said.
@@Gravage Yeah I get that. What I mean is why is it so important to track your HR so accurately in weightlifting?
@@PureAwesomeMess calories? Stats?
@@Gravage
If that's the reason, HR doesn't have to be that accurate in weightlifting bc you're still burning calories several hours post workout.
What did you find out?
Hi Lexxy..which Samsung watch would you recommend as a replacement for a medical alert. If i need to call 911 or wifey...thanks
Is the Watch 5 pro bottom plastic?
Get the 4classic that's an upgrade
Watch 6 classic?
dose turn-by-turn work with maps
Garmin would be much better minus the ecg and blood pressure features but garmin hands down better
The Samsung Galaxy watch 5 LTE does not support standalone Google maps. I took my bike for a ride without my phone and when I tried to connect to Google maps it asked me to connect to my phone. Defeats the purpose of an LTE. I returned it and I'm glad I did
Uuuh, it's supposed to be connected to your phone 99% of the time. How do you not understand that?
@@IronDiamondMan what is the purpose of paying for an LTE line? If I'm going for a hike or a bike ride why would I take two devices? I was hoping this watch eliminate the need for me to take my phone but I guess not. Anyway, my wife and I took the watches back and I guess we'll wait until that technology is there for smart watches
How long would pro last with LTE
Can we connect galaxy watch 5 pro with iPhone??
Are you sure about the 25W charger thing? I'm positive it only supports 10W charging.
Yep, here it is.:
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro both support 10W fast wireless charging, thanks to the included USB-C Galaxy Watch Charger
My original galaxy watch has better battery life than the 4 although it charges slower.
You could always get the five and likely traded in next year for the six with a really good offer from samsung. Just a suggestion.
You have a Portie?
I purchased this watches just 2 days ago. And will return it soon, for me these smartwatches are way too smart, or better to say dumb. Can't figure out that I am doing jumping rope, somehow calculated my first sleep night as just 1h 30m, when my old bracelet said 8-9 hours which is correct. Body composition calculation worked just once, from almost 20 tries. The only thing they are good at is battery draining.
Anyone know if this watch works with Garmin heart rate chest straps?
Would like to know battery drain/longevity while streaming/playing music in various modes.
Watch 5 pro $800 (Australian)
Watch 4 classic $500.
Would appreciate your battery life info on the Watch 4 Classic.
Awesome video, thank you so much!
How dose it work with apple
Bought the Galaxy Watch 4 44mm since launch for its ECG feature. Till this day, the ECG feature isn't yet made available in my region... why even advertise something you don't intend to follow up after launch and make available in at least most regions? That and the region locking for Samsung Pay made me abandon Samsung entirely for 2023
I would like to know the name of the Phone featured in this video.
Exactly, I missed rotating bezel.too
This model have blood pressure?
If this was offered in gold, I'd buy it right now
For 1M dollars. 😁
It will also be real attractive to thieves.

This does have the Recovery metrics feature you are saying missing. Maybe an update after but I do have it on mine. Thnx
Great review Lexy, hope you are coming home down under for an Aussie Xmas ?
Super informative. Gotta love CNET!
I’m not sure how accurate these sensors are. Those that test it against the Apple Watch have said it’s still not accurate.
Use the mechanical wheel on my GW1 all the time, barely touch the screen.
Looks like I'll be sticking with my one for... the rest of time?
Thanks. This is very helpful and informative.
The physical bezel used to give Galaxy Watch a unique look, which was one of the reasons to buy them instead of Apple watch.
And the apple watch looks like it's from toys r us.
friends dont let friends buy apple junk.
Wow look at the size on those watches..
Mighty fine
I can't see why they can't add blood pressure in American markets?
Typically from Samsung releases a watch with sensores that don't work out of the box, we need to wait,6 months or more for the skin temperature sensor
Got to get fda approval not their fault

This watch and for 4 classic are very good, I'm hoping the next watch they make would be more bigger like 48 or 49 mm and add more features to it but overall pretty good performance
Is the watch body thinner than last year's ???
No it is not it is thicker
Samsung health is available on the playstore, I have it installed on a Xiaomi and connected to my galaxy watch
Very informative and non bias. Very honest view
So they are sport watches now. For athletes and people that are addicted to working out every second of the day. Ok got it
Funny thing is that this watch is small compared to its supposed competitors.
My watch 4 46mm classic looks way better. Nice
This isn't a watch made for everyone. Like the Apple watch pro it's for people that do extreme sports, working out and hiking. Most people would want the watch 5 40m or 44m
