    Hey, just wanted to say a big thank you for your work on this video, i watched everything and it was a pleasure to follow. You are a wonderful teacher, it was very easy to follow and also very fun, you really one of the best stationeers content creator. I really liked this long format, if one day you can manage to film a part 3 it will be wonderful. In the meantime, i gonna watch part 2 and milk your others videos, thanks again for your time, keep doing you boss

      Thanks for this. :-) I hadn't had any plans to add more to this series (Not saying that I deemed it complete.), but I've added this to my videos-I-should-make-at-some-point list. I guess I'd put up the Deep Miner and do some Logic Sorter programming and such. Can't predict when this will happen, but it's on my list, dear Stationeers connoisseur!

    From someone that refunded this game once. This video gave me the confidence to try again. My only issue is I can’t program for anything and I followed to the tee. My solar panels are facing exactly 180 the wrong way thus avoid the sun instead of getting the most out of it

    • @OwnerOfTheCosmos
      @OwnerOfTheCosmos  4 месяца назад +1

      First thing to consider: While the Vertical value is key, the Horizontal also has to be set, else they could only ever be right 50% of the day. Since you probably did that, next question is whether the motion of your solar panel has the right direction. If it's moving with the sun, except way off angle-wise, then that's good. Else you'd have to flip a sign (as in minus) somewhere. Now for not having the right angle: Let's say we do "add r0 r0 90", which adds 90° to register "r0" if that's where you have your Daylight Sensor's Vertical angle that you now wanna write to the Vertical of the Solar Panel. This may be the way to get your panels into alignment. 90, 180, 270. If that doesn't work for some reason, try "sub r0 90 r0" (or 180 or 270 or even 0) which inverts the direction in which the panel will move aside from also adjusting its angle. On the Moon, you should now be where you wanted to go. On other celestial bodies, the Horizontal can be even way more important because it won't just flip by 180° in the middle of the day but will be relevant all the time. And in that situation, it could be that your Horizontal has to be inverted (i.e. you subtract it from 0 90 180 270) because whatever you half-successfully tried with your Vertical would have taken place in the wrong cosmos this whole time.

    Thank you very much for the detailed explanations and the video. It helped me a lot to get into the game and understand the mechanics. A position overview with the main goals would be nice, so it's possible to jump for example to "advanced airlook". Cannot watch the whole video at a time ;). Also I have some questions, why you using a second vent for advanced airlock?

    • @OwnerOfTheCosmos
      @OwnerOfTheCosmos  8 месяцев назад

      You're right, I've gotten lazy when it comes to RUclips chaptering - it always takes sooo much time to do! Particularly for a long vid like this one. ---- I've recently made a 35 minute turbo video which ends with potato plant, drinking bottle filler, cooling system, steel, station battery. So, if you'd like to swap depth for speed: ruclips.net/video/WUXgYpFD5fI/видео.html
      The Advanced Airlock has 1 main purpose: To separate two atmospheres instead of one. So you need two vents. It can't be used without two, even if the immediate situation (Moon) doesn't seem to warrant it (Even though it does: Pollutant etc. could be in the airlock from the outside, don't want that in the station.) - and even if the only goal is to benefit from the repressurization configurability.

      @OwnerOfTheCosmos I was wondering if you would ever make a video of a check list or a list of priorities you should build/progress towards? My friend and I used your videos to sorta survive the harsh beginnings since there was no tutorial (he blew up the furnace and base 3 times), and now we're working on getting hydroponics and cooling down our starting shelter on the moon (turns out me making the entire room out of windows gets hot).
      We just aren't sure of where to go from there since your videos are mainly the beginning portions of the game unless there was one we missed somewhere, but we're planning on trying to do everything on the moon first before going to different planets, problem is we don't know what 'doing everything' is.
      Could you recommend like an early game, mid game, and late game progression list or guide?

      @@suploly6317 I'm sorry, I don't have that, I'm myself still trying to "level up" in the game - one of the more immediate planned measures is to finally do a run on CREATIVE so that I can focus on making a beautiful station without being side-tracked by a million things and overhead all the time. Therefore, I just asked Microsoft Copilot (edited):
      """""""""""""""""""""""
      Early Game:
      - Survival Basics: Set up your base, power generation, oxygen supply.
      - Resource Gathering: Collect ores, gases, and other materials.
      - Basic Machines: Build fabricators and the Furnace.
      - Food and Water: Set up hydroponics for food and water production.
      Mid Game:
      - Atmospherics: Set up gas filtration and cooling systems.
      - Automation: Create automated systems for resource processing.
      - Advanced Machines: Build more complex machines like the Electrolyzer and Centrifuge.
      - Energy Efficiency: Optimize power usage and storage.
      Late Game:
      - Space Exploration: Build rockets for space ice/ore gathering.
      - Base Expansion: Expand your base and create specialized areas (labs, workshops, etc.).
      - Automation Mastery: Create intricate automation networks (e.g. resource gathering and processing and automatic refilling of manufactories, automatic production to restock supplies).
      - Challenges: Take on more difficult scenarios or self-imposed challenges.
      Remember, Stationeers is all about experimentation and problem-solving. Adapt your strategies based on your specific situation and playstyle.

    • @OwnerOfTheCosmos
      @OwnerOfTheCosmos  2 месяца назад +1

      No idea. I play Beta, but that shouldn't play a role. Moon is easier, so if that's where you're playing, it would be weird to not find nickel. - You can search as far as you want, assuming you have 1) a way back (The portable beacon lives about an hour even with a small battery. Or you can use the compass, but that's very risky.) and 2) battery/oxygen/filter reserves (bring some extra) and have eaten/drunk recently.

      I have the alpha version from Steam, I did not know that there is a beta version of the game, by the way, I noticed that in your passage at the start you were given things for trade that are not given in the alpha version, this is actually the problem, there are no key resources for improving machines

    • @OwnerOfTheCosmos
      @OwnerOfTheCosmos  2 месяца назад

      @@dimaworld2448 2:30 shows a screenshot of how to change from the normal version of the game to the so-called "Beta" - but both are Beta stage. The one you can select there, though, is a "nightly build" (indeed it's automatically made, e.g. half an hour ago, if the devs don't actually trigger a build manually). The game is far from v1.0 (first ReleaseCandidate, then GeneralAvailability), so it's still Beta. It's not Alpha because that would mean it's a broken mess only meant to lump the to-be features together to a meaningful whole that no end user should actually be running. The RC/GA stages of the game are kinda different than in normal software development, because this is an Early Acccess game: Every once in a while, one of the many developer builds is published to the main channel - that's GA, so to speak. The entry from the "Beta" dropdown list is practically an RC.
      I don't know what you mean with "in your passage at the start" and "things for trade", or there being "no key resources for improving machines".

    • @OwnerOfTheCosmos

      Sadly, no. It's not yet officially supported (There's supposedly a hidden time slider in the world menu, so something along those lines is planned ... I HOPE ...), so you have to set the value again every time you reload. Pressing ESC as early as possible works reliably.

    I was really enjoying watching this, and, pretty much understanding everything in this video until you got to programming the script for the cooling system, and unfortunately, that just went right over the top of my head. I just don't know how the average person is supposed to understand all this stuff. It is way beyond me personally, and it has kind of put me off buying Stationeers. Please tell me that there is an easier way to do this kind of thing. For example, is there anywhere that you can download scripts that can be copy/pasted.

    • @OwnerOfTheCosmos
      @OwnerOfTheCosmos  8 месяцев назад

      Probably! I've heard of a lot of source code downloading from steamcommunity.com/app/544550/workshop/ but I never looked, so I can't tell. See, the cooling solution I made there is not *the one way* to do things! You could just plop down a Portable AC, which operates between -10 and 50°C. Or a real AC. And/or your logic controlling can happen via chips, it's pretty easy (but consumes time/space - it's basically a puzzle subgame): ruclips.net/video/-Ybk5BCeBcc/видео.html

      Yep, you can. Detailed demonstration: ruclips.net/video/5uyCOyq30jc/видео.html ---- And what's more, you can just toss down water-ice in the room and get it into your liquid pipes directly by adding a Passive Liquid Inlet (part of the famous kit Drain) - and if there's dirt in those pipes, you can remove it via the Portable Scrubber standing around somewhere in the room, because the pipe's gas atmosphere is now directly connected to the room.
