Damn you got 35 hrs into taking the decals off? I took a disk sander and some 80 grit and knocked all the graphics off the side in 45 minutes. Took a lot of the paint off also but I’m repainting the whole camper anyway. Nice work though 👍

Great job! Need to redo my 2000 QD as you described. Notice no holes in the rim of paint can, putting 3 nail holes in the can will keep more of your paint in the can and not be as messy!

Thanks for an awesome video with step by step instructions. After leaving my RV at friend's farm for 6+ years I'm currently repairing water damage to front cab and an interior remodel. I'll use your video as a tutorial when I paint next spring '21. Your finished product is inspiring

I am preparing to sand and paint the walls of my 2001 HD. What you have done is what I am planning to do so your video came in at the opportune time. I noted that you re taped 3 times. (for sanding, priming and painting. Wouldn't one taping suffice for the whole job?? There's an obvious explanation but I don't see it right now. Did you use the Volkswagen (cab) paint for the walls? So the process is primer, base coat, gel coat. How long should you leave the paint before detailing? Did you do anything with the valance (around bottom of walls and front and rear)? I understand the OEM paint is a Dupont product but one can use whatever. Did you do anything with the valance?

We painted the exterior in stages. And you remove the tape after each step. If you are painting all coats in one day, you could get away with a single taping. But you cannot leave the tape on for an extended amount of time. We did not do anything with the valances. We tried to match the paint to the cab yes - by using the factory color. Good luck, let us know if you have more questions, and thanks for watching the video!

What paint and primer did you use? This looks great. I see a lot of people painting with exterior house paint. This looks like it just rolled out of the factory!

Thanks! We just went to a local auto paint and body shop and got their recommendations. Super easy. Never hurts to ask the true experts.
