The large bore size of .69 caliber (17.5mm) means that you would want to use a larger granulation of black powder. I use 90 grains of Goex FFG in my Pedersoli AN IX. The recoil is very stout.

Have you tried using more powder? I use 90 Grains of Goex FFG in mine with a 0.662 ball. I have a few videos

How are you hitting the target with no sights and a smooth bore?
35 grs of swiss n.3? I thought n. 3 is for large rifles only, while n.2 for pistols

Does all of the powder get burned up in such a short barrel? I usually load mine with 35 grains also. 90 seems like a lot in a pistol
