Well as my Dad says there are no flies on you! Good lesson today on those slabs and moving quantity at wholesale. Safe travels and enjoy the time with your son Nathan.
Up here in Canada in cooler weather bugs will gravitate towards anything that will retain heat. Like metal. Thank you for your content. I enjoy it in my old age.
Nathan , loved the effect you created when you had the camera right next to the blade that fooled the brain into thinking it’s the log that’s moving not the blade , like the set up Mark Galici has . Super creative and well worth your time n effort and I certainly appreciate it ✊ 👍🏴
Safe travels. Glad the mill is back up and running. Thanks for the details in slabs. Flies like freshly waxed vehicles so perhaps you just waxed the truck recently or parked it under a tree that’s shedding pollen.
Always cracks me up when you “break the 4th wall”, stare right at the camera and smile…then go back to your resting face and continue your task. My brother did end up moving out your way…outskirts of Johnson City, and my nephew somewhere close to Gray.
Everything you said makes perfect sense. Takes a long time to take a tree to drying to kiln drawing and then finding someone who wants one slab. When you have eight, let them buy them straight off the tree 😀
Thanks Nathan, i appreciate your explaining what you get up to with your business. It’s nice to know that you’re doing well in your business career. 👍🏼
Hang in there Nathan! Bruno's getting bigger by the day. Many of us are looking forward to the day when Bruno is on the machines and that's sure to make your life a little easier!
Well you are just an artist, because of all the flies you are drawing. 😂😂😂 My grandmother always said the flies will always congregate before a very bad storm., she was from Macon county Tn from the banks of the white oak creek.
Mill floor looks good, I'm a freak about a nasty floor. Before she passed, my wife was on me all the time for tracking in dirt and dust. Introduced me to Mr. Hoover 40 years ago. I love vacuuming.
The warmer spell caused the flys to hatch early, and if it’s chilly, they’re trying to get warm on the black, sun-warmed plastic. Hope you got top dollar for those fine slabs, Nathan! 👍🏻
You answered your own question, it’s going to rain and the flies are all over your truck letting you know that it’s going to rain. Thank you for you videos.
Thanks for another great video, Nathan. I really enjoy all the information that I learn from every video you upload. Well, I had better run and do something today, and until next time, may God bless your days the way He always blesses ours! Donald
First Nathan, you live in some beautiful country. And I love it when you take us for a drive. Second, you still haven't taken the angle grinder to the Sawmill building to let Mr Kato in right up to the mill, mate work smarter, not harder, especially with those big slabs, too hard on the back. I hope you and your son have a wonderful time together. And as to you sharing your business model, you have it bloody switched on. Even you loose a little money a quick turnover is always better more cash in your pocket. Have fun my friend.
Thanks for the informative video. BTW, have you ever thought about adding a brief dancing segment to your videos, like the ones the two attractive young women on the Lumber Capital Log Yard channel have started doing? Those brief interludes have certainly made a devoted viewer out of me.
As a kid we had cluster flies that hibernated between the storm window and the inside window. Yours look like they might be the same. These were not your average houseflies, they were some sort of freaky night crawler parasite. They are attracted to warm places, I expect your truck is the warmest thing within flying distance.
hi there good show , your darn smart so i would guess that you know , in a white pine the round of knots or limbs every 2 feet or so is how much the tree grew each year . and your right that was an ugly log , best to all john
Well Nathan I'm watching it's October 5th last week y'all had a storm and they called it a hurricane. How are y'all after the storm. I'm thinking about starting a give send go to bring a 26' uhaul filled with water formula and diapers. What do you need
If you didn't have to work around the Hatefulist Cat in World al the time....Love the content, sub plots (Burno, chickens, dogs....) and presentation. Thanks for your efforts!
Flies, this time of year like areas that warm up fast, i.e. the vinyl trim on your tailgate and truck bed. They like my deck rail on my back porch. Dark wood, a lot of early morning sun this time of year. Come May though they are not to be seen gathering like that.
@@OutoftheWoods0623The man who made this comment should have googled it first. Pith is a word related to plants but also to lumber it is also the white part of an orange under the skin.
We get flies like that due to the chicken house down the road. They started composting the manure outside in concrete bins and the flies are horrible. The nieghbors all Amish dairy farmers complain about it as well. They all have liquid manure tanks and have minimal fly issues from that. Our problem is mountians of dry manure composting 6 months at a time.
Did any neighbors recently get new or additional livestock? I grew up with horses and neighbors with horses and cows. You can get feed through fly control to help but unless everyone in the area is using it they will just keep coming.
You have a sawmill and there aren’t very many trees around. I live in southern Ohio and there are sawmills everywhere. There are lots of trees as well.
The flies are called cluster flies they like wet soil and i had the same problem with these critters all over my white truck they liked bright surfaces especially in the sunlight. I ended up having to get a exterminator to spray to get rid slow them down
Yeah that first log did look pretty rough specially on the outside of the log. It got a little better after you got in to it a bit. It did have some pretty color though.
Those noisy chickens heard that there were flies on your truck. They would probably eat the flies but, may leave a thank you deposit🤔🤠 keep it safe bro. Blessings in Jesus's Name ☝🙏🙌💪👊
Pine beetles have decimated the forests here in south Mississippi and the saw mills wont take trees that were killed by the beetles. It is sad to see these beautiful trees being cut and left to rot on the ground. Then go buy lumber and see how expensive it is now. Supply and Demand does not apply anymore. Could it be that it has been replaced by monopoly?
Wonder if small saw mill success is regional ❓Certainly a neighboring somewhat dense population for a customer base seems essential ❓ Proximity to forests, especially mixed species w/ a blend of hardwoods❓. Is hard work, a sound business plan, & an appetite for fried baloney enough ❓🍶for positive $$ earning ❓🤔

Nathan, I learn something new every time I watch your show. You're a true role model, and we appreciate you.
Up here in Canada in cooler weather bugs will gravitate towards anything that will retain heat. Like metal. Thank you for your content. I enjoy it in my old age.
And the color black retains heat also really well.

Work in northern ontario at a sawmill doing white pine we grade the blue pine as 4 common I'm doing room in it one day.
Well you are just an artist, because of all the flies you are drawing. 😂😂😂
My grandmother always said the flies will always congregate before a very bad storm., she was from Macon county Tn from the banks of the white oak creek.
I was always told when the flys all went and stayed on the ceiling it was going to come a storm
I like hearing your perspectives on running the business. Good stuff.
Mill floor looks good, I'm a freak about a nasty floor. Before she passed, my wife was on me all the time for tracking in dirt and dust. Introduced me to Mr. Hoover 40 years ago. I love vacuuming.
Blue pine makes beautiful puzzles for kids
Nice information Nathan. Pretty cool stuff.
The black color of the truck bed liner has absorbed heat from the sunlight and the flies are trying to stay warm.
Interesting to hear of your business model. Have a have nice trip with Bruno 😀
The flies are on the nice warm black plastic trim. No flies on the cold white metal.
Really like the new siding on the chicken house 😅
I think the chickens are about ready to go on strike over broken promises
Thanks for sharing Nathan. Stay safe. Fred.
You bet
Looks like those flys are cold so they group on the black.
The warmer spell caused the flys to hatch early, and if it’s chilly, they’re trying to get warm on the black, sun-warmed plastic. Hope you got top dollar for those fine slabs, Nathan! 👍🏻
😄😄😄😄😄
The flies are also polluting your Bradford Pear threes. That most likely why the flowers on those darn tree smell so bad!
the chickens are wanting siding on their chicken house
The flies will be trying to warm up and are attracted to the black plastic which will warm up faster than most other things around.
Have a safe trip . Good imfo on reselling ,Thanks Nathan .

Your dog is a star,,!...Hey from Ontario Canada..✌️🇨🇦
Hey Nathan , good morning . What is your ratio with the cotton gin lube i use that as well , not sure if im using too much or too little
Spring hatch of flies seek warmest spots to cling to. So when the sun reflects off white, or is absorbed by black, the flies will gather there.

I was told by a Woodmizer service technician that they don’t recommend diesel fuel because it’s not good for the band wheel Vbelts.

Hi Nathan
What is the purpose of those fingers that hang down at the very back of the saw,
Look nice and clean at the mill
Flies, this time of year like areas that warm up fast, i.e. the vinyl trim on your tailgate and truck bed. They like my deck rail on my back porch. Dark wood, a lot of early morning sun this time of year. Come May though they are not to be seen gathering like that.
Always enjoy watching your videos!!!! What cotton lubricant do you use and how much do you add to washer fluid if you don't mind me asking?
Pith is the center of a plant. Usually a green one. NOT a tree.
Wrong
@@OutoftheWoods0623The man who made this comment should have googled it first. Pith is a word related to plants but also to lumber it is also the white part of an orange under the skin.
Nathan, what are those dangly 'finger' things called (11:32) and what is their purpose? Are they guards against flying chunks of wood?
We get flies like that due to the chicken house down the road. They started composting the manure outside in concrete bins and the flies are horrible. The nieghbors all Amish dairy farmers complain about it as well. They all have liquid manure tanks and have minimal fly issues from that. Man I had forgotten how bug those walnut slabs were until I saw them in the skid stear
What kind of tree; if it were solid, perfectly straight and 100% knot free, would you refuse to mill?
You asked a while ago about windshield washing fluid. Dollar tree has it for $1.25 per gallon
Did any neighbors recently get new or additional livestock? I grew up with horses and neighbors with horses and cows. You can get feed through fly control to help but unless everyone in the area is using it they will just keep coming.
Love the video Nathan
big difference between milling for your own use and for a business model and individuals dont understand time costs.
Truck bed liner is black. Flies are there for the heat.
slab them up and sell them off before kiln drying. save you some money and whole lotta hassle. well done
You have a sawmill and there aren’t very many trees around. I live in southern Ohio and there are sawmills everywhere. There are lots of trees as well.
The flies appear to be on the black warmer parts of your truck. My guess is they are there for the heat.
You said flys and the chickens heard you. Lol
Flys love white trucks. One of the mysteries of nature
Seems the flys are looking for a warm spot on the black plastic.
Yall are going out of town ok tell Mr. Kato Lonnie said hello from Southport N.C.
Have a good time Nathan you're a good man I know this by the way you talk about your Animals especially the cats and chickens safe travels !😅😅🥸👍
Hey Nathan
I have a white GMC truck and it was covered up with flies, and I think the flies just likes white for some reason
In my neck of the woods the blue stain reduces the value of the lumber.
The flies are called cluster flies they like wet soil and i had the same problem with these critters all over my white truck they liked bright surfaces especially in the sunlight. I ended up having to get a exterminator to spray to get rid slow them down
How do you get those darn chickens back in the pen? Been wondering how you do that.
Warmth of the plastic causes the flys to gather
Yeah that first log did look pretty rough specially on the outside of the log. It got a little better after you got in to it a bit. It did have some pretty color though.
Weird: I just finished watching Letsdig18 and Chris was also complaining about flies too.
Nathan, the flies are migrating up here, eastern Canada, hang tough they’re coming here👍. Or ,maybe, the chickens have ordered Uber Eats?
That’s and small cant hook compared to the one I have. The handle in it is probably 3 inches in diameter. It belonged to my grandfather.
Do ya think the chickens squawking has anything to do with the flies on the back of your truck ???????
If it's cool out the flies may be hanging out on the warm black plastic on your truck
What thickness do you cut your slabs at?
That plastic heats up in the sun...the flies like the warmth...
Got to pay them bills and care for the family.
Just saw'd a couple thousand bf of blue stained pine for a guy in Sweetwater. I've gotta little LT-15 portable mill.
$60/hr.
Why is a Chevy truck covered in flies? Softball question there… what do flies normally swarm. 😊
Nathan the footage looks great. What camera are you using now?
Great video
Heat
Nice chemtrailing in the opening sequence
Love me some George!
Those noisy chickens heard that there were flies on your truck. They would probably eat the flies but, may leave a thank you deposit🤔🤠 keep it safe bro. Blessings in Jesus's Name ☝🙏🙌💪👊
Flies trying to get warm. They will find black surfaces to heat up.
The flies want the heat from the black plastic on your truck.
I suspect that those black plastic bed protectors are warmer.
Gunna rain. That’s why the flies are sitting around
Well i was sitting here watching your fine sawing video's drinking a cup of OFFEY❣.....As always thanks Nathan 👍
Old Stinking🦨🦨 Shoe🇺🇸
And I have trouble with one fly inside, fly strips all over and one fly trap. They smell food and can't kill him with a fly swatter.
There might be flies on some of you guys, but there ain’t no bugs on me ..
You know what really peeves me? People on their cell phones while driving down the road...."Taking videos of their Dog".😅
Flies, wide open border even the kitchen sink is crossing the border early these days.
George is a pretty dog what kind is he
If those are cluster flies...we got millions.
Is the pith 2x6 of value or is it scrap?
Good value
Thanks
Bruno said that he wants to run the business. Why not start showing him learning the business?
