- Yes thrift with me, Ph.D. Antiques Appraiser Dr. Lori, as I visit the St. Louis Park, Minnesota Goodwill thrift store showing you what the store underpriced and the treasures those #shopping before me simply missed.
See pieces of saw cut American Brilliant Cut glass and Fostoria #glass as I show you how to find your own treasures. Plus, I find a clearly marked Russel Wright tea pot and a set of Nancy Prentiss china. I discover a piece that could fool you into thinking it is Murano glass, but it's American made blown glass. It's still priced too low!

It is all high, Dr. Lori... Everyone can pick up a piece a month. You spend that on pops. Done on pastel. 10.99 a deal Fostrial cubes, always heavy. Russel Wright teapots, muted colors, Biomorphic. 50's Sterling silver edges of dishes. Nancy Prentiss, much calmer thrifting, Dr. Lori..

You are the real treasure Dr Lori. Great to see you out in the field. As an Australian, it's fascinating to see you talk about makers and marks that I've never heard of, but the quality is great and evident. I find lots of English crystal here in Australia by such makers as Stuart, Waterford and Webb & Corbett and it's a great time to buy it here, it usually goes very cheaply in most 'op-shops.' Please do more of these videos.

Yeah, you see this era stuff show up in thrifts stores when an elderly family member passes away and the heirs have to clean out the house. Bittersweet seeing someone's treasures they collected in their lifetime. I bet they had stories for them too.

I really enjoyed this format. I think it was because I could just listen to you explaining details & sharing your wealth of knowledge! I wish my goodwill looked like that. You would think on Long Island NY we would have great shopping. Instead it's a lot of plastic, resin & even $stor crap marked up to 2 or 3 $$$. I often think the good stuff never makes it to the shelves. I do much better at yard and estate sales or church thrift stores. Thank you for educating us all - well those who want to be educated.

Dr Lori! How can you stand to walk away from those beautiful pieces?! I never see anything of those kinds of beautiful glassware at any of my thrift stores. I live in Colorado Springs and I guess they are just all shopped out. Gorgeous glassware. Thank you so much for everything you teach us, Dr. Lori. I think you're just fabulous, and people who don't think that are just the kind of people who hate everything and everybody. Sad, sad, people.
My favorite video - shop along with Dr Lori. There isn't a bride alive who did not receive a cut crystal bowl with a sterling rim as a wedding gift! My mother had one of those. you put a half orange in the bin, pressed it back down and squeezed like heck, then poured the juice out the side. I always managed to put the fruit in the wrong way. MORE WE WANT MORE!

I have the Fostoria two piece...the piece with the hole fits on top of the other and you burn a candle in it. Beautiful lit up.
I was skimming through comments to see if anyone else caught that. I have a couple and they make such pretty designs on the wall when the room is dimmed.

You are the best thing about this vlog. Like seeing you shopping. I’ve picked up several gorgeous vases, obviously expensive and crystal. I was in Macys and they had some behind glass several years ago and I was just staring at them but they were too expensive, not in Goodwill. I hope you’ll do more shopping vlogs in the future.

Hi Dr. Lori. Not all cube pattern is Fostoria. Colony glass made a pattern that is called Whitehall that is so close to Fostoria. Love all the hard work you do.
Homco also did a cube pattern fairy light.

Loving the shopping videos. I have to say around here our goodwills are nothing like that one. That is so organized! And the prices are amazing! Our goodwill wants to charge 3x the amount I saw on those stickers. I’ve been seeing used items marked for more than new from the store prices in the past year. I need to start going farther away from where I live apparently. That’s not to say you still can’t find a good deal here and there but not like I used to. Thanks for the info, as always!
