The best song ever!!!and I don't want anyone from another school to ever be able to understand what this song means to us this is ever Tennessee fans heart and soul song!!! Govols
I am guessing then, you have never listened then, to traditional country music, what now, is considered classic country music! The original version of Rocky Top Tennessee was wrote and sang by the Osbourne Brothers! I knew a little boy who didn’t live far from me and, was from South Texas / Aka / his parents decided to move to Indiana and, he sang it in a fair competition in our small 0:03 town and, he was about around 10 and, he sure sing it like nobody’s business! 0:03
My wife & I came from CA to watch the game vs Georgia last Saturday. It was absolutely electric being there especially with Rocky Top played by the band or the different versions of it played over the sound system.
Garth don’t just cover Rocky Top, he nails it! I’m accepting now firmly that he’s the best country singer ever, better but not as groundbreaking as Hank, but Garth has the perfect voice and demeanor-G.O.A.T.
I think it was terrible but Im not a fan of him anyway... it was too slow and lacked the excitement but not here to argue. Family from East Tennessee and Vols my second school..I can sing that song with the best of y'all...... V. O. L. S. Vols Vols Vols 😏

I was introduced to this classic song as a kid living in Los Angeles in the mid 80s because of the Kenny Rogers film Six Pack……so I always thought it was a slow song! I know now it was a fast count4y song and loved by millions in Southern states!🫡🇺🇸…………….Garth is flawless as usual here ……..but I prefer the kid from Six Pack version better! But what the hell do I know….I’m just a city slicker!……..😎🎸
The original version was wrote and, first sang in the mid 60’s by the Osbourne Brothers, which they have remastered and re- recorded it over the years! If you live in the southern regions it’s always played at most wedding receptions and, adult dances that is family oriented, oh, my gosh what a fun song to dance to, which is what my parents were doing in the 70s and, into the early 80s minus one! 0:03
While it's not anywhere as good as the Osborne Brothers, I'll give them an A for effort. Jimmy plays the meanest fiddle in the land. He's been with Garth for a long time now.
@@carterferris07 I'll admit that I've never heard anyone mess it up. I'm running it through my head right now and it just makes me smile, I love that song, and have for about 5 decades. Love Rocky Top as long as its not football season. Go Dawgs! But Rocky Top is like Sweet Home Alabama. No matter where in the south you are from, you are going to sing along.
No one not from there can understand the joy we feel when we hear Rocky Top, it is a part of our souls.
I'm not from Tennessee but I do feel it. Not as deep as a Tennessee native for sure but it is an awesome song.
We drove down from Northern Kentucky(Cincinnati)for this concert; it was incredible!
When you are from here, grew up here, all you need to hear is the first few notes. It great to be a Tennessee Volunteer
It runs deep in our proud orange blood! 😁
That’s the same as a West Virginia native hearing country roads.
I got goosebumps before they even started playin.... Love from Alcoa, Tennessee!!
Fans at other SEC schools hate hearing that song played in their stadiums but I think that stems from jealousy not having a great song of their own.
I’m a Michigan fan and I wish we had something that hits as hard as Rocky Top…man alive do I love that song
Agree 👍😊... The rest do not have it!
Um, Calling Baton Rouge?
Agreed. I'm a Kentucky fan and our songs are blah
I’m an Auburn fan & I love rocky top
One of my favorite singers singing my favorite song! Doesn't get much better than that! Thanks Garth!

As someone who spends every Saturday in the fall in that stadium, this is surreal

You might enjoy the movie Six Pack with Kenny Rogers.

I love to hear it by the PRIDE OF THE SOUTH LAND BAND, INSIDE NEYLAND, AFTER A TOUCHDOWN.
Rocky Top Tennessee You'll Always Be Home Sweet Home To Me Good Ol Rocky Top Whoooo Rocky Top Tennessee
I can’t wait for him to Preform Friends in Low places in Boone Pickens Stadium. Probably our best tradition.
Its hard to explain the level of JOY that comes from singing Rocky Top in Knoxville.
I agree with you I'm from Kansas. I feel like no matter where you come from. When you sing Rocky Top you get overwhelming joy and happiness from it.

Nope. It's Ric Flair :)
Is this where the bodies are buried, G?

Not mine. Dixieland delight 😊
Please leave it too the Osborne Brothers....
Sorry but an Okie can't do Rocky Top Justice ................
Good job, but I'd love a banjo too
Lol. That's kinda cool. I mean nothing will ever TOP Bobby and Sonny Osborne but I like it.
