- Hey guys! Today I'll be reviewing for you the newest release from Parfums de Marly, Valaya. I've done a full wear test and tried on skin and on clothing, and I'm going to let you know my thoughts on it. This is a long chatty and detailed review.
Also I'll be sharing with you just some general perfume mentality, where am I now and where am I going with my perfume collection & journey?

So happy you are back to feeling passionate about perfume. I have an idea. You can do small haul first impressions and then a few weeks later when you've tested fully, do the same haul again and we can see how your mind changed or stayed the same! I'm way to excited about this but I smell a winning idea here (no pun intended 🤣)
Agree. A haul follow up review would be great.
What I'm doing is instead of hauling soon after receiving, I'm doing the fully testing first - ignoring the urge to share the excitement until I've had them for at least a couple of weeks and worn them a few times. 💗 But I'll still do follow ups in the future and update :)

If you were to ever collaborate with a company to create a fragrance, I think it should be with Parfums de Marly. "Ilythia" would fit right in with their line. :)

Ohhh, a new top 10. I love your unboxing videos but like your follow ups after thoroughly testing. Samples, decants are the way to go vs. blind buy expensive perfumes.

Yesterday I sprayed it on my arm at Nordstrom's and took a shower the next day, and I can STILL detect it on my skin, crazy longevity. I enjoy the scent but nothing mind-blowing like you said.
And yes, huge haul!!

I got Valaya and Oriana samples. Valaya is giving me Light Blue vibes. I do, however enjoy Oriana. For anyone looking for their Man, Greenley and Perceval are really nice!

Personally I now have 3 from the house, and I’ve got them all on sale at a great price (120-160) Safanad is my newest addition but I also have Oriana and Cassili. These three are enough for me and frankly, I love them all so so much. The longevity is pretty good but Safanad blew me away. I have a pretty decent sized collection and I won’t be adding anymore until I finish the bottles I don’t 100% love

They didn’t have it yet when I was there either a couple weeks ago. I wish it had been!! Would have saved me a lot of money :/

I bought it, tried it few days. really loved it when I smelled it. I sprayed normal amount like 6-7 then smell disappeared after a 2 hours. I had gone back to Nordstrom to buy a fragrance for my husband. The lady at the counter said she smelled the perfume on me. Which at that point I could no longer smell it on me. Anyway went back home sparayed another 10 sprays . Again 2-3 hrs later i no longer smelled it. I asked my daughter to smell it if she can detect it she said she doesn’t smell it. So I returned only because 355 is way to much for just a light perfume. I have fleur narcotic that’s very similar and it last on me and I can smell it on me . I’m gona go and ask for sample and try it on hot days.

I was really thinking about splurging on something from Parfums de Marly and then I realized the men's fragrances are almost double the size and the same price. Why are women paying more for less?
Retail has always done this to women. Until women refuse to buy over a certain limit ( as men do) they will continue to price gouge us.
I am so disgusted with price gouging in US. I’m trying to make it to my son’s college graduation, but the outrageous price gouging is preventing me from being able to go. The hotel prices have 6 times the normal rate- like $650 per night! It’s truly disgusting.
@@pwhorselover Yes, but women deeper discounts and a much bigger selection when it comes to clothing and shoes.. especially at upscale department stores like Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus.

I loved this but it gave me gym scent vibes. However, I cannot spend $355 for a gym scent 😬🤣. I sprayed it on my wrist and it lasted all day for sure!
I really enjoy Athalia and Safanad and think the scent-longevity-quality ratio justifies the cost at least a little, but besides Delina Exclusif (which just isn’t my vibe!) I haven’t loved much else from PDM, or at least not enough to find it worth the price :(

If you like it a lot but want an alternative I think you could like Orlov Paris Orlov… $50 on Maxaroma. Not the exact same but it also gets compared to Fleur Narcotique.

Hi! Do you think maybe the atmospheric temperature would have something to do with the sillage? Like it would project more in the hot days but the longevity would be not as good as in the winter?
Yes it wasn’t so much sillage I was annoyed with as it’s just so light and lacking character for what I expect from parfum de marly and for a $400 perfume:/

Meliora is my favorite from parfum de marly . To me it smells like expensive fruity champagne

Watch Erin Nicole, she didn’t fall in love with it either. If I remember correctly she was sent it free from Parfums de Marly and was trying to find a nice way to say she didn’t like it. I give her credit that she told her true feelings about Valaya and that’s all you can ask for from any influencer.
100%. I’m always impressed when influencers are honest about their impressions when gifted.

Just wait 6 months, it might change, that happens a lot, vanilla will age. Yes, it's mostly chemical, but just give it some time anyway

Herod is a tobacco spicy gourmand vanilla. Very unisex but I guess there’s not a boozy vanilla… but idk I’d rather see them take vanilla is a different direction
Yes I should have specified for the women’s fragrances because they do have some vanilla in the men’s. I’d also love to see a nice sweet feminine vanilla!
Wasnt smart really… but I bought Cherry Smoke after 4 wearings (went to the store and tried it 4x, lol) and now I’m selling stuff on Mercari to make up for the $$$$$ 😂

It wasn’t for me, at all. I’ve already sold mine. PDM Herod is a nice cherry/tobacco/vanilla and totally unisex.

I think this perfume is totally overhyped!! I dont understand though when you say its a gorgeous perfume but you dont care for it. That seems contradictory. Seems people are afraid to simply say something doesnt smell good!
