So my perfume collection has been evolving over the last few months and my tastes have changed a lot since last year. I still have some oldies and goodies that I will never let go of - and my currently collection is looking so much like me. However, these are ones that for one reason or other are not working out.

This is why I'm such an advocate for sampling EXTENSIVELY before buying bottles lol. I can't even count how many times I thought I absolutely loved a fragrance, only to revisit the sample a few days/weeks later and find that I definitely don't like it as much as I thought I did. First sniff can be quite misleading sometimes.
This is so true and the same has happened to me. I get so excited about a fragrance at first sniff and I’m immediately ready to buy a full bottle. But I have learned to pump my brakes 😂
100%. And yet, sometimes a perfume is love at first sniff and continues to be a love for many years. It's so funny how the experience can be so different for every perfume :)

I honestly adore your ruthlessness when you declutter. Being so in touch with your sincere thoughts on a scent and not letting the hype surrounding a certain fragrance bias your decision is so refreshing. Bravo for being so selective and only keeping what you absolutely love!
Dang, Girl!!!! Epic declutter! I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a declutter this big! Not in the number of fragrances but in the hype surrounding the fragrances you cut.
Have you considered taking first decants for yourself before letting go bottles that you are on the fence about? Then you could go back to them if you feel like you made a mistake.

I'm also forcing myself to only keep my absolute loves otherwise my perfume collection would be astronomical and I don't want that. It's not a numbers game for me. Love this video!!

You are right about V&R FB nectar, it’s super sweet but I love it so much, have a 50ml bottle and plan on getting the biggest next time.
This WAS a shocking and jaw dropping declutter but so satisfying to watch what you know works and what you've moved away from!
I loved this video. First, when you are a fragrance enthusiast you are around fragrances a lot, maybe switching up 2 or 3 times per day, sampling a lot, and expanding your horizons. Tastes can change pretty fast under those circumstances! And maybe your best point is that we need to love everything about the fragrance from opening to the very end. After listening to you, I realize that there are certain fragrances I am trying to "explain to myself", meaning justifying something about them so as to overcome a negative or blending with something else so that I can force it to work. As you say, just wear the ones you love and don't rationalize or try to teach yourself to like a fragrance more....
100% thank you so much for your understanding. I know not everyone can understand how you can love a perfume and suddenly not - tastes can change and they can change quickly. Also - sometimes a perfume is great but it doesn't mean you're going to keep it. I have to 10/10 love them to keep them.

I totally understand how much taste can change. As someone who does not like vanilla in perfumes (and this seems not to change) my collection is quite different from yours but I always like watching your videos.

I feel the same about LaBelle le parfum and Chloe...I never loved the le parfum and I woke up one day and just didn't like any of the Chloe perfumes anymore.
I saw your video where you mentioned that I think??? Yeah isn’t it crazy you can just wake up and not like it anymore :/
I don’t know how to feel about this. The ones you decluttered are dream fragrances for most. Not only because it is hyped but because it really is a good fragrance. Just make sure you don’t bring any of these back to your collection or else we will be so confused.

I ended up purchasing Delina La Rose and you later de cluttered it… however that does not mean it’s bad, your just evolving your taste and finding the best perfumes for you! We are just hopping on the journey with you to find our gems along the way. Even though you de cluttered it, my love for it never disappeared as I love more subtle perfumes. Without your review I wouldn’t have discovered what I view as the best perfume in my collection
I purchased Delina as well and I hate the punch of rhubarb. I also have other hyped up perfumes that I regret buying.
I almost made popcorn for this because there's some real SHOCKERS in here!! Lol I loved it!

It is a jaw dropping perfume decluttering haul! So many amazing perfume gems here. I understand, you do have to love your fragrances or it just becomes paperweights.
Tbh: Dama Bianca is my fave. I own so many perfumes but I love only 2 of them:

2. Bal D’Afrique
Great declutter. I bought too many perfumes after things opened up last year. I am also having a slight regret with Italica. I have been layering it successfully with other scents, however, I agree with you that a scent should stand alone. I have 50 perfumes, but only four that I truly love.

It’s crazy because I just finished watching Olliesmom’s recent declutter video and she decluttered La Belle Le Parfum and Italica as well. I’m with you though; I prefer Lira over Italica. And I like the original Black Opium as well.
I've been decluttering loads recently too and I think I'm down to about 10 perfumes now! 🙈 xx
Our tastes are so similar. I either decluttered, thought about decluttering, or sampled and decided not to buy most all of these. I will say that Musk Therapy is the only Initio I currently own (I decluttered 4 others from them).
I have a sample of Musk Therapy coming - I can't wait to try it.:)
I really enjoy your declutter videos and agree that you have to be true to yourself! I'm currently exploring some clean brands such as Ellis Brooklyn and Phlur--there is also a new Chloe out called Chloe Naturelle (green ribbon) with organic roses!🌹

I’m in the habit of buying decants instead of bottles. I already have enough fragrances that I love. If I finish the decant, I might consider a bottle.
Good for you for being honest with yourself and us! I don't understand why anyone would be bothered by you decluttering YOUR perfumes, even if someone was influenced to buy a perfume bcus of you their opinion shouldn't change based off if you keep it or not 🤷🏽♀️ anyways... Your declutters are always epic and so fun to watch 😍. I had a sample of Tihota and had very similar experience with it, it was too overwhelming
I'm glad I'm not the only person. At first sniff from my sample I had, I loved it - it was one of the best vanillas I've ever smelled and it still is. I just can't wear that much vanilla I've found out :)
I had to let go of Tihota as well for the excess of warm musk and felt so guilty bc of the hype it has 😭😵💫 (Obvious Perfumes Une Vanille is a way cleaner vanilla perfect for layering and not overwhelming at all if anyone else found the musks in Tihota a bit too much and wanted a vanilla!!)
We seem to have very similar tastes. If you're desperate for a Jo Malone that works, check out Fig and Lotus Flower, Dark Amber and Ginger Lily or Jasmine Sambac and Marigold. I've owned most of the Jo Malone collection in the past and these three are my favourites.

I have sold perfumes that I loved and wore for years. Sometimes it just happens and we fall out of love with a certain dna. Especially when we are crazy about perfumes and test so much buy so much and our tastes evolves.

As I mentioned, they are still amazing fragrances; decluttering doesn’t mean they are not great perfumes. We all have a right to changing tastes and our collections evolve over time. I hesitate to even share declutters because some people like yourself leave comments like this; but my tastes and collection will evolve and I try to be as open and forthright with my audience as possible. It’s no skin off anyone’s back if i let something go, just as I don’t care what others let go 🤷🏻♀️. Thanks for your comment:)
This is why I can't bring myself to blind buy fragrances solely based on youtubers' recommendations. I'll snag a sample for sure if it sounds like it might be up my alley, but never a full bottle. With the rate at which most of these videos are being put out, there generally isn't sufficient time for them to test scents out long enough to know that they really love them.
I’m with you on this. I feel like if you’re always decluttering then you need to just buy decants to see if you will love it enough for a bottle. When I see too many declutters it becomes less authentic if that makes sense.
I love Dama Bianca! Lol. But it is a bit different. I didn’t like it on initial spray, but I kept coming back to it, so I bought it (after finishing the sample I had).
Literally every time I wear Greenwich Village I get a compliment, but I understand not keeping something you don’t reach for.
And lastly…I’ve come to realize that Gucci doesn’t work for me either. I have two Gucci fragrance (one being Guilty) that I never wear.

I am a big fan of declutters and I have been doing them since I was 15-16...almost 20 years, omg 😱
I declutter my fragrances even if I "only" have around 30, I don't want to have bottles around if I don't use what's inside and I don't want to waste perfumes since they can go off with time. I sold a big bottle of Ani from Nishane for example: beautiful scent, but it didn't really speak to me. No regrets so far!

Pika fragrance review is the first channel that said DO NOT BLIND BUY XERJOFF, and now you say it as well, it's so strange that everyone on YT seems to like all of the same Xerjoff perfumes 🤔🤦🏻♀️
Yeah Pika is the only reviewer saying do not blind buy ANYTHING especially Xerjoff. Niche perfumes are so … interesting smelling. Doesn’t mean that is a good thing 😂 Not worth the gamble. And she was the only one she talked about different perfumes from everybody else. It’s the hype I think. If everybody talks about it it must be good/ mainstream right? But I do not think that is the case with niche. Plus a lot of reviewers receive these as PR so 😬
I dont generally like the Bond 9 packaging, which turns me off from reaching to spray it.
I understand Tihota. It smothers me with its simplicity. Almost like I spilled high quality vanilla extract on myself. Even when layering.

Not you decluttering Tihota after I got a decant of it and I think it's actually scheduled to arrive later today. 😂 I thought about testing it out for a while then I saw you mention it in a video. Although our taste in perfume isn't exactly the same, we tend to have the same taste when it comes to vanillas. I guess it's not a terrible thing if I hate it. I won't put a huge dent in my budget from wanting a full bottle lol
Given how picky you are, I'd exercise more scrutiny before making a purchase.
Im sure you have a way of "letting go" of them getting a return on the investment though (selling them) so I suppose you're good.

I got Mimosa and Cardamom based on other reviews one said that it smells like an expensive hotel - like you did - and another (the one that sold me) said that if they had children they would like them to remember them by this scent. So when I got it I loved the scent it reminded me something from my childhood -no association with hotels not sure why people use this phrasing to sell a scent as if I would like to smell like a hotel lobby. I ended up gifting my bottle to my mom as I think is a very motherly and comforting smell. No wonder why since cardamom contains the word mom haha ☺️
