LOL right! I'm out in CO and back in the day it was just a tent, sleeping bag, water, and some food. As kids we didn't have 5% of what they're carrying. Why are they bringing trailers and maxtraxx? LOL!!
@@bamafencer12 I hear what you’re saying about camping stuff, but maxtraxx are a recovery item and have nothing to do with camping. If you get into technical terrain for any amount of time you should have recovery gear (although some people clearly forego that based off of how often I have had to recover other people).
For me as I’m sure for many others the prep and planning is a good portion of the fun of the trip. If it’s hunting, camping, or even a family vacation the planning and prep is always fun for me.
Remember the old days when you threw some things in the vehicle, a box of food, some water, a hand held torch, a tent and headed off to camp. Now it’s a full on exercise in buying all the modern knick knacks which then necessitate bigger vehicles, trailers etc etc. 👍🏻🙏🦘
They go on wayyyy more intense trips for many days so I imagine one-nighters are a great time to test/maintain their gear they actually need on their big trips. They also have some new crew so they probably need a light trip to train them and work out the kinks.
@@ShaneCawthon having spent a great deal of my camping time while alpine climbing in winter in AK, I agree they don’t do much “intense” camping…. However if I was living on the road for 2 months straight like this group has then I’d be fine having a good amount of gear (not this much, but quite a bit more than I have now haha).
I love the Sequoia build it’s coming together. But the Tundra is still my favorite you guys have ever done. Tanner I love how you make the entire instal look factory. It’s a rare thing. Great job, I see your passion behind the installs you do. 👍🏽👍🏽
We are headed to Montana this fall for the first time! We will use notes taken from our last trip to help us fine tune this trips packout and prep. And as always, thanks for the great video!
It’s been a few years since I kept up with the channel (Central America trip). Glad to see you guys have grown so much. This is awesome. Definitely getting back into following the channel more.
Thanks for joining us again on Shop Talk! We are having a blast getting to share some 'behind the scenes' content with you all that never make the big films. We hope we can give you some tips along the way and please let us know if there are any other topics you have questions about. Happy weekend!
Have you guys done an expedition with any of the new electric vehicles? Would love to see how they would handle the trips you do wether 1 night, weekend, or longer! It would be cool to see a Rivian in the fleet!
All of my planning and trip checks and gear is based off this channel 100%. From Redarc to boxes to tires. Why reinvent the wheel when you can copy the experts!
Where's Odin(The gladiator). I'm a huge fan of Odin being a jeeper although I love Toyota LC as well especially the 80 series. I do love LC 300 GR sports but it's price tag is a big problem and being a new vehicle after-market parts are so limited. But for 80 series spring conversion to coils, all kinds of suspension with even 4-5 inch lift, CBI fabs made very awesome and practical off roading gears.. You name it. Please if Odin is still on the XO hanger please used it for the next expeditions, weekend camping etc.
First off, you guys are amazing! Second, do you know what kind of paint you used to paint your Sceptre Water jug light blue with? My sister is obsessed with that exact color and I want to make one for her. Cheers!
@@abjeepify no I mean on the roof rack I’ve seen people have two like 12” light bars side by side and use them at the same time instead of having one 30” bar.
Hey I’m looking for a New Toyota 2022 do you have an email list for Toyota motors Co.. so I can order a truck I wanna crew cab long bed with a standard transmission I don’t like automatic Thank you 🙏🏼
People don’t realize that this prep is required because of the nature of your builds and comfort it provides, besides, prep is also part of the fun! I do very minimalistic camping in my tacoma thats completely stock, but i also live in a tropical island so a hammock and a tarp will do for most cases! Love the content! Hopefully ill visit montana one day 🙏🏻
I hope you survive such an extreme excursion!
Imagine the dudes who load their rigs up like this who only go for a day or two a few times a year.
Lots of fancy, state-of-the-art stuff here, but I’m not sure I’d want to have to do this much prep, testing, and worry to go out for one night.

They spend more time in preparation than anything else.

I laughed when I read the title. "One night Adventure" WTF?

Agreed! The prep is part of the fun for sure!
I sleep all the time in the 20’s with no heat, is my life really at so much risk? Damn, everyday is a gift I guess

Remember when it only took a sleeping bag, a six pack, and maybe a tent (if you were feeling fancy) to go camping for one night? 😐

super overkill for a 1 night trip lol
So much stuff! They even have the MaxxTraxx too!
Stay tuned for a new episode Thursday! We are glad that we had them 👍🏼

Clay you need to look at this 6x6 out of Australia no West Australia. Plug in OKA 6x6 in you tube & have a look.

I just fired up my Mr. Buddy Heater after not touching it for several months. Good reminder to check your gear before heading out for safety purposes.

thats a mean looking muzzle device for an ar pistol... 😮🔥
I can imagine how much you guys bring (overpack) for 1 night. GEAR OVERLOAD 🥸
Totally overpack, but it was also 20 degrees so we brought alllll the sleeping bags.
Clay, can you tell us about your boots you’re wearing? Thanks!
All this for one night?

@FireToFork, the code word on this one is WaterMelon.....
I’m second!!! Great job guys!!!
Thank you!
I prefer not to use a mr. buddy heater…. Definitely all night. Creates condensation.. not good in cold nights.
Off topic... Curious @ why no van builds?
What has happened with the keep gladiator that is within ur convoy??
I don’t think I’ve ever seen you guys do it but can you explain why some people opt for 2 small light bars on the roof rack instead of one large one?
Redundancy one is none, two is one.
@@abjeepify no I mean on the roof rack I’ve seen people have two like 12” light bars side by side and use them at the same time instead of having one 30” bar.
If your one 30 inch dies you have no light. If one of your 12 inch lights dies you still got the other 12 inch
All that prep for a simple one night camping trip? 🤨
Nice video an all, but for one night? It’s too much prep.
Where’s the clone?

Insider trading. No fair.
this is the most ridiculous thing ive seen.
Man, NASA astronauts do less prep and take less gear with them to space than you guys do for 1 night camping.
