Home to artist, maker and creator of youtube channel GET HANDS DIRTY Cristiana Felgueiras and her partner, this downtown Porto apartment has been meticulously handcrafted from scratch. Originally a small run down 70’s office space, adding custom built birch ply furniture and storage through-out has transformed it into fully equipped, personalised space that fits large musical instruments and other important objects. The airy and open living/sleeping area features a large built in floor to ceiling storage piece with a built-in sofa and integrated Murphy bed overhead. Other features include a custom double sided media console, a piano desk and a large wardrobe that doubles as a division and privacy wall between the entry way and the rest of the apartment. Every inch of this unique home is a reflection of thoughtful design within the constraints of limited space.

Cristiana perfectly embodies the principles of small-footprint living... She has meticulously crafted an apartment that is both flexible and adaptable for her and her partner. Every square-meter is being utilized to its fullest potential; allowing for optimal functionality within a small interior space. If more apartments were to be designed like this, I truly believe that the quality of life within our most densely populated cities would greatly improve. This type of lifestyle would provide many people an accessible and affordable housing option, and would help to preserve and unlock the vitality of our most beloved cities. Kudos to NTS for documenting her hard work, and congratulations to Cristiana for getting her hands dirty ;)

Such a great comment… the increasing lack of space in urban areas is causing mental illness and conflicts. Cristina teaches people how to live with more dignity and joy in smaller spaces.
All this time, I had assumed she owned it. Shocked to see it's a rental! She's adding a lot of value for the owner.
Hopefully, with income from subscriptions to her vlogs, she will be able to afford to buy her own place - and do this all over again!
Calling Christina a DIY RUclipsr is an understatement, she's a pro. I've been following her channel for a very long time and saw every bit she planned and constructed.
The fact that this apartment is only 31m2 and still seems to have so much in it and remains so functional is beyond me. In comparison with other small living spaces, what I love here, is that the amount of steps needed to convert the space during the day seems very small. In other places you’d have to first move lots of stuff before pulling down a Murphy bed, but here it feels easy and (dare I say it) organic.
totally, sometimes when i see it in other spaces it looks like so much work that me personally i would just stop bothering with it and leave the sleeping space out all the time, but here it seems like a one and done thing so its very manageable
It was such a neat surprise to find Cris on this channel. I have been following her for years at GET HANDS DIRTY, and really enjoyed watching the apartment develop from a blank space to the incredible place that it has become. It is wonderful to see her work on display for a new audience.

Finally, a space that has both functionality and great design. She's been able to pack a lot in such a small space without compromising neither the look nor the practicality of it. No such things as bathrooms without a door, sinks in your bedroom, curtain dividers and other such horrors I see on this channel sometimes . Great use of a studio apartment.

this is definitely one of the best episodes that I’ve seen on this channel. What this woman has done with her own hands is truly amazing. I would never be able to do anything like this myself. I loved every aspect of this apartment, but the balcony is to die for. It’s so large and spacious like an open terrace where you can spend a lot of time during the warmer days. I would also bring in more plants into the apartment to make it green. All in all I would live there with pleasure.😊 I also proceeded to watch more of this apartment on Christina‘s channel and I am a new subscriber now. Thank you for what you’re doing.
I love the separation of the entrance as well as the kitchen space. Bright airy and not all cluttered , yet not sparse. Really like it.
Bravo for the angled drawers, that must have been challenging with all of the angles.

That's INSANE. Getting to design every square inch/cm of your space like that... I love how the storage was extended right to the edges, absolute maximum storage.
As I've been living for the last 15 years in an old 35sqm apartment where everything is pretty much non-square and very few things are perpendicular, I can say she truly did an incredible job with all her custom furniture!
This is an amazing apartment. So much storage, and all the capacities of a much larger apartment (table that seats 10!) while feeling light and with pops of whimsy throughout the apartment. Christina is extremely talented, especially considering this is the first apartment she's fully done!
So glad so see Cristiana’s apartment finally finished on a deep review, she is amazing and her work should be appreciated and recognized, this tiny space required many years on the work, but the final result it’s just outstanding

This is hands-down my favourite apartment you've featured. I'm going to steal so many useful ideas from this (the laundry hampers above the door... genius). And the fact that she did everything herself is... WOW.
PERFECT. I don’t have a single issue, the apartment is beautiful. I realize that some of the upper cabinets will require a stepladder to reach, but that will happen when making use of ALL of the available space. The furniture and storage design and execution is fantastic. Well done!

I love every aspect of this apartment. I‘ve been following Christiana’s channel for years and find her skills so impressive. You would never know this living space is under 350 square feet. And that kitchen is more functional than many I‘ve seen here on NEVER TOO SMALL. If ever she decides to give that place up, I‘m moving to Porto, Portugal!!

You can truly be happy doing anything you want to do in this space. Playing music, cooking, entertaining with friends, listening to music, playing video games, resting or working. I would not even need to ask the square meters--could move right in! So personalized and so charming.

I've seen Cristina's work over on her own channel. I am so impressed that she 'figured it out', made everything herself and improved on the pull down bed concept. I love how it sails over the sofa and comes to rest on the foldaway desk. Everything is in its place and there is a place for everything.

This minimalist and simple philosophy in interior design allows you to optimize functionality and create a welcoming atmosphere. The life of human beings can be enriching and full without the need to accumulate unnecessary objects or occupy large spaces.
