Originally, when I watched the highlights, looking at Dion I liked that he didnt back down. He looked scared at points but he was dropping bombs from deep and scoring in transition. For the people that think they can do what he did, ask yourself: Am I really qualified to get this work from the King? Respect to Dion from the original vid and even more now knowing his story. What a legend.
Jimmy is just that dude man. Always trying not to bring down the antagonists in his vids too far and even shares the pros that they did. Truly a goat analyst
This is why you and Dom are basically the only two channels I watch. I went crosseyed reading NBA Twitter laugh about giving up a 40 piece. Legit thought LBJ could drop 70 against a nobody. Dion ain't a nobody. My guy played his game and was a hair away from KO the King. BIgups Dion.
@@obsidian_sharp Dude is a pro ball player. That’s typical in an unregulated game, nobody getting paid for and he did show up, but if you or myself just showed up and had that kind of showing, that would be legendary.

Good piece of content right here. You never know where the journey of life will take you sometime. Much respect to Dion for making that last minute decision to take advantage of the opportunity to play against Lebron.
Achievement? Absolutely. Let's be real, Lebron played half speed and wouldn't risk injury for a game that was slightly above a charity run. If he played in regular season mode, it wouldn't have been pretty and let's not think of play-off mode. . . . when healthy of course. Hats off to Dion for manning up and showing out but there is no comparison at all. The man will forever have a piece of history to show his family tree.
@@radtalon6079 Same as Dion, and all the other players in the game, I guess... You can't really defend physical Lebron in a friendly, risking an injury, obviously.
@@ryedye335 Doesn't matter to Dion if Bron only went 5%, 25% or 50%. He played him as best he could in an actual meaningful game. How many people in the world can say they guarded LBJ after playing at SVSM? This is a step ups from Bron playing in open or charity runs in the recent past.
It was impressive for sure and respect to Dion, but LeBron was relaxing in this game, this is like a dunk contest for him, he just styling on fools, which is insane considering these grown men are all from professional basketball backgrounds. See now MJ, he wouldn't relax, as soon as he learned about them tweets, he would have dropped a hundred on Dion, he would have annihilated him publicly and made a show out of it. MJ petty like that, but I guess LeBron is trying to be the bigger man.

You can’t say Bron went “half speed” and was also “held” to 40+ In the same paragraph my guy Lol. Dion was going full intensity all game…Bron just getting a quick workout…
Not to mentioned Bron was trying out new moves and shot a few extra deep 3's. Bron ain't putting his body on the line in a Drew League game, but if he did and played with the same effort as Dion, he'd have walked away with 60+ easy and the game wouldn't have been nearly as close.
This. I said this exact same thing ina comment of my own. Like what?? Great video as usual but like you cant say he held him to only 40 points and then also literally say Lebron's half assing it lmao. He wouldve been able to easily drop 90 points if he was trying. But ya he's definitely not gonna risk his body in a drew league game where 1. The competition is not nearly at the same level as the NBA 2. There's no championship or stakes compared to the NBA.. so there's no point for him to go all out. This literally just practice for Lebron. Meanwhile for the drew league players they are gonna all go 110% bcuz they may never get a chance to play against players of this NBA caliber again
I'll give it up to Dion, regardless if you're going full out, not too many people can put those stats up against Bron and play decent defense against him. LBJ's aura along will make people tremble and this man had the intense look on his face. He played true to himself and at the end of the day, he can say I gave it a 100.
@@NitaNoonany’all acting like it was impressive makes it worse. lebron barely tried, he went all out and lebron dispatched him easily, also he didn’t drop 20 on lebron. he dropped like 5 on lebron and the rest on everyone else.
I have a similar story in another sport. Chance to guard the player a lot consider the greatest of all time. Glad Dion’s story turned out better then mine. Imagine how pissed he’d have been if he hauled his ass all the way from Buffalo, then Bron didn’t show up.
I don’t really think lebron or demar were actually trying that hard. Lebron can lock up pro players, if he really tried the dude wouldn’t of scored. It was just a bit of fun
Yeah he was a real man-- taking on the challenge "I'm guarding Bron" and then even tho he has every excuse NOT to be there, flew across the country to back it up.

But still, the fact that one team had one All-Time great and one NBA All Star and they won just by two points, just goes to show that the Drew League is more competitive than most people think, they call them “Uber drivers” or “Janitors” but like Jimmy said, these are actually good hoopers.

Honestly, Dion held his own, there were a lot of LeBron misses and he scored many times on LeBron as well, thats s huge W imo
You can't really defend physical Lebron in a friendly, risking an injury, obviously.
bron went like 5% lol
But ya he's definitely not gonna risk his body in a drew league game where
1. The competition is not nearly at the same level as the NBA
2. There's no championship or stakes compared to the NBA.. so there's no point for him to go all out.
This literally just practice for Lebron. Meanwhile for the drew league players they are gonna all go 110% bcuz they may never get a chance to play against players of this NBA caliber again

But still, the fact that one team had one All-Time great and one NBA All Star and they won just by two points, just goes to show that the Drew League is more competitive than most people think, they call them “Uber drivers” or “Janitors” but like Jimmy said, these are actually good hoopers.
