The hole cutter that you use that has a 1" blade, they make a longer blade for 1" and a half. Good luck on your next duct work hope you make another. I would love to watch it.
Most of the hand tools we use for duckboard are manufactured by Malco or Amcraft. Here's a link to the Malco brochure malcoproducts.com/images/products/pdfs/fiberglass_duct_tools.pdf
I have ductboard trunk runs in my home. I’ve never heard of that issue. According to the manufacturers, as long as the product is installed and used in an approved manner, there is no risk of airborne fiberglass.
@@AIRMANHVAC I was just asking because I read that when the duct board gets old and deteriorate the fiberglass breaks apart and is circulates in you air
Where the hell did you learn to install fiberglass ductboard? I spent 45yrs in the hvac trade and electrical trade. I've never seen such poorly installed ductwork.
Steve, why don’t you make the world a video of how you fabricate and install ductboard. So we can all see how it should be done. Thanks for your great insightful comment on this video though.
If I hadn't retired, I would. Johns-Manville ductboard and various other companies have instruction booklets on proper fitting fabrication. Look into that.
Great install. You gave me some ideas on how to redo my duct work. I have high static pressure from undersized flex duct. If I link a RUclips video that I took of my flex duct lay out..... Can you comment on it? Would love to have feedback from a professional. I have some layouts worked out and I am just looking for an opinion. I could connect multiple plenum like you do....instead of running all flex duct from the supply to the distribution boxes and the to the registers. I could come up from the supply plenum and come forward and the split to both sides like T and at the end of each plenum run the flex out, which will decrease the length of the flex. Unit is a 3.5 Ton heat pump 1400 CFM. Video of attic ducts ruclips.net/video/iInIN89q8GU/видео.html
You see that s*** that angle he's talking about covering up there should be no angle there if he knew how to do his ductwork right there would not be no angle there he didn't I don't understand what the hell he's doing and that's just shity work laziness or not knowing what to do
I'll send it I don't understand it why is he doing all that and he can make 90s and I don't get it three-piece 90s I mean what the f*** is going on in their boy somebody's going to be pissed
I think I'd be pretty pissed off at a job like this I'm not going to lie to you and they're using metal strap to hang the unit are you shiting me now why aren't you using all thread and unistrut and then the pan then the pan under that and then you're putting the duck backwards that s*** don't make no sense that first box you just cut if that's the supply why is it going backwards I mean I think I would be a little pissed off just to be honest with you because that's not right
I'm glad I found your video. I was wondering what this stuff was called. I need to replace mine.
Awesome ductwork skills !

I was hoping for a tool list with one of the videos.

What is the proper way to install duckboard air boxes between trusses
Good work wow….
Nice
Where are you located I work out of south texas corpus Christi

Do you have to worry about fiberglass particles in the air flow?

Share a link to that if you’ve got it….I’m interested to read that
@@JamesJones-ou6bs they have a some coating on the duct board., there is no particles of duct board (fiberglass) blowing inside the ductwork.

Why didn't they use offsets and 45 and 90 would of been faster then filling in gaps ..
Cause they don't know how to do 45 or 90.
They don't even use a staple gun to keep the flaps I place
How come metal isn't used in the south?
It is, we use metal on jobs that spec it.
They use metal on commercial buildings. I've done ductwork on house with metal (duct pipe) snaplock supply runs
Looks very sloppy. I would've done it to make look more professional. I would give you advice on how to really do ductwork.
They run ductwork over the attic access 😂😂😂
Straps every 3 feet
The practice you see here meets or exceeds local code and passed inspection by a code official. Thanks for commenting.

Hey idanny76…are you using a “ductulator” (duct sizing calculator) to size your duct system based on cfm and static pressure?
Duct board needs to be outlawed!
Hack job!
