- Опубликовано: 7 июл 2024
- In this video we will be going over the Motorola MA1 Wireless Android Auto USB Adapter. We will go over how to setup the Motorola MA1 Wireless Android Auto USB Adapter and my thoughts on the product overall.
The Motorola MA1 wireless android auto dongle for car can be used to add Wireless Android Auto to your Wired Android Auto Only car.
This android auto wireless dongle requires that your car already supports wired Android Auto allowing to convert it to wireless Android Auto.

Do you have the Motorola MA1 or other Wireless Android Auto USB Adapter? Let me know what you think of it below!
Working with boom box GTS 6.5??? (New Harley Davidson Stereo)
@@Markitiell I cannot find confirmation that it will work with that specific stereo, however if it supports wired Android Auto then it should work with the adapter.
So you know more than this devices?
@@mihcox No, there is no companion app and no way to make changes to the settings for the adapter, only what’s in the Android Auto app.
@@psyhonut Sorry, I don't understand your question.
Just purchased the Motorola MA1 and works flawlessly with my 7 Pro. Thanks for the vid!
Does it turn off when you go in the house with your car automatically
My only complaint would be the cable. Should have been longer. That being said, my experience else wise was flawless. Great job motorola.
Thanks for the tip on draining the cars battery. On a hyundai ioniq hybrid (2018) the power shuts off after about 1-2 minutes. USB power turns back on as soon as I open the door, so thats nice for reconnect time.
From what I've gathered, the devices connect over bluetooth and then it uses wifi for normal communication.
Very thorough review, thanks. I like the details about not being able to update it and the possibility of being left on dependant on car! Things I didnt think about. ALSO Android 11 required as my headunit had Android 10.
Another excellent video, congrats! I would love to see one video comparing Motorola MA1, AAWireless and Carsifi over the long run. Wondering how disconnections, battery drain, bugs/issues, connection delays will play out on the longer run.
I'm glad you liked the video! I actually released a new video today for a different android auto / apple carplay adapter you should consider checking out: ruclips.net/video/Sx64U2Gg9co/видео.html
I don't have a carsifi adapter so I can't compare it, but I plan on doing follow up videos on the adapters I do have one I have them for a bit longer. Thank you for the suggestion!
Bonne vidéo et bonnes explications 👍 vivement que le MA1 soit disponible à l'achat en France.
Thanks for this boss! Great rundown.
I'm glad you found it helpful!
This is hysterical. I have both a Telluride and a Pixel 6 Pro and I'm looking for this device. We should be friends lol.
Great video and review. Have mine in order and can't wait to finally have wireless android auto in my car. Always sucks having to unplug my phone to pay and having my maps/music all disconnect.
Glad you liked the video! I will say I never thought of not having to unplug my phone to pay / for curbside pickup until the first time I went to unplug my phone and realized it was wireless lol. Big bonus!
I've had this for about a year now and it works to a point. I've had it shut off on me completely and not want to start up. It a hit or a miss especially for the price that I payed.
Works fantastic in my new Subaru Forester Wilderness with my Pixel 6 Pro. Really no different experience than being wired and it starts up VERY fast.
Have you noticed a difference in the audio quality during phone calls?
@@stansters4433 No. Call quality is very good.
Very helpful, thanks
Great review thank you
Great video very informative!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the video. You answered my pressing question, if you can switch phones easily, as I share a car. Too bad that it prioritizes phones by sequence of pairing, but I'm happy the option at least exists. I was thinking of getting the CARSIFI dongle previously.
Yea I was a bit disappointed when I found that out. The AAWireless will connect to last connected which is nice, but dosen't have a button for easy switching. I could see both ways being useful, I wish there was a companion app that let you configure how it operated lol
Glad you found the video helpful!
@@BeardedTechGuy received mine a few days ago and it's working great, so far. Also share a car where we use a Pixel 5a and 6 pro. Once both phones are set up, it connects to the phone paired first. However, noticed that pressing the side button once drops the first phone and connects to the second. I don't know if I'm tricking myself into believing this or not. It has worked rather quickly the last 2 times in this scenario. Would love to hear if you have the same observation. Thanks 👍🏻
Great review. Thank you, sir.
I'm glad you found it helpful!
Thanks for the review. I bought one a few days ago and am about to go "install" it. My data port is not in the best spot and i don't like having wires where it is.
Thanks for the info. I found the hub connects to my WiFi and when I get home I am not able to connect to my home WiFi as the AndriodAuto WiFi keeps connecting. Is there a setting I am missing? Maybe power is persistent to the MA1 and I might need to do the check you reference with connecting phone to android auto with cable , shutting down car, and locking.
hi mate, thanks for the video. do u have any software /firmware upgrade for the ma1 ?
Q: suppose I set my android to work with hebrew input. Android auto in my car allows me to type hebrew. Does connection with this dongle suport this as well? in other words - is the dongle a transparent bridge b/w the phonne and AA?
Thanks for the video. Do you know if this will work with a Note 9?
How long is the connection with the unit is plugged in and you start you car from a cold start?
how does woek work when two phones which are paired with MA1 are in the car sam time?
Thank you for the video. The ma1 fit to all cars? Hyundai Tucson 2021? And wich is better Motorola or aa wireless?
As long as the the car supports wired Android Auto it should work with it.
AAWireless vs MA1:
MA1 has button that can be used to switch phones; AAW does not so harder to swap
MA1 has a short fixed cable; AAW has detachable USB-C cable. Some like the cable being fixed, I don't and it's too short (11cm total, 7cm for bendable wire section)
AAW has a companion app which allows for updates (new features) and changing settings such as forcing DPI to get AA Split screen; MA1 does not have a companion app and no extra features
MA1 can be purchased through Amazon & Target (at least in US); AAW ships international but through indiegogo
AAW: $85USD ; MA1: $89.95USD
Thanks for the video. Does it go wide-screen with the recent Android auto update on telluride? Is there any lag when using this adapter?
Wide screen on the telluride for Android Auto is an issue with the car's radio unit and not android auto. One of the newer updates (i think version 15) added the ability for AA to use the whole screen on larger displays.
i actually have a video going over how to do the update process for KIA vehicles which you can find here: ruclips.net/video/GugXt_2_aFs/видео.html
Great review. In a 5th gen Ram, the usb ports can be adjusted to how long you want them on.
Oh that's a nice feature! I wish I had that option 🤣
(I'm glad you liked the video. My car turns power on to the USB port as soon as the door is unlocked so for me my phone is usually connected and ready to go before I even get buckled.)
@@BeardedTechGuy спасибо за ответ друг, подумаю о покупке
Does it need to connect via Wi-Fi too or just Bluetooth? I am looking for one that is just Bluetooth because the one I have has to use both and it kill my phone battery quickly. Also, does this one disconnect from your phone randomly?
i really hope this thing works for me, i dont use android auto too often but when i do its usually when i really need it and my android auto is constantly disconnecting at the worst possible times. different cables dont help so i hope its not the port itself but if it is hopefully this will make it more stable than my jostling phone
What if the ma 1 doesn't blink like you described? How do you reset a ma 1 that was previously working then stopped? How do I know if it's broken?
Nice Telluride! Appreciate your video. I've been using the AA Wireless and decided to make a change due to inconsistency. How has this been with your vehicle? Does it disconnect while driving at times?
I'm glad you liked the video! I haven't really had any issues with it. Sometimes things get a little funky when switching between phones but outside of that once in a while it's been solid
Great review but...... how do you turn it off once paired? I tried killing the Bluetooth on my phone which disconnected it but it came right back. Same for the WIFI. I take a lot of short rides so I don't always need this running. All in all though, it's pretty cool.

This will depend on your car and how it handles the power to the USB port for Android Auto. Some cars do not turn off power ever to the port, while others (like mine) will turn power off to the port 5 - 10 minutes after the car doors are locked. I'd suggest locking your car and giving it a little while to see if the connection goes away on its own (if you haven't already). If the car leaves power to the port always on then you will have to either unplug the adapter when not in use or you could look into an extension cable with a on/off toggle such as this: amzn.to/3C02zda .
Great job
thank you!
The only I can't get working with mine is voice control. It works wired. Any tips?
Uhg.... scalpers strike again. I need one of these and was excited to find your video here, especially when you said $90............. Went to your link........ one buying option at $270..... $170 t $270 on ebay
wow that is crazy! Hopefully they can provide a better stock.
Nice video. I've been thinking about getting one for a while now. What would the drainage on the phone be? As not connected to the car, for example a 3-hour drive using maps, Spotify, etc?
That'll depend on your phone, but I would not recommend using it for that long as its probably going to overheat your phone and drain the battery. For me, anything over a 30 minute car ride I will use wireless AA, but I'll have my phone plugged into a more powerful car charger compared to the wired AA USB port my car has
It is a delightful video. Thankfully i need your advice. After changed my phone, as i try to connect with them, it needs password on wifi.
So may i know it??? I guess it is similar with others. Thanks
I just bought an Pixel 7 and I saw that this adapter was discounted $30, so I picked it up.
It worked right off the bat with my Pioneer stereo, with no lag. So far so good.
I'm glad to hear, and thank you for sharing your experience so far!
Great can't seem to get the second phone via the switch button, might have factory reset and try again
Thank you for the great review
I have a kia telluride
Can you share a photo how u fixed the dongle
Because the cable is fixed you have to let it hang there. If you wanted to tuck it above the compartment where the wireless charger is you'd need a USB extension such as amzn.to/3JgSsn4. I only used that cable with the MA1 (10ft version) so I know that one works. I'd assume others would work too as long as they have power and data but I can't confirm that.
No audio delay in calls? I've had dongles that had delays for about 2 seconds. How about latency when pressing the screen? Is as fast as wired connection? Thank you
I have not noticed any difference in quality of experience between wired Android auto and the MA1 with my Pixel 6 Pro. Startup takes a little longer (adapter has to boot on power on) compared to just plugging the phone in, but that's really about it for differences for me.
Hello and thanks for this review, does it work with a usb hub? I would like to use my usb key containing my music at the same time because I only have one usb port in my car
I tried with a few different USB hubs and had no luck unfortunately
Nice video. Should the phone be deleted out of the vehicle's bluetooth devices before using the MA1?
thanks a lot
Thanks for the video!!! I just purchased it and am looking forward to trying it later this week!
Does this always have to be plugged into the automobiles data port or can it be moved after setup to any usb port that provides power?
It needs to be plugged into the data port of the car for Android Auto to function
How does the MA1 handles sharing of locations in maps? A common thing I do when using my phone with android auto is that I receive a location on my whatsapp and after clicking it, it automatically loads the route through maps. Now that it will be a separate device, how can I send the location I want to go to the MA1 without the need of using voice command?
The MA1 is just a wireless bridge between your phone and car. It should function exactly the same as if you had your phone plugged in and using Android Auto.
I received mine yesterday. Pretty easy to set up but I have had a few issues. It has disconnected several times and then reconnected. Also, when listening to music, the music has stopped and started numerous times. I too am concerned there seems to be no way to update the firmware. I hope there may be a way to in the future because if it is always this buggy, it may not be worth the trouble. At least it works though. I bought an Ottocast and it doesn't work at all so there is that.
Do you have the issue with any music / audio app playing or just a specific one?
That message appears on the vehicle head whether I plug the phone directly into the truck USB or plug in the MA1. I have a 2019 Nissan Frontier SV. I believe the radio is original . I asked the dealer about it and the service advisor pulled the original sticker and said it did not come with Android Auto. I bought the MA 1 because I was told that was a work around to get Android auto. I would like to know if I'm just spinning my wheels? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Based on what I am seeing it looks like your vehicle doesn't support Android Auto. You'll need to do a third party head unit for that. I found this Reddit post on a possible option if you want to go down that route: www.reddit.com/r/nissanfrontier/comments/pb6r05/upgrading_head_unit_for_android_auto/
Does it also work with a phone which has Android 9 and 4G Wifi?
Thanks for this.
I do not understand why there is the need for a device such as the Motorola MA1.
Why don't car manufacturers include Wireless capability in the Head Units?
It's still a "newer" technology so adoption still isn't wide spread. I'd bet within 5 years that most cars will have wireless Android Auto.
@@BeardedTechGuy I see. Thanks very much for the reply. :)
Hey, great video. You mentioned that you had issues and you had to factory reset it a couple of times...can you please let me know the issues and how to factory reset it...I connected it and it worked but it stopped working, it doesn't connect automatically anymore,...any suggestions? Thanks
To factory reset: delete the AA connection from your phone and delete the BT pairing as well. Then hold the button down for 30 seconds and let it go. I did the factory reset (button portion) several times in a row (pulling power and letting it boot each time in between).
Hope that helps!
@@BeardedTechGuy I'm going to try it tomorrow! Thank you!
Setting the Start AA Automatically to Always was a problem in my setup. Maybe because my third party headunit was still in it's bootup process when the MA1 fully boots. The phone kept Looking for Android Auto but never connecting. Setting this to Set by Car resolved it for me. Before I figured this out my wired connection was already working prior to this and for some reason I had set this to Always and the only way I could get the MA1 to work properly was to connect it to the headunit after it booted up.
I'll do everything but in the end nothing is working first white light shows and then green light blinks only 2 times and then red light shows ,can you help me out with this
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be available anywhere in the US at this time.
Hopefully they come back in stock soon! I managed to get lucky and get an order in on amazon by just trying every few hours. Target is selling them too (sold out last time I checked).
@@BeardedTechGuy I heard a few weeks ago that Walmart was going to selling them too, but as of yet, haven't seen anything in Walmart or on their website.
Does steeeing controls work?
How is this compared to the AAwireless dongle? and does it have audio sync problems?
For me performance is the same between the two. I do like having a button on the side that lets you switch phones but disappointed there's no companion app for updates or setting changes.
I haven't had any audio issues with any of the wireless adapters I've used so far. I think this might be more tied into the car used
I've been using mine for a week now. I found that if you unpair your phone from you stereo first, then connect it to the dongle it will stream a lot better. If you don't, your device will struggle to connect to one or the other. Resulting in music stuttering and connection issues.
Interesting find! For me my phone will connect to both without issue.
Which phone are you using?
Needed this cause I've been using AA for years on the same phone and my charging port has been slowly ruined. Chargers just slip right out
Do i need to have enable BT on my phone after ive configured connection with motorola?
question do you need a touch screen or android auto in the car? my truck doesn't have none of those options.
Yes, the MA1 requires that your vehicle already has Android Auto. This adapter only acts as a wireless bridge between your phone and car's Android Auto wired connection
Hi. This device works with brands such as Pioneer, Alpine, Boss, etc? Thanks anda regards from Lima, Perú
As long as it supports wired Android Auto it should work
The MA1 is working in my 2021 ram truck and a note 9.
But it is turning off the data . When on waze I can't even input
anything or pick up the phone and check emails not sure what is wrong . I can force apps to use data only . But then when I am in the house wifi. They are using data. Any help would be appreciated. Before I send it back
What happens when you aren't near your home's wifi and are you using a in car hotspot?
Can i do screen mirroring for video?
No, this adapter is only to convert your wired Android Auto connection to wireless between your phone and car.
I love mine. Glad I pre-ordered on Amazon. I've had no issues at all and it usually connects within 20-30 seconds. Sometimes faster.
I tried the Ottocast startup box that does AA and CarPlay but it was a mess. I had to eat the money on that because they wouldn't pay for me to do it back to China for a refund.
I was happy to see this from Moto.
What issues are you having with your ottocast adapter?
@@BeardedTechGuy There was an issue connecting initially. The screen was garbled and I couldn't get it to connect through the WiFi to download the update they said would fix it. I scraped it and ordered the Moto box.
What about the music sound quality as compared to wired Android auto?
I personally do not notice any difference between wired and using a AA wireless adapter
I just ordered this adaptor. My car radio does not have wireless Android Auto. I bought a cheaper model head unit.
I also ordered a case for it.
unable to connect 2 phones, what could be wrong? thanks!
I have have had the car link 4.0 and this was very laggy the screen would keep flickering all the time does this do that also before I buy this.
I did not experience any lag or screen flickering with the MA1.
GOT A QUICK QUESTION... this doggle is connected to my phone and works on my Harley radio just fine. Android auto works just fine connected by cord on my 20 Silverado. But when I plug in the doggle to the truck, the green light goes solid meaning it's connected to the phone but it does not transfer the picture to the screen but the directions still come across the speakers from the phone. I just can't open the phone to see the directions because it's connected to the doggle. My question is if it works on the Harley why is it not coming up on the screen on the Silverado even though it is connected to the doggle? All it does is shows a spinning wheel and says "searching for phone".
Hmmmm that's an odd one. I've seen that a few people have some issues with Silverados and AA in general. I assume your phone works wired to it directly?
If possible make sure your head unit is running the latest software version as well.
Not being able to update the firmware is an automatic FAIL by Motorola and the MA1. I returned mine and is now using the AAWireless June 2022 version with the updated firmware. Did not work well with my Mazda and took far to long to connect vs the AAwireless.
Is your touchscreen the manufacturers original? How old is your car that you paired it to? Mine might be too old.. I don't really know
Yes OEM 2020 Kia telluride. If your car supports wired Android Auto, the MA1 should work with it.
Is it possible to work on the jeture X70 Plus screen?
I can't verify that specific model but if it supports wired android auto it should work!
Is that true that image quality is worse with that dongle? I've read it on Amazon reviews...
I have used a Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 5a with a 2020 Kia Telluride SXP without any issues, after doing a few factory resets of the adapter. I have not seen any quality difference between wired or wireless with the adapter. I have also not heard any sound difference as well that I know a few people reported. I personally think those reporting the issues are telling the truth tho and it is going to depend on a combination of phone and car.
Hi, would it work with Toyota Prius Gen 2(2005)?
If it supports wired Android Auto currently then the MA1 should work with it. If the vehicle does not support Wired Android Auto, then it would not.
Great video. Any idea why mine can't connect after it pairs?
Glad you liked the video! I see you mentioned on someone else's comment that you had to enable Wireless Android Auto. Did that fix this issue for you?
@@BeardedTechGuy yes. I see you commenting on Amazon all the time. Thx.
Hi if car doesn't have android car play, would this work on it?
Thanks in advance.
A car NEEDS wired android auto for this device to work.
👍
What about Google assistant wakeup via steering wheel controls, does it still work like wired?? Seems no one is covering steering wheel controls with this unit
I always forget that's even a function. I'll test it later today and let you know!
@@BeardedTechGuy thanks
The steering wheel was able to trigger Google Assistant (Kia Telluride)
@@BeardedTechGuy thanks👍🏿
2020 GMC Sierra or Silverado? Everything connects like it should but can never get to come up on screen in truck, says cannot connect with retry or cancel buttons.
Are you getting the error on the truck or on your phone?
Yes doesn't work..any advice pls.thank u
On my truck
Do you need a navigation head unit with android auto for this to work?
You just need a car that supports wired Android Auto. Navigation would then work through Android Auto using your phone's data. If your car does not support Android auto this adapter would NOT work in your car.
Does navigation fully work on google maps with this device ?
Yup!
For some reason i cant get it to work, when I pair the adapter with my phone it still keeps flashing.
I have a Ford Focus 2022 and a Xiaomi Mi MIX 3.
If you are still having the issue I would attempt factory resetting the device, removing the pairing from your phone, and repairing
Mine work amazing but there is this one part is disconnects randomly only on on spot on my drive to work 😐
Ordered this from Amazon on my lunch break at work, for my 2019 Ford Edge which supports Android Auto. Got tired of wondering when or if I would be able to get the Carsifi adapter, so I asked for a refund which was granted.
I hope you enjoy it!
So I have a 2015 RAV4 which doesn't even android auto installed in the infotainment system.. will I be able to have Android auto in my RAV4 if I purchase this ?
Ugh.. never mind!!
Unfortunately no (like you already figured out). Does your car support Apple Car play?
@@BeardedTechGuy nah
When I plug my Morotola MA1 in the truck usb port a message comes up MTP is not supported. Is there anyway to get this to work? Thanks
Is that message on your phone or truck?
It's in my truck . Thanks
Hmm that's an odd one I don't think I've ever seen that message occur on a vehicle head unit before. Does Android Auto work when you plug your phone in?
I can try to look into it more but I'll need more information:
What phone are you using?
What truck? (include year)
Do you have an after market head unit? (if yes, what model)
How does factory reset work ???
Good video. I also have a Telluride and a Stinger #GoKia
Glad you liked the video!
Issue with USB port always on is it attempts to connect while in the house, knocking you off WiFi, getting a usb cord with toggle on and off,
Luckily mine turns off eventually but there are times my phone will switch over to AA while I'm on a call, not fun. lol
Great in-depth review! Was debating on getting this to review. Having the Motorola branding definitely increased exposure for devices like these.
I have the AAWireless Dongle instead of this one. That one comes with a companion app that solves the issue of it staying connected because the usb port is powered. They have a setting in the app you can enable called "Start/Stop" which says to only connect to the dongle when you're also connected to bluetooth in your car. You only connect to bluetooth when your car is turned on or the door are open for long enough. Haven't had the issue since.
I think getting a companion app to be able to push firmware updates is key for this thing. Otherwise, I'd go with AAWireless.
Where can I get this in Canada. Looking online Amazon is the only place I can find and it's selling for $150 US. After shipping import fees and the exchange rate I'm looking at well over $200 to pick this thing up.
Looks like its only being sold in the US currently. You could check out the AAWireless ( I did a review on it here: ruclips.net/video/6Hef11kzEaQ/видео.html ) they ship to countries outside of the US. Also, if you live close to the US boarder and there happens to be a target, you could try to snag one and do ship to store..... Its sold out currently but another possible option for you.
@@BeardedTechGuy awesome! Thanks for your help. I'll give it a look.
Worked flawlessly with my pixel 6 pro, but can't get my wife's pixel 5a to work. I can pair to it, but then the phone asks to select android auto on the display, and my car (chevy volt) says a device has to be connected first. So the car now doesnt recognize it? I checked the android auto settings on her phone and wireless android auto is enabled. It's not a car issue either because my pixel 6 pro connects flawlessly and the car lets me select the screen. Any ideas?
Is her phone paired to the car via bluetooth yet? If not, try that
Hello. Who more better: aawireless or ma1?
Depends on your use case. Here are the major differences between the two.
AAWireless vs MA1:
• MA1 has button that can be used to switch phones; AAW does not so harder to swap
• MA1 has a short fixed cable; AAW has detachable USB-C cable. Some like the cable being fixed, I don't and it's too short (11cm total, 7cm for bendable wire section)
• AAW has a companion app which allows for updates (new features) and changing settings such as forcing DPI to get AA Split screen; MA1 does not have a companion app and no extra features
• MA1 can be purchased through Amazon (at least in US); AAW ships international but through indiegogo
• AAW: $85USD ; MA1: $89.95USD
@@BeardedTechGuy A couple of other differences: MA 1 licensed Android Auto from Google, AA Wireless did not and my experience shows the difference. MA 1 worked first time out of the box with my Samsung phone and Toyota car, AA Wireless never did. And, if MA 1 does not work for you, it can be returned via either Target or Amazon; I have yet to get an answer from AA Wireless how to return their device.
will this work on 2015 kia forte
If your vehicle supports wired Android Auto then the MA1 should work with it.
I have a couple of questions that you may have encountered one is my car has built in Wi-Fi how can I connect to the adapter and still use my in-car Wi-Fi data?
The second is it works good when operating I have no issues with it as per operation the issue I have is 20 to 30% of the time if I get out of the car go in a store come back get in the car it does not reconnect I either have to unplug the unit and plug it back in.
Also it seems like it takes more than 30 seconds to connect. 🤷
Thanks
I tested with a different wireless adapter and my MiFi and it worked so the MA1 should work the same as well, but I will try to test it in the next few days and let you know.
Does your vehicle turn off power to the USB port when it's turned off? I'm wondering if the MA1 is being left on which is causing it to not auto reconnect.
Connection time is going to largely be car dependent, mine will load Android Auto pretty quickly once it detects it. How long does your car take to show AA when plugged into the phone directly?
If I plug in the cable it's instant basically. Sometimes it will reconnect but most times I have to unplug it a few times before it will finally connect wirelessly.
USB cuts off when the car is off
I read the car-fi one can do wireless Android auto and hotspot at the same time.
Motorola sound didn't really have an answer they said they don't think so.
sems useless for me if i can not use my cars wifi port when MA1 is connected. that is how i get my maps data and stfeam the amizon music AA app. so i guess this is not.going to work for me. i need to send it back. or is there a way to have it use my cars wifi? i thought it used BT it did not zay it would take over my wifi port on the pbone too so that i can not access car wifi for streaming. ugh
@@staceywilbur3365 that's how all wireless AA works it uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection. Wi-Fi can handle more data than Bluetooth.
Connection issues have resolved since I upgraded to the Pixel 6A but I still haven't been able to get it to do Wi-Fi direct and hotspot...
@@Hurlamania The MA1 works fine if I turn the Verizon Mobile Data On but i only have a 2 gb plan not a unlimited plan. and pulling data from verizon while driving can be unreliable in my area. That is why I use the car wifi. it is way more reliable with the external antenna and i can stream to my hearts content. but since the wifi port is used on my phone by the MA1 to do its communications there is no way to ger access to my cars wifi at the same time I guess.
i saw that AAwireless version seems to work the same way, stealing the wifi port so I would need to turn on Mobile Data on my phone for it to work.
So this is a no go for me.
may I ask you what kind of car do you have????...I have a 2023 Hyundai Sonata...
2020 Kia telluride
What's the default pw? I'm trying to pair it but I need a pw to pair. There is no pw listed on box or manual.
You shouldn't need one. I'd recommend deleting the Bluetooth, WiFi, and Android Auto connections from your phone and repair.
@@BeardedTechGuy Thanks Ill do that.
Note that some vehicles have up to 1 hour USB live after shut-down.
