Got one, love it! It stacks really well with muff and hm2 and the metalizer. It’s just brilliant . I’m getting ready to write an outstanding review to verlie at PastFx.
Excellent playing as always Bjorn. Past FX makes so many cool pedals & they all sound really good. I heard they’re working on the Electro Harmonix Echo Flanger/Poly Chorus; if anybody can do it it’s them. Another notable user of the TC Line Driver was Scott Ian. That pedal into a JCM800 is the sound of early Anthrax & SOD.
I started playing the guitar because of 80s Gilmour! My personal top Choice would be: - Until we Sleep (Studio Version) - Brother were you Bound - Yet Another Movie - Run Straight Down - Terminal Frost
What people never really emphasize about this pedal is the amount you have to push it before you start getting any gain. It is *not* first and foremost a distortion pedal. It is a boost that distorts if you turn it up all the way. That being said though it is a lovely boost / EQ
Excellent work...over tones from David Gilmour what he thinks about these pedals: Dumble style, Hermida Zen Drive, TS808 and Morning Glory. Health and peace!
Great job Bjorn 🙏🏻 Have you ever had a look or try of the full size TC Electronic Spark booster with its 3 diff modes? Would love to see you review that one wrt things like the colorsound powerboost and tube driver 👍🏻 Thanks and keep up the excellent work! 🙏🏻
Thanks! Yes, I did a review of that years ago. It's a very good booster but it doesn't distort so what you get is a clean booster /EQ. The Power Boost is more of an overdrive.
Awesome! Great sounds! What is the mic position for Shure SM57 on the speaker? And what reverb are you using for the emulation of stereo sound? Thanks!
there was a time when I was in clubs 5-6 nights a week in the american south and gulf coast in 80s and 90s. The only pedal I saw more than the TC Electronics was a standard wah. When that hit the scene, guitarists all over got one because it seemed so new and cool and worked well into black face and silver face fenders and Peavey’s that were everywhere. it was an absolute phenomenon. I talked to guys everywhere who ditched their RATs, tube screamers for these. man, this takes me back. 👨🦳
Yes. It’s a tricky one. Alone the HM2 sound horrible bit David had his going into different amp heads acting like preamps or boosters, making the HM2 sound similar to a Muff or Rat.
Very good master! Please answer me a question, how do you add the delay, reverb and chorus (and others effects)? Are they added to the pedal signal flow and everything is ready in the amp or do you add them via plugins in the DAW? And if you could answer me, which DAW do you currently use? By the way, make a video about how to record the guitar in such a spectacular way as yours, this would be very welcome!
Chorus and other modulation is added with pedals. In this clip I'm using an old early 80s Boss CE2. Delays and reverb is added in Logic. I use different plugins depending on what I need - sometimes Logic plugins and sometimes third party. I always add those later. Just gives me more control over the recording.
@@gilmourishofficial Ok so if I understand correctly you record the guitar with this signal flow: guitar / cable / BLD pedal / amp - that's correct? All the effects are added in Logic after record? Thanks for answering because I think your recordings are simply perfect.
David Gilmore is still alive and touring if you're unsure then why doesn't somebody ask him or ask somebody to ask him I'm sure he will answer to the best of his ability.
Past Efx is a killer company
So many cool clones.

Verlie did a fantastic job on that one… WOW
Absolutely!
My favorite 80’s tone and solo are definitely On The Turning Away live from Delicate Sound of Thunder.

Terminal Frost! Amazing cover
Great job man!
Thank you!
This thing sounds super versatile. Gonna have to look into it. Great playing as always.
Thanks!
Great sounds Bjorn! Nice to see you jamming on the SG.
Thanks Kit! Mainly use the SG and Les Pauls these days 😉
Oh goodness😮...that's the one I crave my man.. beautiful tones
Thank you!

On the turning away from Delicate Sound of Thunder is probably my favorite Gilmour solo. But I guess he used a Bif Muff on that?
Probably, yes.
nice playing!
Thank you!
Just when I thought I had my board the way I wanted it...
😂

@@gilmourishofficial Thanks! Is the review still on this channel? I couldn't find it...
Wonderful stuff…Btw, I wonder if that new ‘Black Cat’ Strat that David sports of late is being released for purchase ?…
Ha ha, maybe. That's just a Fender Signature NOS with a sticker he, or one of his kids, made :)
When will you do a review of the 1990 Knebworth tones?
Awesome! Great sounds!
What is the mic position for Shure SM57 on the speaker?
And what reverb are you using for the emulation of stereo sound?
Thanks!
Thanks! The mic is placed about 2 inches away from the grille and slightly off axis. I’m using stock Logic reverbs.
Well crap....I have been on the fence about trying out the bld and possibly a mischef from Verlie. Looks looks like the next thing on my list.
its not related to this pedal/video but do you think the jhs 3 series flanger would be a good affordable option to get gilmour tones?
Mooer e-lady is highly recommended by many Gilmour tone chasers. I have one myself, it’s pretty good and cheap

Sounds huge, amazing Bjørn, just a question, can we get 80's (Division Bell) tones with the RAT 2?
Absolutely! David used the Rat on a couple of songs on DB. Check out my Rat video ruclips.net/video/Q2MYFCqiVqY/видео.htmlsi=9PafdAfrGjtY18mV
I get a similar distortion sound with my Boss DS-1 Waza in custom mode. Have you tried that one Bjorn?
Yes, it’s similar.
is there in Europe any store that selling pastfx effects?
Have you ever explored DG sounds with the Boss HM-2? I searched your videos and I can't find any with it.
Yes. It’s a tricky one. Alone the HM2 sound horrible bit David had his going into different amp heads acting like preamps or boosters, making the HM2 sound similar to a Muff or Rat.

early 80's - the tone on The Final Cut solo / Late 80's - Sorrow
BLD our Bd2 Boss? Thanks!
Two different sounding overdrives although overlaping to some extent. I don't know... the BD2 is hard to beat.
I think I’m over my GAS… now when I hear a pedal sound I like I’ll use the pedals I already have to copy it… Wayyyyy cheaper..✌🏼
Sounds like RAT…
The rat sounds like everything. Million tones in that cheap little box lol
It has a similar tone, but much less mid range, more low end and an overall more dynamic tone.
Сколько же пустопорожней болтавни.......
