Have you seen Orca? What did you think of it?

3:18 I saw 'Orca' as a 7 or 8-year-old kid, watching it with my family on television; probably around 1978, and it terrified me.
One scene that is forever etched into my brain involves the female killer whale (orca) being caught by Richard Harris and other whalers and as they are winching her up, her calf was prematurely birthed and landed on the deck dead and bloody. That was a shocking visual and sound that I've never forgotten.
Plus, the score by Ennio Morricone was wonderfully sad, melancholic, and memorable. I finally managed to buy it on CD about 20 years ago and it was a fairly rare one at the time. I've got the Blu-ray too, but haven't watched the movie again, not since that 1978 viewing on television.

The genius of this b-movie is that it is a classic revenge story from the 70s with its good doses of explicit violence, so characteristic of the cinema of that time, BUT THE ANTI-HERO IS A MARINE MAMMAL WITH A THIRST FOR REVENGE!!!😱
I also adore 1976's King Kong, a film that is millions of light years away from Peter Jackson's insufferable, ridiculous and childish King Kong.
    😘👍🤘

I didn't realize that boat ride would be in real time.

Ah great! I’m glad there’s recent review of this movie because funny enough I’ve just recently been rewatching it. 😂🍿🎥 I personally love this film. I am a fan of eco horror, B movies or otherwise, and this is like my top fave next to Jaws. The animatronic’s name was Ramon? Where did you learn because I certainly never heard of it and I’ve been trying to find how many BTS bits that I can find about this movie with what little I was able to find.

Found it in an article titled "Facts about Orca". There was also the claim that Orca was nominated for an academy award for best sound design and cinematography, but I could not verify that. It could have been nominated but didn't make the final ballot, but without verification... who knows.
Glad you enjoyed the review! If you enjoyed this one, check out our Cruel Jaws review. ruclips.net/video/0bA7irdu1Pc/видео.html
