There was once an orca that attacked a shark in Hawaii, over the next several days there were reports of sharks that had supposedly headed to the isles to avenge the one that was attacked. Whether it was just coincidence or it was true I couldn't tell you. But I can tell you that sharks are more intelligent than you'd think. Most of the time sharks only attack if they mistake you for a seal. After the first bite they usually realize the thing they're biting into. Most of the time. Every once and awhile though, there seems to be one that ain't quite right. Some say it's the ocean's way of creating a balance to fairness. Revenge for those of us that treaded waters who the seas couldn't claim. Of course, it's just speculation and tom foolery, but at least to me, if it is true, it makes all those stories of sea monsters and disappearing vessels make sense. An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. Soul for soul.
@tacocatvlogs I’m (Ari) absolutely in love with the stories of what once lived in the seas and what could still be hidden deep down! Thank you for sharing this anecdote! 😃
I have gone scuba diving in Cancún. The reason you drop backwards was made abundantly clear to me as I stood up to sit on the edge of the boat. All the weight of the gear is on your back. When I stood a wave knocked me off balance and the full weight of the gear yanked me backwards into the water. It’s pure physics. You just fall with the weight until you balance out in the water.
I always thought it was strange in the opening, that it is late afternoon when Brody arrives at the Amity Shores celebration, then it gets dark really soon, during the refreshments and dance scene. It supposed to be summer and staying lighter until at least ,after 9 pm. .. But I know that was how it was edited.
Absolutly underrated altough the original is as good as movie itself not just like a 'horror', but the director and Scheider made this one a very good sequel. I always want a good new one with the old Hooper and maybe one of these kids who has a PTSD. Fun fact: the sharks has very unique skin its like a millions of little teeth, when they swim next to you, they can chechk your taste, that's why the girl was bleeding.
Interesting factoid on the Jaws films, there was an unfinished project for the next movie after this to be "Jaws 3, People 0" which because this was years later moving into the 80s and people attached to said project would take a much more comedic and absurdist angle. Long story short, it got shot down for multiple reasons but a main crux of it was wanting to keep the film series to be taken seriously and not turn it into a comedy, which is kind of ironic when you see the next film that was made is Jaws 3D which is unintentionally Hilarious
Glad you enjoyed JAWS 2 this much; it didn't get much love for some years actually. Can add that actor Gary Dubin, who was the ill-fated Eddiev(Tina's boyfriend) passed away several years ago😢 Enjoy your channel -- looking forward to more reactions frpm you.😊
I personally always liked Jaws 2 more than the original Jaws. I had nightmares as a kid from TINA SCREAMING the entire last 1/2 hour of the movie. And I related more to Jaws 2 because of the young cast.
I'm new to your reactions and I love a lot of them so far! I hope it's ok to make a suggestion for another great shark movie. There is a movie called The Reef (2010) and, in my opinion, it's a great film! I think you two may like it.
Thank you so much for your support, we truly appreciate you! And yes, we are always thrilled with recommendations, so thank you! The Reef is on our list!
20:28 - you guys forgot how the diver shot a picture at the shark when he was ambushed at 1:51. When you see the picture(20:05) Brody reacts like reviving that moment the shark gave him the eye(just like the Rock) in the 1st movie; it is also meant to actually see the angle/closeness of the shark right the moment the diver was about to be bitten.
So, answering your questions about why divers always go into the water like that, the physics first, the tank is on their backs and is one of the most common ways to dive, "there are many others, like sidemount and other technical diving specialties" but the weight is on the tank, those seem to me aluminum by the looks of them, that are generally even more heavier than steel tanks counterparts, because aluminum is not that resistant and needs more reinforcing, so more weight, those seem to me "alu 80 tanks" that weight about 32 pounds, 14.2 kg metric unit, so the diver balances itself out of the boat with his hand on the regulator "breathing apparatus on his mouth" because he needs to be able to breath when he submerges immediately and on his mask "googles, diving mask" , you don't sink immediately to the bottom.. why? Divers on that movie have primitive BC's "Buoyancy compensators, named Horse collar BC'S you can see something that is similar to a life jacket at the diver's neck" that are full of air and also have the positive buoyancy of their wetsuits "you can't sink with a westsuit on, specially those that seem about 5 mm neoprene" so they jump to the water and come immediately to the surface, than you have to deflate your BC "that nowadays are called BCD - Buoyancy Control Devices, and are reinforced jackets with a rubber bladder inside them, this bladder inflates and deflates air" so as soon as you deflate air from your BC/BCD you will sink, because you also have LED weights on your belt that force you to the bottom with what is called, a controlled Descent! Second Observation, yes, that diver got the Bends, besides that, he could had have a Lung Barotrauma, that's also really bad, because he panics and propels himself at an unsafe speed to the surface and without his regulator, what is the Bends? Bubbles of Nitrogen on your blood that go through your tissues and ... Brain, and can kill you with ease if you are not transported IMMEDIATELY to an hyperbaric chamber they were giving the diver Pure Oxygen at the ambulance to help him get stable but even if you survive you can end on a wheelchair, cause those nitrogen bubbles "air bubbles" can enter the muscles of your cervical spine, and I know people that nowadays are disabled because embolism, what is Lung Barotrauma? it is NASTY, when you breathe compressed air down there at the bottom, and you hold your breath to come to the surface the air on your Lungs, expands inside your Lungs and they literally Explode! So please guys, if you want to learn how to dive, get certified, Diving can kill you, if you are not careful and don't know the basics! I like your reactions, subscribed. The blood you see coming from the diver's mouth while he panics and rockets to the surface might happen, because of pure dread and horror, you can bite your own tongue and lip with reflex, seen that happen, even severed tongues, the adrenaline overpowers your body, you don't feel a thing for some long seconds, lung barotrauma and embolism, make you bleed from mouth, nose and ears, this movie has one of the most realistic diving accidents that can happen even to certified amateurs and professionals.
Surprisingly good sequel. I really like it. It wasn't needed but still pretty good. But this should have been it. Jaws 3 and The Revenge absolutely should not have happened. Terrible movies.
You say that the shark is huge, but in the other film it was just over 7 metres long, and you also say that it's powerful. It's true, but Bruce (the great white shark in the first film) was able to move the Orca on his own. And in France there are rumors that the shark you saw is Bruce's son.
thank you for reacting to my favorite shark movie. now that you've watched "jaws 2", i'd like to recommend "jaws 3" but that movie sucks. it's more of a 90 min commercial for that dolphine sea park or something. there is no horror but funny giggles from the dolphines. that's why i recommend you "jaws 4 : the revenge"
There is real shark footage provided by Ron and. Valerie Taylor who are Shark enthusiasts/experts in both Jaws 1 and Jaws 2. The fake shark footage and real shark footage is so well blended its hard to tell more often than not which is and isn’t real shark footage.
*JAWS 2* is much less graphic/gory compared to the original film. Both films were rated PG, but *JAWS* looked and felt like an R-rated film while this film seemed to be more like an intense PG-13 film (if that rating had existed in 1978). As such, Jaws 2 was correctly rated PG at the time while the original 1975 film should have been rated R. You don't see much when the shark attacks and kills its victims in this film, and none of the deaths felt anything like Quint's death from the first film, in my opinion. If you haven't yet, try to react to *JAWS 3-D* (1983), but be warned: it's even *MORE* graphic than the first film, especially in one particular scene. I won't spoil it, but it's not for the faint of heart. And, that scene makes my stomach queasy. That's all I'm going to say. Edit: Oh, yeah...I forgot. Jaws 3-D is *ALSO* rated PG, despite how graphic it is.
Ari and Denise Just want to say that I'm very excited to see your reaction to the Meg 2018 and the Meg 2 2023. ( I also enjoyed your reaction to jaws and deep blue sea 🦈🦈🦈🦈 )
@@OfficialMediaKnights It's great take all the time you need just want to say I loved your reaction to The other shark movies you've already watch on your channel !!! :)
The original cut they had the helicopter pilot fighting for his life verse the shark but they cut it since there was no character development regarding the pilot. I have sen the footage. Too bad it wasn’t included.
There is actually a deleted scene that shows the mayor was the one that didn't want to fire Brody. It doesn't really redeem the mayor but it does show that he was being quite a bit smarter in this one.
@@OfficialMediaKnights I also think it should have been kept in the final product; it would have gave a proper closure to the character of Larry Vaughn
The TV cut of Jaws 2 (shown in the 80s) had several deleted scenes added back into it in order to extend the running time for TV broadcast & to add in more TV commercials (including the mayor's apprehension scene, more scenes with Brody and his deputy Jeff, more scenes with the Brody family, a few scenes with the Mayor and his son, a few scenes of Ellen Brody arguing with her boss about her husband, more scenes of the divers underwaters before the shark attacks them & even more of the helicopter pilot trying to escape the shark underwater but to no avail unfortunately). ☹️
Supposedly, it was Roy Scheider who suggested that she make the most of the word "Shaaaaaarrrrk!" He was right. In the 1980s, Ann Dusenberry (Tina) co-starred with Lucille Ball in her final, short-lived sitcom, "Life with Lucy."
@@rashadwalker8218 Of the sequels it's the only one that actually is worthy. 3 is just terrible (Dennis Quaid said he was high AF on cocaine throughout filming) and The Revenge is just bad period.
The only JAWS sequel I count, 3 and 4 are trash I disregard. My only criticism of JAWS 2 is the attacks aren't as bloody or pack the shock value the first film had, otherwise a solid sequel.
The dead orca was also a jab against the 1977 horror movie titled Orca which was played up as "bigger than Jaws" and as I recall features an orca killing a shark. So Jaws 2 had a bit of one-upping going on.
Orcas are known for being able to kill sharks. However the movie Orca is about an Orca hunting a whaler for revenge. The movie is disturbing. I only watched it once when I was a kid. I got a little traumatised by the scene with the baby orca.
25:09 They go backwards into the water because if they went forward, they'd just fall into the boat!!! Duh! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 just kidding with ya!!😉😅😅 Have a great weekend!💜
@@OfficialMediaKnights There is an actual reason, my sister is into diving and I think its just easier to drop back like that with the heavy tank on your back
My wife and I scuba often. The tank is pretty heavy so you need it to hit the water first rather than land on top of you. You also stand a good chance of breaking the glass on your mask.
I’m so glad you did this reaction video to this movie. Marc Gilpin (Sean Brody) passed away a few days ago 😢. Bob (the one who says “thank you, thank you…” at the end on the rocks) was filmed to die. He wasn’t sure if he was going to live or die when watching the premiere. And the helicopter pilot and Marge (the girl who saved Sean and ended up getting eaten) were both originally supposed to live. This movie was a big part of my childhood 😉
It was such a great time! It’s interesting to see how they went on a different direction for the final product! Sad to hear about Marc Gilpin, may he RIP ❤️
@@OfficialMediaKnightsHey Jackie Chan and John Cenas movie Hidden Strike is on Netflix it is good and I watched the new Mission Impossible,Meg 2,The New Animated Resident Evil movie,Fast 10 for free on my Xbox Series X there all good.
Donna Wilkes the scream queen went on to make a really strange movie called Angel where she played a New York high school girl that was a hooker. No idea how that got green lit. Keith Gordon (Doug whom had the unfortunate puncture) went on to become the most famous with some 27 roles including directing 27 shows including Legion, Better Call Saul, Homeland and Fargo. I saw this when I was eight and fell madly in love with Donna Wilkes, and then could not sleep properly for months, waking my mum up crying imagining I was being eaten by Jaws.
Thank you for watching this! It’s not the first movie, but I still enjoy this sequel. You all don’t have to watch any other Jaws films though. I mean if you do, I’d watch the reactions, but I’m just warning you about the drop off in quality.
Haha thank you for the headsup! You are definitely not the only one that seems to feel that way, so we are definitely warned in case we do make reactions for the next ones!
@@OfficialMediaKnights I still recommend watching both Jaws 3 and The Revenge purely to just finish the series. Yes, neither is that good but at with The Revenge you get Michael Caine just being awesome as usual. Also, he has the best reaction to seeing a shark ever later on in the film. I still crack up at what he says.
Great reaction! The Marge death always gets me. Crazy how the death of a character that had so few lines in the film could have such a profound impact. And Tina's reaction to Eddie and the shaaaaark are such a great segment.
Yeah. That was such a let-down. I Really liked Marge! Jackie got on my nerves. I could not stand her, at all... always screaming so much! And just sits in the boat and does nothing , while the others, especially Marge, risk their lives to swim to the rocks or attempt to save Sean and each other ... Another reason I hated Jackie is that she could have gotten Mike into more trouble with his dad, knowing that he(Mike) was already grounded and ordered to stay on beach. " Do you always do what your parents tell you?"... Shut up, Jackie, you temptress!
Fun Fact, that I've seen no one mention in this comment section: The shark in this film is known as Brucette, the apparently 25ft mate of Bruce, the shark from the first one, although the sizes for the sharks in this series is unrealistic as the largest known Great White is about 20ft, with most females averaging around 16ft, and Bruce and Brucette had a pup (who entered the world before or during Brucette's electrocution) who will appear in JAWS: The Revenge, and is known as Vengeance, being the same length as his father (25ft), with the shark in JAWS: 3D, being his sister (who is not a pup of Brucette), named Brucetta, being 35ft.
Man what a great sequel! Something i love about older movies is how they rely on the viewers imagination to set up suspense and fear. They set up the scene and let your mine do the work, instead of over relaying on cgi or effects. And jaws 1 and 2 is a master class of this (Alien 1 too!). Again love your insight on the cinematography of the movie. I learn so much just watching you guys!
And the very best of horror nowadays have also kept that lesson in mind. Don’t show your monster so much! There’s no need when the imagination creates much much worse. We love seeing how these movies impacted so many movies that came after. Thank you so much for watching our reactions! 😀❤️
See Them(Giant Ants) and You Don't See Them Until 36 Minutes Into The Film(87 Minute Movie) You Hear Them, Long Before You See Them ... The Whole Less Is More Thing Applies Here!
At the time stamp 3:52. The black hair guy on the right in the glasses is the same actor that played the lead character Arnold “Arnie” Cunningham in John Carpenter’s Christine. Another amazing movie that has aged perfectly and still ranks in the top tier of psychological thriller horror. If you haven’t reacted to Christine please do you will love it.
@@OfficialMediaKnights yes!! The Shallows was utterly incredible and I will probably never watch it again because it's too realistic, but it was EPIC!
For sure! He topped jaws in the sequel. I have the Lp and it is so profound. Like John Williams was very motivated to do a great job in this second jaws.
@@eirikrdberg1161 It's funny that the JAWS 2 score on LP is more sought after than the first movie. I remember borrowing it from the library in the early 80's. What's also funny, Tina actually looks like she's trying to help Eddie on the cover, yet not so much in the movie.
I know that a lot of people didn't like the sequels to the original very much, but i loved all of them. The first is definitely the best, but I found all of them enjoyable. I suggest you watch them and make up your own mind. Some people love, some don't. 🙂
I’m from an archipelago. People live on islands. Plenty of travel on boats all around. This movie put me off learning to sail forever. I require a steel hull propelled by engines on any watercraft.
29:09 It wasn't shown in the reaction but when Tina screams "Shark!" it was the most chilling line in the movie because it 100% confirms Brody's suspicions.
I grew up watching all of the Jaws movies. I was born in 76 so the only one I actually saw in the theater was part 4 (The Revenge) as my parents didn't want to take me to the 3rd (even though I'd seen the first two) but they let my older brother take me to the 4th. This one is the best of the sequels. As a kid I loved it because it had less blood than the first one. As an adult I came to appreciate the psychological aspect of it. Brody really is falling apart throughout this film showing just how much the events of the first film destroyed him. That gets missed by so many people. I truly think that plays a bigger part to this story than the attacks themselves. 3 and 4 are not great movies but may be fun for you guys to watch just to complete the saga. 3 would be great if you can find a 3D version of it (that's how it was originally made). 4 is a masterclass on how to ruin a good thing...
They go backwards for 3 reasons. 1. Reason is because you can hold onto your equipment or mask and gear, let the tanks do their work. dropping forward, the water will force items in your hand to release or get wrecked. You can do what is called the walk in drop, this is done on larger boats and the diver only has to walk in slowly. The Large boat will have a platform near water level, and you just take a long step off. Some smaller boats will have a aft foot ledge, and you can do a walk off there. 2. it prevents your lines from getting tangled from needle dropping from feet to head or head first on fast drops. 3. The 3rd reason is your tank and any other items you have are attached to your back. This is where all the weight is, diving from another position other then the back will force the first part of your body that hit the water~ (to support all the weight first, as you enter the water before your equipment does). Remember water has mass! Think about jumping only 2 to 3 feet down off of something but with a back pack on that weighs 29lbs, times this by 2 if you have 2 tanks. Now nothing is stopping you from jumping anyway you want to, but you risk losing items and might get impact pains. Let the heavy tanks do the work, and get you down in the water with everything you brought. The Guy with the under water camera that died in the start, did not jump head first with his camera. = he went in backwards to maintain all his equipment. "And Jaws taught him another kind of lesson" lol
The actress who played the beauty queen Tina who was found alone and hysterical on the boat after her boyfriend was killed, later married Brad Fiedel, the composer of the scores for the first two 'Terminator' films, among others.
So the 1st Jaws you don't see the shark so much is because it kept breaking down due to the cold water at Martha's Vineyard. They totally relied on the music & the fin. Spielberg once said they prayed that it would be enough for the audience. Jaws was considered the 1st "Summer Blockbuster"
And it was! It forced the team to get creative and now so many horror films try to show less because of it! It’s about the effectiveness of the story not just having your monster on screen at all times! What a movie 😃
The shark was never scheduled to be used for the first half of Jaws. It was hidden by design. It only broke down out at sea for the Orca based scenes. They could never have used Bruce in the chest to waist deep water where they filmed the beach attack scenes, and they were all filmed in May and June 1974 before Bruce was even scheduled to be used for its first scene in July.
I think this was a good sequel to the original Jaws. It had a fresh look with the later part revolving around the younger troup of actors, but good enough to reproduce the fear and suspense. The addition of the young girls at the time did not escape my notice. Also RIP Marc Gilpin, sad to hear your passing.
I know a lot of people are not fans of Jaws 3 and 4, but I still find them worth watching if anything for the storyline. Jaws 3 focuses on the relationship of the brothers Michael and Shawn as adults and Jaws 4 gives Mrs. Brodie an experience with the shark. Though they are definitely low budget and cheesy, I still find the nostalgia worth the watch. I’d love to see your reactions if you choose to finish out the series.
So many good to great films in 1978. Though this highly anticipated sequel didn't quite make the colossal money that the original did, it still had people in line and constantly sold-out (the better days of single screen theaters-the movie engagements lasted longer and had better chances of profit and to ring out the last money out of people before it ended it's run before going to cable tv and rights sold to regular network television, they paired it as a double bill with the original). This and Omen 2 (released a few weeks before this one that summer) pretty much started the summer sequel blockbusters, if not sequels in general.
Interesting point about the power line underwater. That's common because in this modern time, we have fiber optic cable installed beneath the sea. Those cables now provide every country with Internet access.
Fun fact which is explained in the Jaws 2 behind the scenes video is that the Jaws 2 mechanical sharks are basically the same mechanical sharks from the original Jaws with new mouths.
I’ve been scuba diving in Mexico. It’s awesome would love to do again. Could be wrong but I think tipping backwards into the water is to avoid jumping and the tank on your back catching the edge of the boat.
Roy Scheider did not want to make Jaws 2. But he had a multi-movie deal with the movie studio after Jaws 1, and he walked off the set of one of those movies, putting himself in breach of contract. The movie studio used that as leverage, telling him something like, "We don't have to go to court, we can forget all about this if you just agree to do Jaws 2." So he did. But he apparently had terrible fights with the director during filming. None of that shows up on camera, though. Jaws 2 turned out to be a pretty respectable sequel, mostly because of Roy Scheider's presence and fine performance.
25:03 The diver that says "let's buddy up and drop" was former Navy SEAL Frank Sparks. He doubled the Richard Dreyfuss Hooper character as a diver in the original Jaws both in the cage and under Ben Gardner's boat. He also played one, if not, both of the divers in the beginning as well if I'm not mistaken.
I'm a PADI certified rescue diver with multiple certifications for deep dive (130 feet), underwater navigation, and night diving, among others. The roll back into the water is for small boats, just because jumping isn't an option due to the side walls. On a large vessel with a jump platform you jump in feet first. I've been at 115 feet with small sharks (6-7 feet) swimming all around me and the other divers. My very first open ocean dive, at 85 feet, I got.within 15 feet of a 16 foot female Sand Tiger shark. Scuba diving is incredibly fun!
Great reaction you two...Like others I say Jaws 2 is highly underrated but enjoyable. It is up to you guys if you want to view the 3rd film (Jaws 3-D) or not (...if you watch it in 3-D as it was filmed and intened, you might get some enjoyment out of it but if you just watch it in standard normal 2D you might not as much). It does have a strong cast though - Dennis Quaid, Louis Gossett Jr., Bess Armstrong, Simon MacCorkindale, John Putch & a young (pre Back To The Future) Lea Thompson, in her big screen debut. The film was directed by Joe Alves (who was the production designer on Jaws 1 & 2). Like a lot of other people may say, you'd be best to avoid the last film in the franchise (Jaws: The Revenge) is truly both illogical (makes very little sense) and awful cash grab (unless you enjoy 'so bad it's good' kind of movies and plan to 'riff' on it, it isn't really worth watching). It got a very low 3.0 out if 10 on IMDB (Internet Movie DataBase).
Thank you so much for watching this with us! It means the world. Still unsure if we’ll be watching the rest since we haven’t heard many good things about them 😄
Donna Wilkes is the actress with THE scream in Jaws 2- character named Jackie, I believe. Ann Dusenberry, as Tina, had the 2nd most memorable .."Shhaarrrk"! scene, after boyfriend Eddie's demise.
Divers go in backwards to keep their masks on. You'll see they hold it in place, too- but if they jumped in, it'd fly off or smack them in the face. This is actually one of the rare worthy sequels. Glad you enjoyed!
Jaws 2 was absolutely a brillaint sequel to the original steven speilberg jaws 1975. The child actor mark gilpin who played sean brody and he is the younger brother of actresses april and perri gilpin he was just brilliant actor. But i am very sad to hear that mark gilpin is no more 😢😭may he rest in peace god bless him
Original Jaws will always win, but I do think this is a good sequel and I actually love Jaws 3!! I don't know why they get so much hate, though I have to say that I do agree when it comes to the fourth film. Jaws 3 is a fun time though and I definitely recommend it! They did attempt some 3D and that part isnt the best, but otherwise I think its great!
I dived for years here in South Australia, have been in the water with sharks when I worked in Pt Lincoln as a Diver on the tuna farms lucky non of them were Great Whites, however I was in a three man dive team and a couple of times there were whites in the cages the biggest was 15 feet the smallest 11, we had to kill a 12 foot female as we couldn't get her out of the cage and when we hoisted her onto the boat she weighed a ton. They are very impressive creatures when you see them close up, nice reaction, by the way a lot of the footage in the first Jaws was filmed at Dangerous Reef of Pt Lincoln by a famous Aussie Diving couple, Ron and Valerie Taylor. Loved Jaws 1 & 2 saw them at the Cinema as a kid, they freaked me out and stopped me from spearfishing for a while.
I was almost 12 when this came out (same day as Grease). I saw this for the first time on July 4, 1978. I saw this before seeing the original, which I saw the following year. My mother wouldn't let me see Jaws in 1975 because it was too gory. When I saw this the first time, I slumped in my seat when the shark almost got Mike.
I love this movie, brings me so many great childhood memories, I was like 8 or years old when I first saw it. My mom was a nurse and she just to take care of a movie theater owner's grandmother. This was my first Jaws movie and the one that has a special place in my heart.
Scuba divers tip backward out of a boat to perform a backward roll entry into the water for a few reasons, including: Safety A backward roll protects the boat from excessive rocking, which can cause other divers to fall and damage their gear. Injury prevention Jumping into the water feet first or head first can cause injury to your joints or from loose gear. Stability A backward roll entry is often used on smaller vessels, which can be shaken up by divers standing on the gunwale.
I was a young kid when these movies came out and my sister and I begged our parents to take us to see them in the theater and my mom was against it but our dad took us so when jaws 3 came out my sister and I convinced my mom that it wasn’t so bad. Since my dad was away for TDY with the Air Force at the time our mom grudgingly took us. It happened to be Jaws 3 in 3D and to this day my mom hasn’t forgotten or forgiven us!
The only treatment for the bends is recompression, which involves placing the patient in a hyperbaric chamber to receive 100% oxygen. This treatment reverses the pressure changes that caused gas bubbles to form in the blood, allowing the nitrogen to be released safely.
Brilliant reaction. I love how you both appreciated how good this sequel is - most just dismiss it because its not Speilberg or the original. Unfortunately, Marc Gilpin - the little kid in the red who played Sean Brody - died recently of cancer.
I did some research on the cast and found out that the little boy that played Shawn has passed away along with the little girl that pointed out the Shark tower , they were brother and sister . Also one of the teen girls was the eldest sister but is alive and well ! Sad to find out that the youngest cast members passed away ! R.I.P.
Fun Fact: Roy Scheider hated filming Jaws 2. He loved doing the first part with Spielberg. He was no longer available for all other parts, which unfortunately became worse and worse.
In my head I always imagined that Chief Brody was reinstated as the Chief, after dealing with the power getting knocked out at Amity Island, and a few years later ran for Mayor. Thus ending Larry Vaughn's reign of negligence, and then promotes Leonard Hendricks to Chief, who then starts Amity Island's first publicly funded Shark Spotter program.
Len Peterson should have been impeached and thrown out of the town of selectpersons. what a jerk! I was glad when Mrs. Brody chewed him out. I thought he was worse than the mayor!
@@TheSoleProprietor I got one better for ya! ... ahem... After being ostracized by the local inhabitants of Amity Island, Len Peterson ran far from the coast and headed to a lesser known place called Indian Springs, near the pleasant waters of Lost River Lake. There he met another incompetent, and money-hungry business owner named Buck Gardner who liked Len's ideas to promote a large commercial event by stealing other resort's attractions and passing them off as their own. Buck reminded Len so much of Larry, that they soon became fast friends, but then before the biggest day of their venture a phone call came in warning the two of a school of mutant piranha that escaped from a government facility up river. Len and Buck found the warning humorous at best, and scandalous at worst. Len warned Buck that warning the guests of such a probability would ruin the resort's future forever, so they ignored the warnings and continued with the event. Shortly after this discussion though, it was reported that Len Peterson was eaten alive by the very same killer piranhas that he discouraged Buck from concerning himself with. The resort never reopened.
13:49 R.I.P. Murray Hamilton, who was battling lung cancer at the time this was being filmed. He eventually died in 1986. Fun Fact about him. Jaws takes place on Amity Island...Hamilton also starred in "The Amityville Horror" in 1979.
25:06 Divers go into the water backwards because it keeps Equipment In Check. If you were to dive forward, the force of the impact might knock loose this and other equipment. By diving backwards, assuming you do it correctly, you ensure that you don't enter the water without equipment. I've also seen an episode of "Survivor" when Michael Skupin (one of the contestants) dove into the water normally (face first), the glass of the goggles shattered and it ended up cutting his face up a bit.
You know - we definitely understand that feeling of needing to just take a break. And it truly means the world to us that you came to our videos and that we got to contribute even just a little bit to a nice day for you! Hope you got some good rest and enjoyed your day!!
These guys do reaction videos right. No 10 minute intro, no 20 minute outro with thoughts. Just straight to the point. As to divers diving backwards off boats, that's for movies. It's rarely ever used in real life. I got certified in 2022 and my dive instructor was mocking movies about it. Normally you do what's called a giant stride where you stand at the edge of the boat and lift one foot as far away from the boat as possible over the water and let gravity do the rest. Did that four times when I went diving in Hawaii.
One of the best sequels ever , underrated movie, Chief Brody is a boss on this one. Next Jaws 3 another great movie underrated as well. And if you can react also to the fan film Jaws returns 2021.
It's called Jaws WeMake and is literally the entire film recreated by fans performing different scenes and then edited together. Therefore the actors change for every scene. But you can see the love and attention to recreate it. As film fans you will appreciate it. Bonus fact, the weatherman on the beach in the WeMake is played an actual British weatherman/meteorologist who happens to be a huge Jaws fan - Thomas Schafernaker.
I always loved and respected how these movies never made the mother/wife Naggy and insufferable towards chief Brody. As most movies do today towards their prospective husbands. Rather an understanding and supportive wife. The ideal of true feminitity.
That's so true, it's truly frustrating how many writers have their women characters so two-dimensional. We also thoroughly enjoyed how organic and respectful the relationship was in this!
This is the only movie I've ever seen to adequately make the viewer feel the main characters ptsd, in the first movie we were rooting for the team and town but this movie succeeds in rooting for Brody to clear his name

The Shallows is a good shark movie if you haven’t seen it.
You guys should watch Sphere (1998), you're gonna love it!
@andymason3555 adding it to our list! Been hearing about this film!
@tacocatvlogs I’m (Ari) absolutely in love with the stories of what once lived in the seas and what could still be hidden deep down! Thank you for sharing this anecdote! 😃
This movie has always had a special place in my heart because my grandpa was one of the people who worked on the shark
That’s so cool.❤🦈❤
That's awesome! Glad your GPA rocked❤
Bob Mattey?
The screams from the teens are so raw and real. Jaws 2 is definitely an underrated sequel. Lucy got a close shave.
It makes you think how many "boating accidents" did Amity have before the first movie!
Dude that one girl who was screaming the whole time traumatized was insanely good acting lol it looked like it hurt to sell that act 👏👏👏
Eddy and Tina’s shark attack is still one of the best . It was my fave film when I was 12 and went to see it at the movies
The orca being mauled was a sort of joke about Orca, a jaws-like movie. Worth checking out, the orca gets in the house. Bonkers!
This is actually, in my opinion, one of the best sequels ever!
Who else thought, when the mayor was waving to his kid on the boat, he was waving 'bye-bye, son!' because the kid was about to become a shark snack!?
Glad you enjoyed JAWS 2 this much; it didn't get much love for some years actually. Can add that actor Gary Dubin, who was the ill-fated Eddiev(Tina's boyfriend) passed away several years ago😢
Enjoy your channel -- looking forward to more reactions frpm you.😊
I personally always liked Jaws 2 more than the original Jaws. I had nightmares as a kid from TINA SCREAMING the entire last 1/2 hour of the movie. And I related more to Jaws 2 because of the young cast.
A very worthy sequel. By the way, the boy who plays Sean Brody in this one, Marc Gilpin, just passed away a week or so ago of brain cancer. He was 56.
The scuba divers fall backward because if they fall forward, they'd still be in the boat.
That's a good good movie it's quite interesting😊
They tip backwards going into the water because if they tipped forward, they’d still be in the boat. 😂
was going to say the exact same thing
The reason you fall backwards to go into the water instead of forward is because, if you fell forward, you would still be in the boat.
Ah I see 😂😂😂
Surprisingly good sequel.
To answer your question about why divers fall backwards. It's because if they fell forward they would still be in the boat 😅
😂😂
They do that because of the weight of the scuba tank . It is heavy
There is real shark footage provided by Ron and. Valerie Taylor who are Shark enthusiasts/experts in both Jaws 1 and Jaws 2. The fake shark footage and real shark footage is so well blended its hard to tell more often than not which is and isn’t real shark footage.
This movie was a rinse and repeat in my opinion but it’s still good. 6.5/10
Great reaction u have a new subscriber
Ari and Denise Just want to say that I'm very excited to see your reaction to the Meg 2018 and the Meg 2 2023.
( I also enjoyed your reaction to jaws and deep blue sea 🦈🦈🦈🦈 )
Haha thank youuu!! Working on it now, you should get it very soon!
@@OfficialMediaKnights It's great take all the time you need just want to say I loved your reaction to The other shark movies you've already watch on your channel !!! :)
The shark in part 1 gave birth to three babies, so part 1 mommy part two baby. Part 3 baby part 4 last baby.
The original cut they had the helicopter pilot fighting for his life verse the shark but they cut it since there was no character development regarding the pilot. I have sen the footage. Too bad it wasn’t included.
One of my favorite movie franchises. Although 1 and 2 were my favorite, 3 is ok and 4 is a great way to end the series of movies. Check them out
There is actually a deleted scene that shows the mayor was the one that didn't want to fire Brody. It doesn't really redeem the mayor but it does show that he was being quite a bit smarter in this one.
Ohhhh no way?! They should have kept that in, it would have at least helped to begin redeeming the mayor!
@@OfficialMediaKnights I also think it should have been kept in the final product; it would have gave a proper closure to the character of Larry Vaughn
Agreed! Such a shame when they edit out scenes that could add a lot of context to the stories unanswered questions
@@OfficialMediaKnights ruclips.net/video/QGFBWEaIHGQ/видео.html
The TV cut of Jaws 2 (shown in the 80s) had several deleted scenes added back into it in order to extend the running time for TV broadcast & to add in more TV commercials (including the mayor's apprehension scene, more scenes with Brody and his deputy Jeff, more scenes with the Brody family, a few scenes with the Mayor and his son, a few scenes of Ellen Brody arguing with her boss about her husband, more scenes of the divers underwaters before the shark attacks them & even more of the helicopter pilot trying to escape the shark underwater but to no avail unfortunately). ☹️
Not gonna lie as a kid watching Jaws 2 that moment when Tina was frantic and screamed out “SHARK!!” use to terrify the hell out of me.
Oooffff that scream gave us chills!!!
@@OfficialMediaKnights - It still makes me shiver today after seeing the movie at least 10 times over the years.
She did hysterical very well. That actress later married Brad Fiedel, composer of the scores for the first two 'Terminator' films.
Not... the best acting there.
Highly underrated sequel. All of the Jaws sequels absolutely do not need to exist. But they hit the nail on the head with this one.
We really enjoyed this one, it happened to be much more violent than we expected 😂 It felt more like a monster flick, which we are always game for!
Glad u said that because alot of reactors don't watch any of them besides the first one ...this one holds up well.
I saw this film as a child before seeing the original. I instantly loved it.
Whaaat, there was an orca movie?! That's hilarious that they did that 😂
@@OfficialMediaKnights Yeah. Was kind of a disturbing premise though. So fair warning if you guys pick it up.
Orcas are known for being able to kill sharks. However the movie Orca is about an Orca hunting a whaler for revenge. The movie is disturbing. I only watched it once when I was a kid. I got a little traumatised by the scene with the baby orca.
Orca was a btter Movie then this, Richard Harris is a amazing Actor.
@@OfficialMediaKnights Orca was an excellent movie!! Totally worth watching

AHAHAHAHAH oh lordy 😂 that is very true!
Thanks for the awesome comment, this made us chuckle! Have a great weekend as well 💜
@@OfficialMediaKnights There is an actual reason, my sister is into diving and I think its just easier to drop back like that with the heavy tank on your back
My wife and I scuba often.

@@alucard624 Revenge is worth watching both for Michael Caine and for how BatSh@t the plot gets with the Demonic Ghost Shark

go for Jaws 3, at the very least youll get a few laughs. but stop there. life is too short to watch Jaws 4
Great reaction! The Marge death always gets me. Crazy how the death of a character that had so few lines in the film could have such a profound impact. And Tina's reaction to Eddie and the shaaaaark are such a great segment.
Yes Marge's death was so impactful. The way the shark just scoops her up was repulsive and terrifying!

Whaaat, that's so cool!! Sharks are such incredible creatures, they're definitely worth obsessing over!!
At the time stamp 3:52. The black hair guy on the right in the glasses is the same actor that played the lead character Arnold “Arnie” Cunningham in John Carpenter’s Christine. John Williams did an excellent job of matching the original Jaws score with new music to suit the first Jaws sequel.
@@clarencepeterson8646 "lyrical score"? There are no lyrics. It's all music.
I know that a lot of people didn't like the sequels to the original very much, but i loved all of them. The first is definitely the best, but I found all of them enjoyable. I suggest you watch them and make up your own mind. Some people love, some don't. 🙂
btw, joking aside, the divers go backwards into the water because of the weight of their equipment, so you dont flip over, is easyer.
That makes sense!! It's probably easier to balance yourself in the water that way! Thanks for the explanation after that fantastic joke 😂
RIP to Marc Gilpin that played Sean- he passed away a little over a week ago from brain cancer.
The one who played sean the youngest son of chief brody in this film recently passed away in his 50s
That is sad to hear, may he RIP❤️
So sad
I'm glad to see more Jaws 2 reactions. It's not a patch on the original but it's bloody good as far as sequels go.
Wow thank you for such an insightful answer! It means the world to us that you took the time to explain. Jaws definitely taught the poor guy a lesson!
And, if you roll forward, you roll into the boat. 😉
@@brettlynam5048 lol, i was hoping they know not to do that lol :) Although that was would a funny video, if one exists..
@@brettlynam5048I scoured the comments just to find this old joke. If you hadn't said it, I would have lol
That and the salt in the water as they had only tested the shark in a fresh water pool.
It really is such a fun sequel! It's kinda crazy to see how, what is so normal to us now, has started with these classics!
Interesting point about the power line underwater. That's common because in this modern time, we have fiber optic cable installed beneath the sea. Those cables now provide every country with Internet access.
@13:11..."Sharks don't take things personally, Mr. Brody"....It sounds like this one does

That's my high school band❣️ Parts of this movie was filmed on our beach..
31:41, guy in the hat is Billy Van Zandt, brother of Springsteen's "Little Steven" Van Zandt.
Still unsure if we’ll be watching the rest since we haven’t heard many good things about them 😄
I remember thinking Jaws 4 was much better than Jaws 3
@@OfficialMediaKnights You should watch them anyway just so you can say you've seen the whole series like all of us did when they first came out.
@@OfficialMediaKnights. You should watch them. For reasons already stated AND hidden market on RUclips: bad movie reactions.
It is
Fabulous sequel.
And yes, you will never beat a teenage girl in a scary 70s movie - best screamers EVER! 😂❤
Haahha seriously though, these girls have some pipes!!
Nah, Fay Wray in King Kong 1933 is the all time champion screamer. She was known as the original scream queen. ✌️
Donna Wilkes is the actress with THE scream in Jaws 2- character named Jackie, I believe. Ann Dusenberry, as Tina, had the 2nd most memorable .."Shhaarrrk"! scene, after boyfriend Eddie's demise.
@@goodowner5000👍👍👍
Imagine if sharks could grin at times like this.
Aw that's so awesome!! It's definitely such a fun ride and we love hearing stories like these so thank you for sharing!!
Scuba divers tip backward out of a boat to perform a backward roll entry into the water for a few reasons, including:
Safety
A backward roll protects the boat from excessive rocking, which can cause other divers to fall and damage their gear.
Injury prevention
Jumping into the water feet first or head first can cause injury to your joints or from loose gear.
Stability
A backward roll entry is often used on smaller vessels, which can be shaken up by divers standing on the gunwale.
Did you know about the the original Mike Brody, played by Chris Rebello? He died of of a heart attack in 2000.
@TheSoleProprietor No I didn't. That's terrible. The pair of them were far too young to pass away. R.I.P to them both.
Why is it that I think that this family is either cursed or haunted, makes you wonder why he is scared of the water.🤔
Lol seriously, it's gotta be some kinda curse at this point, they always wind up right in the middle of these attacks!
I did some research on the cast and found out that the little boy that played Shawn has passed away along with the little girl that pointed out the Shark tower , they were brother and sister . Also one of the teen girls was the eldest sister but is alive and well ! Sad to find out that the youngest cast members passed away ! R.I.P.
You guys should do more Jaws reaction
Fun Fact: Roy Scheider hated filming Jaws 2. He loved doing the first part with Spielberg. He was no longer available for all other parts, which unfortunately became worse and worse.
He only did it because he made a deal to get out of his contract with Universal Studios at the time
I like all 3 of the Jaws films and I can't wait for you guys to react to Jaws 3
What about Jaws 4?
So happy you Saw that !!!! Jaws 2 IS a décent sequel !
Been watching your videos. I needed to take a life break today, thanks for your content. I needed to binge watch something! Appreciate it.
This was such a great sequel, it gave us so much more of Jaws which is always fun!! Didn't know about the fan film, thanks for the recommendation!!
@@DroppingNoEaves the one i was talking about its no that one, but jaws returns 2021 short movie.
@@ruimichael18 oh I missed that. I'll have to check it out.
I still question why the shark slammed Eddie against the boat. Was it trying to knock him out to kill easier? Or just tossing him around for play lmao
