@KevKevAllen, you likely used a sock loom that had a large gauge, not one really meant to do fine socks. Sock looms come in many sizes for babies through large men, and many gauges super-fine through worsted. You should have one with the appropriate GAUGE and number of pegs. You can turn a heel (and toe) in a heartbeat with these looms, no fiddling with four needles. You can do ribbing just as easily and quickly for the cuff. The METHOD for doing socks is important, also - go to one of Purlingsprite's videos on how to turn the heel so there are NO HOLES. If no one showed you this, it's no wonder you were disappointed. But there great fun if you select the right size, gauge, and method!
I just purchased this loom at Spin Rite in Listowel Ontario,it is light and not as clumbersome by the way I wee it. cant wait to try, now cant wait to get looming socks
Is it possible to order the written instructions for making the sock? I already have a sock loom very similar to this one. But, the sock looks easier and quicker with this pattern. Thank you!
Asredbirdy the reason why there are 3 on 1 is to hold the string in place I also do this its so the string doesn't undo it's self and you do the same thing you do with the pegs with 2 strings you just bring both over and leave one
We had trouble finding these looms in craft shops we got one and are excellent why shops say that there no cal. l for them but are rough we found ours in a small wool shop in castle ford and are verh
