    Right off the bat, you cleared up two points of confusion for me! I had no idea I could pull up the spool pin and was wondering why they put such a short pin in! DUH! I have actually been sewing with this machine for a couple of months now...with the pin down, LOL. The second thing that was throwing me was whether to put the thread under the small metal bar on the top of the machine, or leave it over. I've been struggling to put it under. It doesn't do any harm having it that way...but it's frustrating to do it! I had the rest of it right, thank heavens! You probably won't believe this, given my amateur mistakes, but I've been sewing since I was six and making my clothes since age 12. Of course, machines were a lot different back then...I'm 74 now...but I've learned two valuable lessons here. 1) You're never too old to learn (LOL), and 2) It pays to be internet savvy. The biggest lesson, however, is to always, always, watch tutorials by April before attempting anything new :) Thank you for being here!

    I’ve been sewing on this machine for over a year, and for some reason today I am having so much trouble getting it threaded and having the two threads work together. You have taught me more about my machine in this video than I’ve ever known. I learned about six new things, just from this video.You’re a fantastic teacher and I hope you keep making videos. Also brother sewing machines should be paying you….. because you are the best instructor I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much.

    Your video was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I took up sewing at age 10 and now 74 but there were years and years of gaps through my journey A few machines had bobbins jamming to the point of tossing them out. When I got this new machine a year ago and anxiety kept me from trying it. a friend asked if I could hem her curtains. The real reason it decided today to bite the bullet. Right off the bat I could not figure out how to thread I was so gravely disappointed. You made it simple and easy. I have subscribed. You should be a teacher.

    GREAT close-up views! Thank you. I haven't used a sewing machine since I was in my 40s and now, almost 40 years later, I found this most helpful. I especially liked the close-up of that little wire "spring" within the thread-guide groove. Very clear directions. Nice voice btw!

    Thank you much, my mom doesn't let me use her other machine and this simple tutorial helped a lot with the brother. I had to turn the handle a few times to get my bobing to come through it worked perfectly. Thank you dor making it easy to follow.

  • @sandi9659
    @sandi9659 Год назад

    Hey again! Once again you saved me! Got lower threaded & it wouldn't pull up! I knew I followed your instructions exactly, but it was the bobbin. When I got my flashlight I could see right away that the end of the thread was just laying there on top off the bobbin, so I watched your bobbin threading tutorial, & prayed! I have to use a needle threader, so all this takes a while,but it pulled up s smooth as a whistle. Now I start with a straight hem. Love yea, cool,calm April!!

    Absolutely THE BEST VIDEOS ON this machine on RUclips , Tysm, I’ve watched a few..and still felt lost before coming across your directions which is so very clear, easy to follow and just takes the whole stress of setting up the machine away. The way you show details in every step is greatly appreciated. I’m very petite and looking forward to tailoring my own clothes as paying for that service adds up when basically everything you buy needs to be tailored.
