My dad always wanted a vr4 and almost bought one some 20 years ago take good care of her and KEEP HER don't mod her just get the 1999 body kit and daily her that would just look clean and you save money and DON"T SELL THE SILVER ECLIPSE. Keep the good man and if you need a break take one and start to invest your money. Everything happens for a reason, got it for a reason, and keep all your cars. Don't forget where you started like others stay humble

i don't see the reason to build a 2nd eclipse when you have 1 of the sickest GSX's on youtube. VR4 is rare and nobody is building one currently, expand not replicate IMO.

Test drove one of those back in in 2001 at a Mitsubishi dealership in Pomona. Thing was a blast to drive. Nice pick up. Congrats 🙌🏼

Bro keep this gem my man. I absolutely love mine. I’ve had it 5 years now. Got it in high school and made it my project since then. Even if you’ve got other builds to prioritize just keep it and do the maintenance required for it and just keep it clean. It’s just an asset that will be accruing value in your garage. Don’t sell it bro. 9 times out of 10 you’re gonna regret it. Save this beautiful Japanese machine!
The VR-4 was a great car. I had a '91 and a '95. Your wheels look like they came from a '94. In '95 they switched to a 7 spoke chrome 18" wheel.
That is an awesome car! I just found a 91 VR4 I bought 5 days ago! From my knowledge, I would keep the car for sure.

I think the vr4 would bring alot more viewers to the channel. I get the Porsche build cause its Hella dope but the eye candy is definitely that vr4 and if you got it for a good deal id hold onto it till the market gets bigger

My dad had one of these and I fell inlove with it but sadly he passed and we had to sell it for the funeral 😔
He loved that car too and spent alot of money on a dumpvalve, exhaust system and new externals making it sound soo nice 😍 absolutely beautiful
LOVE the VR-4 bro you have to keep it and make it super clean. I had a 1995 base 3KGT in high school and college and the VR-4 was my DREAM CAR! Btw, that looks like an OEM Evo 8/9 MR shift nob.
Keep that vr4 boy!! A friend of mine has been looking for a clean car that runs for a good price for 3yrs and they are only going up. That german turd should be sold if anything but that's just my opinion.

That stock boost gauge isn’t actually a boost gauge 😅 it’s more like a voltmeter. But otherwise they’re great cars if maintained properly. I’ve had my 91 VR4 for about 6 years now still runs great

Had to comment again real quick, but I started watching recently because I’ve been thinking about getting an eclipse too. But you definitely got a sub for life if you end up keeping the 3000gt. Not many people have them or upload too much content, you’d be one of the more popular youtubers building one. I say keep it because of what it is and the potential, and there is a demand for it. Put it at the end of the line for now and see how you like it and check out some other 3000gt builds for some inspiration

keep the VR4, im on my 5th one lol love it. I daily'd a fwd-TT with a non turbo trans, took it to track and road trips and held well. except the broken axle (given lol), im a big mitsu fan and miss my 2 starions that i had to let go. good luck ! glad to see this on your channel.

If you can afford to i would keep it and store it away to focus on your other builds. They are one of the 90s Japanese legends and it would be a killer build for the channel. You do what you gotta do though sometimes and if it would make the Porsche build sicker then you know what to do.
You are lucky to have the 3000GT. This car deserves to be kept and taken care of. Now you just need a 7th, 8th, or 9th gen Mitsubishi Galant lol. The Galant (9th gen Ralliart) and 3000GT/GTO are my favorite Mitsubishi vehicles 😄
As of right now, if I was in your shoes: Garage the silver DSM, maybe take it out for a ride every now and then. Wether it be on or off camera. The Evo obviously in at your house still. Keep it there for a while until everything is sorted with it. White DSM make it driveable, checked up on, mod the way you want, wether it be a turbo setup and visuals, or just as naturally aspirated and visuals. (Overall the costs will be less of all the other builds I assume). The Porsche obviously still at Bisimoto. Remains there, do what you can with it without breaking head over heels and rush it. Same for the other builds obviously. And finally keep the VR4. It needs some love, do what's important to keep it running good. But it's a good backup for the white DSM if you are working on that one so you don't have to worry about having a daily driver. Or you can always store it and go take your time with it. Since you at least got a VR4 which are so rare. Swap places with the Evo after everything is sorted is also an option.
Just my 2 cents. I'm not sure how it goes with costs etc for owning a car in the US so this might all be not doable. Best of luck!

I said it on your last vid on this car man, but I can’t reiterate enough. Throtl’s build of a 3000GT was amazing. The things they did with that platform were cool and I loved the end look. Just mean looking with no real body work done other than refreshing the paint. If it was me, I’d keep it. Yeah it’s going to make things difficult in the near term, but you said it yourself. If you let it go now, you probably won’t see another one ever.

Definitely change that timing belt, tensioner, Idler pulleys, water pump, and fluid with all genuine Mitsubishi parts. Your engine depends on it. And check the oil pan for a dent where past mechanics placed the jack not knowing that there is zero clearance between the oil pan and oil pickup. If the pan is dented don’t drive it anymore until you drop the transfer case, down pipe, and hammer out the dent in the pan. These 2 things are the most important and very first things you need to do. The engine bearings can be starved of oil under load and the gauges will still show you normal oil pressure.
Those 2 things I told you about are the kiss of death for our cars. Definitely needs to be addressed ASAP

If I were you I'd keep it. You can really do alot with it. I'm picking up a stealth rt turbo. Same car but needs alot of work.
Don’t understand why Mitsubishi gets the hate. The 3000GT VR-4, Lancer EVO, Galant VR-4, and DSM Eclipse GSX are some pretty amazing cars. Of course the EVO is in its own league when we speak of the Bishi cars but cmon people act like Mitsubishi has done nothing.

Firstly, the ECUs age in VR4s, it has to do with capacitors that go bad. On a good day, my VR4 starts almost instantly, very little crank time. Look into that issue primarily. Third gear of your transmission is likely bad because of the synchro gears inside. They can be replaced for a few hundred dollars, if you rebuild the trans yourself like I did. You look like you need new shifter bushings, pull up the boot, and take a look. The shifter in my 93 has absolutely no play, it should be spring loaded, and very solid. Those are some things that might make the car more drivable.

98 is the rarest year. The 99's are more looked for due to the styling update but 98's are the rarest.
I have a black 94 with no sunroof. which is uncommon also. I'd have to look up the numbers but a black 98 with no sunroof. There were most likely less then 10 made.
Definitely keep it man , I would say it probably needs a tune or something along those lines because it shouldn't be eating gas like that. I had a daily and it was pretty decent on gas while it's stock, love the vids man keep it up
It’s a 6g72t and the transmission is definitely gonna need some tlc after sitting, I bought mine after it sat and I had to work on mine some. Also there are different specs of this car you need to find out what yours is before buying parts. There is the fed spec and the Cali spec.
Full detailing & upkeep.. Keep it in storage for 15 years 😜

prime time for these were like 7-8 years ago, now the most desirable jdm parts are so hard to find and few and far between. Always have loved the 3kVR4's though.

@@MiguelDsm yeah still plenty of diehards for the chassis out there but it sucks because a majority the companies or individuals who hold parts or still make parts for them have very shady business practices, from both the performance and exterior modification categories, for years there was only a handful of options for making good power out of them with upgraded stock location Twin turbos and FBO's etc, but i have seen a few custom big Single turbo builds in the last 5 years but takes alot of fab and work cause of that lovely reverse engineered engine bay. the stock VR4 does beat the stock MK4 supra and stock R34 GTR around a track though, they were all tested in a shootout years ago
Bro you should make turbo the white eclipse it would be a great proyect besides that I think the most of us have 420 eclipses and would like to see the process of how to do it 😎
Keep the VR4 if you can't afford to fix it up right now, store it and if you haven't grown to love it a few years down the road, at least it'll be worth since money if you do decide to sell it. Just really really really sleep on it and don't let the fact is a gas guzzler be a reason you get rid of it. You don't want to be kicking yourself in the teeth later regretting you got rid of it.
