By the end, I realized my cheeks were hurting from the grinning & laughing I was doing. Thanks for this. Watching you & Mike plus everyone else is so much fun.
Always nice seeing you guys together. Funny how through the internet you got real life friends and the rest of us have a one sided friendly acquaintance with you three.
Thanks for sharing your trip Chris !! You guys have way to much fun messing with all the machines...lololol..... Great as always, Have a Great Evening, And, On too the Next !!
Scrapers are heavy, expensive to move and that is a single engine model as you noted. You would need at least a D8 to push it to get quick loading. Even having two of them to push/pull is often not efficient without a push cat. They work best on big projects where the dirt has to be moved more than a few hundred feet.
Yeah those auctions are pretty cool. I went to a Richie brother auction once and Quebec. It was quite the thing. All the equipment is just unreal. Good stuff. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
I ran a 627 (? twin engine) for a few days way back in 1977. Cut was up on a hillside fill for a pad downhill from that. We would come off that hill as fast as she would go, hit the fill area and lift the gate part way and spread the load about 3" deep and it would be smooth as a road. I even did the final dirt grade with a scraper because the rented grader had gone back. That was a very enjoyable job. If I recall it was about a 100,000 yard job.
Know when to hold them Know when to fold them Know when to walk away !!! I still got my moneys worth.. When you guys go to an auction I really enjoy it.
@@DauminiqueTheDumpTruckDriver aw ok! I used to know seattle quite well drove cab up thier for two years part time!. Love that a modle kw you have! Sweet truck . I'm trying to get back in shape so I can get my class a !! And I'd drive that old school Kool for yeah!
You and Mike have the perfect dirt haulers from what I’ve seen Chris, like you said I’ve also seen videos when they’re having to push them with a dozer ! Nice and cool machine though my friend! 👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
those Ardco's are niche machines, mostly oil and gas industries. gotta give ARDCO credit, the digital dash in the steering wheel is certainly unique. coming home from Ritchie Brothers empty handed is often a very good thing. RB is were junk goes to die or for some sucker to overpay for clapped out scrap
ARDCO is based out of Louisiana and those trucks are made in Michigan according to their website. Guess they're owned by the same company that makes Yanmar now. Anyway, can see one advantage of thay Takeuchi tracked dump truck with the swing dump bucket. When you need to add dirt from the top of dams. Just swing and dump where it's needed. Too bad they're not bigger though.
the Takeuchi ones are pretty common over here in Europe, especially in Austria and Germany and some parts of the alps where you do a lot of work on forestry and mountain roads they get used a lot over here for working in these areas as they are pretty much offroad monsters in a compact package the bigger versions would be from the companies morooka, Bergmann, Hitachi, Prinoth, Komatsu to name a few... Prinoth, Hitachi, Komatsu and Morooka make / made full 360 swing versions of the large ones... was funny to see them work, drive forward into the construction site, turn the whole uppercarriage 180 around and then once loaded go back in "reverse" while looking forward because you just turned the upper part around... by the way the ardco dumpers seem to me to have been used for lightweight bulk material
Fun Day with the Boys at an Equipment Auction and going home Empty Handed - well the Fun is being Together and enjoying each others Company - You can always buy more STUFF at a later Day - at least You Boys tested a few Rigs out ! Enjoyed this Video so very much and many Cheers from Australia !!!!
those Aroco trucks are made as a platform truck, they are not designed as a dump truck, you can clearly see that from the gray truck part and the red loose superstructure that is bolted on top, Aroco trucks are also used for agricultural purposes , for example to build a farm sprayer on it, or for example for Charlie to build a special cement mixer truck for that subsoil stabilization
Military graders are primarily for grading runways and encampment roads already mostly preped by those dozers Clint resells. My oldest brother was an Army combat engineer at one point in his post active duty Army retirement National Guard career. He explained it to me. The National Guard finally aged him out into his second retirement in Alaska. Yuppers, my oldest brother has to be seriously touched in the head to love up there. Kind of a bummer only Chris didn't score what he was looking for. Coulda been a interesting episode seeing what he faced once it was back on his Homestead.
Chris on the big Cat 385 with all the holes in the bucket sloppy mud would run right out? Glad you and your friends had a great time. Funny comments from everyone.
Been thinking about a skid or dozer to go along with my excavator but really worried about getting something not much better than some of that since my experience with buying used equipment is limited.
I bet you had fun... I could see you getting some use from the TCR50's.. when you have to haul everything in/out with a skid steer.. but other than that.. all fun toys you already have.. maybe just bigger/smaller versions..Or in need of major TLC...
OF COURSE Chris knows how to run a scraper,,,,, hahaha. What he said about the issues of running one is true. They are a bit hard on the hoses,,,,,,. They are REALLY fun to run!! 😊 I preferred the twins, 2 motors one front and rear and each motor drives 2 wheels for full 4wd. They don’t need a dozer, but if you get one stuck,,,,,,, uggghhhhhh.
Instead of a big honking scraper, I'd say get one more off-road haul trucks. That way you keep the excavator busy, less waiting on the one truck to finish moving loads. Or just a regular dump truck, for picking up material or hauling off to a dump site.
Some rather tired looking trucks lol... I like the old scraper but, yep, it looks like most of its life was spent dry-rotting in a motor pool (your logic against one makes perfect sense, though maybe one of the pull-behinds would work even though you'd still be hunting something to pull it). Some of the old lift stuff I used to run as a civilian at Ft. Campbell was equally tired (some units great, some not so much). The wheel loaders look better than those I see here in Williston but they get used and abused up here. Still better than the worn out bushings on a couple of old 10k's out at Ft. Campbell (going down the road one always risked Lewis-and-Clarking, for there was probably a quarter-turn of play in the steering lol). As for changing patterns, you guys have no sense of adventure pfffft... lol I've hauled a few Marooka pieces, including dump trucks. They ARE handy in a lot of locations. Always fun to roam the RB lots and you guys had good weather compared to here (our little RB lot looks bare for this upcoming auction). Time for our next blizzard this week pffft lol...
Equipment auctions are good places to learn just what kinds of weird and wonderful stuff is out there. Not that you'd ever need or even want some of it, but just a chance to wonder "what the heck" is this?
I was surprised that there wasn't anybody else wandering around & kicking the tires. It is an auction, right? And what happens to all the machines that aren't sold - I suppose that the owners haul them back home. Lotta haulin' goin' on.

I appreciated his comment. When I asked him about it I assumed he has a reason, just wondered what it is.
You may not have bought anything, but you got some well needed rest and fun with friends! I have enjoyed all the antics you, Mike and Clint had.
Yeah those auctions are pretty cool. I went to a Richie brother auction once and Quebec. It was quite the thing. All the equipment is just unreal. Good stuff. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
Chris I just love to watch you and Mike at the auction.
Always great to see all of you at the auction and having fun! 🤣
Great video from this auction bro, at least you and Mike kept us amused. Safe travels

Our last heavy equipment auction was very slim pickings as well. ☹️👎🏼
You could team up with Mrs Clint from C & C equipment, the girl power thing 🤣

A lot of contractors here in New Zealand use agricultural tractors with scoops behind

No machines however a great time was had by all - fun at the auctions. Great that Mike got his truck.

Cool going to the auction. CC & DP are pretty entertaining with you.
Where has Justin been? He would've been cool to see along with you guys
Yeah been wondering about Justin for a while now - haven't seen him for a long time. Hope he's doing well.
You guys can make serious stuff for your businesses be the most enjoyable watch. Love you guys being together!
Thanks for the video, always enjoy watching!
I always enjoy the auction preview videos. Wish they happened quarterly. 😅

Maybe the right sized "Scraper" could substitute for a dump truck and a dozer. However Volvo doesn't make the right size scraper.
Thanks for the ride
Thanks for the ride along sir.
The scraper is for 100 plus acre industrial parks. Or lakes.
I was thinking the same thing or for building major roads
I would swear that 2 pieces from this auction just rolled through my town today.
Scrapers have many uses but they use them for road base projects or thats what they started out using them for
Lol you guy have so much fun!
I think we would like to see you rent a scraper sometime if the conditions are right.
Those big Aroco are farm trucks usually to haul grain or sugar beets or whatever type crop
ARDCO seems to be niche market machines. oil and gas industries look like their target market
great videos of the auctions, watched your's, DP's, C&C Equipment & Southern Homestead's.. was a lot of junk there
Good time had by all & money still in your pocket. 😊
13:18 a decommissioned military unit. This was made in our facility in Illinois. The paint crew always hated to paint the military colors.
Thank you and have a good day.
I haven't seen a scarper in use since they built the highway through here in the late 1960's .
Thanks for sharing Chris! Kirk from Louisiana! 👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Well since you don't NEED any piece of equipment you don't already have going home empty handed isn't a bad thing.
Yup. . . There made to do that
Even if you didn`t buy anything, we are sure you had fun.
25:05 its on purpose, find a machine you like and kill the battery so nobody can test it out... less potential buyers for your machine.
Chris on the big Cat 385 with all the holes in the bucket sloppy mud would run right out? Glad you and your friends had a great time. Funny comments from everyone.
C&C saved the day the day after
Great video 👍 👍
Ritchie Brothers always has HUGE auctions!
Bealy good needs that tiny mini!
When you can drive one of the baby excavators through door's for utilities and demo work in commercial buildings they will make you a believer.
thank you
I like the fourth pattern on the cat digger.
Perhaps more logical than practical?

Hey, Chris. I was down there the 14th thur the 18th at Jeff Martin and Yoder & Frey I thought things were going pretty high but that just me !!!
Thanks for the video Chris Jeffrey Mr.Paydirt can help you with the scrapper I'm sure 😁🤣🤣. Take care of yourself and Winston ❤️❤️👍.
Cat 900 series track loaders sure changed the layout for the future! for the better!
Yea chris i think the second one gas holes where it shouldnt all over it
That Tcr50-2 was cool.
Sounds like a good thing 🙂

At least your pockets were still full when you got home Chris. Mike on the other hand bought a "new" White Mack dump truck courtesy of Clint. 😆
That little Takeuchi tracked 180 degree dump was cool.

Electric parking brake must coast to much for cat junk

Chris let's face it you had a good time picking on Mike great fun video thanks
get the scraper and who and what gonna push it?
Clint got Him a much better truck than the Black mack check out CC video on the white Mack Clint picked up for Mike
The hoses on that pan were probably sand-blasted

Your right about Cage not talking. I tried to when I met him and it was like pulling teeth😂
No short bus this year? Guess that wasn’t needed without works a lot there 😂
I will take the 963 cat wrap it up!!! I will take it!
What a shame no new toys.
If I ever go to a big auction I am taking my mountain bike! I'd zip around those yards like a road runner.
Everybody who says scrapers are the way to build ponds has never ran one!!
So the old 63 series loader aint up to par like your other one. Then theres betty
I would have lost that bet…..I was sure you would come back with something!
Those Aroco look like they might be for agriculture use
Side saddle, like a true lady!
I was surprised that there wasn't anybody else wandering around & kicking the tires. It is an auction, right?
And what happens to all the machines that aren't sold - I suppose that the owners haul them back home. Lotta haulin' goin' on.
That’s a good thing.
Empty handed just means your new equipment needs to be delivered glad you got some down time
I didn’t think u were ever gonna buy another machine that doesn’t grease itself!
If you was ever considering getting a pan I'd say you'd want a paddle pan over a push pan.
Clint has all ready brought one for mr DP much better then the black one he was looking at 😂😂😂
🤫 shhhh, too late..... you let the cat out of the bag!
Is it white?
at 21:36 one of the dozer’s looks like yours
"You keep your dozer and I'll keep my dough, sir"
Good Evening All😀
That cat 312 is how the new rookie operator totals the foreman's new truck.
@letsdig18 did you find some wheel loaders?
Sometimes the best buy you make is the one you don't make.
i could be wrong but i think that's a Pennsylvania area code on that Mack Granite
You should had bought that pan . You could had used it on the farm
good video
