- I noticed that my DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) were not working on my 2004 Chevy Avalanche. In fact, in the 9 months I've owned it, they must have never worked. Join me and learn all there is to know about your DRLs as I troubleshoot mine and even come across a secondary mystery in the process.

I have an 05 just like yours. I love these trucks!
yes! They're great trucks and so easy to work on as well. If you've got a bright red one it's uncommon. I've never seen another bright red. Most are dull colors although there is a nice blue one near me.
Nice looking truck picking up mine today.
Nice. Congratulations! They're cool trucks for sure.
When I bought my Avalanche in 2002, I went into the prep bay and removed the relay for the DRL's. Never worked since. It's weird to see the 5.3 in an Avalanche engine bay. :) There's sooo much room.
You bought one new in 2002. That's awesome. The controversial styling took me a few years to fully appreciate. I'd much rather have an 8.1 under the hood but they're difficult to find now.
They are red because of the avalanche club. It’s a way to distinguish the members, probably the guy you bought it from. Amber DRL mod.
Thanks! That's something I never would have guessed.
Hey well I have an 02 available but my fog lights won’t turn on no matter what I’ve change the fuse and nothing what could that be ?
There is also a relay for fog lights in the fuse panel under the hood. That would be my next system check as long as you're sure the bulbs are both good. Those fog light bulbs do not last long because they are fairly exposed to weather. Good luck!
I changed everything and they worked when I tried one on but than it rained heavy and they stoped working for no reason at all and I change all the fuses and lights so idk what else it could be
@@xo.derek__1710 If it's not the relay it may be the switch. Check the fuse again though and see if it's blown again which of course means there's a short somewhere or water is getting in. Halogen bulbs will blow quickly if you touch them when installing. Are you using LEDs?
Yes I’m using the proper led for it and still nothing I’ve been the whole day trying to figure it out if not I’m just going to wire them to the low beams
Thank you im going home asap to check mine I never could understand why those lights never worked Hopefully I'll have same luck
Good luck! Hopefully yours is an easy fix as well.
Do they stay on when the fog lights are on?
Not that I can tell, no. Mine are sensitive. If it's even slightly dark out the headlights come on.
Red looked good
Thanks!
Whats funny is. I was literally looking at that exact bulb 2 minutes before watching this. What are the ods.. lmao
lol. I think these going out is a common problem. I like the bulbs that I used and they've been fine since I installed them.
My tail light has a crack and where it rains now my tail light want work I put a new one in it please help this mamaw
Very likely a blown fuse. Does your other tail light and turn signal work?
Mine still ain't working
Sorry to hear that. Two things to remember: They will only work when the truck is in gear and in the daylight. Even under a carport mine would not come on. Other than that, check your lighting relay and check the fuse again. If you've got a short, the fuse will blow immediately.
