Great video sir. I just bought a 2004 Avalanche Z71 from an old timer who just retired and bought a new F150. He was the second owner and has had it since 2010. Took good care of it but neglected a few things. Thing has 0 rust which is great for NJ. 237k miles but runs like new. It's definitely a sweet truck with all the conveniences and comfort of a luxury SUV, yet a hard worker when it needs to be. I've heard about the camping package and seen a couple videos, too, and it's pretty cool. I'd also like to try it. For the beach runs, I just take the tire pressures down to about half inflation and it works great. At mean low tide, the sand along the waters edge is harder and more naturally compressed, so it's just like running on a dirt road in normal 2WD. At high tide, when you have to run up closer to the dunes, the sand is much deeper and there's less clearance under the truck, but it still pulls great in 4WD with the partially inflated tires. When I come off the sand in Corolla, I break out my portable tire inflator and pump them back up. Easy peasy!

Bought an 07 Avalanche LTZ roughly 4 years ago. 110,000 miles one owner fully loaded all service history as well as service receipts etc. Paid 13,500.00 for it. Even came with the receipt from when it was purchased from the dealership brand new. P/O payed 65,000 an change for it. It's regularly driven from Bristol TN to Myrtle Beach SC & back 85-100mph the entire way just cruising with all our luggage in the back. Best out of town rig you could possibly get. Out of the four years that I have owned mine all I have had to do to it is normal wear an tear stuff. Oil changes, Brakes, Alignment etc. Other then that shes driven daily and is honestly the most reliable thing I have ever owned. Mind you i'm 33 & disabled & I count on this thing daily to do what I need an it never fails me. I disabled the AOD on mine because I didn't like it other then that haven't changed a thing. I get roughly 15-17mpg on the interstate in constant V8 mode & that's on heavy 22" Wheels. It can actually tow an haul pretty hefty loads as well. Thing goes like a champ in the mud an snow with the G80 Locker in the back. All in all i'd glady buy another, mines now setting right at 200,000 an still going strong!

I just got my license and really don't want to buy a traditional car most folks are buying, a 5 series bmw, volkswagen passat or an audi a6. For some reason i've been in love with trucks all my life and been looking at Avalanches for ages. Would it be idiotic to own this car as my daily driver? Speaking of daily driving, I don't even drive that much because most of the stuff I need is probably a mile from my house but I just want a car. As far as regular service fees goes for a car, would owning this car be on the median level like most cars or doing regular services for a 2002 Avalance be wayyy higher compared to your usual car? Where I live (Europe), most US trucks/SUV's even have an installed LPG system which makes the mpg super cheap.

@@garfunkelsgarage2509yeah Suburban 2500 and Yukon XL 2500 both, basically all 3 were SUV 2500HDs. 14 bolts front and rear, leafs instead of coils, 6.0 or 8.1 (only 8.1s in the Avys) and 4L85Es.
Front and rear suspension, front steering is all the same as a 2500HD.

@@garfunkelsgarage2509 there was also the 1500HD Silverado Crew Cab which was a heavy half/LD 3/4 ton, 8600 GVWR, instead of 7000/9200 for standard 1500/2500HD.
Similar to LD2500, but not identical

Ever since my first time buying a truck I kicked myself in the ass for not buying it at that time couldn't afford it at that time and now thanks to a stupid kid that hit me and his insurance let me buy a 2013 black diamond edition ltz I love this truck more bells and whistles than my old truck and the blinker lights up on my mirror that was shocking but thanks I do still like watching videos on the avalanche
