My Sister was a huge fan of Batman. She passed away at a very young age. Her loss is so unbearable to me that My last wish is to meet her again up above or down below and this music gives me hope that it will happen. Miss you Sarah. See you soon.
"When we did Batman Begins, we never thought it would end up as a trilogy. And maybe to you it's three movies but you have to remember for us it turned into 12 years of our lives. A lot of stuff happened in that time. And it all started with Chris Nolan phoning me and asking me if I was able to work with him and do a Batman movie. Of course I was able to work with Chris, but the more I thought about it, the more I started to have concerns that I didn't know how to solve - how could I be so dark and, let's face it, dramatic and at the same time be the elegant Bruce Wayne, and split my personality that way? So Chris came up with the idea that I should invite my friend James Howard who is the infinitely more elegant and brilliant composer to come aboard and be Bruce Wayne. So the three of us set off to London, we wrote the movie, had a great time, finished it, people seemed to like it. Didn't think much more about it. And a couple of years later, Chris came over to my studio and started to tell me a different story. He started to tell me the story of the Joker, he started to tell me about anarchy, and the punk attitude, and the fearlessness. And I said to him, "Who's going to play this character?" He said, "Oh, this young actor called Heath Ledger." And let me tell you when Heath came in, every scene we saw, he was fearless. He truly was that character. He just got into that role and he was brilliant each time up on the screen with us. We loved every moment of watching his performance; his daringness. Right towards the end of finishing the movie, we heard that our Heath had died. And it was a terrible shock. And at first I thought, in the sorrow that, everything I was doing, all the punk stuff, all the hard edges, all the rusty nails, all that stuff, the broken glass attitude - I needed to tone it all down. But I realised the only way to really honour the man and honour the performance was to keep the edge, to keep the rust and razor blades across the rusty strings. And a while later, Chris came to us and he said we do owe it to ourselves that we finish this trilogy, and we get back into it, and we get back into the inventiveness of it all, and we did Dark Knight Rises, and we had an amazing premiere in New York, and we go to the plane after the premiere, and we go to London for our premiere, and I remember arriving at my flat at 7 o'clock in the morning and the phone is ringing. And a journalist, he's asking me what my reaction is to the terrible shooting that occurred at the screening of our movie, in this small town in Colorado called Aurora. And I haven't heard of it, we were on the plane when it aired, and of course I said what everybody else said, I said "devastated." And all day I was walking around thinking of the victims, thinking of the loved ones he left behind, and how the word "devastated" was just not enough. And I phone my friends in the choir that night, and I said, "Can we record a piece of music, wordless, that feels like we're stretching our arms out across the Atlantic, we're stretching our arms out all the way to this small town in Colorado called Aurora, and we're hugging these people, we're hugging the loved ones that are left behind." And you know something? The world hasn't gotten much better yet - if you look at Syria, if you look at the Middle East, you look at Paris, you look at Venezuela where my friend is from. And on this stage, there are musicians from all nations, from all continents, and when playing, we play nice together. And maybe, maybe there's just a little glimmer of something that can be learned. And tonight, all we want to do is play from our hearts and stretch our arms out and embrace you, Brisbane, with our music, from our hearts. Ladies and gentlemen, this piece is called Aurora." - Hans the Legend
@@bevrosity No dumbass. Sometimes you simply cannot express your emotions with words so you use music instead. In fact that music is human voice actually
12 lives extinguished with the pull of a trigger. 12 families who never got to say good-bye. 12 people who were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. 70 people hurt because of the insanity of another. 70 people who's lives are forever changed by the choice of another. This song... I may have had no family in that theater that night, but this song... it brought me to tears. May the lives of the fallen never be forgotten, for as long as they are remembered, they are never truly gone. They live on in the hearts of those they loved, their family, their friends... Never forget. Aurora, 2012.
Remembering that Zimmer wrote this as a tribute to those who died in the Aurora theatre massacre. Its Horrible that something as beautiful as this was born from something so tragic.
I am almost certain that he just renamed a Track he already recorded previously, called "The End" which was a bonus exclusive from The Dark Knight Rises ost, which was just an extended version of the final track of the ost
@@ellieh.5419He himself said in one of his concert that after hearing the news, he needed to find a Choir to make a song for honoring the victims. He obviously used pieces of the soundtrack but do you really think he would just rename a track ? come on man
@@ShunsukeK1 This composition is an alternate version of Rise (1:00 onwards) from The Dark Knight Rises, which plays during the Epilogue sequence. It is a new recording at a different tempo and with a different choir, but it's the same exact track. Listen to that one for yourself and listen to this if you don't believe us. That doesn't mean it's disrespectful or lazy. I actually find it quite fitting that he chose to do a new rendition of an already emotional track for this purpose. But make no mistake - this is just the same song.
I see many people calling H. Zimmer a wonderful music COMPOSER. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Zimmer is a maestro. He is at the same level as Mozart. He is alive, he is still working and make us better people. God bless you, Mr. Zimmer. We need you!!!
No he's not. Mozart laid the foundation for all that Zimmer does. To be at that level Hans would need to come up with a whole different way of composing, which is hard to do in a world that is changing as fast as ours, where reinventing everything is somehow the 'norm'. Sure, he is at the helm of an entire industry, which is evidence enough to say that he is at least "one of the greats" of our time, up there with Williams and a few others. But boy, oh boy, believe me when I say, there is not a single chance that in the time he's got left he will achieve either the consistency of John Williams, nor the complexity of Shore's The Lord of The Rings music. Hans has found the perfect recipie of tasteful yet innovative blend of modern/ romantic composition, which puts him in the spotlight every time one of his movies comes out. But let me remind you that is John Williams, who still lives, the third man alive with the biggest amount of nominations to prestige awards like oscars. You may not trust the oscars, but when half of your movies warrant a nomination for whatever prize there is, that is to be a legend. All of this is said whitout taking any merit whatsoever from Hans. He is an amazing composer, and has lead the industry for years. I consider myself a complete fan of his work and i resonate with almost every piece of music i have heard from him. He might be the most talented musician in the race right now. But to say he is at the level of one of the founding fathers of modern music is a bit too much, which Hans himself can say, the same way he blushes when compared to John Williams. Also sorry for unearthing this 6 years old post lol. Hope everything is good in your life m8
Go48videos get off your fucking high horse. he might not be able to WRITE sheet music but he definitely can read it. And he is a composer, not a producer, composing instruments and sounds. Not producing a track from samples or plug ins, or producing artists. Completely different ball game. You don't know everything. hence why your music sounds shit. Be humble
I grew up in Aurora Colorado and went to that Theater multiple times with family and friends. I remember crying after hearing the news of the shooting. It devastated the community there with such senseless violence. I'm so glad that Hans dedicated this song to the people who lost their lives by just trying to see the conclusion of the master piece that was the Dark Knight Trilogy. I saw him in person in concert when he came here in 2016 and thanked him personally.
Composer here; stories like this is exactly why we are bound to do this job. One of the few universals in composing is this deeply fueling moral imperative to express our emotions in our art, exactly the way we feel them; because we know we're not the only ones who feel them. There are countless others. And when countless others have that acknowledgement, that someone else besides them feels this way too, it reminds them that they are not alone in those feelings. It makes them feel less small, because they're part of something larger and beautiful. My heart goes out to you, and I will never try to do something as arrogant as claim to know your experience or feelings as well as you do, especially in regards to something as sacred and tragic as what transpired that day. I will say that I'm glad our medium was able to provide you some comfort, and I hope it always reminds you that you are not - NOR WILL YOU EVER BE - alone.
This song just helps prove that Hans Zimmer is one the greatest composers ever. Not only does he create beautiful music, but he even took the time to compose this piece of music in dedication to the people who lost their lives watching a movie he wrote the music for.
@@pedrodeo4099 it's just a different rendition of one of the songs from the Dark Knight. Why would he make a dedication that has no significance. For bloody sake, he's Hans Zimmer. The people killed were watching the Dark Knight so there-for he made this song dedicated to them through the Dark Knight's melody.
This song is timeless. This song portrays the world we live in. The sorrows and the sadness, the death and destruction. The pain and the suffering. But it also portrays the love and compassion, the motivation and dedication, the will to be something more. To make a difference. We as human beings decide our fate and the fate of others. Love those around you, lift them up and make a difference.
I'm a native of Aurora, Colorado. I grew up on Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center, and I have family out there. I currently live n Maryland. When I heard news of this horrible shooting, I couldn't help but feel personally affected by it. Not only was it my hometown, not only was it my favorite superhero on the big screen, and not only was it 7 days before my birthday, but, most importantly, innocent people died needlessly. James Holmes killed innocent men, women and children out of some blind rage. If only we had our own Batman in the real world. The fact that Hanz freaking Zimmer, a man who's music I ADORE, would write something this touching for the victims and name it after the town I so dearly call home? That just makes me think the world of this guy. Thanks Hanz, even after all this time.
Brian Massey Apparently Holmes just saw the victims as "collateral damage". I really do wonder how messed up he was. Apparently he wanted to get the Police's attention with a big event.
*****: He'll get his wish. Of course, millions have been spent on his stay and trial, but he's sentenced to death for multiple first-degree murder charges. If I were the judge, I'd arrange his execution with one of the weapons he used in the rampage as poetic justice the week after his conviction, and publish it live on tv.
Yes, but you would be paying for his shock therapy, and that is expensive. The best punishment in his case would be using the same weapons he used to kill and main his victims.
***** Our societies breed these broken individuals whose consciousness succumbs so easily to the mass manipulation that's ongoing. The violent perpetrators; the crisis actors; the militarized police goons; those imbecile talking heads on TV that knowingly report garbage... These are the people that our everyday heroes reach by sharing & making them feel their Humanity again. Killing them is worthless - more unfeeling zombies replace them. Bringing them out of their fear filled matrix turns this twisted game on its head.
In 2012, I was at theatre for Dark Knight Rises, after that I went home to listen soundtracks of movie. Than I encountered this masterpiece and learnt it's story. You can actually hear screams of victims, feel the anger of victim's relatives. How a person can kill another person without a reason like defending him/herself. 3 days after I watched this movie, my grandma passed away. I felt sadness and void first time in my life. Often I came here to listen this to understand feeling of a person who lost someone. Today I am here again, thank God/Allah, everything is fine, but to remember the lost ones and know value of everything I have. Thank you, Hans.
This song right here is another reason why I say that Hans Zimmer himself is a Superhero. The incredible music Hans has created for us is a Heroic feat in and of itself. Thank you Hans......just, thank you.
Hans Zimmer is simply one of the most influential composers and artists of the classical movie genre. When I first heard this song, and read its title, I knew nothing about what this was, the stylistic notes, the awe of the vocalists/harmonizers in the background, and the sheer chills that tingle my soul.....it cannot be replicated anywhere else than right here. After hearing this song with my bro, we looked it up. I was in tears when I read it was a dedication to those families who lost their daughters and sons from the Aurora Theater shooting.....my soul sank. And to think, that was in 2012 when it happened.....the time flew so quick.....and now we are faced with newer struggles.....whether it is the world we live, the streets we roam, or the nightmares that eat at us: this song is the beckon of light that better emits the solemn nature of fear, reflection, and truth. We are a race that is inevitably created to destroy and ravage the very things that make us better. But, with music.....songs like this, we can find ways to reflect, learn, and more powerfully then ever overcome the strives of this society and world we live in. I know this seems a bit of a stretch, both literally and metaphysically, but I hope you have read all this. This song greatly impacted me, and countless others. For the families who lost their babies to the shooting: I mourn for you, ever day you feel the pain. I pray that this world can one day overcome and forever end the hardships and heartbreaking events that toil our souls and will to progress ever so well. Hans Zimmer: I, and others alike, cannot thank you enough. You have shown your greatest quality as a composer: you have the forthrightness to take your cinematic music, and just...revise and reform this new bittersweet masterpiece for those who lost their lives when going to witness Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" in Colorado. Just...thank you. You have honestly proven your worth as a compassionate and dedicated composer, artist, and human being. Thank you. For everyone else: May this song remind us that even though we face struggles and trials of loss and suffering today, we will grow; we will flex our muscles stronger the next day, we will rise higher as we reach into heaven for greatness, where evil, fear, and darkness cannot touch its vast and holy land surrounded in light and love. We should all aspire to end our sufferings now to reach up into the vast holiness. Someday, there will be a new rising of our form into something greater...and it starts with our hearts to seek goodness in the world. Also, thank you @xNarsil for this upload. Many can now view this tragic, but glorious masterpiece on RUclips now. Thank you. Love is the answer, everyone. You can help be that change in a world gone bad. Be safe and well.
I remember seeing rise in theaters that night at midnight. They were asking everyone who dressed up to please take off their masks and were checking all the exits. At the time we had no idea what was happening until we got out. We loved the movie, it was brilliant. It was tarnished when we all checked our phones leaving the theater. It’s absolutely mind blowing to think 11 years has gone this fast.
If I could choose when and where to breath my last, I would choose to die in a Hans Zimmer Concert, listening to something like this. Your greatness is out of this world.
@@Risingofthephoenix Weird no ,the euphoria of HZ choice of tones in this composition is exactly why the statement of listening to his music at the end is relatable and poignant.
I listened to this before I went to see Rises. I only just heard about the shooting at the time, from a comics fan known as ItsJustSomeRandomGuy. He talked about the shooting and that his solution was to go to the movies. At first I thought it was kinda odd if not in poor taste since the shooting did happen in a theater. However it struck me what he meant. The shooter whatever his intentions were, the byproduct of them was to instill fear of going to somewhere as joyful as a movie theater or a mall. In his own small way he was pretty much giving Holmes the middle finger for doing what he did. So I followed suit.
My good friend and the father of my daughter committed suicide two years ago. I started to listen to this song over and over again, and finally something cracked open in me. I hadn't faced it, not really. Now I can. This song is purely beautiful. To mold a darkness into a shape of purity, that requires a real talent.
“When we die our souls become infinite but our body’s don’t, when we die to protect those we love (reference to the boyfriends who died saving their gfs) we are called heroes, when we die young it’s because we are accepted to become a single spirit to guide others lost in spirit (referring to the young girl), when we die people remember us and the memories we shared with them, these are the people who I think about when I was in the middle of making this” -Han Zimmer
When I have a long car drive, I listen to this all the time, look out the window, and start thinking about everything why we’re here, what’s the reason behind all this. This song is just a masterpiece.
@adamk2895Where are we? Here. What time is it? Now. I suggest watching the movie "Peaceful Warrior" or better yet reading the book by Dan Millman of the same title.
The existence we call life is more about being than thinking. Deep thinking keeps you from the one thing that matters, this moment. Doing is always better than thinking about doing. I suggest watching "Peaceful Warrior" for more insight. God...the foundation of universe is The Great I AM. Conscious energy that permeates everything in existence. It took me years of hardships and experiences to realize what I share with you for free. But don't take my, or anyones, word for it. True knowledge is best realized through experience. All the best.
Too young to explore the universe. Too old to explore the Earth. But born just in the right time to witness Hans Zimmer and Christopher Nolan. The world truly comes together through these people.
Even without the context, you can feel the sorrow and the grief humming in every note of this beautiful composition. What a wonderful way to remember the people we lost in Aurora.
One day... the world will realize... that killing each other isn't the path of revenge/hateridge/envy...but just madness Hans, we thank you for showing us that... through your Aurora.
this makes me miss someone i don't even know or exist. Maybe it's in another timeline, in another universe, In another life. Or maybe we already know each other ... Have we crossed paths once or twice or more than that? there's a feeling in me that longs for it. Whoever you are, I hope you're having a nice day
Imagine the deep emotions needed to compose this? You have to really FEEL the pain, strip yourself down to the core. It can either give you the ability to do this, or destroy you.
I remember that RUclips recap 2022 said I listened to this song 54% of all my time listening music that year 😅. I cant remember the amount of hours lol. But this is one of those songs i never get bored of, it gets to my soul. Thanks Hans Zimmer ❤
Everyone came here for their own reasons, but I came here to find some positive vibes and motivation from this pandemic crisis and I really really really hope (I am sure everyone is the same but) this Coronavirus will be over soon and everything that we took for granted will go back to normal soon.
Si! Con Dio si può intravedere la Luce anche nel buio più doloroso. Con la sua musica Zimmer riesce proprio a sublimare il dolore e condurci su sentieri di Luce nonostante il buio fitto❤
I came back from a concert of Hans Zimmer in Lille, France. He played it as a memory for the Paris, Bruxelles and middle-east terrorist attacks. Was terribly sad...
Hans Zimmer fait des concerts en France?? En fait je suis fan de lui et j'adorerais aller le voir en concert donc si tu vois ce message merci de me répondre.
Rest in peace, all the victims of the Aurora, Colorado theater shooting. Hans Zimmer, this is such a beautiful tribute to those lost. Thank you so much for creating this beautiful piece of art, Mr. Zimmer.
I've been reading this book called 1984. You can callit classic literature. I wasn't really interested in reading it at all. But once I put my headphones on and played this song. The story and this music mixed together so perfectly that I could have experience something unbelievable. I can read this book only while playing this song. Great job again, Zimmer ...
Everybody should read 1984, preferably as mandatory school material. I read it about every ten years, 3 times so far. Government suppression of the public is the most important subject to understand in any democracy IMO
The ones who lost their lives, they heard this, they did. They heard this. Hans Zimmer, you are a most precious individual. I am glad to be alive and hear your Soul. You play your Soul and the Souls of many others.
From the power of light comes darkness and from darkness comes light. Light always prevails. Even in our darkest hour never lose hope. Without hope, we will never achieve lasting peace.

So impressive how it develops - becoming more and more emotional over time... could listen to it over and over again, so much expression and feelings right from the bottom of the heart. Amazing piece of music.
Then change your life today. We can't change our pasts, but we can change our future, the course if our journeys, by what we do today. Fill your life with love, spend time with friends and family, it's never to late until we are dead. Don't let guilt hold you hostage, we all make mistakes.
Quelle émotion cette musique... je me sens entre ici et ailleurs, emportée par une vibration presque divine. Y a-t-il des anges de l'autre côté ? Quel talent ce Hans Zimmer !
My university was threatened by someone writing on a wall a couple of days ago saying they were going to kill everyone and I'm sitting here at college, away from home, doing homework and listening to this. You have no idea the amount of goosebumps I have. They still haven't found out who it was and the date for the killing is the 8th - 2 days. Such a relevant soundtrack right now.
when I was 7 I started singing in a professional church choir and I stopped when I was 13. Every time I hear these types of songs it reminds me of that time. I'm 16 now and I miss the singing I always did and I regret leaving it but it took to much of my time away. This song gives me nostalgic chills and I LOVE that feeling. I hope someone can relate in some sort of way with this music. If you read this the whole way through I appreciate that very much because I don't share this way of feeling with anyone else because I'm always scared that people will judge me on it because in my country not many people are religious so if you have been in a choir from a church its already pretty special/weird for some people. Thanks again for reading this if you did and even if you didn't I still appreciate you even lookin at the first word. Have a nice day or night and please for the love of god don't quit something you are good at because you will regret it later. I'm not religious either so if anyone comments on this with something religious I will probably not understand what it means I'm sorry.
One of the most incredible parts of this piece is that you can hear some of his other compositions woven in. Subtly, but still there. Almost as if he's paying tribute to all he has accomplished, just as he pays tribute to those who passed in the disaster.
"I would not presume to know anything about the victims of the shooting but that they were there last night to watch a movie. I believe movies are one of the great American art forms and the shared experience of watching a story unfold on screen is an important and joyful pastime. The movie theatre is my home, and the idea that someone would violate that innocent and hopeful place in such an unbearably savage way is devastating to me. Nothing any of us can say could ever adequately express our feelings for the innocent victims of this appalling crime, but our thoughts are with them and their families." -Director Christopher Nolan's reaction to the theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado.
Hans Zimmer relied on divine inspiration to compose this song. It transports you to that tragic moment in Aurora in the past and you hear the pain, the sadness and the silence that prevailed at that time... Truly magnificent!
May All the Victims that died on this day a 11 years ago, may you rest in peace and u will never be for gotten, as of jan 29th 2024..... you will be remembered
Can ya'll feel that? Can YOU feel that that thing that's beating in your hands? That thing that's beating in your freaking chest right now? CAN YOU FEEL THAT? Can you feel how powerful this music is? Hanz Zimmer? THE GREATEST COMPOSER OF ALL TIME.
Hanz Zimmer is brilliant, he's amazing, he's great, no doubt. However, i wouldn't go that far. Lets not forget his German family, Mozart, Beethoven, and Handel, Bach..... They are all legends, and Hanz Zimmer will surely also become one in the near future.
If Heaven ever gains another composer, his name should be Hans Zimmer. This is absolutely Heavenly music and a great tribute to those in Aurora. My heart is still with you all.
I remember when I first heard this on the news. My heart just sank hearing it, those poor innocent people get shot and killed while enjoying a movie at a theater. One of the victims is from my home town and this was a huge deal there. My heart sunk even deeper when I heard that. This is such a beautiful tribute to those lives lost on July 20, 2012 ;(
So you only gave a fuck becuz they were americans Millions of Muslim kids women men are killed by America but thats okay its just life we should get over it ignorant people
I'm not going to lie. I cried silently while listening to this. I didn't even realize i had tears running down my face until I just paused for a moment to collect myself.
Hans Zimmer said himself that every piece of music is from scratch. No Pre meditated ideas involved, that every music piece is a conversation. It's amazing how he can add so many words, thoughts and emotion to a song containing not a single word. He's truly a remarkable individual and the sole reason why I got into this sort of music. When my heads too clustered to put my thoughts into words, I turn to Han Zimmer.
From Aurora. It's beautiful that something so amazing was written in honour of those poor people that died in the Aurora theatre. Hans Zimmer really reached into another dimension for this one.
It's amazing how the right composer is capable of going beyond "beautiful". Objectively Chopin, Verdi, Williams or Shore (my favorite composers) and many others, make beautiful pieces but what Hans does is at another level. Man of steel makes you want to fly, to do good for the world. When you listen to Interstellar, you realize how little you are, you even begin to have an understanding of your place in the universe. The dark knight awakens your sense of justice and reinforce your morality. With Aurora you enter a lethargic state of mind. Gladiator makes you appreciate how beautiful life is when you fight for your loved ones. I could go on and on but my point is that Hans Zimmer is more than a composer, he's a man capable of truly reaching your soul through music, a true living legend.
I have been listening to this song a lot lately. Ever since the war in Ukraine started. The immeasurable suffering of millions. The countless lifes that have been destroyed and lost and will never be the same.
That's true. Life will absolutely not be the same after the Ukraine war is over: there will be tons of cleanup to do to help recover what was lost in the Ukraine War.
No matter where you live, who You are, just... Sit into the backyard at the evening, put your earphones on and enjoy the moment... incredibly touching... RIP all the victims of terrorist attacks around the world...
My Sister was a huge fan of Batman. She passed away at a very young age. Her loss is so unbearable to me that My last wish is to meet her again up above or down below and this music gives me hope that it will happen. Miss you Sarah. See you soon.

You need to become the Dark Knight for her …. 🩶🖤🩶🖤
"When we did Batman Begins, we never thought it would end up as a trilogy.
And maybe to you it's three movies but you have to remember for us it turned into 12
years of our lives.
A lot of stuff happened in that time.
And it all started with Chris Nolan phoning me and asking me if I was able to work with
him and do a Batman movie.
Of course I was able to work with Chris, but the more I thought about it, the more I started
to have concerns that I didn't know how to solve - how could I be so dark and, let's
face it, dramatic and at the same time be the elegant Bruce Wayne, and split my personality
that way?
So Chris came up with the idea that I should invite my friend James Howard who is the infinitely
more elegant and brilliant composer to come aboard and be Bruce Wayne.
So the three of us set off to London, we wrote the movie, had a great time, finished it,
people seemed to like it.
Didn't think much more about it.
And a couple of years later, Chris came over to my studio and started to tell me a different
story.
He started to tell me the story of the Joker, he started to tell me about anarchy, and the
punk attitude, and the fearlessness.
And I said to him, "Who's going to play this character?"
He said, "Oh, this young actor called Heath Ledger."
And let me tell you when Heath came in, every scene we saw, he was fearless.
He truly was that character.
He just got into that role and he was brilliant each time up on the screen with us.
We loved every moment of watching his performance; his daringness.
Right towards the end of finishing the movie, we heard that our Heath had died.
And it was a terrible shock.
And at first I thought, in the sorrow that, everything I was doing, all the punk stuff,
all the hard edges, all the rusty nails, all that stuff, the broken glass attitude - I
needed to tone it all down.
But I realised the only way to really honour the man and honour the performance was to
keep the edge, to keep the rust and razor blades across the rusty strings.
And a while later, Chris came to us and he said we do owe it to ourselves that we finish
this trilogy, and we get back into it, and we get back into the inventiveness of it all,
and we did Dark Knight Rises, and we had an amazing premiere in New York, and we go
to the plane after the premiere, and we go to London for our premiere, and I remember arriving
at my flat at 7 o'clock in the morning and the phone is ringing.
And a journalist, he's asking me what my reaction is to the terrible shooting that occurred
at the screening of our movie, in this small town in Colorado called Aurora.
And I haven't heard of it, we were on the plane when it aired, and of course I said
what everybody else said, I said "devastated."
And all day I was walking around thinking of the victims, thinking of the loved ones
he left behind, and how the word "devastated" was just not enough.
And I phone my friends in the choir that night, and I said, "Can we record a piece of music,
wordless, that feels like we're stretching our arms out across the Atlantic, we're stretching
our arms out all the way to this small town in Colorado called Aurora, and we're hugging
these people, we're hugging the loved ones that are left behind."
And you know something?
The world hasn't gotten much better yet - if you look at Syria, if you look at the Middle
East, you look at Paris, you look at Venezuela where my friend is from.
And on this stage, there are musicians from all nations, from all continents, and when
playing, we play nice together.
And maybe, maybe there's just a little glimmer of something that can be learned.
And tonight, all we want to do is play from our hearts and stretch our arms out and embrace
you, Brisbane, with our music, from our hearts.
Ladies and gentlemen, this piece is called Aurora." - Hans the Legend

They live on in the hearts of those they loved, their family, their friends...

Remembering that Zimmer wrote this as a tribute to those who died in the Aurora theatre massacre. Its Horrible that something as beautiful as this was born from something so tragic.
Are you alluding to your book, "Birth of tragedy"?
Without darkness light has no purpose
Friedrich Nietzsche something beautiful from something horrible is good thing.
Friedrich Nietzsche this is an arrangement and combination of various themes from the dark knight rises ost which I think he then made into this piece
As always Nietzsche, you understand the irony of reality.
I absolutely love that he included A Dark Knight in this piece. A great tribute to the Batman fans who died so needlessly that night.
I am almost certain that he just renamed a Track he already recorded previously, called "The End" which was a bonus exclusive from The Dark Knight Rises ost, which was just an extended version of the final track of the ost
@@ellieh.5419 This is also basically "Not an ordinary Citizen"
@@ellieh.5419He himself said in one of his concert that after hearing the news, he needed to find a Choir to make a song for honoring the victims. He obviously used pieces of the soundtrack but do you really think he would just rename a track ? come on man
@@ShunsukeK1 just compare the songs, you'd see is almost the very same song, just with an added choir
Finally. A comment that I 100% stand with.
I see many people saying that H. Zimmer is a great "producer". Ladies and gentlemen Zimmer is a great COMPOSER.
+Go48videos well you dont but I bet your music sounds like shit if you have no clue about basic harmonics etc

Sergio Llorente You're right he is a magnificent composer !!! 🎼🕯

+Brian Massey No, we don't have a Batman - we have Batmen who are equally courageous. You Sir, are one of them. Thank you for sharing.

Karen Catizone you're right. Hans Zimmer, es como Beethoven del siglo XXI.
a big thank you to Hans Zimmer for his wonderful compositions
Thank you.

I remember seeing rise in theaters that night at midnight. They were asking everyone who dressed up to please take off their masks and were checking all the exits. At the time we had no idea what was happening until we got out.

No matter how dark the days of darkness, the light of God must come again. ✝️
Your beliefs are welcome if you live them. If all you do is talk, please leave your religion st the door.
Nothing any of us can say could ever adequately express our feelings for the innocent victims of this appalling crime, but our thoughts are with them and their families."
-Director Christopher Nolan's reaction to the theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado.
Hans Zimmer is a genius and will go down in history as the best composer on the planet.
Hans Zimmer relied on divine inspiration to compose this song. It transports you to that tragic moment in Aurora in the past and you hear the pain, the sadness and the silence that prevailed at that time... Truly magnificent!
Hans Zimmer
The Best in Soundtracks...
May All the Victims that died on this day a 11 years ago, may you rest in peace and u will never be for gotten, as of jan 29th 2024..... you will be remembered
There is something about this track that just seems so peaceful and spiritual yet haunting. Absolute masterpiece by Zimmer like always.
Wagner and Maler as well.
This is such a beautiful tribute to those lives lost on July 20, 2012 ;(
So you only gave a fuck becuz they were americans
Millions of Muslim kids women men are killed by America
but thats okay
its just life we should get over it
ignorant people
Muhammed Awais millions of Muslim children are killed by their own people.
Hans Zimmer [ Legend ]
What a moving piece of music, how sad that this piece was created after the Aurora massacre. What an amazing man you are Hans Zimmer. Xxxx
From Aurora. It's beautiful that something so amazing was written in honour of those poor people that died in the Aurora theatre. Hans Zimmer really reached into another dimension for this one.
Genius, he knows where is the center of the heart to makes flow in his music.
Seriously, this composer is simply majestic
Congratulations Hans Zimmer, your music change my mind and emotions, I recomended all music off Hans Zimmer. For example, Time, and Rest of my life
FUERZA
Man, I had totally forgotten about the Aurora shooting. It happens so much these days, it barely even seems memorable any more.
"It happens so much these days, it barely even seems memorable any more."
Right there is the problem.
@@TheInfantry98 You're American, right?
@@TheInfantry98 You are an exceptional individual, in all the wrong ways.
@@TheInfantry98 You seem to be heavily misinformed. You give conservatives and moderates everywhere a bad name.
It should not become the new "normal".
I listened only for six minutes with eyes closed. Those six minutes felt like eternity!! Heck this music takes you in a different world!
🌹
Thank you Hans for doing this.
In my opinion there's no greater composer than Zimmer❤❤❤❤
So well put together. That is exactly what I think
I have been listening to this song a lot lately. Ever since the war in Ukraine started. The immeasurable suffering of millions. The countless lifes that have been destroyed and lost and will never be the same.
My thoughts exactly!😪🤧
Palestinians also suffer but the world don't talk about them
That's true. Life will absolutely not be the same after the Ukraine war is over: there will be tons of cleanup to do to help recover what was lost in the Ukraine War.
Yes, YES.
Why didn't you start listening it when the war started in middle east?
I believe this is one of the saddest songs I've heard
When I hear this song I feel like am in peace and am like know the reality of the world and what's going on it.
What makes shadows. Light makes them. And the only reason you see them, is because your facing away from the light.
La La Leelee light doesn't make them. The absence of light does. That's pretty basic knowledge.
That’s beautifully stated.
That’s beautifully stated.
That’s beautifully stated.
QiLLAH darkness is the result of the absence of light.. not shadows. In fact, shadows appear because of the presence of light. A faint one that is.
When your worst nightmare comes true but know theres still hope for good to rise victorious.
So, like The Dark Knight Rises?
No matter where you live, who You are, just... Sit into the backyard at the evening, put your earphones on and enjoy the moment... incredibly touching...
RIP all the victims of terrorist attacks around the world...
the more I hear the music of Hans Zimmer the better I like him!
