The support my last video got was honestly unfathomable and with it came a lot of pressure in terms of following it up. That said, I not only think this part holds up to the last, but I honestly think it's my best video so far, so I hope everyone enjoys it. Of course if you have any game suggestions for this series; feel free to let me know, it is very much appreciated (If you want to suggest Identity V more you can do that too). It's a privilege to reach so many, so thanks again for all the support lately 🍦

Have you thought about trying VHS? The game gets a ton of hate for the Queue times being long, but playing during the games peak hours can get good Queues of a few minutes.
A lot of people seem to hate the game with a passion, which is weird.
People seem to just love calling it a "dead game" and calling anyone who defends and likes it, "full of copium", "delusional" and "DBD wannabes".
VHS is still being worked on by the Devs. It has a small, but passionate player base who really love the game.
I think it has the best maps, the best cosmetics, the most visually interesting Killers and Survivors in any Asym on the market.
The biggest issue is : the game is hard.
Coming in from DBD, not getting the hang of it quickly and then calling it a crap game. Steam is full of reviews like that. It takes quite a few game to get a handle of VHS, but once you do, its a blast.
Suggestion : If you have a couple of friends, try Customs. You can play with up to 5 friends and any vacant spots can be taken up with Bots. The AI isn't perfect, but they're not too bad. In Customs you can try all the weapons, perks, and maps. It's a great way to get a feel for the game before you go live.
VHS answers the question : Can an Asym be fun and balanced if the Survivors can kill the Killer? The answer. Yes. But it takes more effort, practice and skill on both sides to make it work.
I'll keep an eye out for a video if you make one on VHS.
Always nice to hear new perspectives on the game.
Oh, and don't forget the Training Mode for weapons to get a feel for them. They need to be used with the right technique and timing to be effective.
Maybe see you in the Beyond!

OMG YES YOU PLAYED IDENTITY V. I played idv about a year after I started playing dbd, but although at first it seemed really confusing, once you get the hang of it it's actually amazing, and I'd definitely say is as good/better than dbd in a lot of aspects, ofc some things aren't AS good, but overall it's really good. Also camping is the most common thing in idv because it's actually an intended strat, seemed like you thought it was terrible because of what camping's like in dbd but in idv it is incredibly easy to counter in comparison. ofc play any games you want, but I'd really suggest perhaps at least watching some videos about idv to understand it better because once you do it's really fun, playing survivor has so much more variety than in dbd because each survivor has unique abilities, however the free survivors all use general items (e.g Lucky guy, who had the wish system, and lawyer, who has a map + can't be terror shocked, which is when you get insta downed if you are hit while vaulting, rescuing, opening an exit gate, or healing).
One of the things I like a lot about idv is no hackers, like at all, if you see one then you just got incredibly unlucky but it's a miracle if you ever even find 1 within a year of playing. Toxicity is definitely an issue still, but not as bad as dbd. Also there are SO many skins in the game that are usually all pretty unique, AND there are accessories to change the way your abilities for a character actually look, which makes it even more interesting imo. As for gameplay I'd say it's as good as dbd but is still both similar and very different at the same time.
Identity V is a really underrated game, mainly because it's originally Chinese, but although it's definitely a bit boring at the start since the amount of things you need to initially be able to understand is a lot more than in dbd, once you play for a bit then it's honestly so much fun. The only downside to identity v that I can think of compared to dbd is that queue times are very weird, but are usually a nightmare if you play surv, also the gacha system is a total rip-off, however, all the things gacha gives are purely visual changes, you can not buy anything to get a competitive advantage with your character, you can just make your character look really nice and look cool for yourself!
tldr: If you mostly like dbd but there are some elements you don't like or you're starting to get bored of it then you should definitely try identity v, at first you'll find it annoying because you won't understand stuff, but there are lots of videos of tips for beginners, and if you do all the tutorials they can help you at a base level, also I found that my knowledge of dbd helped learn faster in idv.
tldr AGAIN: Identity V is one of the most similar games to dbd, but with very different mechanics, however identity v has lots of skins and accessories that give absolutely no competitive advantage, but give players something to either save currencies for (which you can either spend money on or earn from playing games) and absolutely no hacking, so as someone who plays both games I would HIGHLY recommend playing identity v until you at least feel like you understand the majority of the game and then you can decide!

    • @RandomPerson-sh9tu
      @RandomPerson-sh9tu Год назад +19

jesus christ this comment was so long, I just really think not enough people give idv a chance though because they immediately think "rip-off dbd" but it's so much more than that, also the company that runs idv actually got permission from dbd to use their overall idea of the game, but make it completely different.
One thing I will say if anyone decides to play is to not get mad at camping, as I mentioned in the comment, in idv camping is a totally intended strat and, although can make it harder to save, if you know what you're doing then it's nowhere near as bad as camping in dbd because the time it takes to rescue someone from a chair is less than time to rescue someone from a hook in dbd, I also think m1 cooldown for hunter is slightly longer than killers too? If anybody has any other questions about idv just lmk!

You already know that I completely agree with you, though it's so hard to explain to people exactly what puts idv (if anyone doesn't know idv = identity v) on a similar level to dbd because, as you said, the idea is really similar, but trying to describe everything about it to someone who hasn't played it is really hard.
I'll ofc also answer any questions people have on identity v as well, it'd be great if more people gave it a try. However making an idv account can be really tedious so that'll probably put a lot of people off, but once they get past that it's fun, and I'm happy to explain to people what to do!
If anybody has already made an account to give the game a try and needs help, my in game name is "Thricicle", if you click the icon that shows 2 people and then go to "add friends" you can search my name!

@@M1das idv has like 5 different gamemodes and normal matches and rank are separate from eachother so you can play a game in a non-sweaty way. There's also the fact that idv survivors aren't just skins with perks that you can put on other survivors, they have individual abilities and traits that either give them a buff or debuff. None of the characters come from crossovers or paid content which imo is waaaay better since in dbd if you want to play a licensed killer you have to pay like 7 bucks for that

And in idv, camping is a common strategy, when a hunter downed a survivor, there's a chance 3 cipher already finished. So with camping hunter can guarantee one elimination, beside there's survivors with ability to rescue against camping hunter.

In all honesty. As someone who's played IDV for a while it is pretty confusing for new players. Mainly because you have to understand and read on the actual power of other survivors/killers to get what is going on (Yes survivors have powers as well in IDV). But when you start understanding the game it gets really fun. Even if the microtransactions for the skins are a bit too much. And later on its extremely easy to get trials for characters so you can try out whoever you want. The Puzzle Pieces are also very easy to earn. You get them from the BP looking thing and levelling. The BP is free for everyone but it just mainly has gatcha rolls and one skin at the end so its not really needed to level it to max. Especially with how many tiers there are. 🦁

Please play more IDV!! I’ve been playing DBD since legion and I pretty much completely ditched it in favor of IDV, it’s so much more fun IMHO. It definitely gets more fun the more you play/understand, I noticed a lot of DBD RUclipsrs who give it a shot never really get past the part of the game where it spams you with bots so they never get to see how fun and crazy it gets which is a huge shame! There are a few hunters who are similar to DBD killers (the clown is just hillbilly without instadown and the guy with a deer on his head is a combo between trapper and roadhog from Overwatch) but for the most part they are totally unique. Like the “nurse” you went up against in the beginning can make a mirror copy of herself that she can hit you with. The lizard you were looking at is my absolute favorite hunter to play as, he jumps into the air and can slam down and kill people that way. He was my first hunter cause I thought he was hot lol but is absolutely one of the hardest hunters to learn so I’m not sure if I would recommend it.
The survivors are also all unique which is much better than in dbd where they’re basically just skins. The one you were playing is called lucky guy, he’s probably one of if not THE weakest survivor. He has no skills except for the ability to sometimes guarantee what you get from chests. Unlike DBD, items you get from chests all come from different survivors. So if you want a gun for instance, if you pick coordinator she spawns in with one (and also stuns the hunter for two more seconds with them). The doctor spawns in with the syringe and can heal so fast you can basically heal yourself in chase. Some items can’t be found in chest, like my favorite survivor, the weeping clown (who’s actually the same character as the clown hunter, just as survivor!), spawns in with three rockets you can ride around on. You can grab onto other survivors while doing so and take them on a joyride lmao.
It’s a lot of fun tho! I’ve been really enjoying these videos but I hope you do another for IDV!

The game is pretty much balanced around the abilitys anbd not like in dbd the pergs, wich is why mastering an killer or survivors ability can have way more inpact to the game than in dbd. But i still like dbd more, bacouse the meta is way better than in IDV (in my opinion) and u can controll the matches more and ur "basic skill" matters more, and dont get a RANDOM 5 SEKONDS STUNs OUT OF NOWHERE

There's so much more to Identity V. It'd be a good idea to go into custom matches, then find single-training mode, which is a mode that lets you try out all characters for free to practice them. There's a 2v8 mode and other cool modes like Tarot, blackjack, and the dodgeball mode. Characters in IDV aren't just skins, they each have their own unique abilities, which is why I recommend trying them out in single-training mode. Honestly, Identity V should be It's own video.
About the tunneling and camping, that's normal in this game. There are survivors that were made specifically to counter that, such as Enchantress, Prospector, etc. The "bloodweb" in this game is capped at 120, so it's a lot less of a grind in terms of getting the max for that.
On the book where you check characters, you can read their abilities too. The first hunter (killer) that you played is called Hell Ember. He has the ability to set down puppets to not only teleport, but they can also patrol the map.
The violin hunter is a guy, and he can set down notes in a straight line to do damage.
The hunter with a hood is our newest hunter, Ithaqua. He has the ability to control wind to pull survivors towards him AND give himself a speed boost. To counter him, get behind objects and walls so that his wind can't pull you towards him.

Identity V - Im sure people have you let you know but the dice you can roll in the battle-pass thing, make you get the puzzle pieces! you get dice by playing matches and once you have enough puzzle pieces you can use them to buy characters - no real money for characters required, the gacha/money purchases are purely cosmetical!
There is also daily rosters of free characters! Although you can only use them in quick matches, not ranked. And they might be locked until you finish the introduction, I'm not sure when you can use the free characters.
7:00 the map is for the chat feature, mostly! you can send messages to your team (c key / the icon on the right) and when someone else sends a message you can see where it came from relatively to your position on the mini map! It also shows a red dot for the killer in relation to you once they're close enough (helps mostly when you can't look behind yourself). For killers, the map will show where finished ciphers and vault / action notifications (failed skill checks, hook sabotages, etc.) are coming from, as well as showing a red dot for nearby survivors (in case you're blind).
IDV is a lot shorter - and more coordinated because of these messages, at least once people know how to use them. For ex. you can tell people youre rescuing so the others can focus on decoding.
I'd be happy to see you play IDV more, your reactions were absolutely priceless. Especially the "oh my god" on the Lucky Guy Maid Skin sent me :"D

Both survivors and hunter are all bots for several matches when you first start. That’s why everyone playing “weird.” You need to put about 2-3 hours straight in before you get some real people. Also you need to build up your persona web too to get the full set of traits to make good builds for both sides. 20:08 I think that was your first real hunter because Nightmare (the hunter) isn’t usually a training bot in this mode and he actually played normally - yes tunneling and camping is normal. IMO it’s more difficult to go from DBD to IDV than IDV to DBD. IDV you learn to be a lot more patient and calculated with every decision because one single mistake by any one can cost a whole match.

22:21 this is typical of Violinist to rub his butt on you lol. I’m guessing this is a Smurf hunter because they’re actually decent. Also don’t jump through windows so close to a hunter, you’ll get “terror shocked” and immediately go down. This is why I think DBD players struggle so much with this game because it’s definitely not as forgiving. He obv let you go though because he could’ve hit you after that gun.

For the people wondering why people liked IdentityV so much in the comment section, i have a few things to say.
It's the closest game to DbD on mobile when it's released, published by NetEase games while also being partnered with BHVR in the first place (This game is made when BHVR tried to branch out to make new games alongside Dbd. Remember Deathgarden?)
It's pretty easy to pick up and play too but with depth in each of the survivors and killers being different skillset wise, so teambuilding is actually a thing in this game instead of every survivor running DS, DH, Self Care or something. By easy to pick up and play, i mean you can just play a match or two while waiting for your dentist appointment or something, it's that quick so no stalling matches like the ones you see in DbD often.

You should probably give IDV another shot, it's made by the same devs who actually helped with the port for DBD mobile. And from what I remember the creators for DBD helped with it's development. Maybe go into it reading more about how the game works, since it's pretty different to DBD community wise and skill wise.
This is coming from a person who's been playing IDV for what... two years? (God help me.)
Firstly, for beginners or players on a losing streak, the games will fill games with bots. You can normally tell because of survivor's janky movements and the fact they ready up 0.001 seconds after the notification comes up. They'll also be pretty stupid from my experience.
    - Camping and tunnelling is pretty common, some more comments explain it better but all I know is that if you want more games with people who don't camp. They'll be in ranked matches (which you'll have to level up for.) However it can countered by a lot of skills the survivors have, but again hunters can also counter it with perks they can get. (Excitement, *cough cough*)
    - Since it's a free mobile game, a lot of stuff is behind pay walls. But you can get all the characters for free if you get gud. Since completing deductions (the little task things) and winning/drawing games gives you dice. Which you can roll and get the basic currency. Save up for whatever hunter you want, repeat cycle. Perks and other small abilities can be unlocked if by gaining deductions. I'm trying to keep this brief but I pretty much learnt all of this as I played on.
Overall, the game's got the same goal as DBD but a completely different style, appearance wise and gameplay wise. So I suggest giving it another shot and looking at what each character can do. I really want to see more DBD players jump into this game blind. It's pretty entertaining lmao.
