@@RodTerraa if it’s an actual dji geo fence it will stop you from flying into this zone or taking off. If it’s just a no fly zone but where dji hasn’t imposed a geo fence it is your choice whether you break the law and in some cases you are just asked to enter details and tick a box accepting full liability for flying in that zone. It really just varies
I am getting literally TWICE the distance and penetration using my Goggles 3 with my 03 Air Units. I have tested it on several quads now and they all do far better with the Goggles 3. I am using a Boxster radio so I wonder if that is the difference?

Hey thx for the 03 updates. What do the HD and RC bars at the screen's bottom right refer to? Did you set transmit to auto 2.4/5.8? Do you know a double tap to the goggle's right side gives you pass through using front cameras? Might be handier than lifting goggles for your hand launch.
@@rcwck hi, the Hd refers to the video signal and RC is the radio signal. I had it set to auto frequency for this initial test. I can confirm that the double tap for pass through does work with the air unit

@@rcwck with the goggles 3 there is a Bluetooth type connection between the RC 3 and the goggles, the goggles then communicate both video and RC signals with the drone. The rc doesn’t have a direct link to the drone - it’s all done via the goggles. This is why there’s no external antenna on the rc3 as it only has to communicate a short distance to the goggles.

For how long do you have to hold the binding button on the air unit? Please help me out
@@Graphicales make sure all devices are upgraded to the correct firmware - this is best done with the drone assist software. The bind button on the air unit I think you only have to press a few seconds.
@@maixior123 technically the O3 binds with the goggles as the remote 3 only has a link directly to the goggles, not to the o3 air unit or drone. I would just have all 3 turned on while binding though
@@luisamarales941 you need to assign a switch on the controller to arm the motors. To do this identify which button controls the desired channel on betaflight and then assign that channel to motor arm
Noob here, I just bought the FPV controller 3, so I can use the controller to flight any drone as long it got the O3 unit install? If yes, how do I set it up in order to control the drone FC? Is it in betaflight?, please let me know thank!!!

@@ScottMarshNZ unfortunately I believe the remote controller 3 only works with the goggles 3. If you also have a remote 2 I’d opt for using that with the o3 air unit as there have been some reports of signal dropouts with the the firmware recently which may be due to the use of goggles/remote 3 with the o3 air unit (I haven’t experienced this myself yet though)
@@h.hristov I haven’t actually measured it but based on feel I’d definitely say it’s a bit less of confident feel (flying through woods etc) than I had with the avata 2 for sure. So I guess that ties in with his findings.

Sucks that the Avata 1 the other minis, the Vista are still not compatible. I still can't justify the upgrade. Dji makes me mad they do this tbh.... why should I have to own the googles v2 the googles 2 and the googles 3 to get all my hd dji systems to work? If they wanna sell a bunch of goggles 3, have them compatible with all the freakin drones! So stupid. Also, if a person owns a remote 2 and googles 2, allow them to purchase the Avata 2 and IT be compatible. There reasoning isn't sound. They'd make people happier, and they'd make more money.
Wouldn't be nice to have DJI letting their customer's/prospective customer's in on compatibility gaps in their own hardware. So we could make the most informative decision not a gamble or a fake leak
@@chiprobertson3094 I mention the fact that the drone has reduced range (better measured by poor penetration) in the video and later on even show my experience of range being improved using the FCC hack.
@@philihc I have a few drones that I run on ELRS and yes it’s a brilliant system but I’m torn between preferring the convenience of only having to carry one controller when I take my beta flight drone alongside my DJI avata 2.
@@dronewilder5234 yeah I thought that and I get it, sometimes the better system isn't the better solution and the DJI Link isn't too bad, if we are serious, if the video is gone, most of the time you will crash anyhow it you have GPS / failsafe as an emergency solution
Dji system is so much better than Walksnail. I have tried Walksnail,HD zero, Analog, and DJI. DJI isn't the best for freestyle and racing, but DJI is by far the best for everything else. All systems have there pro's and cons but Hdzero and DJI are the best digital systems. Analog is great for newbies and freestyle. Hdzero is the system most professional racers use as well becoming the new standard for freestyleas well. I have a drone company, and DJI is by far the best option for professional work. You pay more but don't need to add additional action cameras, which makes up for the higher cost of DJI equipment. Also, don't buy the avata 2 for racing or freestyle it sucks in that regard, but it's awesome for cinematic stuff and close proximity flights. To be fair, that's its intended purpose, so DJI knocked it out of the park with the Avata 2 if you use it as intended.

When you switch the goggles back to Avata 2 mode do you have to re-bind to the avata? you DID need to do this with the goggles 2 and the air units

you can connect the googles 2 & remote 2, to Control the Avata 2 and it works nice
